I had the pleasure of receiving this as an e-ARC and voluntarily will be giving my honest review. I love how this story goes from childhood to adulthood it really tells the story! It brings in life’s traumas as Rose & Phillip grow as they each go through their own life situations and the yearning they endure. Just loved this series in a whole!! Great job to Author Kara Zone!!
“Philip Avery and Rose Everhart are bound by fate, their connection undeniable, their souls intertwined by something deeper.
But destiny is never simple, fate can be cruel, and love isn’t always enough.
Torn between his pack and Rose—his trium perfectum, the one person meant to balance his magic, heart, and very being. Philip walks away when his alpha demands a choice—his pack or Rose—leaving behind the one person who truly saw him.
Even after heartbreak and separation, their souls refuse to sever.
Philip and Rose must decide: Can love survive the weight of regret? And is redemption possible when the person you hurt is the one you’ve always belonged to?”

✨Even After✨
This spicy shifter novella was so sweet and heart aching, it made me cry! Kara did such a phenomenal job with fitting so much into such a short amount of time. We follow a dual POV from our MCs and begin in Kindergarten leading all the way to adulthood. These moments felt intentional and moving as each chapter held something that was not only impactful but also necessary as Rose and Philip’s relationship ebbed and flowed.
We see two magical beings, one shifter and one with ice power, face the criticism and incessant bullying because of a bond they share. But Rose is not part of the pack and Philip must decide if he will follow his internal canine or the deep friendship and even deeper bond he shares with Rose. Does he choose hope for acceptance or the gift of being truly seen? And Rose, she goes through the wringer, yet still is so kind and mature in her decisions in a world that has abandoned her- both human and magic alike.
The tension and yearning are TOP TIER. The romance made my heart LITERALLY ACHE. I read this in one sitting because I could just not handle the emotions Kara brought out of me and desperately sought a reunion and hopeful HEA. I cried. I had to set down my kindle to hold my heart. I FELT the rejection and the immense love. So so beautiful. And Philip’s arc. Holy moly. Just 👩🍳💋 that man coming to his senses so ravenously.
Tropes you may find in EA fated mates, wolf shifters, unique magics, second chance, medium spice, yearning and tension, friends to lovers, hidden identities, low world building (it’s connected to a broader series), standalone, real world/fae crossover, and a HEA.
Kara, thank you so much for this gifted arc. I love these two and now I desperately need to dive into the rest of your series to see how these two connect within it!

Kara did it again with making another hit, period 💅🏻
The tension and yearning? It was mouth watering. Spice? Yes and they were very so sweet around each other. I was on my sitting on the edge of my seat when the pack drama happen between the alpha and Phillip forcing him to choice. ☺️ I am so happy that Phillip and Rose got together. I was sobbing honestly when the twins were born.
I can’t wait for my paperback to come in.

Even After is a romantasy with fated mates and second chance. This is Rose and Philip’s story with shifters and a magical bonds and prophecies. I love how we get a timeline of when they meet as kids knowing they were bonded to slowly being apart due to people trying to pull them apart, and lastly coming back together. Rose is such a strong character and I love how she sticks up for herself. Philip is very protective and would do anything to keep Rose. Their story is sweet with heartwarming moments, but will pull you in when things get complicating and a higher power wants them. I love how through all the pack problems and powerful fae, they find love and strength together. I really enjoyed their story and can’t wait to read more!!

I have not read the authors other work, other than a short story about glitter bombing pixes. And that didn't really help me understand what was happening in this world the story is based. But it was an entertaining novella 😁 and made me want to know more about the world, which is why I read this book.
In this story We follow Phillip and Rose, who share a magical bond from the moment they meet as kids, but they somehow know it's not the time to fully connect. Is a lovely sweet childhood friendship/blossoming romance.
As the story developed, Phillip ended up doing, what I thought was something out of character to the boy he was in the beginning, but if he hadn't, I guess the storyline would have been a bit boring 😉 and let's face it, peer pressure is real for teenagers.
Anyone who reads my reviews, knows I don't do spoiler reviews. But at the end of the story, we have Rose and Phillip and their bond connected with them happy at the end of the book.
What I liked:
It feels like the start of a massive, epic story arc and I enjoyed the authors writing style. I loved following Phillip and Rose's journey!
What still confused me:
If this had been a fated mate storyline I would have not been confused but with this emphasis on three...
The whole Trium Perfectum ? ( I googled it in Latin it's basically reads, Threes is perfect) And series is called "Trium Perfectum" ... yet there are only TWO of them?! 🧐 Is there a third person missing? Are the answers hidden in the author's previous books or will this be revealed further on in other books?
Update -
I reached out to the Authors PA and they said Accidental Faerie Tale and Even After are prequels.
Conclusion:
If you love stories where a hidden magical realm seamlessly twists into our normal world, you need this on your radar. BUT maybe don't jump in part way through a series 🫣 like I did, look at the other books first:
So I'm concluding this review with saying I suggest reading 'An Accidental Faerie Tale first Even After ☺️

