Royal Holiday series

His Forbidden Princess by Jeannie Moon is the fourth novella in the Royal Holiday series. I have said before that I started this series because the first author is a favorite of mine. I decided to continue on with the series to introduce myself to three more new to me authors and have enjoyed each book so much, this one included.

Ian and Sofia first met eight years ago in college. They first became friends, then fell in love. Ian had never met anyone like Sofia before and fell hard. Sofia was equally deeply in love with Ian but she withheld one important fact regarding her identity. Beneath the blue jeans, t-shirts and pony tail, she was really Crown Princess Sofia of Aubonne, second in line for the throne. When her mother, the Queen, learned of the relationship, Sofia was pulled away and the relationship ended.

His Forbidden Princess

Eight years later, rebels have become active in Sofia’s country and her family is in danger. Sofia is in New York when the situation becomes desperate and Sofia needs to be protected. Enter now Special Agent Ian Stuart, assigned to personally protect the princess. The danger is getting closer so Ian needs to hide Sofia where no one would expect her to be. So he takes her to his family’s estate in Shelter Island, New York. Here they can safely stay until the dangerous rebels are located and stopped.

“He treated her visit with the same care he gave every other dignitary. But she was more. She’d always been more.”

Waterfront Charmer on idyllic Shelter... - HomeAway Shelter Island

While they are hiding in plain sight on the island, Ian gets a glimpse of the Sofia he remembers from their youth, in her blue jeans, no make up, no royal duties. But what happens when this is over? If they allow their feelings for one another to resurface, is there a future for them? Will Sofia even have a country to go home to? Would Ian ever fit into that life?

“Once upon a time, her love for him had her ready to leave her entire life behind. Her home, her family, her responsibility…it was crazy. She would have followed him anywhere. And now they were here together and her feelings were welling up all over again.”

twinkies - Google Search

While Ian and Sofia are on the island, Sofia gets the chance to try her first Twinkie and eat her first lobster roll. Along with everything else they are dealing with, the island is threatened with a rare tropical storm.

Tropical Storm

This book was wonderful, it was the perfect mix of the fairy tale with the added suspense of Sofia needing protection from the rebels. Ian and Sofia clearly shared that once in a life time love and as soon as they were reunited, they both knew the feelings were still just as strong. I loved getting to know Ian and Sofia and look forward to reading more by Jeannie Moon. This is a perfect addition to this series and I truly enjoyed it.

“She’d given him up once for her family and country, but not again. She would not live without Ian ever again.”

2.5 I Beg you Stars

I have read every royal holiday book because I love the concept that a different author writes a book. This series is still strange because it’s the 4th book in the Royal Holiday collection however they are all standalones and the stories never intersect. So this would be good in an anthology more than a series as it appears but that doesn’t change my rating just confuses my brain .
As anyone who reads my reviews I love fairy tales and happily ever afters but this story was bordering on annoying due to the lack of character and story development but it started off amazing.
The story is about two people that meet in college Ian and Sofie and the night they let their emotions takeover is the night Ian learns Sofia is actually a Princess and they cannot be together.
Now Sofie is without her maidenhood and is the crowned princess that no suitor desires and after 8 lonley years they are thrown back together under unfortunate circumstances..but the story dies with me here

What mainly kills the story is how short this book is at barely 110 pages there is too much story that needs to be built without the time so the end just seems to happen and issues seem to just evaporate. This is not one of the better Royal Holiday books but I have zero regrets in reading it

(I received a copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review)

This is the fourth book in the Royal Holiday series. However, unfortunately, it is far from the best.

FBI agent and a princess who have history together and forced to cut ties after their night of passion. The FBI agent, Ian Stuart, is surprised to see the Queen of Aubonne on his doorsteps demanding to take away Princess Sofie. That is interesting plot right?

but then 8 years later, they're reunited by a their work. He is a protection detail for Sofie while the royal family visits USA. He then takes her away after an attempt on her life was made by Aubonne rebels. And their history sure will be revisited while on the run.

The main problems with this story is:

1. one-dimensional characters.
2. straightforward story, lacked depth (yep I know this is a novella)
3. simplistic dialogue

These three things is why I didn't enjoy it as much as the previous ones. Princess Sofie has her "stupid" moments. I was annoyed by those because she was written as spoiled and naive but there's something more that could be done with her character. I was disappointed with her mostly.

