I have really mixed feelings about this book because the concept itself is excellently told, but I think that some events had more potential and that it could have been better and above all, a little more creative. I find the idea very interesting because magic through music and singing sounds original and different from most novels. I have never read anything like that before, so I was immediately drawn to it and I was excited to enter that world.
What can I write to you without spoiling it? 💭
Cadenza is a young woman who dreams of becoming a great opera singer and making something of her life. She is not in a position to simply go and make her dream come true, so she works and saves money to go sing at the festival in Venice. Music has always been important to her, but she still doesn't understand that her voice is not just a talent because there is something much more powerful in it. But she knows that she is different because she has been hearing the EarthSong and unusual melodies since she was little.
In order to get the money, she comes to work at Norroway Automotive, and right there with the Norroway family, where she spent her childhood, she will discover the true extent of her power while someone is trying to kill her.
She has the power to sing while the others have other powers which is totally fine with me. It's just that if Cadenza has had that power all her life, how come she never tried singing to find out what she could really do? Hadn't she been curious all these years? And this question: why does she see the threads of fate only when it suddenly becomes important for the story? I had the impression that her abilities appeared just when the plot needed them.
In the beginning, the plot moves slowly as everything builds up to the main story, and the mystery surrounding the Ferrari was what kept me turning the pages. Who just expected that?? 😅🤫 That's when everything comes together and is justified.

Each person who appears is important, has a role to play and something to struggle with and yearn for. The relationship that developed between Cadenza and Reyna is very beautiful to me and I'm glad for Reyna that she finally has a real friend, a found-family.
I liked Taran, but he didn't make a big impression on me, and I think he should have as the main character. But he was, let's say, limited in time.
And Canon? He is without a doubt my favorite character. 😍💘 I'm not sure that the author planned for him to appropriate such sympathy, but he completely won me over.
‼️SPOILER ALERTS ⤵️
Every time Canon appeared he lit up every scene so his challenge for the crown really disappointed me. I was expecting something big, smart or emotional, and in the end it all came down to a choice between an old T-shirt and a newspaper?!! There could have been a boom event, but no. Mostly, he chose wrongly and simply disappeared. I repeat: he just DISAPPEARED. After all the story building around him, that moment was very weak, even though I didn't expect THAT to happen. I secretly hope he comes back in the second book because this can't be the end of him. It simply c a n n o t! 😭💔
Even the ending did not leave me speechless because the outcome with Taran was obvious from the beginning. But when I combine it with all the other events, I somehow like the finale more and more: the car chase, the fight against the enemy (all the characters from the book participate), Cadenza's singing and then Reyna... 👏🏻🤌🏻✨
Besides all that, the book wasn't bad. The world is interesting, the idea is different and the characters had potential, which is why I kept reading until the end. I just think the author could have made much better use of everything she came up with. For me, this was a book with a great premise but average execution. I wish I could give it a higher rating, but... 🤷🏻♀️ And yes, I definitely plan on reading the second book.

Unraveling Fate was such a fun and enchanting read! I loved how the author blended contemporary life with mythology, folklore, music, and just the right amount of romance. The result was a fantasy story that felt magical without ever becoming too heavy or overwhelming.
Cadenza was a wonderful heroine to follow. She’s determined to build her own future and prove herself on her own terms, but the strange music she hears hints that there’s much more to her than she realizes. Watching her slowly uncover the truth about the earthsong and her own abilities made for an intriguing journey of self-discovery.
The music-based magic was easily one of my favorite elements. It was creative and beautifully woven throughout the story, giving the magic its own identity rather than feeling like a familiar fantasy system. I also loved the Italian influences and musical references, which added another layer of personality and atmosphere to the book.
The found-family aspect was another highlight. The characters all have their own histories, motivations, and personalities, and I enjoyed watching Cadenza develop connections with the people around her. The relationships felt genuine, while the mythology and supernatural elements added plenty of mystery and intrigue.
There are twists, danger, romance, and an ancient evil threatening everything Cadenza has begun to care about, but at its heart, this is a story about choosing your own destiny and discovering who you really are.
If you enjoy contemporary fantasy, magical realism, found family, mythology, sweet romance, and unique magic systems, Unraveling Fate is definitely worth adding to your TBR. I loved the combination of the real world and the fantastical, and I'm already looking forward to seeing where this story goes next! ✨🎶.

This is a very unique book. I really enjoyed the magic system that was tied to music. The first little bit of it was a bit slow but when it picked up boy did it pick up! I liked also how it really kind of made fun of itself a little bit for one of the major plot points. I don't want to give away too much but you definitely see it coming and then when they explain why I found it pretty funny. The main character is a very strong female character. She definitely wants to make it on her own without anybody else's help. But at some times I think she needs to understand when it's okay to ask for help which she does figure out. There was a lot of character growth for the female main character which I really enjoyed. As the book continues and you get deeper into the magic of the world and I can't wait to see what else is coming in this series. This was definitely a great place to start off because the audience of the book like our female main character is learning all about the world that she now finds herself a part of. It's a great way to introduce and have the reader come along on the journey as well without feeling like you're over explaining things. I enjoyed the conflict too between the main character accepting the two different versions of fate that are being given to her in this book and how she realizes where she fits in.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It is fun, steadily paced, and full of twists and turns to keep you turning the page. It’s a little bit of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” meets “Fast Cars and Freedom” — a perfect blend of folklore and fantasy for the modern world. I immediately felt an affinity with the main character, Cadenza, because I am of Italian descent myself and also dabbled in opera. The cast of characters are a delightful mix of personalities, origin stories, and motivations. I love the depth and complexity of each character.
“Unraveling Fate” is a story of personal discovery, love in its many forms, and the power our choices have over our destinies. While there is good and evil, tension, and plenty of action, this is a lighter fantasy read (meaning it doesn’t feel heavy) that will keep you turning pages and rooting for every “good guy” to realize their dreams and reach their goals.
If you’re a fan of fantasy set in the real world and sweet romance, this is the perfect book for you. I’ll be anxiously awaiting the next installment in this series.

