This is part 2 of this great series

Here we find that Carmela is forced to go out with her intended mate after having barely escaped with her life from the Cazadores These humans are hell bent on ridding society of what they call nocturnes. (supernaturals) Carmela's father doesn't care he is a very domineering and cruel man and all he can think of is securing a high position by having his daughter mated to an Alpha. But Carmela finds herself attracted to both Alpha and Vampire is this possible?

Brendan is the future Alpha of Alphas who finds that he is attracted very much to the lovely latin beauty he is supposed to mate, but he also senses that there is something troubling Carmela.

I can't wait to read part 3 and see what awaits Carmela, Alpha and Vampire?

I enjoy reading Sarah Makela books and this is another series the she has written that didn't disappoint. Beneath The Broken Moon Part Two is a shifter/vampire romance series that I enjoy reading. There is something in it for the shifter and the Vampires lover this is a great book! If you love fantasy, magic, adventure, social, political and family conflict, action, paranormal beings, romance and angst, then this is definitely the book for you! The storyline is a exciting, dark paranormal that is so imaginative, compelling and well written. The characters are fabulous, engaging, fascinating, captivating and intriguing. Sarah Makela is brilliant when it comes to story telling of fantasy and fiction. I was captivated from the beginning to the end.

The story starts were Part One leaves off. Werewolves are now almost extinct and delicacy food sources for vampires. Carmela Santiago lives with a abusive, manipulative father who to him Carmela only value is her ability to be mated to an alpha werewolf. So her father arranged a marriage with stranger. Carmela's future is to become an Alpha Queen and spend her life producing pups so as to replenish werewolf species. Derek Ashmore the vampire who saved the beautiful young werewolf who he can't stop thinking about. Derek is a member of the Vampire High Council, he still believes that nocturnes would soon become extinct if they did unite and present a united front to the government and to the Cazador. It was smart thinking and necessary for their species and if he could get the others to see it his way. But he has doubts hisself because he isn't sure it's not because he is attracted to the irresistible young werewolf Carmela? He finds her so beautiful but young and He's an ancient and a member of the High Council and he can't afford to have such thoughts. Plus the fact she even told him that she was to be mated to another werewolf in a prearranged agreement by her father. Derek isn't sure he can trust her but he has to trust her not tell anyone about him helping her. When Derek and his friend Elliot Quinn, another council member, encounter Carmela and Brendan Kelly her future mate. They had been injured and were being chased by the Cazador. Brendan Kelly father is Neal Kelly, the Alpha of Alphas. When Brandon first meet Carmela Santiago he knows immediately she is his mate. He and his wolf are immediately attracted to the beautiful young woman and will stop at nothing to have her. Brandon suspects Carmela father is mistreating her and he wants to protect her but knows he must gain her trust first. Then he noticed Carmela knows much more about the vampire than she's telling especially after seeing her with the strange vampire who helped them escape the Cazador. Brandon is determined to protect her even from her father and he dislikes that the vampire that seems familiar with Carmela. Is it possible that Brendan and Derek are mates of Carmela? Carmela feels she could be in love with Brandon and Derek. OMG! I love that there is a handsome sexy vampire and a handsome alpha wolf! This is the kind of series I love danger, mystery, action, suspense, and evil everywhere! This is a series that just gets better and better. Oooooh I'm so excited to read book three WOW!

"A Fantastic story!"
In book one we met Carmela a spunky she-wolf who is what is known as a breeder. Carmela does not want a mate just because she is a breeder , but she wants true love. Brandon is her chosen mate he is a Wolf shifter to. Derek is a Vampire who saved Carmela in book one. Derek wants Carmela only wolf and Vampires are suppose to be enemies, and Carmela is promised to Brandon. Carmela finds her self struggling between a sexy Vampire and a Sweet sexy Male wolf lol. Derek finds someone after him and other Vampires are being killed, and by of all things another Vampire. While he is at a council meeting Brandon and Carmela are on a date when a group of hunters called the Cazador's show up chasing a Young Vampire and spot Carmela they recognize her and give chase. Brandon and Carmela get hurt. Derek's meeting breaks up and he and his friend Elliot see what is happening to to the young couple and help them. Brandon notices something odd between Carmela and Derek only he is to hurt to ask about it. The Vampires take Carmela and Brandon to his home. Carmela's parents come and take her home but not before her Father empresses her. When They get home her Father gets drunk and tries to sexually attack her! Can Carmela get away from her Father?. Who will Carmela choose? This is an amazing book with suspense,action, Hot Romance!. It will keep you glued to the pages!