This was such a sweet - and at times bittersweet - novella. I'd not heard of the Trium Perfectum series before now (this novella serves as a prequel to it, I believe) but this definitely got me interested in reading it and Ive added it to my TBR already.
Plot: Rose and Philip are bound by fate since the day the first met at children. But life is never that simple. Philip has his alpha and pack to deal with, who arent happy with his relationship with Rose outside the pack.
I think the thing I most enjoyed about this book was the way it was written. Most of the book flowed from childhood to early adulthood, and was shown in little snippets of their lives and small interactions between them that all added up to rich characters and deep relationships. It was like opening little windows and seeing a tiny part of their life before moving on to the next. Time still flowed around the windows but we didnt see all of it. It just made such a unique storyline.
I also really appreciated that there was life outside them: other relationships, friendships, study, work. Their whole lives didnt revolve around one another and their bond (even though it did, it wasnt something they were forced into).
There was a lot of sweet moments, some bittersweet ones, too. Shout out to the spice in this book: it was a short novella, with only one major spicy scene, but it was a solid one.
Now to find some time in my life to read more of the author's books.

First of all I want to say thank you to the author for the advanced reader copy of this novella. I hadn’t heard of the trium perfectum series until now. Those books have been added to my tbr and I will be reading those.
4 star 2 spice level
This was my first book I’ve read by the author and I just gotta say this book was beautifully written. I love how we see the main characters Philip and Rose grow up, make mistakes and grow from those mistakes. With the dual pov it was easy to understand and see what both characters were going through and thinking. Both our main characters met in kindergarten and were bound together with the trium perfectum. But as a wolf shifter, Philip decides to join the wolf pack led by Tanner who doesn’t like that Philip has a bond with a non shifter who isn’t in his pack. Philip ends up making a choice that severs the bond between him and rose and hurts rose with his choices. Rose ends up finding someone who helps her and stands up for her as she feels like she has no one, her parents are never around and her grandmother just doesn’t believe in her especially her artwork. The redemption arc that Philip goes through is amazing realizing that he needs Rose. I just love their relationship. The tension and yearning throughout this book was top tier. And the hea they get is amazing.
Thanks again to the author!
Tropes- wolf shifters, magical beings, second chance, tension, yearning, hidden identities, HEA.

“I’m going to figure out what you’re hiding.”
Philip and Rose’s relationship starts out sweet but turns sour as they get older and Philip connects with a pack led by selfish and possessive Tanner.
The story amps up when Rose gets serious with Kent and the pack goes after them, but there’s an undeniable connection between Philip and Rose…and more going on under the surface.
Will the Trium Perfectum link between Rose and Philip allow itself to be ignored? Or will it push them together again? Philip has a lot to atone for, so it seems hopeless, even though we can see it’s meant to be.
Though I loved watching Philip grow as a person, Rose is likeable from the start. Though deeply connected to Philip, she’s still her own person. She’s fearless and not afraid to stand up for herself. She’s strong even though her parents are constantly absent and the grandmother who raised her was cruel. She’s missing love in her life from her family but she’s not afraid to embrace it anyway.
Driven by Zone’s signature scent-enhanced magic, Even After is a love story that unfurls slowly and enchantingly, like a realistic fairytale. It’s also another piece to the puzzle that makes up the Trium Perfectum series, giving more insight and answers to the overall story.