UNRAVELING FATE is a fast sports car of a ride into the world of fate, mystery, and music-magic.
Genre: Fantasy, Romantasy, Mystery
Spice Level: Nothing on the page
Language: Mild curses plus some in Italian
I was surprised at the creativity in this one. Who would ever think of putting in a Ferrari into a story where it feels like the fairy world is pulling strings both for and against certain families? The car is explained in a way that makes sense once you get into it more. It was interesting to learn what people really knew and what they were holding back.
My favorite part is the mystery—I kept feeling like there was more going on than what I was catching. I always love twists in books, and there are a couple I did not see coming.
This book is perfect for people wanting a fast and creative story, who love fantasy, and especially those who are obsessed with fate. If you love sports cars, you wish will also be granted.
Happy reading!
My thanks for the ARC goes to NetGalley and Oliver Heber Books.

I received and read this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This was a fun and engaging fantasy read with a truly unique music based magic system that immediately stood out. While the story started a little slowly, it quickly picked up pace and drew me into the world. I loved discovering the magic alongside the main character, as it made the world-building feel natural and immersive without becoming overwhelming. The inclusion of Italian words and phrases also added a lovely cultural touch that made the story feel more distinctive.
Overall, this was a strong start to a promising series. The combination of creative magic, engaging characters, humor, and themes of fate and self-acceptance made for an enjoyable read. I'm excited to see where the story goes next and would definitely recommend it to fantasy readers looking for something fresh and character-driven.

This was a fun read! The music-based magic was super cool and unique. I loved how the author wove those musical themes throughout the novel. I also loved the bits of Italian phrases and words sprinkled throughout the book! It definitely gave the book a fun flavor of the main character’s culture and background. The plot was intriguing and the characters were fun to get to know! I like the found family theme, and the side characters’ unique backgrounds too. I look forward to seeing how the story continues throughout the saga!

Book 1 of Fates Saga. And a wonderful start it is! Look forward to more from this world.
'Cadenza can no longer pretend the earthsong isn’t hers. She’ll have to master it—or watch her whole world unravel into silence.'
The characters were very appealing and complex and complicated and absolutely perfect together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was excellent and expertly drawn. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

This is a delightful book. It mixes music with mythology in a way I’ve never seen. It features a heroine who is aware of her magic but refuses to use it, a handsome hero with an onion’s worth of secrets, and a foil whose motivation ranges from true love to raw betrayal. The fantasy elements propel a very romantic storyline (no spice) toward a satisfying conclusion that points to more fun in this fascinating universe. Recommended!

Unique fantasy with a music theme. I enjoyed it very much. The characters are very well developed, and you can't help but love them except for the bad guys of course! It was very intriguing how music aka "Earthsong" was detailed throughout this novel. It was enchanting and kept the pages turning.

Unraveling Fate is the first book in Wilson's Fate Saga series. This romantasy features Cadenza Cavalieri and Taran Norroway.
Cadenza comes from a family of successful opera singers. All she wants to be one of them. When her mother contacts her to let her know that there is a part in the chorus which she could have, she believes this is the beginning of the career she has long desired. The only challenge is that she has to put together enough money to get herself to Venice. Fortunately, an old friend of her father's, Drostan Norroway, offers her not only temporary employment at Norroway Automotive but also a place to live.
When being shown to where she will reside, Cadenza comes across a Ferrari F12 Berlinetta hidden away in storage. She knows a lot about repairing cars from her father and thinks she will endeavour to get the car running again as a thank you to Drostan. Little does she know that there is more to this Ferrari than meets the eye.
I enjoyed this story. It was an unusual premise and quickly captured my attention. The characters were interesting and the story itself had an underlying mystery which kept me engaged. There were unexpected twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat.
I really liked what the author did with the magic in this story. Cadenza's magic was tied directly to her instrument. I thought the idea was beautifully executed. I also appreciated how the author didn't build a new world, but rather overlapped the magical with the world that exists around us. Sometimes that makes it easier for the readers to embrace the story.
I'm not sure how many books are planned for this series but I look forward to discovering Wilson's future releases. This was a fun, easy to read story and I recommend checking it out.

The mystery was absolutely what kept me going in Unraveling Fate. I needed answers, and every time I thought I had something figured out, there was enough going on to keep me questioning it!
The romance just wasn’t doing much for me though. I never really got attached to the MMC, so I was much more interested in figuring out what was actually going on than I was in their relationship. The mystery and the twists were definitely the strongest part for me!
Thank you to the author and publisher for the ARC!