Ian was alright, who would not like a kickass FBI agent?!!

I was interested in this one mainly because I've thoroughly enjoyed a few of the author's past books, but then there was also that I was in the mood for a bit of modern fairytale which I was hoping to get with 'Princess' in the title. This was a sweet second-chance class difference romantic suspense that moved along swiftly in this novella-length story.

This is book four in a series of standalones written by separate authors all focusing on Princess as the theme.

The story opens with a prologue of a happy college age couple who have fallen in love. Ian Stuart, ex-Army Ranger, has gone back to school and encounters sweet and lovely Sofia. Unfortunately, Sofia is keeping one whopping big secret in her quest for a normal life. Royals don't get 'normal' though and she is broken hearted when the reveal puts Ian out of reach.

Eight years later, special agent Ian Stuart is on the protection detail for Her Royal Highness' Princess Sofia while she is in the States. Terrorists attack the royal family back home and Ian discovers that Sofia is a target as well. He whisks her away to his family's home on Long Island to keep her safe while the danger is dealt with, but they both soon realize that the danger now includes the still strong feelings they have for each other. Is it a second chance or just a second opportunity for hearts to break again since Ian is a commoner and she the heir to a throne?

Alright, so I grabbed this one for some light fun and that is what I got. I suspended belief and enjoyed my adult fairy tale. The story is moderately developed in plotting and character, but there was plenty to attract and keep my attention through this quickly read story.

Ian is the hero every girl wants including Sofia. He is selfless, sacrificing, dutiful, and passionate for Sofia though these qualities tear him to shreds when he sees her duty to country and family as more important than anything that can happen with him. Even though it costs him to keep the woman he loves, but can't have close by, he does it to protect her with his life.

Sofia was raised as the spare behind her brother for the throne of their small country. She believes this will allow her the wiggle room to walk away and have a normal life with Ian, but her mother removes that dream by insisting she do her duty and Ian finishes it when he pushes her away. For eight years, she does the job she was born to and then steps into her brother's shoes when he is gone, but she doesn't come alive until she is with Ian again. Sofia decides to see what can happen and this causes a bit of a push-pull going on and then she has to respect that Ian needs to focus to keep her alive.

The suspense was light though it came rushing to the front near the end. Most of the story is the reunion of Ian and Sofia though his Uncle John was a sparkling addition when he was there to prod the pair of them.

All in all, this was a nice afternoon distraction and can recommend it to those who want something quickly developed and for a bit of slightly spicy contemporary romance.

I received this book from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

Kitty's review posted on Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

A love story … just what I needed. As all hell breaks lose in our world, I found the most beautiful way to escape. I read a book. But, not just any book. A book about love – losing and finding it only to lose it again. Sound depressing? A little bit. But, remember … only HEA’s here. And, what a beautiful one Jeannie Moon wrote for His Forbidden Princess.

After finding out the truth about his Sofia, Ian moves on with his life … not with another woman, because there will be no other than her, but by throwing himself into his chosen profession. An FBI Special Agent. He’s always kept an eye on Sofia, knew of the threats against her family and country and knew that, no matter what, he would protect her. From afar. She could never know how much breaking her heart broke his as well. But, circumstances, threats and a special request has secluded them at his families house on an island. He has to stay professional, he has to separate his heart from his head, he cannot give in to his obsession to hold her, with comforting her, loving her, again.

Sofia cannot move on with her life. It doesn’t matter that she is next in line to the throne after her brother’s murder. It doesn’t matter that she is being pursued by Princes, Counts. Her heart beats for the one person that broke it 8 years ago. Ian Stuart. Even being surrounded by bodyguards, the FBI, she’s still not safe and finds out just how big a threat the insurgents are as she is whisked out of her hotel into a waiting car, taken into protective custody by none other than the man that holds her heart, has been the bane of her existence and that she has never fallen out of love with.

Duty, obligations, a country in need of strong leadership … all of this is against them. But, when the threats literally knock on their door, as a storm brews outside, Ian can do nothing but give his Princess what she needs the most. Love.

