Six hundred minutes. That’s all it took ex-SEAL Kade Kingston to find trouble his first day home. He’d managed to survive covert operations in the hostile mountains of Afghanistan, only to be brought down by a baseball bat. If he had the first five hundred minutes back, he would have only had one drink before insisting his old friend tell him what the hell was going on. As it stood now, he and Sutton were both dead in the water—literally and figuratively. Six hundred minutes. That’s all it took for Kade Kingston to walk back into hell in his own backyard, losing everything in the process . . . including his freedom.

Inmate dog trainer, Harley Dash, knew Kade briefly as a teenager and was convinced of his innocence. Wanting to help the brooding ex-SEAL, she took it upon herself to force Kade into the Inmate Dog Training Program while she looked for a killer. With Kade confined, Harley and her father, along with two sexy SEALs, looked for evidence that would set Kade free.

Unfortunately, for Kade, Sutton's murder was just the tip of the iceberg in a case of corruption and murder, one that will send Kade and Harley into the Florida Everglades with a killer.

Will they survive the alligators of the Florida Everglades, or will the Dread Pirate Roberts exact his revenge?

4.5 The Brotherhood of The Princess Bride stars

Kade Kingston has been home for all of six hundred minutes before he looses everything he's worked so hard for, his freedom. Found guilty for a crime he did not commit sends him behind bars where he is forced to live out his days until his former SEAL team can prove his innocence. Days turn into weeks that in turn to months, with no word from his team, he becomes a man who is losing hope; that is until the ever stubborn Harley Dash decides to get him to care and hope again...
“Our souls are intertwined, but they've been forced apart and they’re waiting to be reunited,"

Harley Dash knows right down to her bones that Kade is innocent, and instead of sitting back waiting for The Brute Squad to show up, Harley and her dad start their own little investigation. All the while they chance a stolen glance, a longing touch and a forbidden kiss. It would be their luck that fate would bring them together now of all times, when there were so many missed chances in their past. With so much against them, they have to stay alive long enough for Kade to be set free and fulfill the promises he's made.
“When I get out, I’m gonna make that dream a reality...Hard and fast the first time since I’ll have no control after all these years of wanting, then slowly until we can’t move . . . See you Wednesday, dream weaver,”

Framed is the newest release by C.P. Smith, I have been a huge fan from day one because she effortlessly feeds the romantic in me. Kade and Harley's story for example, C.P. manage to give us that hopeful feeling and the belief in soul mates even when the hero is behind bars; it speaks of the talent she can weave. In their story I was able to fall in love, laugh, cry and be fully engaged page after page.

Kade, is our ever possessive alpha hero, he loves with all his heart and protects with all his might. Harley is our stubborn spitfire, who loves fiercely and selflessly. Completing their squad are Harley's dad and two of Kade's former teammates. Harley was able to hold her own with all the men, which just added more fun to the story line. Their story is one to live through more for the cracking the case than anything else. This is a stand alone alternating POV, that is recommended to my friends who believe in soul mates and is a romantic at hart.

Some of my favorite quotes are:
“I’m not stubborn,” I lied, which made Dad scoff. “Fine, I’m a little stubborn, but he’s an overbearing caveman with a possessive complex that rivals Christian Grey’s.”

“I can walk you know.” “We cavemen like to carry our women,” he answered with a whack from his strong hand to my ass.

“What are you superman or something? Able to bounce bullets off your chest?” “I’m a SEAL. I don’t need a red cape,”

If you are looking for your next must read look no further. This book was amazing from beginning to the very end I was hooked and I mean hooked. We all know what it's like to have high hopes for a book only for you to find yourself skimming and just wanting to finish so you can move on to your next book. This book Framed was not that at all. Months ago when I first read the description of this book I knew I had to read it, add to that that C.P. Smith is one of my favorite authors and this becomes one of those books you mark and watch and impatiently wait for.

Kade didn't have the easiest life growing up when his mother and father left him but he had his younger brother and his Pop's. Now Kade has nothing, coming home form his duty as a Seal to help and be with his dying Pop's Kade finds himself at the wrong place at the wrong time and is imprisoned for murdering a childhood friend. Harley can never forget Kade first seeing him when in high school and she was knocked off the cheer pyramid only to have Kade help her up and again in her early twenties Kade has always been on her mind. So when Kade is convicted Harley and her father an ex-seal himself know that Kade is innocent.

Volunteering to help train abused dogs and pairing them up with inmates Harley and her father know this may be one small thing that helps Kade while he sits in prison, and since Kade happens to be at the same place that Harley works Harley asks if Kade can participate. When Kade see's Harley he can't believe his eyes Harley is the girl no one could ever hold a candle to and the woman he hasn't been able to forget since he first saw her in high school. Now standing here in his prison she is too much of a temptation so Kade flatly denies the idea of a dog to train.

