Centering prayer is called such because it has the effect of centering your life by uniting your person with the divine. Centering prayer, according to St. John of the Cross, creates an interior silence where the Spirit anoints the soul and heals your deepest wounds. Also, as a result of this silence, we are better able to hear the voice of God and his wisdom.
Come with me as we enter on this spiritual journey towards union with the Divine, and in union with him, find emotional wholeness, spiritual vitality, and divine wisdom.
I was born an odd sort (in the best possible sense)--always intrigued by the spiritual. For much of my life, I have sought to understand the "other" dimension. This divine quest has led me to a deepening personal knowledge of Christ and his Father, as well as a longing for transformation, both for myself and others. I have expressed these sacred pursuits in variety of ways, including writing. My first book, "The Path of Wisdom," was released in early 2012.
These days, I live in beautiful Colorado and enjoy the great outdoors, sporting events, and epic movies. One of my primary interests is a growing fascination with Celtic Christianity. I also serve as an ordained priest in Basileia Abbey, a Christian community in the Convergence movement.
Some of my writing is overtly Christian and some of it is not, but all of it falls under a broad, common theme--personal or collective transformation. I hope you will join me in this journey towards transformation and click follow up above.
I liked the author's outline and explanation of the process of centering prayer. His descriptions and ideas of what to expect were spot on. The only fault I found was poor editing. This tended to distract from the excellent message of this short book.
