I am a Reader in the Philosophy of Religion, teaching courses on Islam, Nietzsche, Greek philosophy, and philosophy of religion. I am particularly interested in the interaction between western philosophy and the religious claims made by Islam, which align with my view that philosophy and religion are intertwined.

One of the worst books I've ever read

I am embarrassed to admit that I read this "book". Why even write something like this if one can find more information on the topic in an elementary-school-level history textbook?

ROME : Ancient Rome: Roman History and The Roman Empire (Rise and Fall, Roman Military, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, Ancient History) by Roy Jackson... A concise account of the Roman History, a ready reckoner for history lovers. Short but precise on names and events...

For readers looking for the shortest account of Roman history to date, this is the book for you.
This book reads like a high school senior's thesis paper. It skips along through Roman history, and leaves out details that although minute, are very important to Rome's history.
Also this book was clearly never read by a decent editor due to the immense number of simple grammar mistakes throughout the 25 page pamphlet.

Proofreaders can be valuable.

This book could be much more authoritative, if not for the factual, spelling and grammar errors. Like saying that seven emperors ruled for 2000 years. (Meaning 200 years.) Quick-changes of tense within the same paragraph. The author may know his history, but reading like a high-school term paper clouds the issue.

I'm glad it was free.
