This book offers a light, comforting escape with a classic small-town feel and a charming cast of characters, with Alastair being my personal favorite. While the plot contains elements of a mystery, the identity of "who done it" is revealed to the audience very early in the story. Because the narrative is straightforward and does not have major twists or suspense to keep the reader guessing, it is a very easy, predictable read to follow.