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!

The cover is awesome :) Everything just works together and grabs my attention :)

Okay this is part two of the serial novella series Broken. From what I can tell with the violence, I would recommend adults only. I’m not sure how many parts this serial will have has it is not complete at this time, and I haven’t found any where it says how many parts there will be. If you do not like cliffhangers, you might want to wait until the serial is completed.

Okay in this part, we get a much better feel for Brendan, and I really like him. Carmela is still awesome, and not sure about either guy. Her dad is someone I despise and think should be hurt. And of course I still really like Derek. I think this part was even better than the first.

Sarah’s writing is easy to love, you get pulled right into the story and can picture everything happening. She is also keeps the story hopping with everything that is happening…lots of action :)

I highly recommend this series to vampire and shifter lovers alike :) I can’t wait for payday because I need book 3 which just came out :)

Carmella’s date with Brendan ends in disaster in this thrilling installment of the Beneath the Broken Moon serial.

The more Carmella gets to know Brendan and Derek, the more conflicted she becomes and the reader can’t help but get caught up in all the excitement as Brendan, Carmela and Derek’s lives all continue to collide. The chemistry between Carmella and each man smolder with intense heat from every page but this causes quite the emotional quandary for Carmela as these strong compelling characters continue to demand reader’s attention while the fast paced, smooth flowing plot thrills readers with lots of suspense, excitement and romance. Well written scenes bring the story to life while the intriguing events guarantee that the readers come back for more and the tension filled excitement keeps readers on the edge of their seat as the danger from the Cardoza and this post-apocalyptic world continue to escalate…especially for the threesome.

So far, this intriguing futuristic world has me enthralled and I can’t wait to find out what happens next, especially after that spine tingling cliffhanger.

Trouble comes from all angles
Carmela goes on a date with her future arranged mate Brendan, and all goes well until the Cazador show up chasing another Vampire. Derek goes to a council meeting and his friend Elliot and him end up talking to Lord Prescott after. Derek tells of his run in and attempt on his life. While the Cazador finish off the one Vampire, Derek and Elliot come into their sites. Then Brandon and Carmela do as well and both of them get hurt. But the two Vampires help and then bring them to Brendan’s home. Well Carmela’s father shows up thing go from bad to worst. And she still has to go back home with him until she is mated, that is if that is still even going to happen. Well written and very exciting and very entertaining to read. Looking forward to the next book.

Oh man this just keep getting better but for poor Carmela when it rain it pour she trying to enjoy her time out with Alpha wolf Brendan but at the same time she still thinking about Derek it's already bad enough She feels intimidated by Brendan. She doesn't know if she can fully trust him but also pissed that she's in this obligated mating in the first place all she want is to be with someone she love and to make matters worse they get attacked by the Cazador. While on the run she stumbled upon Derek who end up helping him she's so caught up in the moment with Derek not realizing that she making thing awkward between her Brendan. I know it end on a cliffhanger but things are starting to get really good and I can't wait to see what going to happen next.

In a post-apoplectic world where vampires and shapeshifters are hunted by humans, two young werewolves are saved by vampires, enemies of their people.I loved this book!

Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. Derek had to be at the high council meeting, even through he had a few other things on his mind namely Carmela and the witches that broken into his home.
The date with Brendan, was one Carmela couldn't decide if it was good or bad. Was he just acting nice to get her before he turned into a brut like her father is. The theater was a wonderful treat followed by the best steak she had in a long time or ever.
Brendan was trying to get her home when the human thug crew Cazador's was upon them. Two vampires offer to help them, Carmela is hurt again and Brendan was shot in the leg. What will happen when Brendan finds out that Carmela and Derek no each other prior to this rescue? How will the two males feel about the other being near the one woman the both seemed to want. Now Derek has involved Elliot in this mess, can they trust Elliot with all this not to turn them all over to the council. Carmela know she had to get away from her abusive father but turning to Derek? Would he help her or send her packing elsewhere. Warning there is a scene in this book that may be a trigger affect to some. But so far I am loving this series.

