Now a lady of leisure with servants to cater to her every whim, all Maria wants is to spend time with her new husband, learning to ride a motorcycle and sneaking off for a romantic swim.
But with her husband's increasing work pressures and all eyes upon her, even Maria begins to wonder if she has what it takes to be a society wife. And the ocean's siren call is growing stronger...

One thing's for certain: Maria is in for a bumpy ride.

Demelza Carlton

USA Today Bestselling Author Demelza Carlton has always loved the ocean, but on her first snorkelling trip she found she was afraid of fish.
She has since swum with sea lions, sharks and sea cucumbers and stood on spray-drenched cliffs over a seething sea as a seven-metre cyclonic swell surged in, shattering a shipwreck below.
Sensationalist spin? No - Demelza tends to take a camera with her so she can capture and share the moment later; shipwrecks, sharks and all.
Demelza now lives in Perth, Western Australia, the shark attack capital of the world.
The Ocean's Gift series was her first foray into fiction, followed by the Nightmares trilogy. She swears the Mel Goes to Hell series ambushed her on a crowded train and wouldn't leave her alone.

I do not know what it is, but the minute I start the next book in Maria's adventure I find it harder and harder to put them down. Finally being reunited with William, it is not quite what she thought. Society and rules are going to be a test she must face and pass to William's good wife.

Will she be able to overcome her Siren side and be more human than siren? Will society and its rules be her downfall? Its interesting as times she seems to have it and others just wants to swim away. Can't wait for more.

what a great story. Again Demelza Carlton has outdone herself. THis mermaid/human story has me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next thing to happen, There is romance and intrigue going on here. I love how she can just get into the water and swim with the fish, keep them at bay and just enjoy the gossip with the dolphins. She tries to get the human part right, but the mermaid part wonders if she is all wrong for it.

Good story

Great stories which they were longer and less books in the series. The stokes don’t stand alone so I think the author left you in a place that forced you to keep buying the next book in the series. The individual books weren’t complete and so she should have put them together as one book.

When I read the first three books in the Turbulence and Triumph series, I have to admit to being a tad disappointed with the ending of Book 3. Not because the series was let down in any way shape or form - but because after William and Maria's difficulties and obstacles in the first three books, I was disappointed not to see more of their happily ever after.
But now, oh, joy of joys, Ms.Carlton is back with the fourth book in the series, and I can happily say I was delighted with the entire book from start to finish.
In this book, we pick up from where we left off, with the newly-married couple settling into life together on Christmas Island. Blissfully happy with her new husband, Maria does have a number of obstacles to overcome - not least of which is dealing with the rules and regulations surrounding Christmas Island society and her role in it. Watching Maria try to get used to the social restrictions placed upon her was entertaining and beautifully written by Ms. Carlton.
Another highlight of this series is the way Ms. Carlton has captured the historical accuracy of Christmas Island life during the early part of the 20th century. It's is apparent from her writing and the descriptions she has given, that Ms. Carlton takes her research seriously and this shows in the beauty of what she writes.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, love the characters and highly recommend this series to other readers. I received an advanced copy of Ocean's Ride from Ms. Carlton, but would have happily purchased it, as I had done the first three books in the series.

Ocean's Ride is the latest installment of the captivating Turbulence and Triumph series. Finally reunited with her lover, William, Maria is now 'Mrs McGregor' but she's going to have to change more than her name to fit in.

As if blending in with humans wasn't hard enough already, she now has to learn a completely new set of rules and etiquette - let's face it, Emily Post’s 'Etiquette' is no where near as interesting as the Karma Sutra when it comes to reading materials!

Although somewhat shy and awkward as far as posh Christmas Island society is concerned, Maria is in her element when she and William manage to get some alone time, and she finds a new kind of freedom in William's motorcycle.

Another unputdownable release from Demelza Carlton, and a full five out of five!

I received an ARC eBook in exchange for an honest review. I've read the first book "Ocean's Justice" in the series and now this fourth book! Even though the story is continued from book to book, I was able to enjoy this book. I don't recommend skipping books in a series but Demelza Carlton writes her stories so well that even though I missed a lot of details, I was brought into the story without feeling lost. I enjoyed reading about Maria's struggles with becoming a human wife to William and her insecurities about what she perceives to be failures. Thoroughly entertaining! I highly recommend this series!

Quick Read, Great Writing

Another great entertaining read. I just can't get enough of Maria strength. It nice to read about a strong straight forward female lead who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to do what needs to be done to get it, and in this book keep it. Trying to be a woman with that attitude and fitting in with high society without giving up is hard. I love how this Ocean's Ride shows Maria's fight with this very problem and her refusal to give up.

The fourth installment in the series starts where the last left off. Maria is having to learn to how to fit in to the high society life of Christmas life and how to be a proper wife. There are some comical times. The author does a good job of portraying the era. I highly recommend the series.
