LEGACY is the third and final installment of THE TECHNOMAGE ARCHIVE, an epic fantasy trilogy set in a science-fiction world.
-- The Untouchable has returned.
The demigod’s telepathic control of his people has made Erlon a peaceful world. But people are disappearing, and their friends and families don’t remember them once they’re gone. Something is upsetting the Untouchable’s carefully controlled paradise.
Saryn, Chuckie, and the rest of the Charons have spent the decade hiding, but not resting. Saryn has found a way to sever the Untouchable’s control over the people of Erlon. But if they use it, people may die. Lots of people. Saryn and Chuckie must decide if the price of freedom is too high, and whether or not they have the right to pay it in the first place.
LEGACY concludes the epic trilogy with old friends, new faces, and a final confrontation where the fate of the universe hangs in the balance.

He is the author of THE TECHNOMAGE ARCHIVE and NIMBUS: A STEAMPUNK NOVEL
DISCLAIMER: I know the author. I payed for the book, and never talked to him about his work, but I do know him.
With the events ending Lineage, the survivors of the group are left just trying to survive in a world more and more oppressed by The Untouchable's iron influence. The Untouchable has all but won, turning nearly every human into his slave through a distorted Rited ritual. The only ones out side of his grip are the Charons and a small collection of rebels in hiding. The survivors rejoined the Charons and spent the last ten years trying to survive and honing their skills with the hopes to finding the Untouchable's weakness. When a method of breaking link between the Untouchable and his new Rited slaves is discovered, there is a new hope against their oppressor. Ten years have passed. Alot has changed.
The final book in the series, it's kind of nice to have this behind me. This probably has the main characters, probably because they are now a team and there really isn't a single leader. It's no longer one man vs another man, it's a dynamic against a force, which is a tone shift I appreciated. The dialog continues to be a strong suit and this team focus allows more of that to be shown.
I appreciated the "back to the beginning" feel of this book. Now that we kind of know how things work, it was kind of nice to hit the reset button. With that said, I feel like there was no real focus in the beginning. With the view point jumping between three points, and a strange Star Wars homage, I never really understood what the book was going for until about half way into it. Once things narrowed down, it became pretty enjoyable read. The book was always trying to surprise you, which is a little sophomoric, but if your along for the ride, its not a bad one. You really do kind of just have to let it go though. Some plot twists come from out of the blue.
Alright, so let's talk about the thing I'm most upset about in this book. I read the Kindle version, and in that version there is a huge advertisement for a different series in that version. I use the progress bar to plan out my reading and gauge my expectations. This book ended at 72%, with the remaining 28% devoted to a supplement for B.J. Keeton's next series. That kind of ruined my schedule. I get that the author is trying to market his other material, but I don't care. It's a frustrating moment, to see things heating up and expecting twenty more percent with the ramifications I'm seeing now, only to have the carpet pulled from under me. It ruins the sense of closure and accomplishment, ending with "Is that it?" It really is annoying.
With a bumpy start but a better dynamic, I learned to enjoy this one. With so much changing, this doesn't have the same feel as the previous books. I'm not willing to say that it, as a whole, is better than the previous books. But I do think that the main character dynamic has improved. This maintains a fairly simple, action read. Just know that this book ends early.
This whole series is amazing. It sucks you right into it. After finishing the second book last night, I ended up reading Legacy in one day because I just had to know what happened next. The creativity is mind blowing and everything is so well written that you get lost in the world and words. Highly recommend.