Beneath The Broken Moon is a brand new shifter/vampire romance series from Sarah Makela and it totally rocks. It has a little bit of everything I love in a great book! If you love fantasy, magic, adventure, social, political and family conflict, action, paranormal beings, romance and angst, then this is definitely the book for you! Please be aware, this is Part Two of a series, not a stand alone story, so there is a cliffhanger. The story is dark, exciting, original, imaginative, deeply compelling and very well written. The characters are fascinating, captivating, intriguing and engaging. Makela expertly combines these elements into a brilliantly imaginative work of paranormal romantic fiction and fantasy. And this is only the beginning! The story takes place in a somewhat dystopian future world shattered by a nuclear event on the moon causing the near destruction of the human race. The remaining humans are now aware of the nocturnes and seeing them as a threat, seek to kill or capture them. What better way for a government or the rich to thrive than by oppressing the less fortunate and simultaneously keep down the population. Omg, omg, omg!!! So much happens in this book, its crazy!!! The stuff that happens to Carmela makes me so sad that I want to hug her!!! I love her chemistry with Brendan, but I also love her chemistry with Derek. Both men are good for her in a way that I love, though Derek is a threat due to the feud. But, this series is absolutely amazing and I can't wait to read the next book!!

WHOA!! I cannot wait for the rest of this story! It is so PAWESOMELY FANGTASTIC!! I was shocked at the events taking place in this part! Sarah has definitely outdone herself...again! I am enjoying all of the elements to this story. The romance, humor, vampires, wolves, serious tones, light tones, histories, mysteries & so much more flow so fluidly to enrich this fangelicious story giving it a rich & deep storyline. With Carmela having thoughts about a Vampire (For the first time in a long time, I wanted to do something utterly senseless. Something about her made me want to cradle her close and not let go.) while her father has chosen a Wolf (Maybe I was being territorial or whatever, but she was promised to me. Mine. We would work through whatever was going on.) to be her mate, now that is one great manwich I would love to be in the middle of! *naughty grin* I love how we got to learn more about the situation and just WHY it is like this, even though I am positive we have just started to scratch the surface!! Even how we are seeing more into the lives and backgrounds of the characters is told in such a way that you get glimpses, peeks even, but enough to keep the story interesting, it keeps it moving, but at the same time you keep frantically reading, desperate to know more! I am absolutely mesmerized & enthralled with this story and I want to read it all NOW! This is a prime example, reason actually, as to just why I do not like serials!! I am way too impatient to wait on the parts being released, especially when it is such a furrific story like this one!! I find this to be quite a different paranormal story. The characters may be familiar in that they are vampires & werewolves, but let me tell you, that is where the familiarity & similarities end! The histories, situations, current conditions, etc. are all unique and wholly all Sarah! I have read a few of her books now, but I think that this is her best yet! In my opinion this shows how Sarah has grown as an author and just how much talent she truly has!!

Carmela still going thru the abuse of there father. In this book it escalates even more. The things the tries to do to her is unthinkable. Would really like to see her father get what he deserves. I believe Brendan is a great guy. I think her father not meaning to chose an upstanding guy did so. I can only imagine her father would want someone more like him that would abuse his family. I would love to see the mating between Carmela and Brendon workout.

Brendon suspects there is things going on with Carmela. He sees something between Carmela and Derek which makes him over come by jealousy. But Brendon has every reason to be jealous, after all Carmela is promised to him. He also suspects Carmela is being abused by her father and this does not set well with him at all. Can he save her from her abusive father?

Derek still can not get Carmela out of his mind. After being attacked he is trying to finger out who is behind it. He does not feel like Carmela has had anything to do with it but what does he know, she is a werewolf which is a mortal enemy. Would she run and tell her people about him?

This is really a good book. Loving this series. But have to say between Derek and Brendon I am partial to Brendon. In this book Carmela will find herself in danger again and once again saved by the enemy. She will discover how abusive her father can really get. She will also need to make some serious choses. If you love shifter books you will love this one.

