Luke Remington has spent his entire life at Remington Ridge.
The ranch shaped him. The people who call it home shaped him. The lessons passed down through generations taught him what matters faith, family, hard work, and loving the people God places in your life.
Now, at nineteen, Luke finds himself standing at the edge of everything he has ever wanted—and everything he fears losing.
As Remington Ridge enters a new season, Luke begins to understand that legacy is about far more than land and fences. It is found in the traditions worth preserving, the people worth fighting for, and the choices that shape the generations still to come.
While Garrett and Casey settle into married life and Mrs. Remington quietly prepares the next generation to carry on what she and her husband built, Luke faces questions that cannot be postponed forever. Questions about the future. About love. About the life he hopes to build on the land he has always called home.
As old chapters draw to a close and new ones begin, Luke discovers that time is a gift, family is a blessing, and some legacies are measured not by what you leave behind—but by who carries them forward.
Heartfelt, hopeful, and deeply moving, Luke's Legacy is a story about first love, family roots, and the enduring power of home.
“Luke’s Legacy” by Lily Mae Winslow is book 4 in the standalone but very connected series of Remington Ridge. I encourage you to read this series in order. Each are absolutely a standalone read, but like family, each of their stories are intwined around each other. This series is of faith, family, legacy and love. The promise that you live on in the hearts and memories of those you love. And the family Christmas tree, where everyone put their ornament on and stay, evoking sweet memories of loved ones each year. Boone even has one. The journals of Luke and recordings of Beau are still going with eleven journals. Filled with history of the ranch, its people and truths, if a person happened to look. Which Luke does and finds his realization in Emma Grace. Self sacrifice is major in this story. It’s of Luke, Garrett’s boy and Emma Grace, Tom and Diane Wilder’s girl. Who in loving each other are willing to let one of them go to fly free at a dream in Charleston, and see if love holds. Beautiful, sometimes complicated relationships between fathers and sons show. And a new highs for Beau and Willa. This story has humor and learning spot. But also a great loss. Garrett’s own past with Caroline comes back to haunt him with his son Luke and what life throws at him. And the decision Luke makes in regard to that choice. Emma Grace knew she wanted something of Luke since a child. But never knew what that was as a child. Then she did and ignored it till she couldn’t. Luke journals over eleven years had photo’s with her in every single one. And one day he looked at them and realized what she meant to him. The story line is amazing and the characters written believably. All loved character in prior books are here. Luke’s Ride and the Veterans Program, Freedom Ridge, Savannah’s program, the school, the chicken coop, and saffron fields are still going strong. And a new ones added in this story. The long table that originally sat 6, now seats 22. Having been extended several times over the years. An amazingly written story that grabs your interest and keeps it. Multiple viewpoints from different characters. A book I would rate a 5+⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.
5/5 I absolutely love this series and this family. I would recommend reading the previous books in the series first though as it will make a lot more sense with the back stories. However reading them is well worth your time if you love beautiful, honest, wholesome, traditional small town families. At Remington Ridge everyone is welcome and everyone has a place just as they are. This story specifically is a wonderful representation of a grandson who is extremely close with his grandparents and trusts them with his whole heart. Also a family filled with patience, kindness and love as examples to lead by. Words are not spoken in haste or anger, they are thought out and sat with until they are ready. I can’t wait for the next book in this series and I already know I won’t be ready for it to be over.