Kade has wanted Harley for years but seeing her while he rots away is just too much, till he see's her in danger and Kade knows he has to protect her. Now seeing each other every week the feelings they each have for the other are harder and harder to deny but Kade has lost hope after his Seal brothers turned their backs on him. Finding out Kades "brothers" left him to hang Harley decides to take matter into her own hands (with the help of her father) and find the truth that will free Kade, and ends up running into the men they thought left Kade out to dry.

Now everyone wants to not only free Kade but find out the truth of who really killed Kades friend. Everyone except for the men who actually killed Kade's friend, and they plan to do anything and everything necessary to keep Kade in prison and keep themselves free even if others have to pay right along with Kade.

Let me first just say not only did I love the idea of this story and Hot possessive Kade being wrongly imprisoned but how C.P. Smith added the abused dogs about turned me into a puddle of goo. The little(nothing that should be hard for anyone to read) she gives us about the abused dogs had my eyes watering and falling in love even more with this book. This book had it all, suspense, funny, steamy, great characters, a great storyline, and an amazing epilogue(which is my weakness).

Harley was a great heroine, she was smart, kind, and strong, but she also knew when to listen(no TSTL heroine here). the side characters were great they added so much to this book, and left me wanting many more books to come about them in the future. And then we have Kade. Get your bibs ladies because he is drool worthy (ok maybe that was a little too corney, but you get what I'm saying) I loved him, hot-check, smart-check, kind- check, strong-um yeah check that too, protective and possessive- are to mild of words to describe Kade. He was a hero brought low but he still held his dignity and who he was. When he saw Harley again he knew he had to have her and when she was in danger his whole forces and world revolved around keeping her safe even if at the sacrifice of himself (that bib comment isn't looking so corny now is it lol).

This is a must read, but not only that this is one of those books you pre-order and set other reading materials on a schedule so they don't interfere with this book. This is a book you want to drop everything for and whole up in a cave after setting copious amounts of snacks, and sugar, and junk food out to appease your kids so you can concentrate on reading this book. And last but not least this is yet another testament of C.P. Smith's amazing talent, she can draw you in like most can only dream, the worlds she creates are magical and ones you wish you could jump in and live. When this book was first announced I posted "I can't wait for this one!!" and all I can say the wait was well worth it.

5 “As You Wish" Stars!!

“Six hundred minutes, that’s all it took to lose everything he’d worked so hard for, including his freedom.”

Kade and Harley have been aware of each other for years each wanting the other without ever doing anything about it, until now....

I adore the heroes that C.P. Smith creates and Kade was absolutely no exception. I loved watching Kade claim his woman and how he does everything in his power to protect what he considers his. Kade kept wanting to assert his dominance, and the most important thing to him was keeping Harley safe and away from the danger that surrounded him. Harley was just as determined to clear her man’s name. She waited long enough for her dream man and she was on a mission to get Kade out of prison and into her waiting arms.

 photo PicsArt_1442168446843_zpswrhxot3e.jpg

Harley is a trainer for abused dogs and runs a program pairing up dogs with inmates at the prison where Kade is incarcerated. Harley and her father (who is “Team Kade” ALL THE WAY!!) thinks this may be something to help Kade keep his spirits up while in prison waiting for his SEAL brothers to show up from their latest mission and help prove his innocence. When Kade sees Harley he can't believe his eyes. Harley is “the one that got away”, and the woman he hasn't forgotten since he first saw her in high school. Kade initially turns down the training program until he witnesses an incident with a fellow inmate that put Harley in harms way, deciding she needs his protection he agrees to the program.

There is a lot going on with the suspense story line and all the secondary characters play an important role. I gotta say that I fell in love with Kade’s SEAL brothers and I am hoping that Prez and D get their own books. They certainly provided comedy relief when needed, especially D..... LOVED him!!!

All in all, Framed is a book you will won't be able to put down, and when your done you want you'll want more, more, more !! It's filled with fantastic secondary characters, a great plot, and a tale of love ever after. A fantastic read that had me laughing at times and swooning for the hero throughout the entire book. The heart of the read was the love story between Kade and Harley, but I have to say I loved the parallels and quotes from the movie "The Princess Bride". I highly recommend this book to everyone, but especially to readers who love ALPHA heroes, guaranteed you'll NOT be disappointed!!!

I LOVED this book! This was the perfect mix of suspense, romance and drama. I loved both Kade and Harley. The chemistry between these two was fantastic and the sexy scenes were super hot. This book also had one of my favorite epilogues ever - it was the perfect ending. I really loved this book and I can't wait to read more by this author!

