він ревенант з 14 століття, якого колись прокляла стара відьма, і прив'язаний до свого замку
а ще, в нього є котик ревенант 🥹
історія іх стосунків дуже крута, я і поржала, ну бо він живе ще в столітті 14, а вона в 21
в минулому він був воєначальником, і те як він вчився завойовувати її - це було дуже мило
є вайби красуні та чудовиська, він морально сірий, сталкерить її, а головне, є пірсинг 😏

Класна книжечка з милим монстром, який піклується, готує для тебе, нагріває шкарпетки щоб тобі було зручно, носить воду щоб ти прийняла ванну, задовільняє в ліжку, і має замок. Ну хто відмовиться? Тому і Клара вирішила, що виграла джекпот)
А ще має кумедного кота, і город 🤗
В мене лишилося питання щодо їх віку, типу хто старітиме, але окей, це не головне.
Читалось легко, ці перепалки, ці непорозуміння через століття, сподобалось все)

Така собі казка про Красуню та Чудовисько. Тільки Чудовисько - це наш 700-річний ревенант із діркою в серці та пірсингом на 🍆 І не тільки 😋Ну а що? 700 років якось же треба було розважатися

Книга мені сподобалася, маленька по об'єму, легка у читанні, цікава
От, Марко цікавий (був😁) мафіозі, у іншій книзі про нього, мені могло б і сподобатися, стандартна мафіозна книжка - переслідування, примусовий/фіктивний шлюб 😁 Але книга не про нього, тому, ну Марко ти був поганий 😁

Я вибачаюсь. Чому так мало? Дайте ще і ще!
Така маленька історія, але ж яка насичена подіями, що несила було відірватись. Мені абсолютно все зайшло, починаючи від трохи дурненької але зухвалої та саркастичної Клари, — головної героїні, до Ревенанта, а можна собі цього чоловіка? Те, як він турбується про свою непрохану гостю, тільки підливає маселка!
Я просто кайфанула, від їхньої взаємодії.
Мені дуже сподобався сенс цієї історії! Всього вистачало, навіть замало. Сподобались їхні перепалки між собою, те як їхні культурні та соціальні звички відрізняються.
А Шму?! Цей кіт!!!

Besides having to leave all modern amenities behind, she explores the castle and soon realizes she can't be the only living being there. Enter Aldric, a revenant, cursed together with the castle, thirsting for company 🖤
Liana hooked me from the first line, and I love the bratty banter between the FMC and the morally dark monster lord trying (and failing) to behave properly 😏 She also added a sidekick, and what other animal than an imperiously adorable cat 🐈⬛ could possibly fit this story.

Clara was so witty and adorable, and Aldric was everything *swoons*. this authors writing was fantastic, the plot was perfectly fleshed out with a gorgeous gothic setting, i’m moving into Blackthorn Keep asap 🖤

I loved this so much. It reminded me a modern day, yet not modern day Beauty and the Beast . You will understand if you read it .
Aldric is an overprotective beast who lived a life 700 years ago, and Clara comes from the modern day , and tries to explain technology to him. It was so funny !!
But the love between them was something else. Beauty is not skin deep. It goes so much further than that.
Also let’s not forget the spice . WOW !!! That was something else !!!

Toss out any of what you know about revenants, Lord Aldric really is his own kind of monster. And what a monster!
It’s my favorite catnip of a monstrous and powerful creature who knows treasure when it finds him, and where their sparky repartee is as fun to read as their enthusiastic sex.

I was hooked from the moment I started this book!🤩 the storyline flows so well and keeps you interested from beginning to end, Aldric is a cursed revenant who is 700 years old imprisoned to his castle, having watched everyone he knew leave him one by one...for 700 years, no one has been able to enter his castle, save for his servants and their descendants. he is such a wonderful, yet sad broody, and lonely character. then comes Clara, who immediately captivates him and brightens his lonely existence with her strong personality. the romance between Clara and Aldric does come across as a bit insta-lovey, but it’s done so well!🥰 their chemistry is instant, yet their growing connection feels warm and genuine🥰 Aldric is truly sweet in his efforts to woo Clara, and the dual POV makes the story such a delight to read😆 I love their relationship, their communication, their banter, and of course I love Schmoo! he’s the best😍
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: I know that going into a Liana Valerian book will be worth it!✨ I really enjoyed this one. it’s sweet, lighthearted, and has almost no conflict, making it one of my comfort reads that I’ll definitely revisit in the future!!