Beneath the Broken Moon part Two picks up with Carmela Santiago wanting a loving relationship with a man who cares about her and is not like her father. She meets her alpha werewolf Brendan Kelly who treats her with kindness and respect but is he too good to be true? She wonders if he could be the one but she finds herself thinking about vampire Derek. Brendan and Carmella go out for a date and get attacked by hunters while at the restaurant. The couple try to escape but Brendon and Carmella get injured. Derek and his frend come to the rescue by helping them to escape then taking them to Brendons home. Carmella's father is furious he takes her home and brutally attacks her but her cousin Chandra comes in and saves her. Camella knows she won't be so lucky next time. Carmella does't know where to go after she escapes. She is wandering the streets and finds herself in front of Derek's house. Her heart struggles to choose between the alpha werewolf she's destined for and the vampire she's enchanted by. The wrong decision could lead to deadly consequences. The author did a great job at building on book one and leaves us with a cliffhanger and wanting to know more. I was given the ARC and just asked to give an honest review.

Picking up where Part 1 left off, werewolf Carmela is to enter into a marriage, arranged by her abusive father. Brendon is happy to marry her, as his wolf acknowledges she is his mate. Carmela wants to be more than a breeding machine and although Brendon seems nice, how can she trust him? Perhaps he is just being nice to her now, but will turn out to be just like her father. Besides, she is still strangely drawn to the vampire who had saved her previously, Derek, and can't get him out of her mind. Out on a date, Brendan and Carmela run afoul of humans looking to exterminate supernaturals and are saved by Derek and his friend, Elliott. Something unthinkable, as werewolves and vampires are enemies. Members of the vampire High Council, Derek and Elliott could be in trouble now, as Derek pushes his agenda that the supernaturals are stronger together than as enemies, but for saving the wolves they could be killed. Beneath The Broken Moon 2 is a well-written, fluid read. Intriguing in its world-building and with enough "dark" to grab your emotions, I can't wait to see where it's going next, as this potential love triangle heats up.

Beneath The Broken Moon part 2 by Sarah Makela

Carmela spends time with her mate-to-be when there's an attack. Carmela and Brendan are both hurt, and the last person she expects to see and help is her other interest, Derek. Carmela's very confused about her feelings. Her feelings for the vampire and her feelings for the werewolf. But with her crazed father and vampire/werewolf hate relationship, who will Carmela choose.....her forbidden or her mate-to-be........!

I loved this book, it was really enjoyable. It has action and suspense and the start of a love triangle. I found the storyline in this book much clearer and you get a better understanding of the story. I love the characters and they are all really likable, who doesn't like a story that has a vampire and a werewolf for their main characters and love interests. So this book could go either way for me, it all depends on the three main characters. Really enjoyed this read. Looking forward to book 3!

There is so much action in Beneath the Broken Moon part 2. Carmela is out on her date with Brendan. He is trying to understand her better. You can feel for Carmela as her only role model has been her father, so she is understandably weary that Brendan may only be showing his best side for the short term. When they are forced to flee the Cazador, Derek and Elliot rescue them allowing Brendan to see that Carmela does know Derek and might be close to him. There is still the mystery of why Vampires and Werewolves are enemies when they should be working together especially since the Cazador are getting much more terrifying weapons. Once Carmela is returned home, I was horrified by her father being a really SOB and his abuse of her. Carmela has to flee but to where and what will her future now hold?

Carmela Santiago goes out with her soon to be mate Brendan Kelly and while they are eating a ruckus and gunshots are heard. When they escape they run into 3 Cazadors who are chasing a vampire. When Carmela and Brendan are injured they are helped by Derek Ashmore and his friend to get away from the Cazador. Carmela realizes she is in trouble when her father shows up and hurts her in front of Brendan and his family. Once at home her father beats her up more and she decides she has had enough and escapes the house.

This has drama, action, betrayal and romance. The author wrote great characters for this story.

This is for paranormal romance book lovers.There is violence against women in this story so please be advised.

