This book was a big surprise to me. I don't normally read books like this but I found the story to be really good and well thought out. The characters are all flawed and written very well.

For a first time author and being self published the usual issues are there. A few editing mistakes here and there. I read the paperback version and the lack of page numbers took some getting used to. That probably isn't an issue in the E-Book. I usually give a lot of grace to self published authors so these issues are very minor. Sometimes the dialog could be a little clunky at times but it got much better as the book progressed.

The characters and the story were very emotional and gripping. I read almost the entire book in one day. The start was a little slow but the grief that the characters were dealing with was real and you could feel that. Once Martha came into the story the pace seemed to pick up and it was hard to put down.

Overall very good read! I would rate it 4.5 out of 5 rounded up!
