Olivia Graham has spent her life longing for a clue to where she comes from. So when a mysterious woman named Mrs. Woodley offers her a job—and somehow asks for her by name—Olivia dares to hope that the Archer House holds the answers.
Nestled in the shadow of the Colorado Rockies in 1961, Archer’s Grove is a town with a thousand secrets and a past that refuses to stay buried. Olivia is about to learn that some doors are better left shut… and some secrets are better left in their graves.
A fantastic and haunting read that keeps you on the edge of your seat! I cannot wait to read more about Archer’s Grove in the future. The narrative spins an unsettling tale in a town and home that feels much like Dark Shadows and Collinwood in the same vein of spooky and supernatural. Ollie is such a likable lead, nervous and out of place, yet endearing the more you get to know her through the story. While there are those in the Archer family and friends you easily grow attached to, there are those that lurk in the shadows of the plot leaving you nervous for what they may be up to. This is a perfect late night read to give yourself a little fright as you weave your way into the bizarre and creepy world of Archer’s Grove and the haunting secrets it seems to be hiding.
Fantastic weekend read. She left just enough breadcrumbs to keep you wanting more. My mind is still piecing things together, and I can't wait for book 2.
I don’t usually enjoy books set in the 60’s, but this one … oh yeah. Definitely has Dark Shadows vibes (so far no vampires) lots of spooky unexplainable things. Can’t wait for that next episode.