Derek begrudgingly attends the council meeting and discovers things are not going well in the vampire world. Carmela and Brendan are doing well until their date is interrupted by the Cazador chasing a vampire, in the process Brendan is shot with a silver bullet but there is more to it than just plain silver and he and Carmela have to be rescued by Derek and Elliott (although Elliott's recent promotion within the council causes Derek concern over how safe his secret association with Carmela is). Carmela is forced home to her father's abuse but he goes too far and she runs but with nowhere else to go she finds herself at Derek’s door. Wow talk about a cliffhanger! This story gets better and better, can't wait for the next part!!!

Wow! I didn't think this story could get any more intense, but was I wrong. As we continue with the saga of Carmela and her two hunks that have caught her attention, we seem to be dragged through the dirt and back. This alpha Queen just can't seem to catch a break. The plot thickens as we get to know Brendan, meet Elliot and revisit with Derek. What's a girl supposed to do with all of these hot males sniffing around? Once again, we are left hanging off a short cliff. Can't wait for the next instalment. Well done Sarah.

Wow! It's a great book! I received an ARC for an honest review. But jeez, poor Carmela can't catch a break! Things just seem to be getting worse for her! Her date with Brendan seemed to be going well and maybe she did feel that spark? But Derek may still have a greater pull, although that whole deal seems doomed. Isn't it strange to think that vampires are the hunted? A weird apocalyptic world that Sarah Makela has created! But, boy, does it keep drawing me back in. A great second part in a very interesting and entertaining new series!

This is getting interesting and can't wait to read the next one!!! Brandon and Carmela is out on their date when they find their selves being chased by the Cazador. What's the chance that she's running for her life again. Brandon and Carmela gets hurt and Derek happens to be getting out of his meeting and goes and offers his help. Brandon notices the way Carmela and Derek seems to know each other. He doesn't bring it up cause he doesn't want to know. Her father comes and pick her up and like always he's displeased with her again will she be able to stop her father before it's too late?

I have been enjoying this series...and right now I think I am defiantly in Brendan's court ...and hoping that Carmela will get her happily ever after. I am just a little upset at the cliffhanger ending on this one...and now on pins and needles for the next in the series. I am enjoying how Carmela is finally realizing that all men are not like her father and opening her eyes to giving another wolf a fair chance even though she is attracted to Derek. Sarah Makela is defiantly an author that has made me to watch for list...for all her future releases.

The storyline gets more dark during the second part. You get to understand just how much abuse she faces at the hands of her father. It is definitely complicated for her in that she is starting to care for her arranged mate but still has feelings for the vampire, Derek, who rescued her. She has to decide how much she trusts each of them to protect her from her father. It ends with quite the cliff-hanger and I am eager to see what part three has in store for all of them. Shifter/Vampire storyline that pulls you in and leaves you hanging with the ending making you want to read more just to see what happens. Carmela is a werewolf with three problems. An abusive parent who may go too far and end up killing her. An arranged marriage where she afraid the in-laws to be don't approve of her but she feels a connection to Brendan. A forbidden attraction to Derek a vampire who is considered an enemy but keeps saving her. Captivating and intriguing. Can't wait for more. Received an ARC copy from author for a honest review.

Part 2: the plot thickens and leaves you wanting more. You would hope that something went right in her life but every time she turns around something worse happens. From the first page you are the edge of your seat. The tale is an amazing page turner. Do not miss out on the wolf destined to be mated but manages to find a potential love interest in a vampire. Will she make it through the attacks? I don't know but I'm ready for part 3. You have got to read this story!!!

So we are back to Carmela and Brendan's date. While things are great with him she still has her doubts and thoughts about Derek. Lots of excitement happens and Carmela is running from hunters. A chance meeting has Derek helping again but things are tense with Brendan there. Once back at home she really comes to terms she has to leave home. I loved this second part and can't wait to see how this all plays out. I like both Derek and Brendan!

I was given this free for my honest review, wow poor Carmela she is trying to do the right thing with Brendan but the feelings she has for Derek keep coming to the surface. While out trouble finds her and her knight comes to the rescue much to Brendan's confusion of why he would help them, then all the problems really do come, her dad. What a cliffhanger the story is really heating up now and I really can't wait to see what is going to happen, brilliant.
