Your Ex-Boyfriend Will Hate This

Rate this book
Your Ex-Boyfriend Will Hate This, is a relationship advice book that differentiates itself mostly by not being about dating at all…

Instead, it’s about answering the four core questions in life:

1) Who are you?
2) Where are you?
3) Where are you going?
4) Who are you going with?

The book suggests that the last of these questions can only be satisfactorily resolved by answering the other three first.

You must know who you are before you can know where you are in life.
You must understand where you are in life before you can decide where your life is headed.
You must also know your destination before you can choose the right “travel” partner.

To address these essential questions, we invite the reader to contemplate the origins of:

Their ideas on love.
Their ideas of what constitutes the “perfect” mate.
Their ideas of their own personal “type”.
And most importantly, their ideas of themselves, including their own capacity to love and be loved.

Your Ex-Boyfriend Will Hate This isn’t a set of inflexible rules for who you should be, how you should behave, or who and what you should care about because life is messy, and people are not the same. This book helps you unearth the “rules” which best suit you. Often success in life isn’t about discovering concrete “answers,” it’s about asking the questions better.

This is better than any relationship book I have read so far. She’s Just Not Into You and Think Like A Man/Act Like Woman are nothing compared to this reality-based, practical book. You can actually apply this philosophy to your own life. Next?

**I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.**

The cover is very deceptive. This isn't a fictional romance, rather it is a nonfiction relationship advice book that focuses on YOU!

Instead of telling you rule upon silly rule, the book focuses on what you want out of a relationship. It is very self-reflective and I like that it tries to get you to self-define yourself as an independent women--not someone who is defined by the relationship she is in.

It's witty and fun, making it easy to read and absorb the information. But it is also serious when it needs to be. It's upfront and doesn't shy away from issues that we as a culture don't like talking about like abuse and woman exploring their sexuality.

Overall: a great, modern approach to romantic relationships!

Looks are deceiving when it comes to Your Ex-Boyfriend Will Hate This. The cover looks like a romance novel and the name gives of a dating book but trust me when I say it is neither. It's so much more than a dating book. It doesn't give that over-the-top advice with rules or how-to-guides. The book makes you take a good hard look at yourself and what you expect from a future partner. It is very humorous and will have you laughing at times. Your Ex-Boyfriend Will Hate this is an insightful journey into self discovery and finding out who you are and what you want in yourself and who you are with.
