The Starless Forge
Gaelin and the crew of the Erebus have been searching for a way home. What they've found is a war they can't escape.
Millions of light-years from the Milky Way, they've allied with a ragtag band of the Scattered, who are the remnants of the Stonefruit Galaxy. Those left behind after their worlds were absorbed.
The Fold doesn't just kill. It erases civilizations. And somehow, it has convinced the galaxy that the Scattered never existed and that the handfuls who've endured are the monsters.
Now the Fold hungers for something in the Milky Way. A being called Matterforge.
Gaelin is used to being dealt a bad hand. Hell, he's made a career out of turning the tables. Except he's never faced odds like this before. With nowhere left to run, Gaelin plays the trump card. He knows the location of the starless rift. Where the remains of a shattered god slumbers. The Voidsmith.
But to wake it, he must outrun an empire, root out the sleepers in his own ranks, and light a dead star inside the Starless Forge.
The Fold wins by making the galaxy forget.
Unlucky for them, Gaelin Starks has a long memory and an itchy trigger finger.
