Amazing

This is the BEST way (IMO the only way) to enjoy this storyline.

There's nothing like binge reading these stories in order, together, for complete immersion into this addictive and engaging world!

All of the Hebert brothers find themselves, their forever loves, and the rebuilding of their connections in different ways, but it was very rewarding to follow. The extensive dangers (and mystery of why the illegal activities were so hard to stop) kept the pages flipping effortlessly, and I adored the way these characters persevered.

This boxset gives ALL the feels - steamy chemistry, intense dangers, deep emotional healing, and the perfect HEAs!!

The Clive chapters are downright fantastic!
I loved having his thoughts about everything, and his actions and intentions with these characters. Just So Good!!

I recommend this author, this boxset, and any other work from this talented and creative author.

DNF @ 24% - I completely finished the first book in this omnibus and attempted book 2. Unfortunately the characters are getting worse by the page and the antagonists are too obviously in our face.

Book 1 starts with Adele - a horrific caricature of feminists that would happily suit the red pill male sect more than a female romance author should. She has all the anger management issues you would expect from an entitled pampered male, mixed with all the lack of self respect and lack of adaptability you find in a subjugated female. She also has a relatively useless set of overly entitled and under logical brothers. Adele's best assets are her dog and her determination to support women in a male dominant workplace, which is just not enough for an fmc. Finn is not too awful MMC considering his solid girl dad devotion but, he has the self reliance of a tadpole which is completely unsuited to his war hero past. I like Finn a hell of a lot more than Adele but still not enough to classify him as an MC. The story is a bit weak and wobbly. There isn't any indication in the posting, synopsis or book introduction to direct me to another book as a prequel and yet the entire story felt like there must be a set of books for Adele's brothers. I'm not interested enough to go looking since her brothers are misogynist trash. The town has all the small town vibes of an acid pit. The only 2 characters I fully loved are Merry and Alicia, who aren't really focal to this story. The storyline is mostly bickering and self delusions until the FMC becomes too horny to control herself (and even then there is a lot of arguing).

Book 2 starts with Cole being a doormat, when he should tell his oldest brother to figure things out on his own. Bizarrely, Gus went from being a relatively likeable brother (albeit one with daddy issues) to an aggressive jerk who deserves to be left to sink in his own failures. There isn't anything particularly special about Cole, either good or bad. Somehow Gus steals my attention in a wholly undesirable way for the first several chapters of Cole's book. Lila is a decent FMC from what I've seen so far but she has her own doormat vibes and not much personality beyond goody two-shoes energy. The biggest flaw in this book, which pushes me to walk away from the series, is the brothers being too oblivious for survival. Despite the main antagonist of book 1 being identified, they still have all their trust in the locals that are aggressively obviously suspects, regardless of how long they've been friends of the family or job titles. They deserve to be targeted by the antagonists for their sheer foolishness.

The moose perspective chapters are idiotic and useless. The humor is a bit mindless. The plotlines are too repetitive, making the pacing too slow. Unfortunately all of the flaws just stack up quickly and I cannot force myself into another 4+ books.

Herbert Brothers Box Set is fantastic. I’ve read all the books and my mini reviews are below. The addition Clive chapters and epilogue are phenomenal.

🪓 Wood Riddance
This series is so much fun! I love each of these books, the characters, the suspense, the love stories and the a-hole moose - Clive.

This enemies to lovers book is filled with so much amazing snark, banter, fabulous dialogue and laugh out loud moments. Also very sweet, thoughtful and tender moments that will make you swoon.

🪓 Caught in the Axe
Owen is a bit frosty, direct and business driven…he’s determine to be in town for a short time to get the family business taken care of.

Lila is a delightful ray of sunshine who loves hard and fiercely.

Owen and Lila have an undeniable attraction to one another, are sooo good for one another and give each other confidence to be vulnerable with one another. They will make you laugh, swoon and fan your face!

🪓 Pain in the Axe
You will be laughing, swooning and binge reading this book. Our favorite moose - Clive - makes an appearance and has his own surprise to share! Lol

Gus and Chloe have amazing banter, passion and end up being an amazing team. You will fall in love with these two and be entertained by the other characters in the story

🪓 Axe-dentally Married
Willa is a hard worker, a bit of a perfectionist , a self proclaimed good girl and determined to be a successful doctor. She doesn’t make bad decisions…until she does.

Cole is a bit lost, feels like an outcast demon his family and is trying to find his way. He’s a good man..just needs a chance to prove himself.

An unexpected event brings these two together….they are determined to make the best of it and prove to their families they are in love. Online now their romance blooms and they become each other confidants, cheerleaders and lovers. This is a bit of a slow burn and builds into a beautiful, passionate romance.

🪓 Axe Backwards
These two will melt your heart and have you binge reading this book. Noah and Vic are so fun…the banter, tension and a bit of enemies to start off with. But as they spend time together..they realize they have a alot in common, want to help one another and begin to let those feelings creep in.

They both have some baggage, things they need to work through…but they realize they are better together. Her grandma is the best…so freaking funny!!

🪓 Axe-ing for Trouble
This book has a bit more suspense/mystery/action- which I love - and these characters made me laugh my face off. Of course we see Clive in this story…I’m a big fan. Lol

Jude and Mila are a match made in heaven. I love how Mila is tough, determined and not afraid of a challenge. She is fiesty and speaks her mind. Jude is a good man and becomes an amazing protector! The banter, chemistry and love that grows between these two is fantastic!!

