Enter Jocelyn an aspiring fashion designer with her own business that is doing exceedingly well. Asher has a reputation for being a one night kind of guy who loves the attention of the ladies. Jocelyn started her fashion design business as a project for college and it just took off. She hired Chad as her business partner to help her grow the business, but Chad has taken over not only her business but also her personal finances and has convinced her father that she in not capable to run her own business by herself. Chad wines and dines Jocelyn in the beginning but his behavior becomes more violent and domineering as time goes by. Soon Jocelyn finds herself wanting to escape Chad and finds herself at a bar where she runs into Asher. She doesn't believe recognize him as a member of the band and just talking with him has them both getting hot and bothered in a good way. Asher and Jocelyn have awesome sex but both are unsure where it will take them. A relationship seems a bit hard to have when Jocelyn's business is local and Asher being in the band travels a lot meaning there will be a lot of long distance calls and loneliness for the other. Can they make it all work out?
This was another of Karolyn James's rock band books that was well worth my time reading – her writing style just draws the reader in and doesn't let go. Looking forward to the next book.
The kiss was just another reason why this was right and perfect. The way Asher tasted and the way he took care of her, with just his lips was enough to make Jocelyn bet her entire life on him. I loved this story, it would have gotten a 5 but it had many grammatical issues that often changed the meaning of a sentence. Great characters, liked the cross reference to another series
I have read all of the Brothers of Rock books and as a writer Karolyn has grown by leaps and bounds. Face the Music is about Asher the guitarist for Gone by Autumn. We see Asher as a full fledged manwhore throughout the series. He only does one night stands and most of the time doesn't even learn the woman's name. He enjoyed living the "Rockstar life", except for the invasive paparazzi. At the end of the previous book, Escape the Noise, Asher is in a car accident as a result of being chased by paparazzi. Now he is injured and it is his left hand, something he needs to play the guitar. We are given the gift of seeing Asher in a whole new light as he faces the healing process, inability to perform on stage, and being temporarily replaced by guitarist JT. It is this injury that has him outside of a bar to witness an altercation between Jocelyn and her ex-boyfriend and business partner. This is where we get to witness Asher's true personality shine through. Karolyn did an awesome job with character development and the interaction between the two love interests. Jocelyn is a strong person who has been berated and beaten into submission and through the interactions and positive attentions from Asher, grows into a strong woman again. Asher turns out to be a stand up guy, not only for Jocelyn, but for JT and the rest of the band. This a a page turner, filled with emotion and angst. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. I highly recommend this book.
Wonderful read! I love the Gone by Autumn, Brothers of Rock series. Asher will have already made you fall in love with him from the previous Gone by Autumn books. In Face the Music he will pull you in the deeper, softer side of the hot, sexy rock star. Jocelyn will have your heart from the very first page you read about her. The chemistry between Asher and Jocelyn is explosive and will have you turning the pages as fast as you can. This book and whole Brothers of rock series is a must add to your reading shelf.
Who doesn't love a rockstar that falls in love with the everyday girl? Me that's who! I feel in love with Asher within the first few pages. He was honest and upfront with the people around him. He simple was a decent guy with a rockstar status. Jocelyn was the pretty girl trying to live her life but abuse and control was taking its toll on her. Why didn't she just leave? You'll have to read and find out. Asher and Jocelyn's story is amazing and loving. Will they be able to make it through the burdens of life and her abuse unscathed?
I bought my copy from Amazon, I absolutely love this series! That hasn't changed although I was a bit disappointed with the fact this book had a lot of spelling mistakes or extra words/words missing from sentences. Having to try to work out what the sentence was suppose the be got a bit annoying. But again I love these books and can't wait for Gone by Autumns final book and to see where the author takes the books next.
I received for an honest review. I haven't read any of the other books before, but you can pick up on the story with no issue at all. This book is hot and you will not want to put it down. It is so wonderfully written. I love Asher and his no s*** attitude. He is so full of life and he is a take what you get type of guy. He is not about to let someone get hurt either. The fact that he is smoking hot helps too.
There is nothing more to say than read this book now. I love all the books through all the Brothers of Rock series, but I think Asher took my heart the most. What he fights to overcome in life and love makes this an amazing read. I personally can't wait to see what happens with Blake in the next book! Brother of Rock fan for life!
Loved the book. I only had one problem with it. Asher's hand injury. There is no way that Asher could of lifted Jocelyn at that stage of recovery, also he would of been having physical therapy for the injury. I know because I've been there. Other than that, the book was great. Looking forward to the next book.
This was my first Gone by Autumn book and I enjoyed it enough to want to purchase the rest of the series. However, as an avid reader, it was tough to not be distracted by the many editing errors. There were so many that I'm still considering whether to buy the rest of the series.
Really am loving this series! I'm not sure about the book though. Things have just drawn out way too much about Maya and Blake. I am going to at least sample it though. I sure hope we get a book on J.T. too. I just don't want the series to end!
I love this whole series of books. I feel like I'm on stage with them! This book had a lot of typos in it. Still enjoyed it but had to reread parts so it made sense.
This was a great story, and i loved Asher and Joycelyn but man was this book full of editing mistakes. It don't usually bother me but wen it breaks up the flow of the story it bothers me.
