3.5 stars.

I finished this book a couple days ago and wanted to sit on the review.

First off, it's a cliffhanger - a little knowledge about this would have been wonderful. I like to read the books as a whole. It's annoying.

I loved the characters overall, they seemed to fit together well. Yes, it was instalove and yes, some of it was rather eyeroll worthy but it worked. I wanted to see if Sean got his just due, or what about the female he was caught with?

Unfortunately, by the time the second book comes out I don't think I will remember it enough to bother picking it up. (which is one reason why I dislike cliffhangers)

First of all this is a spoiler free review. I'm rating this 3 stars as in ehh. A prase to describe this book is predictable and boring. Honestly the hallmark movie "A Royal romance" is way better and similar to this. I mean the plot and everything. This I had a very secret princes(TV show) feel to it. I loved the Walmart scenes even though there weren't that many I loved that. Geoff, Michaels butler I loved his character it made this less boring. The security/MI6 people also made this book less boring. This book had very southern aspects in it. I'm not saying it's a bad thing because I think the author did a wonderful job showing what the south is like. (I'm saying the south as in America by the way) For me personally as a Yankee or Northern (that's what the south calls us where I'm from) I just didn't like it. This book was lacking I don't know what it was but it was lacking. In this book there is racism addressed and I honestly didn't like that. Racism is a touchy subject. This is a romance novel it really shouldn't be here and I could understand if it was in any other book genre. I felt that it took away from the romance. This book was hard to get through I was bored most of the time. I ended skimming 1/4th of this. It was one of those books you read to pass the time and forget about.

4.5 Stars! I REALLY enjoyed this book! Latrivia S. Nelson is one of those writers that write real characters. People that you feel you could have a cup of coffee with.

Highness is no exception. From the moment you realize that Hope is , you KNOW it's gonna be good. Enter the fish out of water Prince that's taking a sabbatical from the limelight by way of Mississippi and we have lift off!

It must be so wonderful for someone to like you and maybe even love you for who you are on the inside. I swear I heard an audible sigh when the prince realized that he was unknown to her. Hope not being able to see him, turns him on in a big way!

A whole world opened up. I pictured what it must have been like for Dorothy in the The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

This book reminds me of Percy Sledge's When a Man Loves A Woman. http://youtu.be/DMgFK_GPaw0

In addition to this romantic love story, in the most sincerest of ways, we get royal and socialite back biting. They make manipulation an art! Drinks thrown, secrets blurted out! I love it all!

The ex-girlfriend is the cherry on top.

It was a great read, a great pace, funny, sexy and I loved it. It would have been 5 stars if not for a few minor typos. (And I do mean MINOR). Don't let it keep you from reading the book!

If you like this one, check out The Grunt. It's the book that got me hooked on Ms. Nelson

After starting, and then skipping through this book, all I can say is that this just wasn't my cuppa. That's not to say that it sucked, but it just did not work for me. In my opinion the sex scenes were awkward, and there was too much lag, and not enough captivation.

It is not my intention to be mean-spirited, but honest. Because, an honest review is what I expect to see on GR.

Other than that, I would like to thank my fellow "Fans of Interracial Romance" group member for loaning me this book... Also, I wish the author much success in her future endeavors.

Giving this one: 2 stars.

Let me start off by saying, I really did not know what expect with this book , being as I really did not like the last book in Lonely hearts series, but this book was a surprise and it was pretty good. Michael is the pretty boy screw up of the British Royal Family. His recent antics have landed him in hot water with the crown and he has to hide out until the storm blows over. So Prince Michael heads to the States to hide in the small Mississippi town of Hernando and finds what he has been looking for. Hope Daniels is a young eccentric artist who knows all about pain and lost, when she finds her boyfriend in bed with another woman and it sends he out driving into a rain storm, what happens next is life altering and when her new neighbor stops by neither of them will ever be the same.
Not a bad read but not a great one either, it had some good points that keep me interested, like will Hope regain he sight? Will Micheal give in to his family's demands? and the whole Royal dynamic was new & interesting to me but I just can't say I love this book. There were things that I just wasn't feeling, for instance, they had sex & fell in love really fast, they had just met like two days before. Then the whole I will not give her up no matter what, he had only known her 2 weeks at the time and he is willing to give up being King of England for her? that's a bit much.To me it was not as good or believable as other books in the series like the Grunt( which I loved) and Finding Opa! I find that most people either really love this author or hate her. I must say I love a lot of her work. I have read all of her books and while I really love some, others were just ok. That's the beauty of reading to me, just because you love an author that does not mean you will love everything they do and that's ok. I will still read and look for Ms. Nelsons work because she is very good writer in my eyes, ever though this was not one of my favorites, I sure some of her other fans loved it.

