Okay… I NEED to talk about this book. 👀🔥👩🏻‍🦰

Sequoia: Roots of Ember is the kind of sci-fi that grabs you from the beginning and simply does not let go. The pacing is incredibly fast, but without sacrificing the worldbuilding—which was honestly one of my favorite parts if not the best part.

The world of Sequoia is SO detailed that you don’t just read about it… you can see yourself there. The markets, food, training centers, streets, and all those little details made the setting feel tangible and alive. I could practically walk through these places alongside the characters.

Now, let’s talk about the romance. 👀❤️‍🔥

The slow burn is DELICIOUS. The tension builds gradually, and when things finally start paying off… SCREAMS. 😂🔥 It made the wait completely worth it.

And the plot twists?

I can’t say much without entering spoiler territory, but let’s just say there were moments where I genuinely had to stop and process what I had just read. 🥹

If you’re a reader who loves science fiction + romance, especially when you want an immersive world with a romance that takes its time, I definitely think Sequoia: Roots of Ember belongs on your TBR. 🚀🧡🌋

And yes… I am still thinking about that plot twist. 👀

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-Star Review

Sequoia by Lery Salgado was an incredible read! The world-building was absolutely spectacular. The level of detail made it so easy to visualize everything and feel completely immersed in the world the author created. I could picture the settings so vividly, which made the entire reading experience even more captivating.

Another standout for me was the depth of the characters. They felt layered and real, with distinct personalities, personal struggles, and emotional baggage that shaped who they were and how they interacted with others. I appreciated how much there was to discover beneath the surface of each character.

The story also explored so many meaningful themes throughout, adding depth and substance beyond the main plot. And, of course, I absolutely loved the way Sequoia and Kael’s relationship developed. Their connection felt natural and progressive, allowing their feelings to grow organically. Watching their love story unfold was beautiful and made their relationship even more rewarding.

Overall, Sequoia was a rich, immersive, and emotionally engaging story with phenomenal world-building, memorable characters, and a romance that truly touched me.
