Witch's Lust
It all started with a woman.

Wow ! Ok, Great book!
Going as far back as the late 1800's, the Hex House has been home to generations of owners. After each disapearance, the house is shut down, waiting for new bodies.
We get hauntings, cults, devil worship, erotic paranormal encounters, blood, gore, generational bonding and so much more.
As this story is told in parts, we get perspective through each one. A loving couple who buys the home, a group of friends who stay there overnight, a loan witch who only wants to show others self love, and a church that stands by it all.
I could go on, but this one is 5/5

Never buy a house with a murder in its foundation. Seriously. Check Zillow AND the history books.
Witch’s Lust by Jim Ody is the kind of gothic horror that takes an old story of witchcraft, throws it into a haunted house, adds ghosts, desire, religious conflict, and then basically tells everyone:“Good luck with that.”
It all begins with Lottie Wollowes, a woman practicing sexual healing with the women of her village until accusations of witchcraft lead to her cottage being burned to the ground But apparently burning the house down wasn’t enough. The house remembers And that is where things get seriously creepy. As the years pass and the cottage is replaced, the property continues to carry something dark with it. People who enter become plagued by strange desires, suspicion, and an increasingly uncomfortable relationship with the local church. Which brings us to William, a local priest, and Raven a pagan witch who happens to be his lover Because apparently forbidden romance wasn’t enough. Let’s throw a haunted house and an ancient evil into the relationship too. 😂
I really enjoyed the way the story plays with the tension between faith and paganism, desire and repression, love and fear. There’s something wonderfully gothic about a house that seems to hold onto the sins of the people who came before it. The supernatural elements give the story a dark, unsettling atmosphere, while the conflict between William and Raven adds another layer to the horror. They’re forced to put their differences aside and confront something that doesn’t care what either of them believes.
And honestly? A priest and a pagan witch teaming up against an evil haunting is exactly the kind of dysfunctional horror team up I didn’t know I needed.

My favorite part of this kind of story is watching characters discover that the history they’ve been warned about isn’t just history. Sometimes the past isn’t finished with you And in this case, the foundation is apparently built on enough blood to keep the nightmare going.

Would I enter this house? Absolutely not.
Would I investigate it anyway? Unfortunately, yes. 😂
Would I trust the foundation? NEVER.
Would I recommend this to gothic/witchy horror readers? Hell yes.

I really wanted to like this one.
The premise had me. A house with a dark history, witchcraft, religion, sex, and something supernatural lurking underneath it all. Absolutely my thing. The opening had me intrigued too, and there were enough little breadcrumbs being dropped that i wanted to see how everything eventually connected.
Unfortuatly, somewhere in the middle, it lost me.
The book is essentially made up of different stories across different periods, all connected by the house and the wider story of Lottie. once i realised that was what it was doing, i actually found it easier to read. I liked the idea of little seeds being planted in one part that would form into something later. For me though, the execution didn't quite land. The POV and character switches could be very sudden, the writing sometimes felt choppy because of it, and a lot of the middle felt more like filler than progression.
There was also a lot of sex. now, considering the books i normally read, thats hardly going to send me running for the holy water. But while the sexual content was very much at the forefront, i kept waiting for the horror to match it.
There are murders, blood, supernatural elements and some fairly grim moments, but i never really felt the horror to match it.
One thing i genuinely loved was the characters themselves. These aren't physically perfect people who apparently spend six hours a day in the gym. They're older, their bodies are normal, they have flaws, and they're still allowed to have relationships, sex and desires. It felt refreshingly human and was probably one of my favourite things about the book.
The final section picked things up, and i liked where the story was heading with William and the suggestion that he deals with supernatural things the church would rather keep quiet. I just wanted more out of it. After everything that had been building, the final confrontation and exorcism felt surprisingly quick.
It felt like the book was preparing to end with a bang, but for me it went out with more of a squeak.
Even though at times it was a struggle i'm glad i did finish it because there were ideas here that i genuinely liked, but overall the pacing and execution just didn't work for me.

It’s 1826 and Lotte Wollowes uses alternative medicine to help the locals heal their physical and mental issues. Her nearest neighbour is the church, and the vicar and his congregation believe she is flouting her body in blasphemous ways and they take offence to her un-Godly profession. Branded a witch, they rid their village of Lottie for once and for all… or so they think.
Decades later, Peter and Mary move into a new home on the same land and an almost mirror image feud begins between the same adjoining church and Mary, who happens to have a private business relieving clients of stress, pain, and worry. However, something in that house, the foundations, the very soil it’s built on, calls out to Mary. Slowly, Mary’s sessions become more intimate as the Witch’s Lust takes hold.
This story involves religion vs evil. Faith vs Paganism. It is a small town horror filled with sex, rape, possession, ghosts, and murder. It is a unique take on a haunted house story, which has some complicated characters throughout. I particularly liked the character, Raven, and I hear she’s due to appear in a follow-up to this one.
For me, however, I found some of the intense smut to be more of a shock factor and didn’t always lend to the flow of the story and, personally, I would have preferred more horror over smut. Mind you, if you do enjoy a bit of smut, you’re going to love this.