Good book. The prince and I, with a twist. I enjoyed the book but am not thrilled about waiting 6 to 12 months for the next book. This trend of cliffhangers is getting old. I want a complete novel. The premise was fun but the book seemed rushed. I did like the H and the h. Hope doesn't back down. Nelson does write strong African American women who are not stereotypical angry and brash. The love between Micheal and Hope is sweet, sincere and hot! It will have you singing 'Real Love' by Eric Benet. Racial issues are touched upon but not overblown. It's good weekend afternoon read.

I love this series and have read all the books. The story started off slow for me and I only really started to enjoy it when they left to go to London after being summons to do so.

I would have preferred for it to be a complete story, we have to wait for Part 2 to find out whether Michael will be able to be King and marry the woman he loves.

I felt something was missing from this story, I cannot put my finger on it but this is just my opinion.

The head jumping... The head jumping! WTH?!? This was not well written. And where was the very logical plot point of her dealing with blindness, emotionally- whether temporary or not? That would have given this story some heft and some weight.

NOT HARDCORE, BUT...

My reader's perception is that though this read is not a hardcore read of a romance, it is just what is needed to come down from one. A light hearted read that leaves me with a very satisfying feel that my money was well spent. Ms. Nelson did a terrific job in the development and back stories of the lead characters, added a heavy dose of hot, hot spice, inserted some intriguing drama, incorporated a whole lot of tissue worthy sadness, pair all of that with an unpredictably explosive climax and voila it initiated a solid 4.5 star rating from me. Ms. Nelson sure knows how to build up to a very very suspense filled, cliff hanjging ending. I was sitting on the edge of my seat unable to determine who would do what. I strongly suggest your reading for yourself to find out for yourself. By downloading this e-book, you will experience a very well written and sweet, sweet romance. It did "Coming To America" proud.

I just have to end by saying I am sick and tired of all of these damned series. Doesn't anyone know how to write books with a serious, down to earth ending???? This is very disheartening to the present literary scene. And personally, I am sick and tired of it! Readers unite and stop feeding the coffers of the authors that are continually following this type of program. Stop buying and they will have to conform. Though I enjoyed this story, do not think I will be buying book 2. Tired of being pimped. Add the fact that this wasn't even a strong hardcore read, why in the name of Hades do we have to wait for a follow-up on a light, light romance??!! Ridiculous!!! Sick and tired of being sick and tired!! Also these series writers who delay for such a length of time releasing their books 1-1,000, are playing a dangerous game. Readers attention spans are very short and forgetfulness can take root, quick fast and in a hurry. Shoot by the time their follow-ups are released, the entire storyline will have been forgotten. Readers don't want to have to keep going back to play catch up, in order to revitalize the memory of the storyline. Shucks, all that was needed was two more chapters, at the very least, to provide an exciting ending to this book. But nooo, we getting pimped again!!

Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait just a darned minute!! Stop the presses!! I thought my rant was over, but Lo and Behold, I have to continue it, because more fuel has been added to the fire - enough to keep this fiery rant going. I went back to read the synopsis just now and saw that the very last line said, "No cliff hanger. This is a full book with a second part." What the hell??? How can you say that when the last sentence at the end of the book emphatically says "TO BE CONTINUED"???!!! Is it me, am I missing something? If the story is incomplete does not matter that you didn't end with a big boom. You, my dear Ms. Nelson, chose to end with a gentle lull, but you definitely set the stage for a series because you left your fan base and or first time readers with a deep feeling of incompleteness. I, for one, will not be awaiting with bated breath for you to fill that void you created with your inaccurate statement "This is a full book." Shame on you!

For the reader that will come at me with the statement, "It clearly states series in title of book", I respond that a great discrepancy was presented between that and the statement at the end of the synopsis. I have read many series that were truthful standalones. The next book in those series featured a different set of protagonists with a totally different storyline, not a continuation. Therein lies the difference. But woe is me, woe is me, I am doomed, along with countless others, to being put in the position of choosing our poison when downloading these series being unleashed upon a captive audience - captive, not captivated, in most cases. What can we do? If you can't beat em, we are forced to join em. We just have to be very selective in our choices of which authors to follow. I have 4 authors in my Rolodex of extremely gifted quality authors that I will follow, no matter how many books they write in a series; Tiana Laveen, Love Belvin, Franchette Phal and Pepper Pace. In order to survive this current trend of multiple books on 1 storyline fever, I suggest you choose yours.