I have so enjoyed this series. No, it’s not filled with explicit sex but with hope, love, understanding, forgiveness. Something we are all sadly lacking these days. But, Jeannie Moon took what could have been a tragic love story and, with her writing style, made it one of my favorites in the Royal Holiday series. I loved Ian with his strong, protective personality and Sofia with her sense of obligation. But, it was the love that I loved the most. How two people could go on with their lives, face the dangers and tragedies that life has thrown at them and then come out in the end stronger and more sure of their place in the world, gave me hope. Put a smile on my face. Brought tears to my eyes. Enjoy!

I received a copy of this story through NetGalley from the publisher/author for an honest review (thank you!). This is the first book I've read by the author and is the 4th in a series. Looking at the descriptions for the first 3 books, I don't feel like you need to read those stories first. I'm not sure if there is a person or tie between the books other than they share a royalty angle.

The book is more a novella and can be read in a little over an hour. Do to that, there isn't a lot of development for the characters or the overall story line. The story is short and sweet with equal parts of romance and suspense. Sophie and Ian are both likable characters, but due to the length of the book you're not deeply attached to them or overcoming their obstacles. They were broken up when they were young and are now finding their way back to each other during a very dire situation. I'm not exactly sure how to describe this, but the language in the story is told in the older grand and dramatic style of "my love" and "darling" which is a little awkward in 2015 with characters in their 20s.

Overall, I was entertained and drawn into the story. I also learned you can use window cleaner spray to take down a highly trained bodyguard.

**My thanks to NetGalley and Tule Publishing, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

Although the plot on this book is good, it felt a little rushed, especially at the end which was a little disappointing, however the story was still good.

Both characters met before in the past when the Princess ends up in trouble with her past lover as her protector. Of course the past comes rushing back as does the emotions and feelings.

*I was provided an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review.*

Crown Princess Sofia lost the love of her life to her duties for her country. Eight years ago, she was forced to leave Ian Stuart and her heart behind. Now her life is in danger, and Special Agent Ian Stuart is charged with protecting her, hiding her in plain sight in his family’s holiday home in New York. Ian and Sofie must fight their feelings in order to keep her safe, but danger lurks, and their hearts can no longer stay apart.

His Forbidden Princess is a contemporary romance novella set in the United States. I love a good forbidden royal romance story, but unfortunately this one didn’t do it for me. Too many of the details were told instead of being shown, not giving me a chance to connect with the characters. Some things were completely glossed over, like the specific threat to Sofie. We didn’t get to see much of Agent Ian in action since the story was so focused on the romance.

There were contradictory characterizations of some of the characters. The queen was described as being a good, loving mother, yet the story started off with her being somewhat heartless when it came to her daughter being in love. Sofie was constantly described as being strong and independent, but she didn’t act that way during her time in hiding. She also told Ian she trusted him to protect her, yet she was scared of what was going on throughout the entire story.

The plot itself was a little too wishy-washy. The reader didn’t get many details on the threat to Sofie or what to expect. When Sofie and Ian were attacked, there was barely any action. The ending felt like it added drama just for the sake of it. There was no buildup to the resolution.

There were several editing errors in the book as well. Hopefully those were cleaned up prior to publication.

ARC provided by Netgalley in exchange for a honest review.

Sophie was a princess not ready to take on her title. She wanted to fall in love and didn't care if the man was titled. None of that matter to her. So when the man of her dreams finds out who she really is she realizes that even if she doesn't care about a title it doesn't mean that he doesn't care that she is a princess.

Fast forward eight years later where Sophie is visiting the States while her country is in turmoil. Unbeknownst to her, Ian her former love is the one in the background making sure that she is safe. When he finds out that her life is in danger, he takes her to his family home to hide her in plain sight. After spending eight years still loving her and not having her it makes his job even harder to resist. Sophie isn't even trying to resist her pull towards Ian. She knows that this slight break might be the only time that she will ever have with him and she isn't willing to waste it. Soon passions unite and both of them realize that sometimes love is worth the risk.

This book was both passionate and exciting with the dangers brought to Princess Sophie by the terrorists. I loved how Ian was willing to sacrifice everything in order to not only keep her safe but to make her happy. He was her perfect match even if he was to stubborn to see it. The only reason I didn't give this book four stars was I wish it were longer and more expanded upon. I loved the romance but I wish we could have seen him work for her forgiveness more. Maybe it was just me but I just didn't want it to end. Overall I would definitely recommend this to anyone and can't wait for the next book by this talented author.

