FUN BIO

I grew up in a small town in Texas that is a little bit like my fictional town of Kickapoo in my novels. Okay, it's a lot like it. I'm a "write what you know" woman, which was easier than what I did on the first three unpublished novels I wrote.

And, let's just be honest here, it was therapy for me. That's right. The mystery novels were my therapy books, not the actual self-therapy books I've written. It will make perfect sense after you read the novels.

Because really, think of how therapeutic it is to have the power to go back to your childhood and teenage years and avenge your traumas. Seriously, you can go back and kill anyone who ever did you wrong. It's a nice theory, but that's the therapy part. Once I started writing and seeing things a bit differently, I really didn't need to do what I thought I did. Oh, don't get me wrong, people die, but not always the ones I set out to "get."

My fictional alter ego did parallel my own life in that she moved from Texas to Colorado and did not like the idea of ever going back to her hometown--or her mother. I lived most of my adult life in Colorado, about 20 years, lived for a year in Missouri during my divorce and have been in Arkansas for about eight now.

Life took zigs and zags, and sometimes it seemed not so great, but looking back, it was absolutely perfect. And now, I am truly living the life I love!

"Living the Life You Love" by Paula Renaye is a detailed book for those you want to figure out to get the life you want to love. Paula gives readers a no-nonsense guide to getting this life, through detailed chapters, real life examples and templates and guides to help readers work through the information Renaye gives readers in each chapter. Renaye guides readers from the beginning through to the end to complete the total transformation for each reader. Renaye gives readers many different types of tools, techniques and examples to help readers bring to life the realism of what Renaye is trying to get readers to do in their lives. Great details.

I was at first a little unsure of what to take away from this book, but upon reading this book I figured out that some of the major life changes I have made in my life were warranted and correct in the way I went about doing it. It was nice to have the confirmation that what I was doing what right. I liked that Renaye not only explained why she was writing each chapter, but she also gave real life examples for readers to relate to and then the transformation insights were amazing. She said now do what I told you to do in the chapter and gave you the tools to do not just let you flit around on your own wondering what to do. That is very powerful for people. Renaye gave many great ideas and tools for readers to get to where they want to be in their lives, she also does remind people that life is not always perfect and it may not work out the way you want, even with all the information and advise she is giving readers, but this is a start to help readers get there. I have to admit I learned a lot, especially why I do certain things now with negative people in my life. I have to admit, personally, over the last few years I have really grown as a person and this book showed me how and why I have done what I have done and has also given me courage and advise to keep moving forward in my life to get the life that I want, or should I say, continue living the life I love!

I would like to thank Goodreads and Paula Renaye for my advance, autographed, copy of the book. It was a great read and useful as well. Well done Paula!

I received this book free from first reads. Living the life you love by Paula Renaye.

What can I say! I have read self help books before and found them patronising and silly. This one was completely different, it was well written, entertaining and spoke to you like a grown up. The content was informative and easy to follow.

The information was practical and the things the author told you to do were achievable, I also found I was able to identify myself in the things that were said. Obviously I have not had time to put all the information to the test, but I have read the whole book through and feel that it is possible to achieve every thing the author said. I will also be dipping into it as time goes on.

I would recommend this book to anyone who is unhappy with their situation in life, it really does help you to understand yourself and what you want.

Covers a Lot of Ground

While there’s nothing in here that will shock you into action, there is a lot of useful approaches, action worksheets and steps, as well as good advice from the author that will help you keep moving. Her holistic approach to wellness and transformation is necessary in a world where there are too many spot solutions. A good resource.

If I were female -- there's a strange precursor -- I would have given this book five stars! It is beautifully written by a talented author. The book is structured around the author's personal journey of healing, forgiveness and solid personal growth principles. I highly recommend it to anyone on a growth path -- and especially women. It's both a "good read" and potentially llfe-changing.