If anyone out there knows of a good book written by an author that can tell a story in 1 book, no series, please please let me know!! I am in total desperation mode, for real!!

I thought this book was sweet! I really enjoyed it!

I didn't know what to expect going into it after reading the synopsis.. but I liked the idea... I have always thought Prince Harry was the cutie out of the two... sooo I allowed myself to imagine myself (yessssss) and Harry as the characters... LOL..

how could you not!?

can I have him? Id like to just hear him say my name... once.. or twice.. just whisper in my ear..

OK OK Moving on...

I LOVED Hope and Michael's love.. both having just gone through break ups.. they some how find each other and allowed their love to blossom..

After breaking up with her boyfriend Hope is involved in an accident that leaves her temporarily blind.. What I liked about her is how strong she was through it all... not complaining... or being hard on herself she just accepted what happened and remained positive... when she first meets Micheal... she can't see him... but is drawn to him... she has no clue who he is... but can't get him off her mind...

Michael is sent to the US after some bad publicity... he is supposed to lay low.. live like a commoner and no females.. but when asked to take Hope her mail he is instantly taken by her... and does what he can to be around her... how he speaks to her and cares for her will make your heart melt...

Their relationship happened pretty quickly and I'm normally not a fan of the insta-love stories... but theirs worked.. it just made sense... Michael wanted someone to love him for him and not his crown and Hope just wanted love... two people who normally would be broken.. find each other.. tugged on my heart a lil... I found myself smiling throughout the whole book..

They run into issues because of Michael's duties to his country but he fights for her.. he fights for them.. and that did it for me... Hope's ex didn't fight for her when his friends and family had an issue with her race.. but Michael fought and would not let her go...

This is the first book I have read by Latrivia S. Nelson and I am impressed... the story was short and sweet and forced me read to it in one sitting... I liked how she address the issue with race.. and although there was no cliff.. per se.. I'm still forced to wait for the next book to find out the rest of their story.. and that is the one thing I don't like... but I will wait.. impatiently... cause I have no patience... I need to know what happened!

Ok... Ill wait.. I don't want to.. but I will..

OMG...my girl Latrivia does it again! Prince Micheal is absolutely swoon-worthy - blond curls, blue eyes, great physique = Yumminess. Hope is a "real person" which is just what Michael needs. They are perfect for one another. I love how devoted he is to Hope. I just wish this was not a cliffhanger book. Book 2 and Fall 2015 can't come soon enough for me.

Blinded by love!

I really enjoyed this book. All things Hope had been through, no one person should have. Then Michael just wanted to experience real love, for that and not for how he looked or titles he have. Hope was just what he needed, and he was just what her doctor order.

I made editing notes below, the writing was a train wreck. I had to DNF this book halfway through. I can’t believe I bought this based on the 4-star average. You lied to me.

I was excited for the story. The Instalove was a bit queasy, and it’s obviously a Prince Harry fanfic, but I held on. I just pulled the plug after the bath tub and sex scene. As soap operas have taught us, when one goes blind from a knock to the head, everyone knows the cure is another knock to the head. While literally bleeding from a head wound, she gives a speech about not being easy and refusing to be a one-night-stand. Then two pages later she’s legs up getting pounded. I’m out.

The worst part of this book is the lack of formatting and editing. The author bio says she’s the CEO of a publishing house, so I assume this book is self-published. You can tell. I started taking notes on errors I found. These are just the ones that were so obvious I had to note. I didn’t even bother marking up the grammar issues. Every time I ran across a flagrant error, it was a record scratch for me. On top of these are the sentence spacing errors where sometimes sentences are separated by one, or two, or three spaces. Just random patterns like this on every page. Anyway, if this thing ever gets a reprint, please fix the list below. I gave up on page 183 (you can tell I stopped caring after 100 pages of this), so someone needs to edit the rest of it.

Pages:
10 - pealed/peeled paint
66 - there/their second run
76 - Sunflower/Sunflowers by Elizabeth Arden - brand name
84 - Mid Summer’s Night Dream/Midsummer Night’s Dream
85 - small queen sized bed/queen-sized - and they aren’t small
89 - Intel/intel - don’t use the brand name here
95 - used “only” twice in a row
105 - Care bear smocks/Care Bear - brand name
106 - Pulling the envelopes/putting
165 - Hershey kiss nipples/Hershey Kiss - brand name
179 - eggs benedict/Eggs Benedict - name

I enjoy the books in the lonely hearts collection, and this one was no exception. I tried holding off on reading this one until part two was released (so I could read them back to back), but I ended up giving in. I'm really hoping the next book is out shortly, esp. since the cover is now showing on her website.

