The Billionaire Game #3

The Billionaire Game 3

Rate this book
I knew he was trouble.

You’d think the words 'Playboy billionaire’ would have been my first warning, but I went and fell hard for Asher Young. He said he believed in me and my lingerie design business, but it turns out, it was all just a game to him.

I never want to see his irritatingly-handsome face again. But how am I supposed to move on when he’s still my #1 investor?

I can’t decide if I want to slap him, or kiss him senseless.
Or both.

Maybe it’s time the player got played…

Finally. I felt like I was being punished by reading this series. But at least, they say when you're being tortured, you get out with a clean soul, that you get rid of all your sins and can begin wit a clean slate. That said, I think this means my next 100 books will be all 5 exceptional stars reads. A girl can dream!
To make it short for me I'll copy part of a review of one of m GR friends - MELISSA (EVER SO MELA), where she describes the heroine of a book she read that fits exactly the heroine in this book. I'll just change some words.
KATE:AKA the worst effing heroine, business woman,(un) professional, friend you could possibly find. People like her make me consider going friendless (she can't keep a serious conversation if her life depended on it)she always sarcastic, have a witty come back, a snarky comment and so on. Sometimes one needs some adult talking. She talks and acts like a teen. She's a ingrate that should have just been struck by lighting (or run over by a car when she left her lingerie store open house when she found out the Hero's betrayal, LOL- I wish that kind of betrayal on me). Freaking horrible business partner (who had zero money. All the money came from the H)who never once considered being thankful for the Hero's financial help. And to top it all she was always rude to the hero, arguing with him all the time about how to run the business when she had zero experience while the H was a self made billionaire and she was struggling to pay her bills. P-L-E-A-S-E. Inconsiderate bitch. In her eyes, the world revolved around her and her insecurities (because you know -CLICHE - her family never supported her, always criticizing her decisions and capability) and self-serving reasoning. GO TO THE CORNER AND DIE. I could go on but this book doesn't deserve any more of my time and thoughts.
This author is out of my list.
Thank you again Melissa

So, book one sets up a good storyline, had a healthy amount of humor and sarcasm, & hinted at a heated romance to come in book two.

Book two dives into the business and continues to tease at a romance. Of course, just as the romance finally takes flight, it crashes and burns in a cliffhanger of deception.

Now, book three....

Author started strong with one, fizzled a little with two, but ended in a crash and burn with three.

So, Asher is a jerk. He manipulated and lied to Kate. 85% of the book is spent with him trying to explain and her cutting him off all while the business gains attention.

One of my biggest book pet peeves and the fastest way to turn a character from victim into dumbass is for a story to have some big blow up (aka Asher's bet) and the other character to do shit like not allow the person to explain why, delete messages where they try to explain why, and all around avoid the person that's pleading to explain why.... ALL WHILE the 'victim' in the situation mopes around and ponders for 85% of the story WHY! It's damn absurd, melodramatic, senseless shit to create a third volume out of what should've been three, maybe four chapters.

What's worse, you ask?

It's all swept under the rug in ONE f'ing paragraph that only added more insult to injury and still never reveals any big, saving grace 'WHY!'

After reading her saying "leave me the f alone. I'll never forgive such a betrayal. I don't want an explanation" .... and her thinking 'omg why, how could he do this to me?!?!?' shit for 85%, you'd think there'd have to be some damn good reason he'd hurt her over a bet for there to be a HEA, right? Uhm, no~

The explanation - He admits to yet another bet involving her selling out. Apology for either? Some "wow" on why he'd hurt her for a bet? Nope! But, he says the bet proceeds go to charity!!! Whoopie! So, that immediately makes it all okaydookie for this chick & moots the fact that he makes bets based on a business she takes such pride and love in. She jumps him and "I love you's" are exchanged. Naturally, this is his cue to propose marriage ; never you readers mind that the majority of book one and two were spent with him parading women about and her hating his ass -or- that book three she spent avoiding and hating his ass for lying & he still is parading women about! Facepalm:0

So, what does a bullshit sundae need, you ask.... Whipped dogshit, of course. Duh!

