First read for me by this author. This is the first part of a series of short stories that are now available in a complete collection on kindle. This first story was free at the time I downloaded it. Three years ago Brandon jilted Charity on the eve of their wedding to run off to Hollywood to pursue an acting career. Present day Charity has moved on with her life and been dating James for the past year all is going well till Brandon shows up in town. While I quite liked this there's the cheating aspect I'm not keen on, Charity seems to fall straight back into Brandon's arms without remembering that she's got a long term boyfriend. There was also the fact that Charity and Brandon had lived different lives since Brandon left three years previously they just seemed poles apart, it felt like neither would fit into the others lifestyle. I liked Brandon he was remorseful about how he treated Charity in the past, Charity might be considered weak for giving in to Brandon, but the truth is she still has feelings for him. Even so I still wasn't keen on her. This ends on a cliffhanger. I'm not sure that I want to read more in this series.
Like in real life sometimes we do the right think... other times not so much... the characters of this book are painting in a very human "true colors".
Brandon at some point in life thinks his best option in life is to pursue an acting career some years later after achieving a good level of success and still be in love for his old sweetheart he rethinks his decisions and come back to win the love of his life... and nothing is easy... so he needs to persist and time after time prove is really there for her... after a long process he finally achieve is goal... and voilà! a beautiful but not always perfect love story.
Good read so far. Charity gets left at the alter by her boyfriend Brandon. Fast Forward 3 yrs later and he is a famous movie star. He comes home from LA and they keep running into each other. She already has a BF but dumps him quickly after realizes she doesn't love James. Her heart still belongs to Brandon. Soon, Brandon and Charity get together and hes already talking about her moving to California to live with him. Too fast! Brandon's Ex comes back in the picture and Charity is kinda left spooked. Gonna jump into Book 2.
Charity was dumped by Brandon the night before her wedding. She's left broken for three years as he went onto Hollywood and became a big star. He comes back to their small town and thinks he can start where they left off and like an idiot she does. Just my opinion but he should have had to work harder to get back in her life and she should have had more backbone.
Hero is so NOT heroic it makes this series impossible to enjoy!
I love a good "second chance" romance, but only when the hero or heroine has redeemable characteristics. In Hollywood Heartthrob we have a "hero" with no such characteristics, we're to believe that Brandon (our "hero") left Charity our heroine at the altar!!! We're talking these two were supposed to be "soul mates" they were childhood sweethearts, madly in love! So he LEAVES her at the altar, YEARS pass he has since become a major Hollywood actor (and I'm sure slept with everything in a skirt, it's suggested) he comes back to his small hometown for a supposed family reunion and bam runs into Charity, the girl he jilted. Suddenly he's all "let me have an hour to talk to you." After a weak a$$ apology which honestly was the lamest apology ever he ends it with a I loved you but I took the selfish way out, since I felt as if you wanted me to be someone else. There was a big misunderstanding that he DID NOT EVEN STICK AROUND TO ASK HER ABOUT, remember this is supposed to be his great love, but instead of clearing the air right then, he jilts her. So after he explains and Charity (being a much bigger person than I would have been) FORGIVES HIM and even tells him she doesn't hate him, she refuses his dinner offer and gets pensive to which he gets rude and says "you're not the sweet Charity I used to know, blah blah blah" REALLY?!?! The A-hole jilts her, she forgives him, but because she is "cold and standoffish to him" (he deserved it and more) SHE's the bad guy?! So they run into one another again, he makes moves on her (oh because he still loves her...yes, that's so believable after jilting her at the altar AND then never calling, writing NOTHING) and she ...wait for it...swoon, falls for him again...she loves him, still and always, let's forget that he did an unforgivable thing and DID NOT adequately apologize, grovel, make up for it...I'm sorry, but for a second chance romance to work the hero NEEDS TO NOT be a total douche canoe! This is one romance that REALLY FALLS SHORT ON THE ROMANCE. And hey, Charity, grow a backbone and realize you're worth more than the spineless coward that abandoned you without giving you the chance to explain yourself and then when re-entering your life expects you to just fall over backward and back In love with him.