Wow. C.P. Smith just keeps getting better and better. This is by far my favorite book.

I haven’t been quite sure what I was in the mood to read but this was everything I was looking for. It was romantic suspense, hot and steamy, great chemistry and a great story.

I loved every moment between Harley and Kade. I loved how they met in high school and never forgot each other. I loved every moment they had while he was in prison and they were training dogs together. I loved how protective he was of her, both while he was in prison and after he was released.

My heart broke for Kade. He had nothing except his brother, his grandfather Pop and his career as a Navy SEAL. He willingly gave up his career to help his brother take care of Pop after he got sick but before that could happen, he lost everything after he was accused and found guilty of murder. After the guilty verdict, Kade was sent to the same prison that Harley volunteered at, training dogs with inmates. I loved this part of the story, and how Kade bonded with his dog.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a romantic suspense without some kind of mystery to solve and that comes in Harley, her dad and a couple of Kade’s SEAL friends trying to prove he’s innocent. This was definitely a rollercoaster that kept me glued to my kindle. And I have to say, that I definitely fell in love with Prez and Mickey D (The other SEALs) and I hope both of them get stories! Actually, I wouldn’t mind a SEAL series from C.P. Smith. I think she’d rock that!

I also loved Harley’s dad. They had a great relationship and he was funny!

My one issue, and it wasn’t big, was Harley’s name. It kept throwing me off and for some reason my brain kept changing it to Haley instead. I had to keep reminding myself her name was Harley.

Other than that, this book was pure genius from the author. I can’t wait for her next one!

❤ TOTAL 5 STAR READ! ❤

“What makes you so sure his team will come? Leave no man behind, baby girl...”

So, I literally just finished my ARC of FRAMED. I'd been putting it off because I just knew once I read it, I'd (A) not want to put it down, so I needed a block of uninterrupted time to read without any distractions. And (B) once it was finished, I'd be so sad and want to restart it immediately. C.P. Smith hit my radar when A Reason to Breathe came out. It was love at first book for me and I knew she would become one of my top favorite go-to authors. And she has. I have loved every book of hers that I've read, and I knew with the blurb for FRAMED, I would love it as well. And I do. It was a fast paced, heart stoppingly wonderful ride. I was hooked from page one. And I mean that very literally. My kindle was glued to my hands all day!

Kade Kingston is my latest book boyfriend crush. He was perfect! ❤ Wrongfully accused of murder his first night home from mission as a Navy SEAL, he spends two years locked away. Losing hope that his brethren would show up to help prove his innocence. He's starting to give in to that hate when in walks Harley Dash, the dog trainer who is part of an awesome program that helps inmates retrain wounded dogs. (I really hope that program is real too) She blows his world apart with one look into her eyes.

Harley is quite possibly one of THE best heroines I have ever read! Stubborn, independent, headstrong and absolutely head over heals in love with Kade. She wasn't a pushover and wanted to be in the thick of things to help clear his name. She also knew when she needed to bite her tongue and 'do as she was told' even if she didn't like it. She and Kade met years before in high school and again a few years later, so there was a history there we got to see in flashbacks. Unfortunately, the stars hadn't aligned for them and their timing was never just right. Until now.

This book had it all! Mystery, action, hilarity, a sweet romance of two people who are soul mates and meant to be together finally finding one another. And some steamy scenes to keep it interesting ;) Oh, and did I mention the supporting cast?! Harley's dad was awesome and I loved him. Kade's SEAL buddies were a freaking riot and I really hope Ms. Smith intends to write books for them too!

“Whoa, you are The Brute Squad... but with brains.” “ No darlin'... We're Navy SEALs.”

I seriously do not have one negative thing to say about this book. I loved every single aspect. The romance was perfect. The chemistry between Harley and Kade was off the charts hot! Even though they hadn't seen each other in years, they never forgot about each other. And when they locked eyes, sparks flew! No. They sizzled! The action had me on the edge of my seat. The hilarious antics had me laughing out loud so often I'm sure my neighbors heard me. The steamy scenes were yum. And the bad guy definitely got what he deserved! And the epilogue! Omg it was the perfect ending! ❤

So all in all, I'd say C.P. Smith hit it out of the park again with another fabulous book. I am seriously thinking of rereading it all over again. I can see a major book hangover in my future....

“You know what I wish for now?” Tell me, I asked breathlessly. Reaching up to cup my face, he replied hoarsely, “Just you.”

P.S. please please please turn this into a series and write a few more books for D, Prez and Bette! :) (or if you wanna have some extra fun, just one book with all three! ;) )

Oh, and I seriously had to watch The Princess Bride after reading this book since it had been mentioned so often and its been years since I've seen that movie!