At one point, she tells off the most unsupportive family known to God and man & has an epiphany that, lying ass or not, Asher at least supports her dreams. So, off she goes to profess said epiphany to Asher in the middle of the night where he answers his door "wet" and in a pair of shorts, a weird look of shock, and with a chick behind him at the door that she's already witnessed once dry humping him in public. She bolts... Of course. During the big "explanation" above he's asked about his new girlfriend. He says he's not dating anyone else & that the whole thing was all just to make her jealous. Okay, so, yeah, I'm supposed to believe he kept a female, (platonically? Idk he didn't say he didn't f her... Just she wasn't his girlfriend) on hand 24/7 just in case Kate would drop by and he could make it appear sexual *wink* so she would get jealous... Unhuh! What dog shit can someone paint up as a gold nugget?!?

Bottom line:

Do I recommend? Sure, if you're sitting beside a little green dude from planet shitzfingville and find yourself with a book hangover after reading "You Too Can Make A Scarf Out Of Dryer Lint & 100 Other Ways To Waste Brain Cells," then by all means enjoy this series!

After Part Two I was a little mad at Lila. I mean, as mad as a reader can be towards a great publishing author. It was an obvious filler novel and I wanted more! The Billionair Game 3 came about with a bang though. A sexy as all hell BANG.

It had it all! Humor, a strong female lead, some great best friend dynamic. It showed that woman can be kick-ass business owners and oh Lord, you might as well just forget to wear panties. It was slightly unrealistic when talking about the romance aspect but I think that's a lot of the appeal of romance novels, you get to live in a world that doesn't exist. ~ Kelly, 4.5 stars to a fantasy I would love to live in!

The conclusion of this great series is just that - great! I absolutely adore this author and this series.

Kate is such a strong woman. She is much like myself and, I'm sure, many other women out there. Who hasn't put on a façade to make it through the day? But Kate still prospers through the heartache and lack of emotional support from her "family."

The character development is on-point. The relationships within these pages are ones the reader can dream for. I love the relationship between Lacey and Kate. I have adored this friendship from the first page of The Billionaire Bargain (Lila's debut series).

The witty humor and "nerdy" references make this story a must read! This is what I have loved about Lila from the beginning. Her writing is realistic, heartbreaking then heartwarming, sexy and hilarious.

This series teaches you to not give up on your dreams--no matter how much people may bring you down-- you need to have faith in yourself. With that faith you can realize those dreams!

I like how the book was not rushed, but a little disappointed by the ending (not the epilogue).
After Asher's deceit, I expected some sort of explanation, to ask for Kate's forgiveness or something. It felt inconclusive for me, someone who felt the betrayal and hurt that his betting caused on Kate. And he didn't just bet once, he did it twice with no shame of admitting it. Still betting on whatever Kate would choose for her future, and I find that offensive. Because of this, his proposal was unexpected, and honestly, not very well received by me. Sure, they love each other and have the strongest connection, but after weeks of standing on the wrong foot, they don't even talk about it, and the real hurt it caused? That's not ok.

What... did I just read? This was a bit of a disappointment because I’ve loved the other books I’ve read of Lila Monroe.

Admittedly, it was hard to get into this book because it felt like you were starting at chapter four and had no idea who the characters were or what the bloody hell was going on.

BUT. I liked the banter between the characters, so I figured it was probably just a bad opening.

I was wrong.

The major conflict in this book: Asher made a bet with Brody to find a business with no hope and turn it into a success.

How did that play out? It ruined their relationship.

What happened next? Let’s have a bit of a recap here, shall we?

1) Kate ignores him because he’s an asshole (good girl).

2) Kate realises after several weeks that she was falling in love with Asher, and decides she should at least hear his side of the story and tell him how she feels.

3) When Kate rocks up at his apartment, THERE’S ANOTHER GIRL IN THERE. So she leaves.

4) Asher is being confusing by flirting with her and hinting that he loves her while flirting and touching (flirtatiously) other women.

5) At Kate’s fashion show, Asher models a piece of underwear down the catwalk at the very end, rendering her line a joke. (Many people commenting on how she brought humour and it was a joke encore.)

6) Kate is pissed (rightly so), but when she finds out the Asher doubled the original bet? For $20 million? To try and get her to sell her business to a department store? “Oh, but the money’s for charity. And since I lost and you didn’t sell” - but he told her not to so it’s supposed to be romantic - “I had to walk the runway.” AND SHE’S ALL “Oh. Okay then.”

7) Asher proposes, she says yes. End of story.

UM. WHAT THE FUCK? EXCUSE ME? Where was the conversation and communication?? No problems were solved here! And trying to make a girl jealous by TOUCHING another girl? Yeah, she’ll be jealous. She’ll also dump your ass because that’s just wrong. How could this be the end of the story when no wrongs were righted? There was no consolation here, Asher just flirted and spent his money and Kate forgot all about how he had wronged her and lied to her. Yes, he gave her space. But what comes after space? RECONNECTING. TALKING. WHERE WAS THAT SCENE??

