Reading omegaverse already feels like a taboo in my irl circle, but reading Alpha/Alpha??? That's like doing crack and I fucking love it.
GOD, this book. THIS FUCKING BOOK. My heart was racing like it was my first time reading smut. I was fucking foaming at the mouth the moment they started touching each other OMFG. And when they started dirty talking I WAS SO WEAKKKKKKK.
But it was also super cute and sweet??? What kind of magic is this........

I read four of these Lillian Lowe omegaverse short stories in one day and yes I'm fine why do you ask?
I got a little nervous once I started this one because I didn't realize that homophobia was going to be a central part of the plot. I tend to avoid that, but I'm glad that I continued because this was actually so sweet? This universe is interesting because alongside the regular old run of the mill stigma surrounding men loving each other, this had the added fun of designation dynamic discrimination as well - basically alpha x alpha (and presumably omega x omega?) pairings are taboo. Meaning our MCs, who both exclusively like other alpha men, are heavily discriminated against.
But while there's definitely a bit of angst because of the closeted MC (who didn't even realize what his preferences were until setting a single eyeball on the other MC and realizing holy shit yes to that), it was ultimately handled in a fairy tale/idealized kind of way and I don't care how realistic or not it was, it was fucking lovely and exactly how these things should go.
I was scared I wasn't going to like the closeted boxer MC but damned if he didn't end up being my favorite (personal growth is hot). And the out ballerino MC was fantastic from the start. They were adorable together and the sex was hot but also different from other omegaverse I've read because of the underlying aggressive instincts between the alphas. Very fun.
Anway these are bangers and excellent little in between books, and this one has made me realize I haven't read enough boxer x ballerino books and I have been missing out.

I thought the book was so cute. I loved the relationship between the alphas. It was a very low angst read. I definitely recommend if you are looking for a quick read and mainly light story (some homophobia is in there but not from the mmcs)

Training the Alpha is the first book in the new Foundry Boxing Gym Alphas series by Lillian Lowe. This is a sweet, low angst, opposites attract read about Marcus and Alex. I really enjoyed this short story and the characters, I can't wait to see what comes next in the series.

This was a sweet, low-angst romance that was easy to enjoy. Marcus and Alex made a fantastic opposites-attract pairing, with Marcus's quiet, reserved nature balancing Alex's confidence and charm perfectly.
I really liked seeing Marcus gradually accept both his feelings and himself, while Alex's patience and unwavering support made it impossible not to root for them. Their chemistry was strong from the start, and the relationship developed naturally without unnecessary drama.
A quick, heartwarming read with likeable characters, plenty of romance, and a well-earned happy ending.