Kade expressing how much he liked her in high school but didn't pursue her and slept around! him being lucky he didn't have little kids running around makes me think he slept around alot and sometimes didn't use condoms YUCK! Everyone thinking how hot h is and thier cocks hard. Bad guy taking pictures of h naked and touching herself while he is masturbating!EWW! h still friends with ex ! he pops up once calls her honey and kisses her forehead. they really are just friends now. still weird because they were married and they obviously had sex(he took her virginity).
Things I liked: they really are cute together. The dancing on the beach. When he expressing how much he loves her! Some of his quotes about how he feels for h were beautiful!his possessive alphaness and also his sweet side(which came later) lol. his dreams. no games between them. How h is strong minded ,fiesty but knew when to listen and not over do it . how much she loves him . How they both would do anything for each other. The suspense part was sort of interesting. Love his his brother , his two friends and her dad:) love the epilogue probably my favorite part!I know I forgot some things but that's pretty much it.All in All first half just ok second half I enjoyed and liked more!

This is why I try to always give authors at least two shots before tagging them as unreadable.

I read "A Reason To Believe" and was far from impressed by the mystery storyline and female MC, but I did sense that this author could do well if she wrote something that didn't go OTT to unbelievable and absurd.

And, she did just that with "Framed." She brought the right mix of funny, OTT, and serious with this one.

It's not so much a mystery or suspense; the bad guys are laid out early on, but there's lots of danger to keep you occupied. Overall, nicely done.

It's an OTT romance with a possessive, bossy ex SEAL as the leading man & a female lead who's gung-ho, stubborn, and a little funny... BUT, manages not to be TSTL. There are a lot of cutesy moments between the couple. Overall, nicely done.

The secondary characters brought a little comedy relief, and fit perfectly into the storyline - didn't steal the show, but weren't used as mere storyline props either. Overall, nicely done.

Climatic ending with hero moment. Satisfying epilogue. Again, nicely done.

Why Not Five Stars

coincidence plot advancement ...

The unfolding non-romantic plot elements were mostly reasonable. That said, there are a few elements that are a little too 'aha' it's as simple as that, such as his reason for being released from prison, but it's fiction and still within a plausible realm. I personally just would have preferred a little more depth and less 'what a coincidence' to such pivotal elements in the storyline.

Pacing...

I stayed interested throughout, but there were times (especially the 65- 85% mark) that the pacing sagged. Unless there's some deep reflection, profound purpose, or something highly entertaining happening, I prefer meat and potatoes writing.

Basically, there's quite a bit of fat in this story that could be trimmed down to make it read smoother. The extended stay at the prison er beach house, for example, had a lot of fat. All the points the author wanted to make at the beach house could've been combined within a couple of scenes (one chapter.)

Bottom Line

This isn't a perfect book for me. It didn't wow and awe me. But, I enjoyed it, and I'm very glad that I gave this author another shot. It's a solid 3 star read, which is my version of it's good and worth the time, but don't expected to be wowed, ooooooh'ed, or awed by it.

I desperately want to love this author's writing style, that's why I'm still trying, but I don't think it's working for me TBH.

Narration was switching from 1st (h's) to 3rd (H's) POV and it felt like some scenes weren't cohesive. The caveman behavior like getting super angry for being OTT possessive or "Who does this pussy belong to? It's mine! Say it!" then they start yelling like possessed "Mine!" " Yours!" had me in tears.
description

"You can't leave the house!" or "You can't wear a bikini ever again!", etc. induced a major eye roll.

The first part was quite good (only a few eye rolls) and I enjoyed it, I skimmed the middle since it was too ridiculous for my taste, I enjoyed the ending and the epilogue.

The plot had a little action and suspense, too tame for me though. The hero was a bossy, possessive and protective alpha SEAL, but he was way OTT which made him look goofy. The heroine, I didn't love but she was okay, I guess. She had TSTL/doormat and feisty/stubborn moments.

It worked for me to some degree, but I struggled to finish it.

3.5 The Brute Squad Stars

description

"As You Wish"
C.P. takes us on a journey of crime, suspense, second chances and love. Framed is about two people, who met one night on the football field back in high school, and have never forgotten each other through-out the years. Through their own doing, or certain circumstances, these two have been kept apart for long enough. No more. It's time to take risks to see what the future could possibly hold. Are they willing to go the distance and take chances? The future is looking bleak and definitely uncertain, depending on how things go down, and it won't be easy as it's a dangerous path full of thorns. If they can make it through, mostly unscathed, they just might be able to reach the promise of each other at the end, providing they can keep safe, keep the faith, and just hold on for whatever comes their way.