Good End to Fun Series

While I don't want to like Kate and Asher, I do. Their story is fun, has moments of hilarity, and makes me want to figure out how to make my own lingerie (or at least go out and buy some new stuff). I just wish there had been more - story overall, development of the relationship and plot - just more (one of the reasons I often despise serial style series). But I know I'll read more of Lila Monroe's books because I know they'll be amusing reads.

Asher and Kate

The plot to this story was very interesting and unique. Kate was a wonderful, reliable, steadfast, and creative woman. I found Asher hard to read. I liked him, but as a reader I didn’t know if I should trust him. Then he would do something that seemed detrimental to the relationship and I was just as confused about him as Kate was. I liked that this story kept me in my toes and looking around corners, so to speak to determine what to believe.

h gets an offer to buy out. If she does, she will never have to see him again, but it may ruin her credibility in terms of luxury goods/materials.

H is very apologetic, and his "friend" is too... he hits on h (and also tries to kiss her?). H makes him jealous by bringing different women around her, including his ex?

They get engaged. I don't know how they got here. Gave 2 stars because I love a man who physically displays his regret/sadness (he still could have begged though)

Unredeemable Playboy (maybe a spoiler alert)

I really did love the chemistry between Katie and Asher, however I wasn’t thrilled with the ending. I really need more to believe it will be an HEA. What the hell was Asher thinking with a different blond each week and three at the charity event. A little much for me to believe he was just trying to make her jealous.

Love/hate

I did like this book and i love Lila as a writer but this story frustrated me a little. She would never just listen to him. Also I wouldn't be able to trust that he would be faithful if he could so freely be with other women when he supposedly liked her. Just like at the beginning when he was with multiple women in a day

I usually really like Lila's books, and I really liked the Billionaire Bargain trilogy, but this...... It started off well enough but I feel like by the end of the book even the author was sick of it so she just rushed it to a conclusion.

Am being generous so rounding up to 2. This one is really bad and very disappointing given I did like her other one a lot.

I cannot like either protagonists here. We hardly see the H around and mostly superficially he comes across as shallow and very flat. All we see is his smirks, being draped by women by the dozen and hardly two sentences strung together as most were cut off by our h. I still don't know his background much, how he became this way, why he acts so callously and uncaringly most times. I am not even impressed when the big final ooh ahh scene came about as I don't really feel him being too invested either ways given his actions throughout the separation. He doesnt seem too hurt, didn't do more than make a few half arse attempts to straighten out and apologise for his actions. I am going on a limp here to say he didn't revert to skanky behaviour when they were apart, but then we will never know since h suddenly decides everything is fine since he already said the magical L word, meh.

Now the h I liked quite a lot at the beginning. She is snarky, sacastic and funny. Yet as the story progresses, it got old. She kept being irrelevant and flippant when she found out the H's motives. She acted like she is in pre school with I am not talking to you attitude, then got all hurt and jealous when he seemed to got over her and went out with others. She also was so self absorbed she couldn't bring herself to be happy in her best friend's event. All we here is a debbie downer's I am so mad at him and I will do something childish, then I want ti tear his clothes off. She just seems to be not satisfied with anything despite being successful finally. And cue....rinse and cycle. It just is depressing and more so when she cannot even react properly to events. She is sarcastic when she is sad, when she is shocked, snarky when she heard something touching. It is good when a h is sassy but this one doesnt seem to be anything else, making her and in essense, the readers too, very detached and disconnected.

Both protagonists doesnt react to events that were pivotal to the story correctly if at all. H should be devastated when he finally figured out how he mucked up, he gave h a smiley smirk instead (?!?!) h should be gutted by H yet she made some smart arsed comment on top of another snarky one. I don't know if these two takes this situation seriously and even worst, if they found it funny or if they even care at all.

The plot has a lot to answer for. I don't know if there is more than 2 to 3 pages of interactions between these two in the second half of the book besides missed or rejected opportunities to meet up or chance meetings where one or both piled another misunderstanding on top of their mountainload of misunderstandings. The bulk was taken up by the broken record monologue of ms debbie downer and her interactions with everyone under the sun but the H. Oh and then another few pages were featuring them, but only with them getting all nekkid and panting. And what is even worst? the humungous misinderstanding actually only took 2 sentences to straighten out and made the world right in the h's eyes. I had to reread three times to see if I missed reading and was all puzzled thinking 'that's it'?

