This one was hilarious! And featured my most favourite kind of heroine: the feisty kind. We have a committment shy cop and an ex-cop turned real estate agent coming together and a matchmaking father and cousins who just love to play pranks. And let us not forget the people doing home robberies. This one was a fun read and I loved how the hero was so stupid to not see that the heroine's cousins were putting him on making the heroine sound like some feeble person.

This is a strange book with strange protagonists. Jessica, the heroine, is never without the word "pure" to her and the hero's stomach is constantly rumbling. It rumbled at least 3 times in three chapters and Jessica is said to be "pure as driven snow" also at least three times. At other times, she is just said to be "pure".

I enjoyed Kelley's Close Encounters of the Sexy Kind (2007) but the next book, Cosmic Sex (2008), was already getting repetitive and 'been-there-done-that. I had enough of the Planet Nerak by then and did not buy the 3rd book. Temperature's Rising was released in 2005 so it wasn't that long ago and it's strange that it came across so amateurish.

~3.5/5

After reading Kelley’s alien romance, I wanted to read more, because it was so much fun. For some reason, this was the only one of hers I could find, so I picked it up. I was a little hesitant, but I shouldn’t have been.

Once I started, it went by very fast, and was so much fun.

Conor was a little frustrating at times, but I liked him, and the chemistry between him and Jessica was very nice. I liked both of them a lot, and their story was a lot of fun. Jessica’s family was a lot of fun, really. Kelley has a nice humor, and the sexual tension was nicely done; the serious plotline wasn’t too bad, either, and it worked out pretty nicely.

I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would, and again hope to pick up another of Kelley’s novels. She’s turning out to be a rather enjoyable author.

Funny! Very light, humorous reading. There are a couple of places - especially in the beginning - where Conor is a bit too clueless, which makes you wonder what she sees in him. And since it is a light read, the real sex scenes were a tad jarring. But I liked it overall, looking forward to reading more of her.

Very light but fun read
3 stars

Jessica Nelson comes from a family of cops and she's really had enough being one of the guys. But new cop on the block Conor Richmond sees her as all woman when he mistakes her for a prostitute and arrests her!

Their relationship gets worse when they are forced by Jessica's matchmaking police chief dad to pose as an undercover newlywed couple to catch a serial burglary gang. Jessica doesn't want to get involved with another cop but she finds that playing house with the gorgeous Conor is too much of a temptation to resist. And soon the pair must fight both the bad guys and their growing feelings for each other.

This book is essentially a very light read. Jessica and Conor are both fun characters and they are likeable too which means you do become interested in their story. They have the chemistry you would expect from a Brava novel and it is quite a hot read in places - also as you would expect. The secondary characters are colourful and fun and add a little extra to the story.

My main issue with this book was that the plot, despite being fun and interesting, was fairly light in some places and the whole book didn't really ever get into high gear. And despite being a fun, frothy read - it just seemed to be missing that essential spark that would have made it a really good story.

Having said that - this really isn't a bad book and would be perfect for an afternoon in the sun if you're looking for a light, fun, sexy read.

I think this can be a good book. I just wasn't in the mood to finish it. It's very sexy. Two cops fall in love but the sex starts off pretty early and I have no idea how it ends. I looked up the writer and she doesn't really meet the genre for me. Another time I might try to re read it.

Sassy and steamy

Cop mistakenly arrests the daughter of the police chief...she’s an ex-cop herself and sparks fly...humor, romance and a little suspense...the best kind of book :-)

Oh my, the first few chapters had me nearly rolling on the floor! It kind of flattened out after that (well, at least compared to those beginning chapters) but was still funny. This is my first book by this author and I can't wait to read her others. Why not a 5 star for this book? The heroine became just a little annoying at her waffling all over the place about being a cop--other than that, I loved her.

Jessica's an ex-cop who wants to get away from the cop lifestyle, she's lived her whole life with her family. Her father is the chief and he sets her up on a surveillance op with a new detective after he mistakenly arrests her for solicitation. True to form, they solve the case and fall in love.

WOW! That's pretty much all I can say. It was a very, very, very good book, haha. This book was very juicy, I certainly enjoyed it. I love romance books, and this one sure had some romance in it.
