Finding My Breath is a romantic suspense novel filled with heart, healing, and edge-of-your-seat tension.
Finding Your Breath is a fast paced romantic suspense novel that will have you gripped from beginning to end.
Dual POV, the story follows Estelle and Aiden, the way their worlds collide (quite literally), and how they seem to be exactly what each other needs to find their breath.
A story of love (both the romantic and platonic kinds), hope and discovery… if it’s not already on your TBR, this book needs to be your next read.

The story handles sensitive topics with so much care, particularly touching on mental health and panic disorders. A poetic depiction, ensnaring you in the moment with quotes like: “It’s not just nerves; this feels like a storm brewing, threatening to pull me under.”
The narrative also reminds you that no matter the storm, you can weather it. “You’ve been here before. You’ve survived this before.” 💛

Crossing my fingers for a Mariam x Logan story next 👀 I just have a feeling that there could be an interesting backstory to them both, and fear I’m already so invested!

Ali (my Leishy), your debut novel is an absolute masterpiece and you should be so proud ❤️
Finding My Breath is the debut book for Aussie indie author, Ali Lamb. It is a fast-paced contemporary romantic suspense following Estelle as she works through the difficulties of meeting someone new whilst the living with anxiety and PTSD that makes her want to keep her walls up.
I won’t say more about the plot because I don’t want to give it away, but I will say be prepared for the romance to be more of an instalove situation in relation to Estelle and Aiden’s feelings. It’s not for everyone, but I didn’t mind it here because it reminded me how some people really do just get to have love at first sight where things just flow and progress quickly (aka, my hubby and me). I also like that the instalove didn’t extend to physical intimacy, or at least we don’t see that because the book is a closed door romance.
I love Aiden. He is a walking green flag, cinnamon roll MMC. He is besotted with Estelle and he makes it known through his words AND his actions in the sweetest ways 🥹😍🙌🏻
Because I liked the premise and plot, I kinda wish the pacing was a little slower and all the in-between moments were fleshed out a bit more. At times, it did feel slightly like I was watching a movie on 2x speed. However, the fast pace does make it a good little palette cleanser!
Perfect for readers looking for a fun palette cleanser with: 💚 mental health representation 💜 love at first sight 💚 one bed 💚 cinnamon roll MMC 💜 loveable side characters (except for one) 💚 he saves her
Thank you Ali Lamb for the opportunity to read an early copy of your debut 🥹🫶🏻
Finding my Breath is the debut novel of the ridiculously talented @authoralilamb, who is now not only a published author but also a singer songwriter. I randomly met Ali a few years ago at a bookstore when we bonded over our love of an Aussie indie author. Little did I know that I’d be adding her to my list of Aussie authors.
This is a love at first he falls first, romantic suspense that is fast paced and just the palate cleanser I needed.
Estelle is finding her feet again after leaving her abusive ex, when she meets Aiden at the gym. An accidental dropping of dumbbells results in him helping her. They soon need to work together and feelings grow. She suffers with panic attacks and he helps her through. But when her abusive ex comes on the scene, things escalate. The story moves quickly and effortlessly, and whilst I would have like more grit and drama, I liked how it all progressed.
Thank you Ali for the opportunity to read an early copy of your debut, I’m truly in awe of your talents. I look forward to reading more of your stories and watching you develop further in your author journey.