Here's another hit from one of my favorite authors, Bella Love-Wins, and Miss Audra Cole.
This may be another cliffhanger ending, but the road to getting mesmerized by a Hollywood star was not a not an easy one. Broken hearted and left at the altar a few hours before getting married, Charity strived to live, move on and forget everything about Brandon. Three years & one serious boyfriend later, Charity comes face to face with the man who broke her heart. Hot, gorgeous, ripped and famous, Brandon still makes her tongue-tied and crazy-in-love all over again.
And.. that's it for now. No spoilers after that. It is best to read this yourself and get thrilled, just like me. The authors did a great job engrossing the readers and anticipating the next book!
Charity is so ready to married the love of her life the boy next door! But Brandon has other plans. At the last minute with all the pressure he runs.
Charity start living her life again she meets James, she thinks he the answer to everything but then again do we really ever know anyone true colors..
James wants to change Charity but is she ready to give up everything about herself to live with him and change who she is.
Brandon shows up out of nowhere throwing Charity life in world spin. Will Charity make the right choice and marry James or walk away or will Brandon finally do the right thing and step up or will he walk away again.
Audra Cole and Bella Love-wins did a great job telling this story. I found it easy to identify with Charity. James and Brandon are well written and intriguing. Charity's friend Ashley is very supportive. This book is full of surprises and some interesting plot developments. I cannot imagine how I would react if I were in Charity's position. This book is a great escape. The romance in this book is sweet and complex. I would recommend this to other readers.
I could not put it down, and I was so glad that I had book two so I could keep reading. In this book, you start out hating Brandon and just when you start to like him and possibly forgive him, the ending happens. Now you are not sure again. Great storyline, and the cover is just plain hot. I have got to keep reading.
I gave this book five stars because it is an easy read plus I have read other books by these authors. I love the characters and how they are working thru there troubles. I just hate that it was a cliff hanger. Over all its a great book and I finished it in a couple hours.
After finishing this book, I completely understand why this was a free download on the Kindle.
My coworker recommended this one to me because she thought I would find it hilarious. I am no longer taking reading recommendations from this coworker.
I was drawn to the title more then the writing not sure what as t was missing for me but it just wasn't there it's not a bad book but I won't read the rest of the series
This is the first book I've read by these authors and I really enjoyed it. It's an easy, fun read and I loved Charity the main character. It does end with a cliffhanger and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Very enjoyable story about a love lost and returns. But is it everything it seems to be we will have to wait and see. And hope for no more hurt for the girl who got dumped the night be for her wedding
This book was heartbreaking at the beginning. Just thinking about what Brandon done to Charity is unthinkable. The ending I did not see coming, but now I have to see where this ends. I have to read the whole series.
I manly really sure what to say about this book. It was not poorly written story premise was ok but in all I found it boring even when they finally did have sex.. I also despise these little shorts stories . If they weren't on unlimited kindle I wouldn't read at all
I didn't like the main character of the book. That aside, I thought the writing was nice and the book was actually quite believable. Nothing seemed too forced or over dramatic, which is a relief.
3 1/2 stars. I liked this story overall, aside from one particular issue that I won't say so as not to spoil anything. There were some funny points and I liked chemistry between Charity and Brandon. Overall, a good quick read.
I gave this book 3 stars! I enjoyed the story and it's premise. The characters are likeable and the story line keep me engaged. I look forward to read the other books in this series.
A wonderful start to what I hope is a second chance romance. Had me hooked from the start, can't wait to start the second book to see what happens with Charity and Brandon. Very HOT sex scenes.
I had to give this additional points because Brandon is not an overbearing jackass which is rare and not usually expected in books like these, to be honest.
Usual storyline and characters. Not bad just predictable. Got this free from Amazon. If you are looking for a typical love lost and found again you may enjoy this one.
