Ava Freeman writes contemporary romance that centers the Black queer woman’s experience. Through her stories, she strives to give readers rich, complex characters that always find their happily ever after.
This story was so well put together. I enjoyed Mel reflecting on her own issues with love after her friends laid the truth out for her. The accountability she took led her to her blessing and healing. Seeing her finally feeling safe and not chasing anymore made me extremely happy.
Ava managed to capture how tender, raw, and scary connecting with someone on such a deep level can be — and I loved every minute of it. I truly don’t even have the words for how much I enjoyed this book. Lola and Mel’s chemistry was so tender and so hot, I loved them both.
This novella was sweet, spicy and just what i ordered. I loved the characters and could see my self in them, especially Lola, i love reading black queer love, that isn’t all about struggle.
This was the perfect weekend read and nothing short of amazing. Ava's stories are just so emotional and beautifully written you just feel like you've been swept off your feet. And she always gives just enough spice to satisfy that slow burn but it's never over the top. Once again....well done.