I have sat with my thoughts on this book, since yesterday; I'm still not sure how I feel!!
I was drawn in at the beginning, with a tale of a persecuted woman 'Lottie', set in the 1800's. A woman who dared to go against the grain. Helping the women folk, connect with their desires, desires their husbands could not fulfill!
The village branded her a witch and Godless, burning her house down... with her inside it!
The story continues, when in present day, a couple move into their dream home; on the land that was once Lotties. Very much in love, and devoted to one another.
Their chemistry is off the charts!
They keep themselves to themselves, something the local vicar, and villagers take umbridge to. Hints of something nefarious happening, starts to creep in.
Then with a 'bang', the first part ends. Fast forward 10 years!! The house is in disrepair, and a group of young adults, decide go there and party.
So, I did enjoy the first part, and thought it was building up to a 4 star read. The abrupt ending of the first part, threw me for a loop. Different characters introduced, and so on. I kind of lost interest. I found it to be disjointed. . Also, if I have to read about a women's boobs (saggy or otherwise) again, I might literally go insane!
I also have to mention that there was a derogatory disability slur in the book; I just don't think that is needed!

When a house has evil things take place inside, I do believe it can be haunted. Now whether it is the house or by the spirits left with things unfinished; I guess that depends on who one speaks to. This book shared a story of the possibility that both scenarios are true. The period in our history that is horrible is the time when women were persecuted for being witches. Sometimes the woman just believed in other approaches than religion but she was tortured for being a witch. All Lottie wanted was to bring about love and awareness of self. Men did not want women to think for themselves so the men labeled Lottie a witch. I always wonder if other women stood up for Lottie or were they afraid they too would be deemed a witch. The book gives a very thought provoking idea as one reads the book. As more people are murdered for ‘different’ thinking is that why other atrocities were practiced or was one story created to cover up a worse happenings. I had so much empathy towards the characters that were wronged in the story. Plus the people of the town only made people feel less like becoming part of the community. The outcomes for the characters in the story was awful since they did nothing wrong. The added bonus that this might be the start to a new series is very exciting.

This has easily been my favourite IndieTron read so far!
One of the things I loved most was the structure. It felt like four interconnected stories, all centred around the same house, which kept everything fresh while slowly building the bigger picture.
The horror? 👌
The smut? 👌
It was the perfect mix.
I finished this in one sitting because I genuinely couldn't put it down. For a 300-page book, it never felt long or dragged out. The pacing was spot on, and I stayed completely engaged from beginning to end.
Overall, this was an absolute banger, and I'll definitely be picking up book two.

It’s a great story line that gives a past, present and future to unravel all the history of the church, the innocence they take from curious young adults who are told to show the vicar the sins they so desire, the church’s secret cult, the power of the hex house, lovers and their desires, blackmailed residents, missing young girls, violence against town residents who don’t submit, and the witch who teaches woman how to enjoy themselves.

Witchy, Hex House, paganism, religion, possession, hauntings, secret passageways & Erotic Horror...... Count me in!!!
I fully enjoyed this book, it's definitely one of those spooky stories you could tell friends over a campfire! The house, the small town, the weirdness, the witch!
Spice on point, creepiness on point! Loved It! Also the 'I wasn't expecting that to happen' moments- lots of those going on when I was reading!
'Witch's Lust' is well written by the Author, the chapters flow well and although we meet new characters I didn't find it hard to remember them all, unlike past books I've read.
If you like spice with your horror - this comes HIGHLY recommended!

