I was given an ARC copy of Obsessed with the Mafia by Ivy Lenox in exchange for my honest review.
This was a very unique read and unlike anything I've picked up recently. One of my favorite aspects of the story was the premise itself. The idea of an author writing a mafia series, only to discover that the story she's creating is actually based on her own forgotten life, was incredibly intriguing. It added an extra layer of mystery that kept me wanting to know what was real, what was fiction, and how all the pieces would eventually fit together.
I also really enjoyed the chemistry between the author and her consultant. Their relationship felt authentic and natural, and the romantic tension and spice between them developed in a way that felt believable rather than forced. Their interactions helped ground the story and gave me characters to root for amid all the twists and revelations.
One thing that took me some time to adjust to was the writing style. The structure of the story can be a little confusing at first, and there were several moments where I found myself rereading passages to make sure I understood what was happening. Because of that, the beginning felt like a slower read for me. However, once I figured out how the story was being told and settled into the format, I found myself much more engaged and was able to fully appreciate what the author was trying to accomplish.
Overall, Obsessed with the Mafia is a creative and ambitious story with a fresh concept, compelling romance, and plenty of mystery. While the unique structure may require a little patience from readers, I found the payoff worth it and enjoyed the journey once everything started to click into place.

Obsessed With The Mafia Assassin was an intriguing read. There were sp many layers that become exposed over time in a way that keeps you enthralled. I loved the dynamic Emilia and Leo. Leo decided she was his and that was that. Emilia wasn't just a blind FMC who took whatever she was given. She paid attention and pushed back where it was important. They made difficult decisions together and fought for the future they wanted. I loved it!

At first, these moments slowed me down, but in the best way — I found myself sitting with them, letting them settle before moving on.

One of my favourite aspects was Ivy Lenox’s writing style. It isn’t a traditional, linear read, and I found myself going back to earlier chapters to reconnect threads and test my own theories. Rather than handing you all the answers, the story encourages you to piece everything together yourself, making the reveals feel far more rewarding.
The mystery was just as compelling as the romance. I was constantly questioning what was real, what was connected, and where the story was leading. It kept me engaged from beginning to end.
Leo was a standout character. He was beautifully written, easy to picture, and had the perfect balance of danger and vulnerability. His chemistry with Emilia felt natural, while Emilia herself was a strong heroine who wasn’t afraid to question things, push back, and fight for herself.

Ivy Lenox knocks it out of the park with her latest offering, Obsessed with a Mafia Assassin.
The story begins with the FMC, Emilia, a romance author with 6 bestsellers to her name, who is currently working on her 7th, but having a bit of difficulty (as I assume all writers, regardless of genres, go through with each manuscript) – not so much with plot, but with how these plots come to her.
And then on page 2, is someone in her apartment? Worse yet, was someone there and then let themselves out?
Color me intrigued! Seriously, this is only page 2, and I am hooked. The MMC hasn’t even been introduced yet.
This is not my first Ivy Lenox read. I’ve read all her books (still a relatively newish author); she improves with each one. This one catapults her to the top – or should be near the top – of everyone’s must-read authors. There is mystery, action, angst, humor, intrigue, plot twist… throw in a few sizzling-hot, spicy scenes & this is an addictive, un-put-downable read. A strong FMC going head-to-head with her thrust-upon MMC consultant/Mafia enforcer is an enticing combo. Most definitely a 5-star read … because I can’t give it more than that.

The story of Emilia & Leo.

What if she didn’t imagine/create all of those stories - what if they were based upon what had actually happened???
Leo, a fixer for the Severino family, comes into her life as if he’s a consultant for the publishing house which has been recently acquired by the family.
Emilia learns that her past is very different to what she remembered and her mother, Cecelia, was married to Don Severino who also happened to be her father.
It’s beautifully written and heart-rending in parts.

Obsessed with a Mafia Assassin is a creative and engaging mafia romance with a unique premise that kept me guessing. The mystery surrounding Emilia's forgotten past blended seamlessly with the romance, and the chemistry between Emilia and Leo felt natural and believable. I especially enjoyed Emilia's strength and the way she challenged Leo instead of simply accepting everything he said. The writing style took a little time to adjust to, and the story felt slightly confusing at first, but once everything started to click, I was completely invested. With plenty of twists, suspense, and a satisfying romance, this was a fun and memorable read that I'd definitely recommend.

Wow! Emilia and Leo's story will leave you breathless. Simply awesome! Emilia is an author and writes books about the Mafia. But for the Severino family its a bit too real. So they send in Leo, undercover, to see if she is a threat. When she tells him that it's part of her imagination and research he realizes he must help her remember. When she finds out what she has been writing, her world implodes. Get ready for a rollercoaster ride of emotions you won't be able to control. I give it FIVE HUGE STARS.

I was really exited to start this book, the blurb and excerpts had me gripped!
This is the first book I’ve read from Ivy Lenox and unfortunately also the 2nd time I have ever not finished a book.
I have shelved on page 49.
The jumps that happen on the page - between the characters thoughts, actions and speech annoyed me.
I am going to take a break for now - I will update the review after the break and started this book fresh, I am really hoping that after a break I will fall into this book!

Ivy has done it again, this is my 3rd book by her, and it did not disappoint. I was absolutely thrilled to see that the FMC was an author… the layers she creates taking you deeper into the betrayal, the danger, the tension of the attraction. Her storytelling has just gotten better with each book I have read. I am excited to see where she takes us next because I am definitely obsessed with her mafia!

I loved Leo and Emilia. I especially loved that she was an author and he was pretending to be a publisher. But he was really an assassin. Waiting to see if she remembered things from her past. This was an intense story and captivated me from the beginning. The storyline was great, and I loved the twists and turns. Setting these two suddenly come together, and those spicy moneys were so hot. This was a really great read and loved every minute of it.

This book was a page turner. I read it in under 24 hours, only stopping to eat and sleep! The writing was detailed. I felt like I was a part of the story. It is an open door romance and the scenes were spicy! I laughed. I cried. There was angst in the plot and the characters were real. It is a standalone and ends in a HEA.

This story is so worth reading more than once. I really enjoyed the story between Emilia & Leo it was spicy, suspenseful, and chaotically crazy at times. Now what I didn't expect was Emilia's mother's confession on the second page of her letter and it blew my mind. That's all I'm willing to say because I rather you enjoy the book yourself than have me spoil it for you.

This intriguing Mafia romance has drama, danger, violence, secrets, truth revealed, threat assessments, and good secondary characters. The MCs are defined, engaging, have chemistry, steam, and hidden agendas. I enjoyed this entertaining and engaging book.

The twists and turns in this were incredible. Emilia and Leo are an unlikely pairing, but if fated mates existed in the mafia world, it would be these two. I didn't see any of the plot twists coming. There are so many easter eggs throughout this book that keeps you coming back for more. I loved it. Another great work from Ivy!

I had such high hopes for this book.. but 13% in and it feels like the author is abruptly starting and stopping where the FMCs writing is and where the story is being told. I love if this was your jam but it’s absolutely not for me.

I really enjoyed. The whole concept of the story drew me in and it was a great read. I liked everything about it.