While in the process of gathering my thoughts for this review, I just keep coming back to the same thing. What a wonderful short story. His Forbidden Princess is a novella of 110 action packed pages. You have a love story here, and the author doesn’t fail to bring that or the emotional connection with the main characters. However, she also throws in intrigue and suspense too and it is -very- well done.

Sofia, or Sofie as you’ll come to know her, just wants to be normal. Have normal things, not have people scurry around her… this is basically a woman who never even gets the chance to tie her own shoe laces without someone falling over themselves to do it for her. While she understands that she’s a Royal, and she has everything she could possibly want, she doesn’t have that one man that makes her heart flutter.

Ian pushed Sofie away years ago, when he found out she was a royal, intentionally setting out to make her think nothing was between them. He understood her duty to her country, but he’s never stopped loving her. Now she’s back in his life and he’s doing every single thing he can to protect her. She think he’s just doing his job, he knows it’s so much more than that.

Another great, short read. Perfect for commuter trips or something to get lost in on your lunch break! I thoroughly enjoyed the simple sweetness of it.

Wonderful second chance story!! Great writing makes this one so enjoyable. Even though it is a novella length story, the characters are well developed and the pace of the story is perfect. Excellent afternoon read.

Eight years ago, Ian and Sophie were young, in college, and very much in love. Both their worlds are shattered when the startling fact that Sophie is in fact a princess and must return to her country is revealed. Neither has ever forgotten the other and when her life is in danger Ian knows he is the only one who can keep her safe.

This is one highly recommend!!

His Forbidden Princess was a beautifully done second chance love story. It had a strong beginning, a captivating middle, and a very sweet end. The protagonists were well matched and likable. The conflicts that were presented by the author were just right and allowed the story to flow nicely.

This book held so much promise. I'm sort of in a royal kick right now and thought this would hit the spot. Unfortunately things happened a little too quickly for me in this one.

The story wasn't bad, it was just accelerated. I did enjoy the suspense aspect to the story though.

I’m a big Jeannie Moon fan. And some of my favorite stories of hers are novellas - she’s a rare author who doesn’t shortchange the reader of anything, packing in plenty of plot and character development regardless of the shortened page count. Sadly, His Forbidden Princess didn’t live up to my expectations.

Sofie and Ian were university students in England who fell in love. But the morning after they spent the night together for the first time, Sofie’s mother - who happens to be the queen of a tiny European country - shows up and whisks her back home.

Eight years later Sofie, who is next in line to the throne after her older brother was killed, is visiting New York City and Ian happens to be in charge of the team responsible for her security. When Ian learns about another assasination attempt on Sofie’s family back in their home country, the team determines the best way to keep her safe is to whisk her away to a secret location. Of course, once there Ian and Sofie try to deny the feelings for each other they both still have.

As far as Ms. Moon novellas go, this one lacked just about everything I’ve come to expect from her writing. Instead, it’s full of the heroine’s melodramatic internal monologue, as well as stilted conversations (no one in their 20s calls their significant other “my darling”).

Jeannie Moon has written some really great books. This one wasn’t bad, but it was mostly cheesy with a side dish of melodramatic. You might think that it’s a novella is part of its problem, but this author has written some really great novellas. Add to the fact that this book is in desperate need of proofreading (the mistakes were plentiful in this one - which I just don’t get...this is an older book and surely they know there are SO MANY errors, so why not fix them in the digital copy, at least???), and what was supposed to be a fun-sized Snickers worth of satisfaction was more like a spinach smoothie.

Sophia and Ian meet in Cambridge England and fall in love. Then her mother, the Queen breaks them up because he isn't suitable for a princess.

8 years later, the Kingdom is under attack and Ian is a senior FBI agent. He is assigned to saving her from assassins. Will they fall in love again? Can he keep her safe?

This is a fun read, with some thrilling parts and some sexy parts. I recommend this for a mature reader.