Do you love the movie, The Princess Bride? Then you'll appreciate all of the references through-out the book that are related to this movie. The Brute Squad, whom I've fallen in love with, had me cracking up and rooting them on. I loved Kade's friends, Prez and Mickey D. They truly added to the story and made for some good humor, but they also were awesome with Harley and Kade. Their role as secondary characters definitely proved how deep their love, support, and loyalty runs.

This book is full of Alpha males, humor, The Princess Bride references, good guys, bad guys, crime, multiple points of views and steamy moments. It also has a few moments where I wish I had bleach to wash my eyes and brain out, as I didn't appreciate one particular scene or the references to it thereafter. I get that the scene was there for a certain purpose - however, I could still have done without reading it. Maybe it's just me, who knows- but moving on.

I LOVED the epilogue. It was cute. It had some humor. It was sweet in parts and it gave us a peek into their future and good closure.

What I liked about this book:
1. Humor

2. The Princess Bride references

3. The Brute Squad

4. The scenes where Harley and Kade reconnected while he was in prison

5. The epigloue

6. Some of Kade's dreams he had with Harley- it reminded me of Layne's Dream Rocky from Golden Trail by Kristen Ashley

7. Harley was no push over with a lack of a spine. She was a spitfire and could hold her own. She knew when to let things be and when to push. I felt she had the perfect balance.

8. Kade- for the most part I liked him, but he could be too overbearing, and why couldn't he be gentle just once in the bedroom? Okay, I get why, but still, he could have taken a time or two for my viewing eyes to slow his roll. In the end, I did appreciate his sweet side and the fact that he could apologize when he needed to. He could be funny and he was a good protective man of his family.

Framed by C.P. Smith
Kade & Harley
THE BRUTE SQUAD STIKES AGAIN

Well... lemme see... I FUCKING LOVED THIS BOOK! It sucked me in to it's fold from word one and kept me hooked until I uttered it's last sentence. Framed is not a pretty little love story wrapped with an adorable bow on top... NOPE, it's angsty, it's gritty, and it's all kinds of sexy! Mark my words, you'll be biting your fingernails and swearing at your kindle for hours, but it'll be well worth it once you reach the conclusion. I don't know how she does it, but CP tends to come up with some of the most highest tension grabbing scenes I've ever read. I think I had a jaw tick throughout this entire book.

Our lead female character, Harley is so damn adorable. She's got it all... humor, sex appeal, and above all, she's smart. And she may be a tad bit stubborn, bwahaha.. what heroine isn't right? Harley is out to prove that Kade Kingston did not commit the crime he has been imprisoned for, but with all the odds against her, his future seems bleak. That is until a couple of smokin' hot Navy SEALS step in to help her!

Kade is all kinds of fucked up. He comes home from serving his country to take care of his dying Pops and finds himself framed for a murdered he didn't commit and thrown in jail. With his hands tied in prison, he has to rely on Harley and his SEALS to prove his innocence. He's bossy, he's controlling, and he has my attention! I loved how he treasured Harley. Although she may have felt smothered and overwhelmed, I can honestly say I'd kill for that kind of attention. He was extremely domineering when it came to Harley, but what do you expect from a former SEAL in love?

The supporting character cast was excellent. Those SEAL friends of Kade can protect me any day of the week. Prez and D were not only hotter than satan's ass crack, they were "The Brute Squad" and I can't help wondering if either of them will eventually get their own book in the future. Bette, Harley's friend is like one of the best side characters evah. She's hilarious, she independent, and she's a potty mouth to boot. Love that about her. I think she just might fit well with one of the hotties mentioned above!! The villains in this story were just right. I can't mention any names without divulging some pertinent information, but I will say this... CP Smith writes the best fucking bad guys ever!!!

This story makes reference to the movie The Princess Bride, which I myself did not see, YET, but will be on it soon. Even though I didn't see that movie, it didn't detour me from laughing my ass off at their references to it. All in all, this is a well rounded story. It starts out with a bang, keeps your attention, and let's you down with a jolt. The pacing was fast, the dialogue flowed with effectiveness and the writing style is one of a kind! The characters were relatable and the tension leading up to the conclusion was excellence.

**** 5 Cranky Stars ****

Harley Dash has had a crush on Kade since her high school days. She knows, deep down, that Kade should not be where he is.

She gets Kade involved in the inmate dog training program that she volunteers for. The program is to help inmates develop empathy and bond with abused dogs. While Harley tries to keep Kade sane, her father and Kade's seal friends start working on getting him released.

Kade Kingston is a SEAL who comes home and finds himself convicted of a crime he didn't commit. He sits patiently knowing his "team" will do whatever it takes to clear his name. What he doesn't expect is to come across Harley.

