An extremely well written book, which narrated the odyssey of Shri Narayana Murthy. His story is an clear example of how dedication and sincerity towards your work can do wonders in your life. He is definitely a role model for modern day leaders. He, along with his colleagues started Infosys with mere 250$, today Infosys generates billions of dollars in revenues and employees hundreds of thousands of people. He had been a driving force in achieving this miracle. We need more leaders like him not just in India, but across the globe. The message which I personally took from this book is, that " If you want to be successful in life, you will have to be dedicated and honest towards your goals. You will have to be extremely hardworking and sincere towards accomplishing your objectives, the same way Mr. Murthy used to work for 20 hours a day while working in IIM Ahmedabad. At the end if your efforts are honest, you will be successful in life. Success won't wait for you, it doesn't waits for anyone. Its about the summation of small daily efforts that you put in."
A very short and very disappointing book. Though the book title says it is a biography of N.R. Narayana Murthy, it was more of a commentary on Infosys. NRNM and his wife Sudha Murthy are revolutionaries and role models for a lot of people. They belong to the rare category of elites who not only gained respect in their field of expertise i.e., the IT world but also enjoy a fond following among the general public. I would have loved to have a deeper insight into NRNM's mind and what motivated him. The book fails to cover a lot of points like work-life balance, his social circle, his philanthropy, and the role of his wife in his achievements. The last two chapters seem like page fillers listing out awards won by Infosys and the chronology of events. I will not recommend this book to anybody.
Ritu Singh's biography of NR Narayana Murthy provides a compact yet insightful glimpse into the life of the iconic entrepreneur. While showcasing Murthy's chemistry with Sudha Murthy, the narrative could have delved deeper into building his character through life instances. Instead, it presents his life events on a timeline, missing the opportunity for a stronger character portrayal typically found in biographies. Additionally, Singh's inclusion of Infosys' firm achievements at certain points may come across as overwhelming, resembling a presentation to investors rather than a seamless part of Murthy's story. Nonetheless, Singh's work offers valuable insights into Murthy's journey and his significant contributions to the business world.
It was a short read. Also a one time read book. First part includes Narayana Murthy's early life, and second part consists of Infosys and its policies. But you can get more on NR Narayana Murthy while search on internet than given in this book. I love to read books, speacially biographies as it motivates me to do something incredible. Narayan Murthy is one such personality but this book has not done justice.
One of my favorite highlight of this book was a line said by Narayana Murty ‘I am one of the hardest working people I know."
Great visionary par excellence fondly called NRNM.
Narayana Murthy was one of the seven co-ownership of Infosys. His views and tenets were value based. It is because of NRNM, that we are able to the IT boom in India. The goodwill created by Infosys was responsible for other MNCs to relocate their offshore accounts to India. Indeed a great visionary who still lead a simple life.
The book feels more like an extended marketing piece for Infosys than a true biography of Mr. Murty. It offers limited insight into his personal life, focusing instead on promoting the company’s achievements. The narrative seems to push a particular agenda, highlighting how remarkable Infosys is rather than providing meaningful lessons or personal reflections from Mr. Murty’s life.
A greater focus on his experiences, learnings, and values would have made for a more compelling read for me.
Thoroughly enjoyed this quick read about Murthy and origin story of his brain child and my first company , Infosys. first half of the book kept me hooked on. however later half was more about the practices that Infosys followed rather about Murthy, it was a welcome read. Recommend this to former colleagues.
A good to start and end in a same day. No much details about what people want to read for a business ideas. Risks taken by such entrepreneurs are not so much popularly known. But, i can remember how Steve's biogrophy partly had lot of such stuffs carved in his biography.
A good book to read and learn in one day. I like that he never gave into the pressure or ideas of anyone.

I started listening to this audio book as I wanted to know about NRM more and how his life was during initial days of Infosys. I truly liked the first part of the book but second part was more of about the company achievements and legacy. Overall learned many things from this great personality while going through his biography. He is main contributor in India for IT revolution.
Not very impressed with this book. Though it does touch the lives of Shri Narayan Murthy and Ms. Sudha Murthy, it looks more like the biography of Infosys...so many stats, so many facts none interesting and none useful. Actually, if u rly want to read it just go for the first few pages, rest can google for the latest stats..
It's a beautiful biography of Infosys Narayana Murthy. In this book i have learned full details about the company Infosys and it's founder Narayana Murthy. This book motivate us to become very successful in our life.✌
This book isn’t a biography. Do not be deceived by the title. This book is a collection of publicly known information about Infosys. Only the first few chapters mention NM post which it is a compilation of known facts on Infosys. Only read this book if you do not have access to Wikipedia.
Excellent journey of Shri Narayan Murthy depicted in this book. From a nowhere man with communist thinking to change to become a capitalist by establishing Infosys despite facing hardships and in the end becoming a philanthropist for the benefit of all.
We cannot call this a biography. Very little details on how Infosys was founded and expanded. There were no details about how Infosys was founded and the struggles through their growing years. Extremely disappointed ☹️
Overall very god book . This book based on Nr Nararyana Murthy life and business and company Infosys. A story of greatest entrepreneur. Very interesting book
Felt an extract of few annual reports and press releases...too much about Infosys and hardly about NRN...not worth...more details are available on web!!!
Really inspiring story of Mr.NR Narayan Murthy, but author could have covered his life in more depth as it's a renowned personality and readers must know about his journey in depth.
