As the struggle to control shrinking territories grow more difficult, a Griefer named Dire does so without the usual strong-handedness dealt by neighborhood kings; but as the wars of the elite bleed onto the headlines, Dire realizes his driver and the strange darkness of the cab can no longer shield him from the plans of the God Eater. A city starved of sunlight, peace, and respect begins to eat itself. Choked by corruption and oppressive rule, the inhabitants of Privy get by through wage slavery, crime, or the growing revolution.