When I was thirteen I was allowed to stay up and watch the Hammer House of Horror episode, Witching Time. Well, I didn’t see all the episode, as soon as the wonderful actress (Patricia Quinn) playing the part of the Witch Lucinda Jessop, dropped her robe to reveal wondrous charms, the TV was quickly turned off and I was sent to bed. However, the die had been cast. For the first time I’d seen a Witch that wasn’t just a wizened old crone.
Fast forward a couple of years and I was entrenched in the world of heavy metal and my Methodist faith was on the wane.
Lucinda Jessop had been etched on my mind so when Myself and some friends heard tales of Covens, orgies and naked Witches flaunting themselves in the county we lived in, we desperately went on a quest to find out where this nakedness was occurring.
So, seeing the tremendous cover for Witch’s Lust my interest was obviously peaked. The promise of Pagan and Christian faiths clashing mirrored my own personal battle and of course the promise of spice only added to my intrigue.
And Cor, blimey! is this book spicy. Clothes are like lava to nearly every character. I did wonder if the constant beast with two backs would detract from the story but it only enhanced important elements of it.
To begin with,Witch’s Lust could easily have been a grainy, 80’s TV episode of Hammer House of Horror. The liberal couple moving to a village, upsetting the local dignitaries and clergy. A ‘Presence’ in their new home that could be the ghost of Lottie Wollowes. A healer accused of witchcraft and ‘got rid of’ a century before . I honestly thought this was going to be the most straight forward of Jim Ody’s novels that I’ve read but no, at around page 150, I had my first WTF! moment.
There’s a couple more ‘rug pulls’ before we get to the forth act. This for me, is why I enjoy the authors writing so much. The humour, character interplay and fast paced narrative all evident in this forth act.
Occasionally, having tinnitus is a blessing. I’ll have music on in the background whilst reading (usually a soundtrack) but for the ending of this book I was listening to Kiki Rockwell’s Eldest Daughter of an Eldest daughter and the two paired brilliantly. The pounding rhythms of the music complimenting the joining of religions in a battle against evil, bringing the whole story to a very satisfying, fulfilling climax.
It all leads to a sequel, which has gone straight to the top of my most anticipated reads. Move over Lucinda Jessop, Lottie wollowes is my new favourite erotic Witch.

This one was a slow burn paranormal story that once I understood what was going I devoured it. This is my first time reading work of this author and I’m definitely interested in checking out their other work!
This one was a slow burn paranormal story that once I understood what was going I devoured it. This is my first time reading work of this author and I’m definitely interested in checking out their other work!

I really enjoyed this book. You got a little bit of everything in here. Cults, gore, witches, sex, haunted houses, possessions, erotic horror.
I didn’t love some of the verbiage that was used about women’s bodies in here, all in all i thought it as a good read and will be definitely reading the two book in this series.

Sex. Murder. Religious dogma. Possession. Ghosts. Brilliant. Loved this book.
The writing was simple yet effective. The book flowed great and it captured my attention immediately. The characters were fully developed and I really got a good idea of who they were and what they felt.
Can't wait for the next book to come out. If your not shy about your sexual desires, pick up this book. It's brilliant.

Witchcraft, paganism, Christianity, religious persecution and a haunted house all combine together to create a horror story unlike any I’ve read before.
3 separate storylines all converge and tie together by the end, with history showing to repeat itself throughout the history of the land that the current house is built on.

When I heard about this spicy witch book, I knew I had to read it. Was I prepared for the amount of spice? No. No I wasn't. But it was a heck of a read.
The story is split over several parts, each one seemingly seperate but tied together by the original witch, Lottie, who meets a sad end due to the lack of understanding of her medicinal ways back in the early 1800s mainly thanks to the church that Lottie lives nearby.
Time passes but the house and church remain over the years. Lottie's house is largely uninhabited for the most part, the only people moving into it leaving shortly after. This is where we are introduced to Peter and Mary, a couple in their early forties who have moved in after successful careers and chose a quiet place to spend the rest of their years. This couple have a healthy sex life as it is but after moving in, things begin to really get spicy for a reason they don't understand.
I won't spoil what happens but you should definitely read this book to find out more.
At it's heart, its a battle between two clashing beliefs, the church and an ideal they don't understand and fear and its portrayed really well. The spice factor is a lot but there is a good balance between horror and story and the spice is necessary for where the story goes.
This is a series starter and I, for one, cannot wait for the next book!

What a fantastic "ride".
Witch's Lust is full of spice, horror and witches.
I absolutely loved how this story evolved and played out.
The characters were fantastic... And the spice... WAS SPICING!! 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶
And to have my name in the acknowledgements at the end was lovely 🖤🖤
This house seems to make its occupiers... get in the mood shall we say. But the community around them is not so inviting of tenants or visitors of the house and what they do inside... Or in the garden!
With strange goings on, who knows what or who is really causing the strange surge of sex drives and Lust in this property.
If you've not read this one yet and you love a bit of spice in your horror, this is a must read!!!

Ok so this was a whole lot spicier than I was expecting. But the horror to spice ratio worked well for this story. I really enjoyed how the story ran over decades which gave it more depth. I wasn't sure if this was for me when I started as I'm not really into erotic horror. This book may have changed my views on this opinion. I ended up really enjoying this.