This story was underdeveloped, even for a novella. The prologue started out promising, but then everything happened in an instant without any background, any reason, or any solution really. I have so many questions and no answers.

his forbidden princess is the fourth book in the royal holiday series of novellas. this is the shortest book in the series, at 110 pages, and yet there is a lot of story here. maybe too much story for the short length? this is a second chance at love story, so the two characters have a lot of history, but again because of the short length you aren't given a lot of time to see how their original relationship developed.

basically you see their break-up, which happens the morning after they first sleep together and the fact that sofie is a princess to a small european country is revealed. our hero, ian, realizes that there is likely no future where their relationship can survive and she can keep her relationship with her family and country, so he takes it upon himself to break them up. this whole scene was a little weird because it didn't feel like he was really being that big of a jerk for a guy who had just discovered that his girlfriend had been keeping a pretty big secret about herself from him.

this is basically the problem with the whole novella. there is no time to let things develop so the characters jump from feeling one way to feeling another way in the same paragraph. you kind of have whiplash throughout the story. as far as these kinds of stories go, there aren't any major surprises. when they reconnect eight years after the initial scene sofie is in danger. her country is in upheaval and she is now the next in line for the throne. but there is a group of insurgents anxious to overthrow the monarchy. and here again the short format inhibited the story-telling because while the author tried to explain why these things were happening, aubonne is also supposed to be this little utopia where people love their monarchy, which felt too much like trying to have things both ways. you can have economic unrest and uncertainty without compromising your characters or their families, right? it just didn't feel realistic. and sure, you already know it's a fantasy because the country doesn't really exist, but this type of story does best when it rings true.

so that's the other issue, a lot of story is spent on the fact that because sofie and ian slept together that one time in college she's ruined because she isn't a virgin. and while i'm sure being royal requires more decorum, in this day and age no one is going to believe that a european monarchy is really going to care about that. it just doesn't ring true and is so old-fashioned and weird to fixate on. like, it's fine if sofie hadn't wanted to move on from ian, but the fact is that when she tried she was rejected as having been despoiled is just really strange. like, i don't even understand why anyone would have brought this up in conversation.

in the end, this is a fun, quick read. it's not all that deep, but it doesn't have the room to be deep. i'm also not clear on why this series is called the royal holiday series, because i can't tell what holiday season this allegedly takes place during. but eh, that is such a silly nit to pick i kind of can't believe i mentioned it.

Sophie and Ian had been in love as college students. At the time of their romance Sophie was just an exoticly beautiful student, it wasn’t until one fateful night that Ian learned the harsh truth. Sophie was a princess, the second in line for the crown of a small country. She had attended school as an average girl because she never wanted the crown, but her mother, the Queen had other intentions. Ian had harshly broken up with Sophie, sending her back home under her mother’s watchful eyes. He was older and understood that their lives would never, ever mesh. It was obvious that the Queen felt the same way. Two hearts were broken that night, two lives forever changed simply because two people dared to fall in love.

Today, almost a decade later, Crown Princess Sophie is in New York City. There is trouble in her country, terrorists are threatening lives if the Royal Family does not step down. Sophie is in America to talk to several officials about help for her country. While she is in New York City, her parents and younger sister were attacked and immediately the FBI Special Agent in charge of her protection detail has her brought back to her hotel. Angry and upset, the last person Princess Sophie expects to see walk into her hotel room is Special Agent Ian Stuart. The man she still loves, the man who sent her away and broke her heart.

Ian will do anything in his power to keep Sophie safe. Even if she is angry, at least she’ll be safe. Ian strongly suspects that someone inside Sophie circle knew of or planned the failed attack on her today. It is his plan to hide her in plain sight – at his family’s home on a remote and private island. He can better defend against attack from his family’s homestead, and even if it is painful for them both, at least she will be alive.

Just because a story is packaged within a novella, never assume that you will not be getting a full, interesting, intense and entertaining story. His Forbidden Princes was a completely enjoyable read. Sophie and Ian’s story is heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. These two love each other and know the dangers of being forced together by circumstances. At times funny, at other times tense and action filled, this is a story that you need to add to your collection of really good romance novels to read soon.

I recommend His Forbidden Princess for anyone who loves romance and second chances. I was swept away into a truly enjoyable story. Pick this one up and sit back while you get lost in the story.

