The Anim #3
Starlight Through Stormclouds
The Present
Avoiding his sister has become Liam’s daily task. He doesn’t know how to face her, and every recovered memory is a battle to maintain his autonomy. He is convinced that letting himself trip down that already slippery slope will only lead to ruin.
Until Sladen confronts him. Then Liam decides it might be time to uncover why Lily so often secludes herself in the attic.
But the truth sends him spiraling, and desperately, he searches for someone—anyone!—from their past who might remember … only to find that they may be closer than he anticipates.
The Past
Romance blooms, building hope for the future, but when secrets are revealed, caution and doubt begin to creep in. As the days wear on, the knowledge that Lily and Liam must soon return to Earth looms over them, and yet, despite every hardship, both siblings find themselves desiring to stay with the family they’ve built in Iraxhar.
Until an unexpected visitor threatens their peace, testing alliances and adding haste to their return.
But everyone around them has their own agenda, whether for good or ill, and for Lily and Liam, home might be out of their reach.

With all the Anim books, I start them slowly and then I reach the point where I cannot stop. This book is like grieving in a way because you know in some part how the story ends but you still let it hurt you because you want to know how it got there.
This book is beautiful in the way that it gave me hope that the story could end differently and then carefully pulled it away from me at the same time it did for Noah and Jasper and Lily and Liam and Seth.
And I love it for that. And I love it for how trauma is portrayed and how it’s discussed and how the pain is expressed.
And I want to give them all a hug. I want to make sure Noah lives a life with a woman like Haven. I want Liam to believe his sister- to remember even though it hurts and to see Runa again. And I want Lily to find her family so they can all grieve together. And I want Jasper to be okay. I want Seth and Quade to not be alone in their grief.
And I know that probably won’t happen. But I’ll read on anyway because I want to grieve with them. Because this is a beautiful and sad story and the ending isn’t written yet.
And, on a final note, fuck Lenore. Absolutely evil woman.