Loved This Novella
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️
For three books, we’ve been teased with Rose and Philip’s backstory. Now, we finally get to read it. My only complaint with this book is that it wasn’t long enough. I could have read a 3-book series of just Rose and Philip. This novella was so much fun to read. The chapters are short but loaded. We follow Rose and Philip from childhood through high school and college in snippets of their lives and their encounters with one another. I loved watching them grow and find their paths, becoming stronger along the way.
Rose is my new favorite heroine. She’s strong, feisty, smart, and she defends herself and those she cares for! Love her!
And, my heart ached for Philip. He was caught between a rock and hard place, pulled in two different directions, and having to deal with pack peer pressure and a demanding Alpha. That was a lot of pressure on a child/teen and; unfortunately, he did not handle it well.
Even after heartbreak and separation, their souls refuse to sever.
Books 1-3 and 2 Novellas are Available Now! Read at least Book 1 before you read the novellas.

•Fast-paced, magical and oh-so-swoon-worthy•
Him: a handsome, sweet-talking canine shifter who yearns so hard but needs to step up
Her: a magical non-shifter, disgusted by hurtful pack dynamics, with ice powers and just the right amount of snark
Them: resisting a magical bond that, if connected, could make them both more powerful and help fulfill a prophecy they didn’t see coming.
But will their relationship stand the test of time, or will they give up on their bond and turn to other lovers?
Even After is a standalone within Kara M. Zone’s Trium Perfectum world that explores the longtime relationship between Philip Avery and Rose Everhart, parents of two of the MMCs in the series. Now we get to learn their backstory, shining more light on the events from books 1-3. Be ready for Kara’s exciting, fast-moving writing, and relish in the sweet, swoon-y moments shared between the characters. I wavered between wanting to hug Philip and Rose and wanting to shake some sense into them, and I enjoyed every minute of it!

I always love a novella that dives into the backstory of the prominent side characters you love in a series. Even After is the story of Rose and Philip, the parents of our MMC in the Trium Perfectum series. I loved every minute of this sweet love story that was hard fought and endured even after all that transpired.
We follow Rose and Philip as they grow up together first as best friends with the special connection of the Trium Perfectum. Then, growing up gets in the way when Philip, a shifter, gives into his primal needs for a pack led by a possessive Alpha who will not tolerate outside bonds. Under this Alpha, the pack is cruel to Rose and Philip abandons her to their harassment. When Rose meets someone knew, Philip is forced to confront his feelings that never went away for Rose and eventually must decide if he will stay with the pack or choose love with his perfect match.
I really enjoyed reading how this couple navigated all the experiences of childhood, adolescence, and finally adulthood. If you have read the series, you know how it will end, but that didn't take the joy away from watching them get to their Even After. Overall, this novella is a fast, fun read filled with love, magic, and resilience.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4/5 Stars
I really enjoyed returning to the Trium Perfectum world and learning more about Rose and Philip. Their love still felt just as strong, but this story reminded me that happily ever after isn’t about perfection; it’s about choosing each other every single day.
One of my favorite things about this novella was how emotional and heartfelt it felt. There were so many quiet moments that made me smile, and I loved getting to see a softer, more settled side of these characters. It felt like catching up with old friends I wasn’t quite ready to say goodbye to.
The only reason this wasn’t a full five-star read for me is because I wanted more. I finished it wishing it had been longer because I wasn’t ready to leave Philip and Rose behind. A few moments felt a little rushed, and I would have loved even more insight into their life together.
Overall, Even After was a beautiful addition to the Trium Perfectum series. It gave me the closure I was hoping for while reminding me why I fell in love with these characters in the first place. It left me with a full heart and a smile on my face.

This is a short novella set in the Trium Perfectum series. This is the story of Phillip and Rose, Finn's parents. It starts with Phillip and Rose meeting in kindergarten and progresses through all the younger stages of their lives. What begins as a beautiful childhood friendship goes through changes during adolescence and high school. When pack comes between them, can things ever be the same or get better?
This is a wonderful addition to this series. After reading Ashes Fallat Dawn, it gives more of the story of Phillip and his trouble with Tanner Asheborn. A negative history was talked about, but this story goes into that detail as well as some of the references at the end of book 2.
I like how this story starts with the kids at such a young age and develops their relationship through the good and the bad. Phillip was not always the good guy and you really get to see his character development. And after reading this story, I now question some of the things happening throughout Ashes and am eager to see what will come of the interactions with Tanner in the rest of the series.