Oh and the sexy scenes? So not sexy here. I felt I was given a front row ticket to a porn. Dialogues I swear was an exact transcript of one. It was so tacky and horny I don't feel the connection or anything beyond.

The story started out strong, to be honest, and just went down the drain second book onwards. I will say to stay away from this one and just don't waste your time.

First off thank you to Lila Monroe and Give Me Books for providing me with a copy of this installment to read in exchange for an honest review. Secondly, it’s a sad day. Why? Because this is the final installment of the serial. The final nail in the coffin so to speak. (sniffles) God, I do love a good story, even if the cliffhangers get my heart going and make me have a hissy fit like a toddler on a candy high.

***small spoiler alert***

Poor Kate. Talk about a slap in the face. Asher’s ‘bet’ struck her in a way that she can’t handle. Brody though is a jackass of all jackasses to break it to her like that on opening day. Her special day was turned to shit thanks to the two of them. But our Katie is a fighter. And fight she does. Even if it hurts her to fight, to be the woman she is supposed to be. But there is more to the story than she knows. (I knew that from the moment Asher tried to explain to her what happened.) To say Kate is strong willed would be like saying an elephant's ass isn’t the size of a buick. But, she has a right to be mad. But I feel she was unfair to Asher. Ugh, I know, I never thought I would say that out loud. (laughs hard) Our billionaire geek has hit a sweet spot inside me. Stranger things have happened.

If Kate has one thing in her arsenal its determination. She is going to make her way and she is going to prove the people in her life that have always put her down that she can do this. She will not be defeated by fear and loss. As time passes Kate still refuses to deal with Asher. Why should she. He wanted to be a silent partner, now the ass can be silent. But… again she was too hard on him. She wasn’t being true to herself either. She was leaving the hurt and pain inside her to be dealt with at another time but until Kate was forced (in a roundabout way) to face it she knew what she wanted. She wanted Asher. So she went after him.. only to hit another roadblock.

Kate, god love her, has her insecurities. Any successful or not so successful woman does but hers are on a level all their own. Her family, for crying out loud, they make crazy people seem sane. I swear they all need jackets that make them hug themselves. And a boot up the ass to boot. Though, finally Kate gets enough of their shit and tells them all off. I cheered. Can’t lie. I loved it. But it was what she needed to spur herself on. To become one with the her inner goddess. And thanks the gods she does because it allows her to really get a glimpse into who Asher is and that they both, despite the arguments, the pressure and the hurt it all comes down to what the heart wants. Asher’s heart wants Kate’s. Kate’s heart wants Asher’s and that is the way it should be. Their love is screaming, “Beam me up Scotty”. (yes, I am a Star-Trek geek… most days. lol) In the end that is the only thing they have that they know can last. Love. Its the heart to anything worth fighting for.

Well, this is the final installment in the Billionaire Game series. And let me tell you, it is definitely going to take you on a ride! After the truth was revealed at the end of the second book, you can't blame Kate for being pissed off! I mean how could Asher do that to her!!!

*“This should have been the best night of my life, but all I could feel was heartache, a searing pain that felt as though it might go on forever, until the sun burned out and collapsed into a black hole.”*

The poor thing! Felt so bad for her! I mean the truth makes you question whether or not Asher actually cared about Kate at all! So you can't blame her for falling into a funk.

Eventually Brody calls and invites her to lunch to apologise for his part... reluctantly she agrees. And guess who also shows up?

description

Lol, that's right. Asher! And let me tell you, he is soo ticked off and starts telling Kate that she can't trust Brody. Funny, considering that she thought she could trust him. Kate makes it very clear that she wants nothing to do with him and that he needs to be a SILENT partner. She definitely gets points for sticking to her guns and putting Asher into his place!

Of course Lacey believes that Kate should give him a chance to explain. But Kate refuses and focuses on her work. When a fantastic opportunity presents itself, Kate has to reluctantly admit that she needs Asher to help her. During their talk, Asher gives Kate a very steamy kiss ;) however Kate remembers Brody's words and realises that it has nothing to do with her.

*Asher liked games. Asher liked to win.*

-_- man... getting annoyed with Asher and his behaviour! Every time he does something sweet or cute, he follows it up with something sooo insensitive and it makes him come off like a jerk! Poor Kate! This up and down is enough to do anyone's head in! But finally, finally! Kate stands up to her family and puts them in their place! It was absolutely fantastic! And while she is still on this high, she decides to tell Asher how she feels!

