Divine Love in Islamic Mysticism

The two theories of divine love that are examined in this book have their foundations in Greek, Jewish, Christian and Muslim ideas. Al-Ghazâlî (twelfth century) was influenced mainly by Plato and Ibn Sina's teachings, while al-Dabbâgh (thirteenth century), who accepted some Ghazâlîan notions, developed a theory of divine love that can be traced back to Neoplatonism. Both scholars created complete theories of divine love that include definitions of love, its causes and signs, the ways to love God, God's love for man, and kinds of love. The book will interest students of theology, philosophy and mysticism in general, and students of Islam in particular.

من هم ترجمه‌ی حمیرا ارسنجانی - نشر نگاه معاصر - کنار دستم بود هم ترجمه‌ی مرضیه شریعتی - انتشارات حکمت - ؛ هر دو ترجمه در سال ۱۳۸۸ منتشر شده‌اند. ترجمه‌ی حمیرا ارسنجانی از نگاه معاصر ترجمه‌ی بهتریه. در ضمن یک مقاله‌ی خواندنی از آبراهاموف هم در پایان ترجمه‌ی ارسنجانی ضمیمه شده که به نظر من خیلی جالبه - در مورد تلقی غزالی از بهترین راه رسیدن به خدا

حاشیه: ملکیان در هر دو ترجمه نقشی داشته ظاهرا. در ترجمه‌ی ارسنجانی ویراستاره و در ترجمه‌ی شریعتی در مقدمه ازش تشکر شده. نمی‌دونم چرا به یکی از این دو نفر نگفته دست از ترجمه‌ی یه کتاب تکراری بردارن. شاید هم گفته اینا گوش نکردن یا شاید هم دیگه کار از کار گذشته بوده

حاشیه‌ی دو: تنها مزیت ترجمه‌ی شریعتی اینه که عبارات عربی رو هم اورده در نقل قول‌ها و آیات و روایات اما ترجمه‌ی ارسنجانی فقط بعضی رو آورده. ترجمه‌ی شریعتی این کتابه:

Divine Love in Islamic Mysticism gives a strong academic view of محبة in Islamic thought. Abrahamov connects Ibn Arabi and Al Ghazali's ideas in a clear way. Easy to follow but opens up layers of meaning. Like Rumi's Mathnawi, it helps you look at love from different angles.