3.5 stars. Sofia wanted to be normal, Ian was in love, clearly it was all destined to go wrong because she was a princess and he was no one. Cue a queenly arrival and broken hearts all ’round. Then eight years later Sofie’s life is in danger and Ian just happens to be the agent in charge of her safety. Which means that when things go wrong he has to take her somewhere secret and safe… What could possibly happen next?

This is another easy, second-chance romance from this series with a heroine who’s learned the hard way about making sacrifices for her country and a protective, in control hero who would do anything to keep her safe. Sofie is a likeable princess and fairly down to earth, all thing’s considered, but I have to admit her thought processes left me a little confused sometimes. One moment she’s determined not to let the terrorists win and take her home away, the next she’s planning to abdicate so she can be with Ian forever. She goes from desperate worry for her family to contemplating giving them up for love all in one breath.

Ian is much more straightforward. He has a job to do and he’ll do it, no matter how he feels for the princess. Speaking of that job, I wasn’t convinced by how a terrorist threat could gain traction through the government of a country full of perfectly contented citizens with high rates of literacy and health care. If everything’s so great there, where did the discontent come from? As for the bad guys themselves… meh, both obvious and cliché. They didn’t worry me a bit.

Unlike that ending. One moment everything is fine, then suddenly there’s a leap forward into the future where everything is sad and looking hopeless, until ta-dah! No, it isn’t! I barely even registered there was a problem before it was fixed, which left the whole last chapter feeling messy and rushed.

Overall, it’s okay. The second-chance romance is sweet enough, the characters are nice, the danger plot is ridiculous, there’s a bit of bad weather, some family drama and plenty of languishing thoughts and looks. If you want something quick and easy to read with a hint of royalty, then this will likely fit the bill.

This is the 4th book in the Royal Holiday series and this is the first book that I have read from the author for the series.
This is Ian and Sofia’s story-well their second chance at love story. Ian met Sofia at university 8 years ago and he fell for her as she did for him. Sofia wanted to tell Ian her secret but was afraid to. So she never did. They became friends, ended up falling in love and…before she could break the news and tell him who she really was--Crown Princess Sofia of Aubonne, her mother , the Queen, had her immediately brought home. Sofia was heartbroken. She loved Ian and never got to tell him anything regarding who she truly was.
FAST FORWARD—here we are 8 years later, rebels (of the bad kind) have been causing disturbances in Sofia’s country, to the point, Sofia and her family are now in danger. Now comes the point the whole Royal family needs to be moved to a place of safety for protection and that includes Sofia. Part of the protection detail is a Special Agent just for Sofia who will be tasked to make sure that she is safe but problem is, I think he is not too happy to see her…for the man charged with keeping her safe is--Special Agent Ian Stuart. Sofia’s Ian from 8 years ago, He ends up getting Sofia to a place of safety on his family’s estate in Shelter Island until the dangerous rebels are found and stopped.
While hidden, Ian and Sofia have to confront the past to see if they have a future. The passion is still there as much as the other issues are there. Ian and Sofia have a lot of twists and turns there but the charming mix of issues come up to help them battle their way along. I really loved the accent Ian had; too cute. I loved the author’s alpha male and the determination to give the readers a Alpha male. I do wish the book was longer for I know if the book was longer, the alpha male would not have been a forced issue. Overall, it was a good read. Just needed a few more tweeks an it would have been steller.
My rating: 3.9 STARS ***

-ARC kindly offered by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review-

Apparently for this fourth and final volume it converted roles. In previous books was the man of royal blood and the common girl while this time there is the powerful princess and the plebeian boy. Oh, but what I like tormented and prohibited love stories! I am romantic in nature but rather when love triumphs after facing various obstacles. In short, that suffered and gained, otherwise there is no taste.

Ian and Sofie could seem like two simple university students who feel attracted to each other. Their love was gradual, from friends have become inseparable lovers. But their story is going to end because of a secret about the girl. Sofie is a princess and therefore can not be with an ordinary person. She loved deeply Ian until her mother, the queen, she is not putting in the middle of making them break off the relationship. So the two find themselves with the broken heart.
The thing seemed to end there but after eight years the lovers find themselves in dangerous circumstances. The life of Sofie is threatened by rebels and Ian is the one who has the task of protecting her. Their feelings will come back to haunt them but ultimately it will prevail? Will they stay together in spite of the social differences?