He remembers the hot sexy cheerleader he helped back in high school. He wanted her, like he wants her now, but believes they live in two different worlds. He joins her program just so he can keep this sexy firecracker safe from the other inmates.

Can Harley help save Kade or will the danger get to the both of them? Can Kade keep Harley safe?

I was so engrossed in this story that I read it one sitting. It's my favorite kind of novel, one that you think you know where it's going and you have it all figured out and then BAM, unexpected twists and turns are thrown in.

It's action packed with a sexy alpha male that will have you on the edge of your seat.

Highly recommended.

Romantic, funny, suspense, steamy and sexy! A great read!

The sassy, bold heroine of this fast-moving book… will appeal to fans who like their tale geared more toward heroine who go after what they want and are not afraid to get it. Let's not forget the hero who is a bad-ass ALPHA who will do everything for the woman he LOVE. I truly enjoyed it from beginning to end.

Simply fascinating… Smith's style is always a pleasure to read.

Kade just quit the Navy, after 12 years, to come home and take care of his cancer-stricken grandfather.

But after being back for only 10 hours, he lands himself in jail for murder. A murder he didn't commit of course, but he's in jail now, and unless his SEAL buddies come and find evidence to prove his innocence, he might have to stay for 7 to 15 years. And his unit has just been employed for 24 months.

Enter Harley.
She's been halfway in love with Kade since she was a 16-year-old cheerleader.
But he never noticed her.
Only he did notice her, he just thought he wasn't good enough for this amazing girl.

Now Harley is divorced and working as a volunteer dog rehabilitation specialist in Kade's jail. And her dad - who always believed Kade was a good guy - made her promise to get Kade to join her programm.

The attraction is still there after almost 15 years, and it's growing more and more...

Together ... and with the help of his SEAL buddies, they try to find out what really happened that night.
But things are getting dangerous inside and outside of prison!!!!

I REALLY LOVED THE BOOK!

This was my first CP Smith book - but once I see the word SEAL anywhere, I have to read it.
I might be a tiny little SEAL #Fangirl ☺

description

This story was everything I love in my romantic suspense books.
Lots of really hot and sexy navy SEALs and an adorable female, who has all those big and bad guys watching out for her - but she's tough enough to take care of herself.
Lots of suspensy moments and moving moments and sad moments and funny moments...
Added to all that, we have the dogs in Harley's rehab-program. I really liked that. How Kade clicked with his Buck. And Harley's Buttercup diva-dog ☺

Perfect story.
I just missed the sexiness a bit, in the beginning - BUT of course, we can't really have sexy moments when one of us is in jail :(((
BUT - I'm not telling you when exactly - but it might probably happen somewhere in the book - that Kade won't be in jail anymore ;)

A tiny little thing I didn't like - the characters talk to themselves a lot - OUT LOUD. A bit weird...but ok. ☺

I really enjoyed the story - you just have to keep reading - to find out if and when and how badly hurt, Kade will get out of jail.

Framed was a really suspensy and funny and moving and sexy and adorable Romantic Suspense story. You'll sooo want your own Kade after reading it!

Framed brings us the story of Kade Kingston and Harley Dash, one’s a former Navy SEAL and the other volunteer at the prison as an inmate dog trainer. But these two have more history than just a few weekly visits within an enclosed and locked down prison yard.

Kade returns home from his stint as a SEAL only to find himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Convicted of a crime he did not commit lands him in prison waiting for his team to return to clear his name. But it isn’t his team that starts to dig first. Harley never forgot the boy that helped her off the ground and gave her a smile that would weaken the resolve of any teenage girl. Years later, Kade is still haunting her thoughts and with him behind bars for a crime she knows he isn’t capable of, she can’t help but do everything she can to clear his name. But first she has to get close to the man. Harley volunteers at the prison, uniting inmates with dogs that have been abused as a way to both offer training to the pups, but giving both man and man’s best friend a chance to bond. To keep the hate and anger from invading and taking over Kade, she knows he needs this, needs her. And she isn’t about to let the darkness swallow the man she never stopped thinking about.

CP Smith delivers not only another great alpha-male romance, but a fantastic suspense/thriller read with Framed. Toss in the addition of two more HOT SEALS and this reader was in heaven. At first I was wondering how deep of a connection I’d find with two characters that I knew were going to have limited interactions at the start of the story – I mean with one behind bars, it’s not like we’d get nonstop access to watch a love story develop, but what I found was that I found my connection with these two characters on their own – in their own heads and it was just an added bonus to watch them interact briefly at the start.