The Hebert Brothers Box Set by Daphne Elliot is the perfect collection for readers who love small-town romances, rugged lumberjacks, plenty of humor, and heartwarming happily-ever-afters. This box set includes Wood Riddance, Caught in the Axe, Pain in the Axe, Axe-identally Married, Axe Backwards, Axe-ing for Trouble, along with a delightful bonus Clive the Moose novella that longtime fans of the series won't want to miss. One of my favorite additions to this collection was the bonus content included with each book. The extra chapters give readers a chance to spend more time with the couples after their stories end, offering a glimpse into their happily-ever-afters and showing how their relationships continue to grow.

The standout bonus, however, is undoubtedly Clive's novella. Throughout the original series, Clive steals nearly every scene he's in with his hilarious antics and larger-than-life personality, so getting an entire story from his perspective was an unexpected treat. The novella follows Clive as he pursues the Marsh Queen, eventually welcoming their calf, Little Fern, into the world. Seeing Clive outside of his usual comedic appearances gives readers a completely different side of his character. While he's still as entertaining and mischievous as ever, the novella also highlights his softer, more protective nature. Watching him care for Little Fern and his mate is surprisingly touching. It was equally heartwarming to see the affection Clive has for the Hebert brothers and the women they've fallen in love with. Even through the eyes of a moose, it's clear that he considers them part of his own family.

One of the funniest parts of the novella is the nicknames Clive gives everyone. He refers to the brothers as Sky Beard, No Beard, Grumpy Beard, Friendly Beard, Carrying Beard, and Quiet Beard. The women receive equally charming names, including Tiny Flame (Chloe), Healing Female (Willa), Gentle Female (Victoria), and Broken Wing (Mila). These clever nicknames perfectly capture Clive's unique perspective and add even more humor to an already delightful story. At its heart, the Clive novella is a sweet, wholesome tale about family, loyalty, and finding your place in the world. It expands on a fan-favorite character while adding warmth, laughter, and plenty of memorable moments that make readers appreciate him even more.

I have to admit, I wasn't expecting a box set like this—featuring updated editions of these books, along with bonus scenes and extra stories about Clive 🫎 It was such a wonderful surprise! 🥰

I originally read both "The Maine Lumberjacks" series and the "Lovewell Lumberjacks" series (which includes Wood Riddance) back in 2024 and 2025, before I started my bookish journey. That means you won't find any reviews of these books on my page—until now. Thanks to this beautiful box set, I finally have the perfect excuse to revisit them 📚✨😍

This is a huge collection, featuring six full-length novels plus Clive's bonus stories, so it's definitely a big reading project. I've already finished Adele and Finn's story, and it reminded me exactly why I love Daphne Elliot's books so much 🫶🏻

Her stories have everything I look for: humor, incredible chemistry, enemies to lovers tension, suspense, small town charm, family secrets, layered characters, and so much emotion 🥹

Once I finish the entire box set, I'll be sharing my full thoughts—along with a separate review for each book 💚🫎🪵🪓📚

Holy Herberts!!

This book set is amazing, I am so glad I was able to read it as one full story, I loved all the growth, lumberjacks, and family that this story had. The Herbert brothers all damaged because of their father, found a way to heal and find love with some very strong women. The fact that all this started because of illegal stuff happening in their town, and every single one of these women play a HUGE role in bringing some of that organization down was epic. Those women are amazing in their own way.
But now let's go to Clive!! I love his antics but more than anything I love the names he has for all the brothers and the wives. Plus they are his herd now so he protects them. He might be a menace but he cares deeply for them and helped them in ways that were so heartwarming. I love Clive with his Marsh queen and his calves.

I loved getting to know all six brothers and the feisty women who helped them heal. Each book continues the thread of life after their corrupt father goes to jail. The danger that threatens the family culminates in the last book with Jude and Mila. Great character development of all the main characters. Also the small town community of quirky characters reads as a side character. Clive even grows more mature through each book. His mischief is so cute and how he names the people aka Pie Witch!! Clive’s musings of the humans he meets is on point. As you read through each book, the brothers begin to mend their relationship with each other after of years of estrangement. I would highly recommend this bundle. Now I want to visit Maine!

kindle: 3⭐️ i’m not even going to rate these books individually because 4/6 were re-reads and they’re all the same anyways (in a fun/good way, but also totally a three-star way)

overall:

- so many romance tropes (again, in a fun/good way but also totally a three-star way)

- the crime/murder/trafficking subplot is always sitting there just under the surface and sometimes decides to be relevant; not in a bad way but also not particularly well-executed imo (i’m sure i said it in some other review, but by trying to be both a romance and a thriller series i think these books did themselves a disservice. plus there’s NO way these should be read as standalones lol the author is crazy for saying that)

I finished these books last year but saw that Daphne wrote some chapters from Clive the Moose’s perspective and I couldn’t wait to read about his mischief from his POV! It did not disappoint. I loved seeing how he perceived each of the Hebert guys. The nicknames he had for each character was fantastic. The Pie Witch was my favorite! His thoughts about Owen 😂😂 and the relationship between Clive and Noah after he saved little Fern. My heart ❤️. The ending when he basically had a teenage daughter and twin toddler boys was the best🥰. He’s got his hooves full!!

Good Fun Read

This a six books in one bundle. Each story is in order and contexts the next story. The actual crime and solving it was really good. The romance relationships and spicy scenes were good. I did feel that the romances between the characters repeated several times in different stories. You had fake relationships in a few stories.

I had already read the Hebert Brothers. This time it was all about Clive - and boy, did he make it worth it. Seeing life from the forest in Maine, from his point of view, made it all worthwhile. Clive could have a book/novella all of his own - and he'd deserve it too! 🫎 💙

I enjoyed the Hebert Brothers Collection. Each one of these brothers and the struggles they went through caused by someone that was supposed to protect them and love them, the love that each one of them found with strong women.
