Damien, a sex club owner, and Lyla, a shy, inexperienced woman, connect at a singles masquerade mingle night. My favorite part was seeing Lyla learn to use her voice and ask for what she wants. Damien reminds her that she is worthy of having her desires heard before fulfilling them completely. Addie Renee is a new author to me, but she turned me into an instant fan. It was short, sweet, and steamy—I need more!

Lauren Beck was new to me and did a great job playing Lyla. Hearing Atlas Quinn made this an automatic listen for me as I know his work from the Quinn app, and both narrators brought the story to life effortlessly.

Chokehold is a MF short spicy story by Addie Renee and is the first in a series listed as "Erotic One Night Stands". I listened to the Duet Narration audiobook, narrated by Lauren Beck and Atlas Quinn. This is a focuses on the 2 primary characters, Damien and Lyla, how they met, the progression of their one night, and what happened afterwards. The chapters switch between points of view to give the reader the full picture of both characters perspective on the encounter. It is VERY spicy, and absolutely amazing.

The story story begins in present day, then goes backwards in time, to when and how Lyla was convinced to attend an event at a spicy club which happens to be owned by Damien. The reader is given a small amount of background on both of the characters, but the story does seem to mostly focus on Lylas perspective and their first encounter. It is a fast-paced novella and contains a high amount of spice, but also enough story that it leaves the reader wanting more.

The duet style narration in this audiobook was so freaking good! The chemistry between the 2 narrators was *chefs kiss* and the listener can really feel a connection between the characters as a result. I found myself both eager and highly disappointed to finish the story as I immediately wanted more of this pair. The narrators did beautifully with conveying not only the emotions of the scenes, but the tones and it truly felt like they were able to channel the characters.

Overall, this novella made me desperate for more, not just of these characters, but by this author. It contains very mature content, so listeners and readers should be 18+. Please check the triggers prior to listening as it does certain aspects that some might find triggering, however consent is highly emphasized throughout the story, which I appreciated. I look forward to seeing more from this author and am excited to listen to the rest of the series when it's available.

I listened to the audiobook edition, so I’ll review the book itself first and the voices second.

This was a fun little novella. The story was simple but emotional, and the reservations and feelings of each character were perfectly clear. There was also a whole lot of spiciness crammed into this small package, and it was all great. I really liked the ending, which provided plenty of closure despite the short format. I would definitely read another book in this series, and more by this author!

Specifically regarding the audiobook edition, Lauren Beck and Atlas Quinn stand out as actors who gave these brief characters a lot of personality. Lyla was sassy, a little nervous, and bold when it made sense. Damien was flirty, mysterious, and fervent. All of this came through in the narration and made this an even more enjoyable read.

Overall, if you enjoy a good dose of BDSM spice, an emotional character arc, and some fantastic voices to represent that, you should give this one a listen ASAP!

I have to say the audio was very well done I enjoyed it. This was a very different read and work from Addie and I am enjoying seeing this new side of her writing . I am more of an immersive reader so audio and ebook always help me understand and connect tot he characters but this was very spicy and I enjoyed it so much a very good girl who is trying to figure herself out meets a club owner that’s a way to grab your attention and it had mine ! In all honesty to have the narrators for Layla and Damien were everything you have the perfect sassy and spice in this audio and even the banter in there spice was tastefully done. I felt lucky enough to be able to immersive read I do feel that we all have a different level of spice and I enjoyed it! Lauren and Atlas did such a phenomenal job !

first audiobook ive sat down and wanted to just fully finish already. This book had me all over the place between getting frustrated with home girl being all uptight and stiff and then my guy repeating himself on "use your words". Had to pause and leave and make some coffee to calm down from that. then it had me excited with the beginning and then the sensory deprivation yeeees. overall loved the voices and the energy they brought however i feel that maybe having some sound effects going on would make it that much better. highly recommend this book as it definitely had my britches dampened.

A great novella to read in one sitting - or lying down with a kindle holder and page clicker, as you do 😂 I read it alongside the audio duet narration; both Atlas Quinn and Lauren Beck were excellent choices for Damien and Lyla, respectively 💪🏼🎀 I need all my books to have audio now 🤭 Thank you to Atlas for an Audible UK code, immersion reading has quickly become my new hobby 🤗 This was my first read from Addie Renee and certainly not the last!

You HAVE TO immersive read this book! You can’t just eyeball read it!! You won’t get the full experience. Between Lauren Beck begging and Atlas growling, they somehow make the smut smuttier. Now don’t go into this expecting a wholesome plotted out story. Like the author said in her author’s note, “The main plot is smut.” And boy did she make this the smuttiest!!

This book was such a good time listen. This may be short, but it packs a punch. The kinky spicy scenes are delicious and the characters are captivating. Addie Renee writes a wonderful fun, spicy, and sexy erotica romance wonderfully. I will admit I was drawn to this one by the beautiful colors in the cover and then I saw it was a short and kinky listen, I was SOLD. So glad I listened to this story. Loved every minute!