If that's what all evil, bloodthirsty warlords are like then sign me up for one because hot damn. At the end of the prologue I was like ah geez the author has got a lot of work to do to make me like this MMC, he's pretty awful. Then literally by chapter FOUR I was already obsessed with him. So often I found myself cursing Clara because Aldric is just a sweet baby and he doesn't know any better! 😂 I recognize that I am absolutely part of the problem because I steady stayed on his side and was ready to defend his honor not giving a single damn about what happened 700 years ago, you feel me? 😂😂
Clara is running from her psycho, controlling mafia boyfriend and his goons. She's in unfamiliar woods and desperate for an escape. The spooky looking castle up on the hill probably isn't the best first choice but when nothing else is around what's a girl to do? She has no idea when she stumbles inside that she's just uncovered a secret that has been hidden in plain sight for centuries. Aldric was cursed to be a revenant as a punishment for his rage, slaughter, and conquest of innocent people. He has spent the last 700 years locked in a castle and slowly watching everyone that was allowed within it fade away to time. He is not alive, but he cannot die. Forever forced to just exist, alone. Until a very loud and clumsy woman bursts through his door, eats his strawberries, reads his book, and sleeps in his bed. Aldric finds himself wanting to keep his little intruder and Clara doesn't know if she can find it in herself to want to leave.
This was absolutely amazing from start to finish, truly. I had such an awesome time within the walls of Blackthorn Keep. There was mystery, slight adventure, twists, good feels, sad feels, a snarky animal sidekick, some insanely delicious spice, an unexpected kidnapping, a little stabby action, and some hilarious banter that had me laughing so hard in between fanning myself from how insane their chemistry was.

I absolutely loved this story! Aldric and Clara were so epic together! 🥰
Clara is running from the man she was supposed to marry when she stumbles upon a castle and decides to seek shelter inside. She assumes it’s abandoned but very quickly discovers she’s definitely not alone.
Aldric is an undead Revenant who has been cursed by a witch and confined to the castle for centuries. He’s been alone for a VERY long time, and now suddenly there’s a woman in his castle. Aldric is very quick to claim Clara, and for some unknown reason, Clara also finds herself trapped and unable to leave.
These two had instant chemistry that I absolutely loved! Their banter starts almost immediately and continues throughout the entire book, constantly keeping me smiling.
Aldric definitely has a lot to learn about this modern woman. 😂 He’s an ancient warlord who has never really had to try very hard to get what he wants, but I loved that he was willing to learn. He listens to Clara, learns to respect what she wants and will actually apologise when he realises he’s messed up. Underneath everything, Aldric is such a sweet, sensitive soul… but he also has a very sexy, spicy, dirty-talking side that will have you melting 🫠🔥

Clara is running from the man she was supposed to marry when she stumbles upon a castle and decides to seek shelter inside. She assumes it’s abandoned but very quickly discovers she’s definitely not alone.
Aldric is an undead Revenant who has been cursed by a witch and confined to the castle for centuries. He’s been alone for a VERY long time, and now suddenly there’s a woman in his castle. Aldric is very quick to claim Clara, and for some unknown reason, Clara also finds herself trapped and unable to leave.
These two had instant chemistry that I absolutely loved! Their banter starts almost immediately and continues throughout the entire book, constantly keeping me smiling.
Aldric definitely has a lot to learn about this modern woman. 😂 He’s an ancient warlord who has never really had to try very hard to get what he wants, but I loved that he was willing to learn. He listens to Clara, learns to respect what she wants and will actually apologise when he realises he’s messed up. Underneath everything, Aldric is such a sweet, sensitive soul… but he also has a very sexy, spicy, dirty-talking side that will have you melting 🫠🔥

Verdict: This is the kind of gothic romance that wraps its fingers around you slowly. By the time you realise you should be afraid, you're already leaning closer. It's dark, twisted, sensual, and hauntingly romantic. I didn't want to escape this castle; I wanted to stay there.

This was such an incredible read I couldn’t put it down once I started. A man who is cursed to spend an eternity stuck in a castle and a woman who stumbles upon this castle while escaping from her fiancé, not realising there’s something hiding in the shadows watching her.
Clara is on the run from her fiancé in a forest when she comes upon a decaying castle thinking it’s safe to hide here from him but not realising there is a cursed monster living there.
Aldric thinking that no one would find his castle because it’s hidden from everyone is surprised to see Clara there he’s afraid to reveal himself to her because of the way he looks. He is a cursed monster.
His between living and death, a revenant,and now he will do everything to keep Clara and to prevent her from leaving. Clara at first is frightened of him when she sees him but the more she gets to know him she curious about him, he’s grotesque yet devastating handsome.
Aldric heart beats only for her, he would choose her always and for Clara she has to decide can she stay with him or go back to her old life 💕