Nice read but misleading 🤨

I can't stand to read an overview that claims "no cliffhanger " only to get to the end and read...pt.2 to follow!!! Then THERE IS NO PART 2!!!🤬 This is the reason for the 2 stars...smh in disappointment.

Will True Love Win Out??

SPOILER ALERT: It's difficult to do a proper review without revealing some spoilers. For those who hate spoilers, you may want to skip this review.

This was a different book written by Ms. Welch. Rather than a book about the Russian Mafia, she wrote one about the royal family and an American commoner - Shades of Harry and Meghan. Sorry Harry and Meghan just married this weekend and you can't help but wonder if that was the reason for the book. I know it takes a while to write a book and Ms. Welch said perhaps they took inspiration from her book. I don't buy it.

Nevertheless, this was a good romance. We find out a lot about Michael, the Prince and Hope, a blind artist n separate chapters. They both found out that their lovers really didn't love them. Hers because they were in the South and he, Reagan, couldn't be with a black woman. Of course that came out when she caught him with another woman. Did he just discover she was black after introducing her to his fa.mily? She rushed from the house into a terrible storm.

Hope had come to Hernado, Mississippi to care for her elderly grandparents who both passed (not past). She reminded there painting even after she goes blind.

Michael finds out that his fiancee was only marrying him because he would be king. I don't know why he was so shocked. He should have known she wasn't in love. He went on a drunken sex spree which made all of the papers and it was decided that he needed to go someplace where he was unknown - Hernando, Mississippi. His house was right next door to Hope.

Michael meet Hope by delivering her mail to her. Sparks fly and in no time, they develop feelings for each other. Michael w!as looking for someone who didn't want him because he was a Prince and very good looking. Hope didn't know anything about him and she certainly has no idea of what he looked like. Things happened so that the Prince ended up taking care of her. The press was out in full force trying to find the Prince even offering $100,000 for anyone offering proof of where the Prince can be found. Not wanting Hope to be blindsided, no pun intended. Michael tells her who he is and about the press coverage.

Does Hope regain her sight and how does she react to him being a Prince? Michael is summoned home by his brother, the Prince and his mother, the Queen. Does he leave Hope and does he renounce his title? Even though this is a two part series and I knew that when I decided to read the book. This book ends in a cliffhanger. Series don't have to end in cliffhangers therefore I was disappointed. You're forced to buy the second book if you want to find out what happened. You really want to know!

The book is very good I loved how protective they both were of each other. They both were open and honest with each other. The minor characters were honorable people with courage - his guards as well as the woman who originally took care of her. Read the book but you may want wait for the second book. I've learned that it takes a while for Ms. Welch to complete a book. It doesn't help because her books are full of grammatical errors. She said the second book was coming out this summer. I'm certainly not holding my breath.

Wow, what a great story. We are introduced to Hope and Michael. Hope is a strong AA sister, who knows who she is. Michael is "the Prince of Wales" and he struggles to find out who he really is. Hope has two mishaps quickly, she finds out her boyfriend is cheating and she loses her sight. Losing your sight can be devastaing, more so for Hope, she is an artist/painter.Her sight was lost, because of being upset about the infidelity. Her BFF , Bree comes to the rescue and Sean hires a housekeeper to aide her as she waits on her sight to return.

Michael has been sent to the Colonies, to regroup from his escapades at home. There are huge laughs about Michaels experience in America's all time best store - Walmart. It is hilarious or as Michael said - "Everything can be found here, even a communicable disease"...you gotta read it..

Michael meets Hope to give her her mail. The chemistry leads them on a fast and furious ride. Hope regains her sight and it never sways her when she finds out who Michael really is. Thier relationship is outed by a jealous former lover who is money hungry and wants to achieve his 30 seconds of fame. Michael knows the type he was engaged to someone with similar ambitions, and she is a piece of work in this story. Race is factor in all this mess as well.

Michaels ' brother and mother summon hiim home. He will not go unless Hope goes with him. The mess that awaits him causes his blood to boil and causes Hope to give him up for his country.

However, this is a cliff hanger and "its not over, its not over", Thank you Ms Nelson. I am hooked and awaiting book 2. GREAT read