Well I won't tell you how that works out, I want you to read it for yourself but you'll love it! I absolutely adored this series. Lila Monroe has created a funny and exciting story that has a hot alpha you love to hate ;) Kate is a fantastic protagonist who is strong and independent but also sensitive and sweet. She won't take things laying down and says what she feels. It was also great seeing Lacey and Grant again! This series had lots of ups and downs which made it exciting because you were never sure what was just around the corner. If you haven't read this series yet, go now and get started!

Gifted for an honest review – 4 stars (series overall 4 ½ stars)
Aw, I think I’m going to miss Asher and Kate, as this was the last in this highly entertaining series. I hadn’t read Lilas previous Billionaire series but I think I might go give it a look, even though I know how it’s ending. I enjoyed the flair that this series seem to have, the writing was witty and the plot was good. It’s a plot that’s been done before undoubtedly to death so an author needs to come up with a different background in order to do a plot like this some justice. Lila did that, she took two commonplace characters that we all love to read about and threw in some knickers! It worked for me…
Kates stubbornness is quite the feature of this last book and whilst it was an admirable trait for a main character it also meant that we didn’t really get to see so much of Asher or really get into his head. I did feel after reading this that Asher lacked that all crucial character development. It was a shame; I would have liked to have seen him fight a little harder for Kate. When they are in each other’s company their chemistry is simply smoking and the author did well to portray that, in fact the emotions were plain to see and feel throughout this book. I did skim a little bit of the business mumbo jumbo, as in the other two; I wasn’t so much interested in that side unfortunately. Then again, how do you make business jargon sexy?
I’d recommend this; you do get swept up in the entire goings on between these two. There are a few interesting secondary characters, some you like yet others not so much. It’s not a 5 star read for me, and I’ve rated each book a 4 but I do think it’s almost there (for my tastes anyway) I always love a book that I can get lost in without too much thinking for a while. I’m off to hunt out Lilas other series, enjoy this!

This is the final installment of the Billionaire Game series and it's 'I can stand up for myself and make him jealous' wonderful!

We return to Katie running from her store's opening when she discovers that Asher made "a bet on who could take the biggest no-hope business idea and make it into a success." Katie is nearly destroyed, she spends coach time sulking, but she doesn't give up on her dream. Asher makes attempt to explain but he never begins with an apology furthering Katie's anger.

Katie is offered and opportunity to move on from Asher, pay him back and start fresh. She would have the funds to move forward and leave her partner behind. Can she move forward without the man who has supported her, shared with her, and made her perfect geeky match?

Katie comes into her own, she finds her backbone and stands her ground. She won't give into Asher until she's satisfied that she isn't just another flavor of the month. Katie finally stands up to her family, she confronts them regarding their hypocritical, condescending and undermining treatment. I loved it! Asher continues to play games but this time he plays them to win Katie back. Asher redeems himself and reveals his true feeling when gives a poignant speech about love at his best friends wedding. I would love to read Asher's POV. I think he makes for an intriguing character.

The mother of all battles in on! While Kate valiantly wallows in betrayal and viciously denies Asher a glimpse of her, he pursues a change to explain why he broke her heart. Again, I could feel all the wild emotions at the same time I had incredible fun. The author just knows the trick to pull fun out of a painful disaster.

No wonder Asher gets exasperated with Kate's unrelenting attitude towards him because she's stubborn to hell and back which makes for hilarious conversations and provocative yet angry encounters.

Of course, I supported Kate wholeheartedly, but in a tiny romantic part of my poor wounded heart I also rooted for lying, handsome Asher. He seemed to be genuinely in pain to connect with Kate again. Though other times I just wanted to slap the infuriating man in the face. He should have showed his romantic feelings for Kate because there were times he didn't seem to have any beyond guilt. The poor woman was floundering with so much stress and not a gift of love in her life. That is until a heart-warming speech that left as breathless as Kate.

Oh, how frustrating it was all this battle-dance they kept. It was totally worth it when we get that hot, heart-melting finale that's dripping with romance and sensuality. Though I must admit I'd have liked them to have a deeper, longer conversation before they just jumped to a happily ever after.

In conclusion, a fantastically written romance with an outrageously original theme that comes loaded with fun.