Absolutely LOVED this book! 😍 This was *perfection*
The gothic vibes, the curse, Aldrik, their love story, Shmoo and the mystery kept me on the edge of my seat and hooked. I just couldn’t stop reading it yesterday. Everything about the story, writing, characters and the humor kept me entertained. I had the best time reading this book.
I didn’t even feel that it was a shorter book. I would have loved kept reading it, but the story rounded up perfectly nonetheless. I felt their love story was hauntingly beautiful. And let me just say Aldrik with his most imperfect ways was just perfect. They just were perfect for each other and after the initial and natural stand off moments, they just made perfect sense together. I thought that the acceptance and love they had for each other was beautiful. That they found their final home together. 🥹
I will have to give honorable mention to Shmoo. Our perfect furry friend. He just tied the story up into a prefect little bow. He was so sweet and funny. Love our protective judgmental cat. 🐈⬛

What a heartwarming story. Mayhap some what cozy even. A FMC who is escaping. A MMC who was cursed because of the type of person he was. Yes redemption very much is a thing. I enjoyed the ease of their bond/bonding. The MMC would end up sticking his foot in his mouth. The FMC wouldn't stay butt hurt about it. The problems and the drauma rolled in but nothing was drug out overly.
There isn't much world building because it's set in a contemporary setting. It just builds itself. I think we all know what a cabin looks like and a castle. There was the MMC backstory which did have world building into the past.
The first scene in the book is the explanation of how the MMC ended up cursed. What he did basically. The details as well which went hand in hand with the world building were simply amazing. The author gives us a very in-depth and complex foundation. Which I found was very important later in the book.
I had all my questions comments and concerns resolved by the end. The ease of the the flow of the story really kept its hooks into me.
Lastly I received this as an arc but I'm not obligated to leave this review.
Fun thing to look out for "jacobs ladder" just like ruffles there's ridges. Oh and the spicy medium I'd say.

What is there not to love about Aldric? Yes, he’s a seven-hundred-year-old corpse, but he also draws you a bath with rose petals, cooks for you and makes you scream his name in pleasure… how could you resist? This beauty and the beast inspired monster romance had me devouring it in one sitting!
My Synopsis:
Running away from marrying into the mafia, Clara escapes through the Black Forest. As her pursuers gain on her, suddenly an old castle looks like her best option for refuge. Appearing abandoned at first, Clara takes cover in the castle and sets about making herself comfortable only to find out later that it’s not abandoned at all. Aldric, the Revenant, has been trapped there for thousands of years and is craving human contact and touch… and Clara is the first woman to interest him in centuries, so he’s not about to let her go.
As always, Liana’s writing is all at once descriptive, humorous and touching. With a pierced, tattooed and scarred MMC who will do anything to protect and care for his FMC, this captive/captor, touch her and 💀 paranormal romance, makes it to my favorites of 2026 list!

This book is the perfect time travel with old and new mixing up into a perfect world where everything is fuzzy and surrounded by blue light. The conqueror is delicious and the heroine is sassy. The cat always gets the fish. And finally the hero doesn't have to turn into a handsome living man to call it a happy ending. This is my favourite romantasy book at the moment because neither of our protagonists have to change to receive their happy ever afters.
This book contains magic, death, love, intrigue, a twist of story and fate. It's old and new in just the right ways. The two way narrative is perfect. There is a difference between the two inner voices.
The writer has a talent to transport the reader into an ageless story and has the courage to find a different ending from the Beauty and the Beast. Hat off for the great story telling and to let the heroes be and stay themselves. There's never been a yummier undead falling apart on the pages and right into our hearts and other parts. Six out of five stars.

Okay, I’m starting to think Beauty and the Beast–style monster romances are just my thing now. 😂
I LOVED Aldric. This poor man has been cursed and alone for 700 YEARS, looks absolutely terrifying, and somehow I’m sitting here like *awww, he just needs someone to love him.* 😭😂
But Clara was probably what really made this work for me. She literally runs away because she refuses to marry a man she doesn’t want, so I loved that she kept that same energy with Aldric. She wasn’t going to trade one cage for another. If she stayed, it was going to be because SHE chose to.
And Clara trying to explain modern technology to a 700-year-old man?! 😂 Some of those moments were so freaking funny.
But underneath all of that, I genuinely loved their relationship. Watching Clara stop seeing Aldric as this terrifying monster and start seeing *him* got me. 🥹
And then there was the spice…
