Taking Time: Legacy Series Book 4 is by Paula Kay. This wonderful book takes us to Guatemala and the jungle there. Unfortunately, Paula does not give enough descriptions of the country for me. Only in a few places does it feel like we are really there. She does give us a feel for the differenced in the two orphanages, one for the wealthy and the other for the poorer. In the second camp, some of the children could not be adopted because they were not true orphans. Their parents had brought them to the care of Miss Silvia; but family is worth more. Douglas was upset. His wife, Gigi was depressed and he didn’t know what to do to make her back into the happy woman he had married. At first, she thought she would like to work; but when she went to the temporary service, she decided she did not want the job. Then, Douglas showed her a magazine article. She was interested and they decided to go volunteer at the Orphanage of Hope. What would they find here? Would this be their answer?
It's been 5 years since they lost Arianna and since Douglas has retired they are a little bored. Paula has written another beautiful book about relationships and change.
Gigi is overwhelmed. It's been years since her life changed but she still feels lost. Although so many things have changed for the better she has no sense of purpose anymore. When they see an orphanage looking for volunteers she decides that this might be just what she needs. She has no idea how much her life is going to change again.
I'm reading my way through this series. Each book is interesting in how Paula Kay brings out these interesting characters. I would have a hard time choosing a favorite mainly because they have all touched me in different ways. I have a real love for children and so this book spoke to me. I would recommend this series highly.
Another great book in this series. This story revolves around two of the older folks, happily in love, with a lot of security and kind of bored with life. Lots of reasons, lots of love, lots of ... well, just plain good reading!!
This book was wonderful! It made me weep for the children and so many more like them. I couldn't have found a better spot for Gigli and Douglas myself. It was a perfect ending... Except I want more!
