A mastermind pulls invisible strings. A new darkness threatens to consume everything. But this witch won't go down easy.
Amber Lee may be a powerful witch, but she's still completely outmatched. A mysterious figure in control of a fanatically loyal cult is hunting her down and won't stop until she and everyone she holds dear is dead. Life doesn't throw anyone any breaks, though, and when animals around Raven's Glen start to die Amber and her friends are left with no choice but to investigate. What they find at the source... changes everything.
Enter Collette, the Necromancer.
Amber must decide whether fighting darkness with darkness is better than fighting it with light, but she must do it fast because the Necromancer isn't whole or stable, and while she could prove to be a powerful ally, her very presence is a threat to everyone; friend and foe.

This book is an amazing action packed twister!! If you love the paranormal types with witches and heart pounding scenes then I highly recommend this book to you!! I received this book in return of an honest review
A fun read to pass the weekend hours with. I'd have rated it higher if it hadn't been for Collette's dialogue. I don't think I've ever been so irritated with a character. She's French, I got it. No need to spell "the" as "zee," or "this" as "zis." The magical lore was interesting, as was the alternate underworld. Katerina hits the ground running in terms of crafting alternate worlds and unsettling settings. I'm curious about what's in store next for Amber and co(ven), and will naturally be picking up the fourth installment sometime soon to see what happens. Please don't let there be more French witches.
I loved this book! It's beautifully written with characters I want to know even more about and a plot that kept me turning pages to see what else would happen. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series. I've read another book with settings in the underword that I completely LOATHED for all the plot holes and continuity errors. There's no comparison - Shadow Witch is light years better.
The story plot is getting better. I liked the previous book too.katerina is making us to sit in the end of seat. It's like a horror movie waiting for the end to come.i enjoyed it and finished in a single sitting. Eagerly waiting for the next book too. Amber is such an amazing, extra ordinary witch. Like said, she deserves happy life with Aaron.
Out of all the Amber Lee books, this one is my favorite. The unique way Katerina Martinez creates her world, merging fantasy magic with Wiccan magic is amazing. I love how detailed the magic is. Adding in a Necromancer was also brilliant.
The writing was as always superbly done. Also, the characterization was nicely done as well. The only issue I had with that was the lack of emotion for some things. Like Amber just ‘getting over’ what Damien had done, with little resentment. Honestly, I felt like I was missing a huge chunk of healing and forgiveness that Amber needed to go through. After all, she was nearly in love with him.
I still want to hit Damien right now. And he had little opportunity in this novel to fix my perception of him.
As for Aaron, he’s growing on me. However, I wish there was more of him in here as well as more interaction with Amber. However, this series isn’t a romance, despite having romance in it. So I’ll live. ^_^;
Lastly, I do like - while at the same time DISLIKE - how realistic everyone’s decisions are. Like Damien’s huge mess-up. That is realistic and happens so much in 'real life' and the fact that Katerina Martinez addresses it even in a fantasy-type series is great. But I also don’t like it because the situation sucks. But the author incorporating realistic romantic failures for horrible reasons makes this series more realistic despite how fantastical it is. Which makes for good writing.
Although, I secretly wonder if after the first book, the author decided to change who should be with Amber suddenly and needed a reason they split up. Or if it was planned from the beginning… Something to think about.
Deserves to be winning awards. The honest, real, not too steamy adult paranormal genre has finally found it's leading lady. This is a series where the characters become friends and reading the next installment is like a visit to catch up. Katerina Martinez pays attention to detail. The sight, smells, sounds and feelings suck you into the pages so you can imagine yourself holding a candle, following Amber and her coven through a cavernous chamber, chilled to the bone. I actually caught myself shivering. The research done is impeccable. All mystical references are accurate and the terminology used use sparse enough not to overwhelm but inform the reader that this is reality based and not some fantasy. Magick could be real, who are we to judge. I am spellbound by the quality of the writing and cannot wait to see what happens next in Raven's Glen.
This was an interesting read. Amber and crew having to trek into the Underworld to fight a shadow? Sounds amazing! And as usual, Amber trusts too easily and ends up being betrayed by someone. The ending is as you would hope for, but I feel like there will be a twist in the next book involving the Necromancer. This unfortunately wasn't the best read in the series so far, but I have high hopes for the next installment.
Katerina has a great way of making you see what Amber sees, sometimes I feel like I am actually there next to Amber.
I recommend this book, but keep in mind that it is a bit predictable. But I cannot wait to read the next one.
Katerina Martinez really ramps up the action in this third full-length installment of the Amber Lee mystery series, "The Necromancer." In this book, Amber is taken out of her home and away from her normal surroundings and thrust into a very real, and very scary, arena, where she must do battle with the forces of darkness. Each book in this series just keeps getting better and better and I highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys the paranormal, featuring a strong female lead.
**I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review**

'The Necromancer' was full of adventure, unknowns, mystery and action. The storyline pulled me in from the beginning and didn't let go. Well written and well thought out. Amber is truly coming into her untapped powers. She has proven to be able to hold her own and take on many unknowns. Frank and Damien played a big part in the way the story played out. I can't wait to read 'Red Witch', the next book in the 'Amber Lee Mysteries'. A great add to your tbr list.
You know how you always have that one person who has an alterior motive? Well, Amber seems to be a magnet for them.
The writer's description of the underworld was something I've never read another book f en close to. Maybe being inside a demon in one book was close, but the Underworld created here was a vocally visual treat for me in my own mind.
Great read, even though I had to leave it hanging 3/4 of the way through. So glad we went fishing/reading today!!
I chose five stars for The Necromancer. This book kept me entranced from beginning to finish, I could not put it down once I started. I hated for it to end. I'm ready for the next adventure. So excited to read more from such an amazing author. Thanks Katerina Martinez.
After reading the entire series, twice, I found the characters engaging and the plot beyond imaginative, throw in a large dash of the author making everyone not taking themselves not to seriously until they have to, and you have a gripping hilarious, Darjeeling rollercoaster of a ride in a world where nothing is quite as it seems. Loved it.
katerina martinez has done it again. Necromancer my favourite book out of the series so far if you like withes and werwolves this book is for you I loved that the book is set in the underworld. I love how the story is going can't wait for book 4 .
Awesome, wonderful and amazing series. Katerina Martinez is a genius. This story line keeps getting better and better. I'm just curious as to what will be next in Amber's very exciting life. I highly recommend this writer and series.
This book was an amazing read. The premise of the Underworld was totally fascinating! What an imagination! I have learned a lot about witches and other paranormal mysteries as explored by this author! Now onto The Red Witch, can't wait.
I started this book in the middle of series. I was as little lost but the storyline was still good enough to not make me completely lost. The red witch was comforting and likeable. I can't wait to read the next book.
Intriguing action packed story with a battle taking place in the underworld. The author does a great job putting you in the story and it's quite easy to picture what is happening in the story. Entertaining read! Recommend this series!
I thoroughly enjoyed the first 2 books in the Amber Lee series and the 3rd book in the series does not disappoint. It was everything I expected and more. I can't wait to see what Katerina Martinez has in store next.
But, if you haven't read one and two, don't read this one first. They are not stand alone books. But, the stories are like a tale you would read around a camp ground. Good, but a little spooky.
Awesome, wonderful and amazing series. Katerina Martinez is a genius. This story line keeps getting better and better. I'm just curious as to what will be next in Amber's very exciting life. I highly recommend this writer and series.