A satisfying ending to the tumultuous tale of Asher & Kate! There is an excessive amount of drama waiting for you and an epic speech given by Kate that made me want to pull a Tom Cruise and jump on the couch. (did I really just make a Tom Cruise/Oprah reference?! I swear, I’m not even drinking right now).

Kate’s pissed. She’s so so pissed. And I can’t blame her. What Asher did it almost unforgivable…unless there’s a good reason. IS THERE A GOOD REASON?! So much angst.

Anyway, Asher is still his oh so sexy self, even though you don’t see as much of him as you’d like (Ok, I….as much as I’D like) in this installment. That’s due to Kate’s stubbornness. Honestly, it’s a little impressive. Kate’s obstinacy is at Expert Level. But don’t worry, he gives an epic speech as well that turned me to complete mush.

I felt that the ending was a littttttle rushed. I wanted to bask in the glow of that speech a bit longer, but perhaps I just really wanted to spend more time with Asher & Kate. Also, I was so happy to see Lacey and Grant on their wedding day (total bonus), but what about that thing that Kate was making Lacey? Did she finish?! I may have missed that.

Regardless, this book is full of jealousy and miscommunication and eventually, lots of happiness. I’m completely satisfied with the ending, overall. Lila, once again, knows how to work her billionaires. <3

Asher Young really missed up this time and now Kate is wondering who the real Asher is. The kind, caring, somewhat annoying man that believed in her dreams, her thoughts, her business? Or is he that lying, manipulative man that made a bet with an old friend?

This final installment of the Billionaire Game was a invigorating end to a tantalizing story. The journey that Kate and Asher have taken has been an unconventional one, but it was perfectly choreographed for them.

Asher may have made a bet without thinking how it would affect Kate, but the longer he spends with her, the more he wants her to succeeded despite the bet. Kate having learned of the bet must now decide if being with Asher, on a professional level, is worth it.

Asher tries, over and over again, to apologize and make things better for Kate. To prove that he can be trusted. Kate wants to believe him, but she's scared of getting hurt..... again.

However, once the choice is made, Kate will do what she can to make her dreams come true. Not just her dreams for her business but also in her personal life.

I really enjoyed this series. Lila's writing is fabulous entertaining. Asher Young is a sexy, sensual, seductive man with a capital "S"! Kate is a funny, talented, down to earth, strong, independent woman that I would love to have as a best friend. Asher and Kate are great individually but together they're phenomenal. I would highly recommend this series and can't wait to see what Lila will bring us next!

In this 3rd installment, it starts right where book 2 ended. And what an ending THAT was!!! Asher Young FUCT up bad. I kept wanting to hate him after what was revealed (no spoilers here, so you'll have to read to find out what he did.) And being Kate, God I love her, she is not willing to accept his excuses or apologies. She's a stubborn woman. But can you blame her. Luckily, Kate's business is booming and she has that as a distraction.
During this book, we get a lot of inner dialogue. Kate dealing with her heart and her mind. Should she forgive and forget? Or keep thinking about the hot sexy man, and the sexual pleasure that only one Asher Young can give her? Sounds like a no brainer to me!! Well, you will have to read to find out the conclusion!! And trust me, I was NOT expecting that ending!!!
I'd like to point out one particular scene that had me going YES YES YES!!! No, not that scene. It's not all about sex with me, guys. Although, that was pretty amazing too!! Lol. But the one with her parents and brother. If I could of, I would of high fived Kate, and throat punched her brother's girlfriend, after I kicked her brother in the balls. I'm proud of you Kate.
In conclusion, I loved this series. Kate was a different kind of heroine. She was refreshing. And Asher. Yes please. I'll take one of him!! If you haven't 1-clicked this series yet, what are you waiting for!! In the meantime, I'll be waiting to see what Lila Monroe has for us next!!

Lila does it again
This is the third installment in this series, and once again I was sucked into Asher and Kate's story. Asher has Kate reeling, she doesn't know if she can ever trust him again after learning about the bet. Asher really wants to make Kate see that he isn't that guy now, he truly cares and wants to see her be successful. He wants to earn her trust back, but Kate feels so betrayed, she isn't sure about him, and doesn't want to put herself out there again, vulnerable to bring hurt. In this story there is so much drama, and we get more involved with Kate, though I think we are all pulling for her to see Asher for the great guy that he really is. I really enjoyed this series, watching, and experiencing it unfold, and transform. Lila has a great way of taking you on a journey with her writing, the plot is creative and entertaining, and at times unexpected, plus the characters are strong likable individuals, and you can't help but root for them. I look forward to reading more from this author. I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