If you think you've read every type of horror story out there, think again. Witch's Lust is unlike anything I've picked up before. A haunted house story mixed with folk horror, dark humour and plenty of spice shouldn't work as well as it does... but somehow Jim makes it feel completely natural.
From the very beginning, the story pulls you into its eerie little village with the creepy small-town atmosphere Jim does so well. There's mystery, bloodshed, supernatural horror and twists throughout, but underneath it all is a story about belief, power and the scars left by the past.
It all begins with Lottie Wollowes, and although her story is brief, her presence lingers over every page that follows.
I'll admit, I'm not usually a fan of spicy books, so I wasn't entirely sure how I'd get on with this one. But I'm a huge fan of Jim's writing, so I knew I'd have to read it. I trusted that he'd make it work - I just wasn't sure how. Somehow, he found the perfect balance. Something I never doubted. The spice never felt like it was there simply for shock value; it became an essential part of the story. It was sexy in all the right ways, woven naturally into the plot, and made for one of the most original horror novels I've read. The book started out BEAUTIFULLY. I would have rated it fives stars. Lottie is a witch who was condemned by her town. She haunts a loving couple influencing their lust and feeding off the energy. The relationship between Mary and Peter is absolutely fantastic. Jim Ody does an amazing job of allowing the reader to feel the love, devotion, and absolute adoration between this couple. The sex is a sensual affair to be admired. During the first half of the book, small hints are given as to the back story and evil that resides within the town. The underlying theme of good vs evil and debates among religion and how fanatics can cause more harm than good is well portrayed. I absolutely LOVED the first half of the book.
Then...it all went down hill. It seems the storyline took a turn that didn't make sense or coincide with the first half of the book. Lottie was a good spirit spreading lust and feeding off the energy. Then she was a malevolent spirit possessed with evil? The characters were being possessed? What was the ritual for? What's with the damn fox? This storyline had soooo much potential, but got completely convoluted.
I do like Billie and Raven and would love to follow them on their evil spirit banishing adventures. The marriage of Christianity and Paganism working side by side in a lovely couple bantering was a nice addition.

First of all, remarkable writing skills by the author. As well as what you’d expect from Horrors, you also have comical moments throughout the book. There were a few times I was caught chuckling out loud to this story.
On the horror side, there’s plenty of it running through this read.
We start in 1826 with Lottie, a woman deemed as a witch by the folk of the town for her proclivities. The townsfolk decide to take action against Lottie… jump to the future and we now follow the story of the land since 1826 & those residing on and around it.
This is also an erotica element to the story, and so well done. The moments are sensual but not over the top at times, each moment makes sense and it plays fully into the plot and not just some nonsensical erotica.
I was latched onto this read straight from the first chapter and found myself devouring as much as I could in my spare time. Well worth it too because Jim’s now got a new regular reader!
Would I recommend Witch’s Lust?

Witches lust was a really great story woven in Jim’s brilliant way, it delves into the past, present, ghosts, satanic rituals, paganism, religion and some very explicit scenes, which means although this book won’t be for everyone, those with an open mind and who aren’t easily offended will love the twists and turns and back story of Lottie, a healer persecuted for helping others, Keith a very unpleasant priest who has lost his way, Mary and Peter who end up living on what was Lottie’s land and the town who still is as prejudiced as it always was.
I love Jim’s writing style and really enjoyed this one every bit as much as I knew I would.

I'm quite torn on this one - I love the setup, and the different stories intertwining is great. I love the religious theme, and the witchyness, but the book had a bit too much repeating spice (or talking about it, or thinking about it..) for my liking.
But it feels like the book could do with another round of editing, as the poor editing and information being repeated multiple pages in a row makes it a frustrating read. Also, how many times can you possible mention different womens sagging boobs in one book?
I don't know. I enjoyed the read, but I felt that it had potential to be so much more.

This book was everything I expected it to be. I was glad to see there will be a book two and I cannot wait. The story takes place over several generations. Each involving the same house and the same church. Its like a mix of cult, sex, Horror and haunted all in one if I'm being honest. So many pieces come into play in this book. At one point I was even sad for the characters and what happens to them. I don't want to give away the story but I absolutely loved it and do recommend you read it. Just be prepared for sexual and bloody scenes.

To the Hex House we shall go. Where it feeds off of blood and lust. As people keep disappearing. The church calls upon Billy and Raven to end the evil once and for all.
This was an easy fast paced read. I read it all in one day. The book has four parts to it but is in a linear timeline.This is the first book of The Witch series.
The book is full of smut and religious intolerance so read at your own risk.

Witch's lust was one I went head first into not knowing anything about. I did find it had a lot of church/religion in it but its definitely needed for the story. This book was wild and I didnt know what to expect with each part. Between Lottie,Mary,Peter and all the others I thought it would go on forever. That dirty old vicar can go somewhere else. I was surprised to find out there will be a book 2 that im ready to read.

If you enjoy reading about gratuitous sex then you may enjoy this. Every single chapter had descriptive sex scenes or discussions about sex making me want to DNF, but I was curious if it could actually continue through out the whole book. Spoiler: it did. There were only about 2 out of 45 chapters that weren't explicit. Be forewarned if that's not for you.