I also enjoyed that given the storyline had a lot of room to be overly dramatic, CP kept it restrained. The focus never went off the path, nothing felt overly done or over the top. The suspense and drama were blended perfectly to give the romance more dimension.

There are a few things that I’ve come to expect when I get my hands on a novel by CP Smith. Alpha men, mature women who have their shit together and couples who fall in love and mean it. Instant love can be a bad thing at times, but with CP’s books, it is always a great thing. Because her characters are mature enough to know their hearts and also know a good thing when they see it. I think that coupled with the characters being more mature (in nature and age) allows that to transpire without it seeming too unrealistic.

Another great read delivered from this author!

I received this for an honest review.. I have to say WOW!!! I thought I loved this author before but now I am in love with her and her writing... Are you looking for the hot alpha fix this one is it!!

Kade and Harley have bounced around each other for years each wanting the other without ever doing anything about it... Their time is now.. (sorry I wont give spoilers)

This book absolutely blew me away.. I feel like every time I pick up this authors work I just get blown away and this book although a little different from her other books I felt like with this book I saw this author really spread her wings and it was just simply amazing..

I was sucked right into this story and felt every-time I was pulled away regret that I couldn't read the very next page.. This book absolutely has a bit of everything and at points will leave you breathless it did me.. I loved the relationships in this book all of them from the secondary characters to the mains.. 3.0-3.25 RATING- I hesitated going in with this one because the blurb just wasn't calling to me. Still, I'm a fan of this author so decided to take a chance. Nothing wrong with the writing, editing, etc. I realize I'm in the minority here but this just wasn't one of my favorites from C.P Smith. Still a fan!

Another winner for author CP Smith. She weaves a tale of suspense and love that hooks you from the beginning and leaves you wanting more.
I was graciously gifted an advanced copy and I'm so lucky I did.
If you love Navy SEALS who are all Alpha and the women who can bring them to their knees than this is the book for you.
I look forward to reading it again and HIGHLY recommend this book and author.

She does it again!!

I haven't read a book by CP Smith that I haven't fallen desperately in love with. The woman can write, people!! Her characters are so well developed, her writing flows beautifully, and the dialogue is so engaging. Not to mention the steamy times are more than steamy... downright melting!

Let me start with Harley. I love her. I've read a lot of books and she is right up there with all my favorite heroines. She is strong, confident, and has such a big heart. She also knows how to get stuff done! And I love what her job is in this book. Helping abused dogs come back to themselves and learn to trust and be trained while rehabilitating prisoners is something I would love to be a part of. And it's the perfect job for this character! She's awesome!

Kade... I honestly just wanted to climb into this book and wrap myself around him. He's alpha but it's not the same kind of alpha attitude we find so often in books. He has a side to him that isn't afraid to show emotion or be open about something. He doesn't have to lock it all up tight and that's what a real man is. He is protective and gruff and why wouldn't he be. He's been accused of something he didn't do and is serving time for it. He has every right to be bitter and vengeful.

Then these two find each other after spending years wanting one another and bam!! It's fireworks and racing hearts and plenty of swoony moments that made my stomach flip in such a delicious way. I wouldn't call it insta love. Soul mates is the perfect description but it is so much more than that. I think that's why I felt it so deeply between them. This was still a build over time but it was unique.

The plot was amazing like all of CP Smith's plots are. The mystery and thrill of it only adds to the heart-stopping romance between Kade and Harley.

I loved everything about this story especially the secondary characters that added humor and depth to the Kade and Harley's story. I highly recommend ANYTHING by CP Smith and especially Framed. I hope to find out more about Prez and D and also Bette.
If you love an alpha male that knows how to make his woman swoon and is badass in every way that counts, with a plot that will have you on the edge of your seat, read this book.

5 HUGE Stars that make me want to read it again!!

I've read a couple of books by this author now and absolutely loved them. She writes sassy heroines, "to die for" alpha males and story lines that are gripping from start to finish. However, for some reason, I just could not get into C.P Smith's latest release "Framed." I don't know whether it was because I wasn't in the right mind set when I read it or whether it was just the fact that this book just wasn't for me but it took me a whole week to finish it, the plot not capturing my attention and the romance element leaving me a little... meh.

Ex Navy Seal Kade Kingston should have been everything I love in a book boyfriend but there were moments his possessiveness left me frustrated. I'm happy with my alpha's being somewhat controlling but there were times (in my opinion) he went a little too far. And as for Harley, the minute she decided she would happily give up her position in the dog training program for a man she hardly knew, my heart sank a little. I didn't want her decision to be as easy as it was. After all, it wasn't just her colleagues she's be letting down but the inmates and the dogs too. On top of that, the minute Kade was released from prison, they jumped each other's bones. I get there was an attraction that had festered from years gone by and that that had only grown despite the pair being apart. However, realistically, they barely knew each other yet they very quickly jumped straight into a relationship.