I swear, I don't ever need convincing to come back to this world. The author has built this world that is already large, but keeps finding ways to expand, and each book just adds more without making it feel stale or repetitive.
Rose and Philip's story was a great addition. I liked watching them figure out their bond, their abilities, and everything that comes with being part of this world. Their relationship does take time to develop, but I appreciated the buildup and getting to see them figure things out instead of everything simply falling into place instantly.
The worldbuilding is one of the strongest parts of this series. The magic, shifters, fae, and lore all feel like they have their own history and rules, and every book adds more depth.
There were a couple slower spots, but I never minded slowing down because they usually built to something bigger. Another great visit to this world, and I’m already looking forward to seeing what Kara M. Zone has in store for us next.

really great prequel
This was such a great story. Philip and Rose went through so much throughout the course of the book and their relationship changed and developed the entire time. I really enjoyed that there were a bunch of short chapters, it made it seem more…immersive, I guess. I went from loving Philip to loathing him to loving him again. He took a while to get there but he does eventually do the right thing. I loved that Rose always stood her ground when Tanner (the worst) was trying to push his alpha-ness around. I especially loved how powerful Rose was and how well she handled herself. The big showdown towards the end was super satisfying and I loved how well Philip and Rose worked together. Definitely had a couple tearjerker moments in this and the spice was extra tasty. This was a really great read and I loved the way it helps with context for some of the other Trium Perfectum books.

We go back in time with this book. To the beginning with Finn & Aiden’s parents. To the days of school yards and crayons, of childhood certainties. And bullies.
Philip and Rose become fast friends. Their trium perfectum bond pulling them together. Enter Tanner, the alpha of the local pack of shifters. As the lure of the pack grows on Philip, Tanners aggressiveness towards Rose intensifies. He believes anyone outside of the pack is trash.
Eventually Philip caves to the pack and Tanner finds any excuse to harass Rose. Philips stands by and watches. When she finally has enough and her power erupts, the pack is on edge. Philip starts to realize that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side and begins to work on making amends.
It isn’t an easy path. But even when. Even if. Even after….

This novella takes us back in time to tell the story of Rose and Phillip. I loved how the story traced the relationship and their bond from their early years (kindergarten onwards) to adulthood and the hard fought love they earned. Learning the backstory of these characters, having read the rest of the Trium Perfectum series, was an absolute delight! It fills in a lot of information (like the origin story with Tanner - Ugh how I love to hate him) and was a beautiful story of choosing love over all. This book includes a lot of my favorite things - angst/longing, secrets, spice, and intrigue that kept me turning pages quickly, and I also loved seeing Bob the dragon’s origin story!!! The dragons are some of my favorites in the series - can you blame me? Can’t wait to see where the story takes us next!

Even After by Kara M. Zone
Thank you, Kara and IRIS, for this copy. All parts of this review are of my honest opinion 💚
Even After is a novella that follows Rose and Philip (parents of the Avery children) after they met. We know from the main series that Rose and Philip also have the Trium Perfectum bond and we knew bits of their lives from the past. I am happy to say that this novella helps fill in those gaps and we get to see the characters for who they were. This perspective adds a deeper layer to the series that we normally wouldn’t see. I think it made a great addition… plus we got to see them grow up… literally 💙
This novella is 1.5 in the Trium Perfectum series. While you can read it after book one, I think you would be able to enjoy the read at any point 💕
Be sure to check out the ENTIRE series! There's great mental health and LGBTQIA+ rep 💖✨️☺️

I am back in the Trium Perfectum world with a novella this time. There will be spoilers kinda if you haven’t been reading along with me. This follows the parents of Fin. It’s a fun childhood friends to enemies to lovers story. Rose and Phillip are inseparable till they aren’t. There is so much emotion in this story and it really provides so much to the overall series. We get to learn about the tension and dynamics between Tanner. So if you love these side characters and want to have a little extra journey through time this will be great for you. You get a bit more of the shifter life and mentality. There is bullying in this one so if that’s not your thing you’ve been warned. There is a tshirt seen that had me 👀. A quick easy read with high emotional impact. You could read this as a standalone to get a feel for Kara’s writing. Also just want to say that I love this cover.

The stunning cover art and the title fit this amazing story perfectly. Built around difficult decisions and second chances, "Even After" will take you on an incredible journey you won't soon forget.
@karamzone_writes packs so much in under 200 pages! There is a relatable love story blossoming since childhood, characters with questionable motives, many twists, plenty of spice🌶, and a HEA. The shifter aspect and magical elements add another layer to the story that bring it to a whole new level.
I recommend this book, as well as this series, to readers who enjoy 🌶spicy shifter romantasy. Thank you to @karamzone_writes and @iris.influencer.society for having me on the team for this series.

