"Knocked Up by the Alpha" received TWO AND A HALF stars.

By the end I liked the characters and the story. The beginning was filled with too many sentences interrupted in the middle for a character’s internal thoughts. Each time I was dragged out of the story and had to re-read that line to figure out what was being said about the situation and what the character was thinking.

The novel gained *stars* for these items:

* gained for: "The book caught my interest in the first five pages."

1/2 * gained for: "I thought about the book when I was forced to set it down and re-enter society."

1/2 * gained for: "There were no info dumps, poor writing, or copy edit mistakes that jerked me out of the story."

1/2 * gained for: "I was sad when the book ended. I wanted more!"

The novel failed to gain stars for this item:

NO STAR gained for: "That's it. I'm hooked on this author. I will automatically try anything she/he/they writes."

When you're in a packed nightclub and come face to face with a famous singer but you can feel your heat starts, that's what you call freaking bad timing. This was so much more than an Alpha and an Omega with a baby dilemma, it was anger and oomf and frustration and one of them without a flipping clue. It's drawn out a bit at times, making it a wee bit frustrating now and then, but it's still a darn good story, you just have to suck it up a little here and there and carry on. But the story that's in there is good, intense and angsty, especially around the 70% mark. A darn good read.

Morality play

One constant life lesson. Like most morality plays, this needed to be broken up with humor … but wasn’t. Repetitious, predictable read …