In terms of the secondary plot that had lead to Kade serving time in prison, I kinda lost my way a little with it. There was just a lot of detail and a lot of names and somewhere along the line, I stopped connecting the dots. So when everything came to a head at the end, I didn't particularly get the why's, the who's and the when's.

The epilogue however, I did love. It was a perfect ending full of swoon worthy, heart melting romance, taking me five years into the future with this couple and where they were at left me with a big, cheesy grin on my face.

So all in all, I rated "Framed" ❤️❤️❤️

Being a big fan of insta-love I fell in love with C.P. Smith's books back when I first read A Reason to Breathe and I knew that Framed would be no exception. I mean, an ex-SEAL turned convict and the woman determined to help get him free? What's not to love?!

Harley has had a crush on Kade since the first time she saw him at a high school football game, and even though they're not exactly friends, or even acquaintances, she knows that he doesn't belong in prison. Determined to help him, she gets him into her Inmate Dog Training Program to help keep him sane while he's on the inside while her, her dad, and a couple of Kade's SEAL buddies start working on how to get him out.

Being abandoned by his parents at a young age, Kade was a bit of a bad boy in high school, so even though he was intrigued with Harley from the get-go, he knew he wasn't good enough for her. When she shows up in prison and tries to get him into her program he refuses until he decides that he needs to join to protect Harley from the rest of the inmates.

Watching their forbidden romance blossom while they spent time together in prison was the highlight of the book for me. The stolen looks and not so innocent touches really gave me high hopes for their relationship. And for them to learn that they've both wanted each other for the past 15 years but time just wasn't on their side? Sigh!

Unfortunately I felt like once Kade was freed and the hunt for the bad guys was on, the relationship took a bit of a back seat. Sure, there were some sexy times, and Kade's protectiveness and jealousy was there, but I really wanted more couple time and intimate moments between them.

That being said, the suspense aspect during the second half of the book was spot on. Of course we know who the baddies are, and even get inside their head from time to time, but wondering when they'd make their move had me on the edge of my seat.

Framed was a great read with decent suspense, smoking hot sexy times, and side characters that added a few LOL moments. If you're a fan of insta-love and alpha heroes then you should definitely check it out!

Kade was imprisoned for a murder that he swears he didn't commit. Harley is in charge of a program in the prison and believes Kade is innocent. She sets out to prove his innocence when sparks fly between them. This puts Harley in danger once Kade's enemies know what she means to him. I have to say C.P. Smith has done it again. I love all of her books and this one was no exception. The way she is able to keep the suspense and the reader on the edge of their seat until the end is amazing. Of course she writes great alpha males as well. Kade won't take no for an answer and wants to keep Harley safe at all cost. That's my kind of man. You can't go wrong with a C.P. Smith book. Every one is a great read.

CP Smith again delivers a book packed with all the feels! I was totally on board for a great story to escape into by the blurb, but by the end of the first paragraph I was completely hooked! I had to know what happened and see how Kade makes it through the challenge set before him. Throughout the story Kade continually made my heart twist - whether from hurting along with him or swooning from his intensity. I think Kade is one of my favorite Alpha males. His connection to Harley and the lengths he went to to protect his woman - you can't get much better than that!

Harley quickly won me over as a favorite heroine. Her strength and stubbornness and willingness to do whatever it took to help Kade made me want to have just a bit of her personality in me. Her heart is huge and her head was (usually) on straight. The depth of her feelings for Kade and how she showed it was beautiful.

I really cannot say enough for Kade and Harley's connection. There was just something there that drew me in and made me believe that they were perfectly meant to be.

CP Smith took me on a journey through this story that I just couldn't get enough of -- I so didn't want it to end. The excitement and nail biting from the suspense part of the story, the swoons from the romance part of the story, the laughter from the different story threads (secondary characters and a favorite movie theme -- trust me, you read it, you'll understand better what I'm meaning): she delivered on them all!!

So, saying all that.... what are you waiting for? Quit reading the reviews and go get your book and experience it for yourself! This is definitely a story not to be missed!!!

~4.5 stars~

This book was a pleasant surprise. It had me devouring the pages from beginning to end. It was a sweet romance with a good balance of suspense.

The pros:
* Offered as kindleunlimited
* Characters that I couldn't help but fall in love with
* The story had a very genuine feel to it
* A fast moving and exciting plot

The cons:
* I do love me some Navy Seals, but towards the end some of the stunts were just too far fetched and unrealistic

Overall, I'm really glad to have read this one and defiantely recommend it.
