I received a copy of this book from the author and though a review wasn’t required, I knew I had to post my honest, voluntary impression upon finishing it.
Marlee has written a riveting story ten years after the boy she loved broke her heart and now comes back into her life to safeguard her and her team with his team as they travel to Brazil to help the people in villages who need care.
Celeste is a children’s doctor and has enjoyed her profession bringing hope and healing to children and parents alike where fear lived before she and her team showed up.
Dario has spent ten years regretting breaking Celeste’s heart that night and hopes maybe she’ll give him a chance to “come clean” about what she saw that night. Her hurt is still raw and she tries to avoid him and that conversation but slowly she sees he’s changed now and is considering giving him a chance when she is kidnapped. What the kidnappers don’t know is she possesses the skills to escape which she does twice in one night and is finally rescued when Dario appears and asks her to trust him and drop so he can catch her!
This was a story which is full of intrigue, broken hearts, pain and longings for a second chance between two people who never stopped loving each other even when one betrayed the other! Her getting kidnapped just crystallized the desire for one to find him and for him to do the same!
I really enjoyed this story which you will find hard put to lay down- I couldn’t and read it in one day! I enjoyed the plot, the characters and the opportunity for two people to review the incident from ten years ago and make a decision to either try again or walk away.
I recommend this book wholeheartedly and know you will love it as much as I did!
I voluntarily reviewed "SAVING CELESTE" was given freely by the author for my honest opinion kept you hooked from beginning with emotional turmoil, heart break, trust issues, betrayal, intrigue, danger, kidnapping keeping on edge. Celeste now a doctor along with her team cares for children & parents in need of healing & care which means travelling to Brazil not expecting her protection be none other than Dario known as "Ghost". Dario was caught in a bad position 10yrs ago that Celeste caught breaking up with him heart broken not giving him a chance to explain. Celeste ends up getting kidnapped while in Brazil her captures aren't aware she's strong very capable of escaping ending up with Dario rescuing her giving her a chance to see he's changed. Will Celeste end up forgiving Dario for the past when she hears the explanation of what she saw & hopefully get their HEA so many twists to this well written page turner.
Saving Celeste, was another heart-felt, heart-stopping read by author Marlee Blake. Dario "Ghost" Yanakov and Celeste were highschool sweethearts who planned on doing life together. Ten years later, after many shed tears, heartbreaks and joys, they're reunited on a mission of compassion. While their love still remained, their reality of heartbreak and lost dreams still remained. Written with faith, this story truly proved that with God, all things are possible. Even after ten years, God had given them a choice, as well as a chance, to rekindle what was once broken. Throughout their mission, the danger that escalated and truth - God put more love and truth in their ever growing trust. I truly enjoyed this book and Blake pulled me in from the prologue. I could hardly put it down and gave it 5 out of 5 stars!!
Wow! This book was amazing! Dario “Ghost” & Celeste’s journey was a long one.
Celeste broke up with him after she found him kissing another woman not long after she refused to sleep with him until marriage.
10 years go by before they see each other again.
The story is well told. I love how Dario has never stopped loving Celeste. This is a tender heartfelt story filled with suspense and plenty of action, and even a bit of humor.
Celeste can definitely take care of herself, which is nice to see a strong female character. She is a woman of strong faith and character.
This story is also about forgiveness, faith and trust. It is clean and wholesome. I am looking forward to more books by this author and I will be reading the other books in this series. Highly recommend
This was a second chance story with Christian undertones. Nothing overert or over the top.
Ten years have passed since they were teens and both pursued their own careers, while mourning the loss of each other through poor choices (mainly his, but she didn't listen to an explanation).
She is leaving on a six month stint with Doctors Without Borders, while he and his team are assigned as security for them.
Finally they get the opportunity to discuss the past, and reveal the truth about it.
My opinion is that, while heartbreaking, the time apart provided them both an opportunity to grow and mature, which ,as not have happened had they remained together since their teenage years.
Dario “Ghost” & Celeste’s journey was a long one. Celeste broke up with him after she found him kissing another woman not long after she refused to sleep with him until marriage. 10 years have passed and they find each other again. The story is well written, and the characters are fully developed and work well with each other. I love that Celeste is a strong FMC and can take care of herself. She has strong faith which you don't see written as much. This story has forgiveness, faith and trust at the forefront. It is clean and wholesome. Highly recommend
Wow, this is an amazing book. Celeste and Dario's story is one of the best. Just getting to know this authors work and simply love her approach to giving us such a great read. There is so much going on in this book. Suspense. Action, mystery and let's not forget the amazing romance. Can't wait to read more, hopefully in this series. I highly recommend this book.
This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Wondering if there would be a happy ever after, will Celeste save herself before someone else does? It was a very good book. I loved that it revolved around the soloman security but I could read it as a standalone.