The perfect addition to the Trium Perfectum series! This novella follows Phillip and Rose’s story and gives Phillip his arc.
Philip is forced by his alpha to choose between his pack and Rose. Seeing them both grow and learn some of life’s hardest lessons with the ultimate payoff at the end makes this an absolute must read!!
Not to mention, there’s also pack secrets/politics, portal magic, angst/yearning and spice! Lastly, Rose’s found family makes my so heart happy. 💕
This book is another reason why, if Kara writes it- I’ll read it!!
🐺 Fated mates
⏳ Second chance romance
👥 Pack politics
💔 Angst and yearning
🤝 Found family
✨ Portal magic
🧠 Mental health representation

Love, Magic, and Destiny
I've really enjoyed this series, so I was happy to finally read Philip and Rose's story. Their connection felt heartfelt, and I was invested in them from the start. The fated mates element added an emotional layer that fit the story well.
One of the things I continue to enjoy about this series is the mix of romance, magic, and dynamics. It keeps me coming back to this world, and this book was another solid addition. If you've been reading the series, I think you'll enjoy spending more time with these characters.
Shoutout to Kara for the advanced copy, this is my honest review.

When I started this book, I didn’t realize how much I needed Phillip and Rosie’s story.
And wow. It actually explains so much about past events (which is why it’s really important to read Book 1 in the Trium Perfectum series).
The book begins when they meet, and it’s so lovely. It shows how much they struggle to become who they are later on, and even though it’s a short book, the writing is really strong and never feels rushed.
I couldn’t put it down and had an amazing time with their story.
I really hope Kara releases a new book in this series soon!
Thank you to the author and IRIS for the ARC copy. I’m leaving this review voluntarily, and all opinions are my own.

Having read the trilogy, I enjoyed getting a look at the couple that raised the twins. This was a beautifully written lovestory, though difficult to read at times. Full of love, jealousy, bullying, manipulation and deceit, regret, understanding, acceptance and forgiveness, this story runs the gambit of emotions. There were times I wanted to yell at the characters, and times I wanted to hold them. For me that's the true test of a book. What can it make me feel? This one hit every mark, though I've come to expect that with Zone's stories. I definateky look forward to what's coming next.
I was gifted a copy of this book and voluntarily provided this review.

I really enjoyed Even After by Kara M. Zone. Getting to experience Philip and Rose’s story was such an emotional ride, and I was fully invested in their journey from start to finish.
Philip’s growth stood out the most to me. Watching him come into his own, stand up for himself, and realize just how much Rose meant to him was incredibly satisfying. Their relationship wasn’t easy...they went through some truly difficult and painful moments...but those struggles only made their bond stronger and more meaningful.
Now let’s talk about Tanner… because wow. He was easily one of the most frustrating and unlikeable characters. The way he tried to control Philip, despite clearly recognizing his strength, and the way he tormented Rose? Absolutely awful. He added a layer of tension that made the story even more intense, but I definitely could have done without his cruelty.
Overall, this was a powerful story about growth, resilience, and love that refuses to break...even after everything. Definitely worth the read.

I'm really happy we got the origin story for Rose and Philip. To see how difficult the journey was for them to be together. It was really interesting to see the story from them being kids, to high school days, and then when they finally got together. It was very difficult with him deciding between his wolf pack and her. But he really cares about her and is very protective. Also I despise Tanner, he is just someone I want to punch. The ending was so wholesome and I smiled when the twins were born.

Rose and Philips story is my favorite of the series so far. Rose is amazing. No wonder she has raised such good boys.
The author does an amazing job at making you feel Rose's happiness in the beginning of the story, and her absolute heartbreak. Philip may have broken Rose's heart, but she is so strong that it takes a long time for anyone to actually see it. Her connection with Kent was good for her, even though I did not like it one bit, it helped her through some really awful times.
Philip is stupid.... To let that awful boy dictate who he had to be, how he was supposed to love, and behave. I spent a lot if this book hoping when I turned the page his stupidness would be gone. It took a lot of page turns for that to come about. But it was so worth it once it did!

Thank you to Kara for the privilege of being part of your ARC team!
I greatly enjoyed “Even After” and getting to read about Philip and Rose’s relationship. The ups and down were so heart wrenching, even knowing that they would end up together! The twist with Kent was done so well and makes their relationship all the more interesting.
I have loved all of Kara’s books and this is no exception. A solid 4/5 read and I can’t wait for more in this universe to come out!