Obviously the story has a rather quick cadence as it is contained in a little over a hundred pages but I have to say that I weighed this fact. It was a short read but enough pleasant. The Moon has created a novel with simple arguments already treated thousands of times, to read without being pretentious and for give moments to dream and relax. A "once upon a time" with a princess who falls in love with her savior bloodless blue and shining armor named Ian Stuart.

First, thank you Jeannie Moon for writing this book, second, Tull Publishing, for publishing the book, and third, to NetGalley the availability of this book, I absolutely loved it. I loved it so much I bought a copy for my library, again, thank you.

This book is sort of a reverse Cinderella or what you might say Ian-nella. The book started out while both Ian and Sophia were at Cambridge University eight years ago. Sophia never told Ian who she really was, a princess. He fell in love with her anyway and she with him. When Ian finds out who she really is even though he loves her he breaks it off, thinking he is not good enough for her.

Eight years later while Sophia is visiting the US, there is terrorist attack on the rest of her family. Thankfully, the attempt is unsuccessfully and they go into hiding.

In steps, Special Agent Ian Stewart who heads voluntarily, her protection detail. He takes her into protective custody; he however does not take her to a safe house. She finds out that some of people close to her are not so loyal at all, which hurts her.

This is a wonderful story for a second chance at love, a love that never died for either of them. I love the way the author Jeannie Moon writes the story in such a believable way. The way she writes it brings you into the story in such a phenomenal way. When I started the story I did not know it was part of a series now that I do I am going to go find the rest of these books. I have found another great author to follow in Jeanie Moon. Jeannie, you are a phenomenal writer.

Again, thank you Tull Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC of this book I loved it!

Thank you for reading my review I hope you enjoy this book half as much as I did.

ARC provided by netgalley for an honest review. Ian and Sofie met in college. They would run into each other and finally became friends. After two months of Ian knowing her he asked her on a date and the begin dating. After spending the night together her mother shows up and Ian found out the secret she has kept hidden. She was a princess. She had to return back to the palace and loose the only man who she loved. 8 years later... Ian is the head of Sofie's security detail behind the scenes. He will do anything to protect her and keep her safe. Meanwhile back in Sofie's homeland some bad things are happening and she has no clue. When Ian gets a call from her father he decides to send her people back to her homeland and take her into hiding. Both Sofie and Ian struggle with their feelings towards one another. As the story continues Ian and Sofie start to get close and let their feelings known. During the tropical storm a broadcast is done and They see that is Sofie's personal secretary saying that she has been kidnapped against her will. While Ian makes calls they hear a loud crash. From there things get crazy. you finally get to find out who was part of the group who wanted the royal family dead. I enjoyed this book and watching Sofie and Ian rekindle their love for each other. It was a good read for me and one I would read again because Ian was the perfect hero. Always doing what's right no matter his feelings. Sofie was strong at and when she finally did have her moments I still though she was a great heroin. For all its worth even though she had people after her she handled it very well and didn't get to the point of a annoying whiny brat. This is a book that should be read. It has love, action and a hot man who will die to protect the woman he loves.

I was given this book for my honest review

A Simple Syrup consists of 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar bringing to a slow boil till all the sugar is dissolved and let to cool. Most cocktails today have some sort of this syrup impressed within the drink. As this syrup is brought into our everyday lives we can come to see that what is simple is not always the cause but the effect that we have on one. When the combination is mixed with the perfect flavor it becomes an irresistible taste that we can crave but at the same time may be untouchable.

Ian-hot sexy, explosive

Sofie-princess, reserved, pretty

Ian and Sofie’s journey is not one for the story books but at the same time heartache with a touch of mystery it may just be one. The resolve from a past love to a future love is not to be obscured but embraced. When the past meets future with force can these two that were doomed at the start find their true hearts to each? Will the new binding that holds their hearts be just what the stars ordered up on the proverbial silver platter? Will the hot sex get more explosive or will it fizzle?

To the author: This was an amazing read for the books but at the same time I cried in all the right places, I screamed at both characters many times. This read was fun and even though at times became serious was a book that was a flow of great proportions you held me from the first word to the very last word read. Kudos

To the readers: This is a fun read, it is one that will have you screaming at Ian but also at Sofie. It will have you crying in all the right places and say AWE at the end.

Happy Reading
