Burning For The Single Dad Firefighter by Lily Birch is the kind of single-dad romance that gets me every time—not simply because Troy falls for Christina, but because we get to watch Bella fall for her too. Their journey from three people trying to adjust to a new living arrangement to a family that feels like it was always meant to be made this such a sweet and satisfying read.

Troy is a divorced firefighter and devoted father whose twenty-four-hour shifts make dependable childcare essential. After going through one sitter after another, he knows his six-year-old daughter needs someone who will actually stay. A live-in nanny seems like the perfect solution.

Christina needs a fresh start just as badly. She's come to Red Oak Mountain for a nanny position and a place to live after being priced out of her apartment. Neither expects their arrangement to become anything more than practical, but the attraction between Troy and Christina is immediate.

Unfortunately for Troy, falling for his daughter's nanny is one fire he is determined not to touch.

What I especially appreciated was that the story doesn't make Bella instantly thrilled about having Christina move into her home. This little girl has watched other caregivers come and go, so it makes sense that she's hesitant to become attached to someone new. Bella actually behaves like a six-year-old rather than a miniature adult who conveniently understands everything happening around her. It made watching Christina patiently earn her trust even sweeter.

And apparently, pancakes can solve quite a few problems!

As Troy watches Christina slowly win Bella over, his own feelings become impossible to ignore. He's attracted to her from the beginning, but it's seeing Christina with his daughter that really changes things. She isn't simply making his childcare situation easier. She's bringing warmth and stability into their lives and making his house feel like a home again.

I also loved that Troy tries to respect the employer-employee boundary even when every instinct is telling him Christina belongs with him. Of course, there's only so long that determination can survive forced proximity and serious chemistry—and when it finally gives way, these two definitely bring plenty of heat to a firefighter romance!

Burning For The Single Dad Firefighter is a heartwarming blend of sweet and steamy with instalove, forced proximity, an age gap, a protective firefighter, a curvy live-in nanny, and an adorable little girl who has just as much at stake as the adults. Troy and Christina may fall for each other quickly, but it's watching Christina become part of Bella's life that makes their HEA feel like something bigger than a romance.

Christina came to Red Oak Mountain needing a job and a place to stay. She ended up finding a little girl who needed someone she could trust and a man who realized the woman he'd invited into his house was exactly who he wanted in his future. I can't wait to see which Red Oak Mountain firefighter falls next!.

Burning For The Single Dad Firefighter by Lily Birch is the second title in the Red Oak Mountain Firefighters series and it was an enjoyable short read.
As a steamy, instalove, small town, forced proximity, single dad, nanny, firefighter romance, the plot and storyline follows Troy, a firefighter and single dad to his six year old daughter Bella and, Christina, the new live-in nanny.
Christina is new to Red Oak Mountain after losing her job and apartment but fortuitously comes across the nanny position and relishes the chance to start over and rebuild her self confidence that was knocked in a past relationship and toxic work environment.
This short cosy story has the right amount of chemistry, steam, and found family feels and just a little drama to keep you hooked right to the end as Troy navigates his attraction to the new nanny and Christina finds her feet with her new charge Bellla whilst reigning in her own growing feelings for her boss.
The emotion, connection and spice in this story were great as Troy and Christina carefully explore a possible relationship whilst ensuring that Bella is protected from hurt and disappointment.
Overall, an entertaining story ideal for a break-time read with a well deserved and satisfying HEA.

Genre & Tropes - Nanny
Setting - Firefighter's home
Appropriate Age - 16+ for sexual situations
POV - dual

Best suited for fans who like short quick romances that are believable and have authentic challenges and that real emotion comes before the steam starts.

Story **** World ***
Main Characters *** Side Characters ***
Moving ** Reader Frustration 0
Slow burn ** Steam ***
Humor **
Ending ****

Cons
- The 2 seconds of conflict was a good show of their relationship and how amazing he is but it was also not really a conflict. Not sure it is really a con but the closest I could come up with one.

Pros
- The little girl was adorable without being fake and smart without being know it all
- The difficulty of moving on emotionally from what they went through comes through
- He is so authentic

I have read and reviewed her books before and this one was not one of her top ones due to the predictability and normalness(?) but one thing I always come back to is how she manages to create a steamy short story while still creating a love story that you feel and believe. This story was no exception and by the time they made it to the bedroom you already knew the connection was real.

Slimy needs a friend.
Incredible. Troy has been through more sitters and nannies than you could possibly imagine. They all left for other jobs or to return to school and the fact that they waited until his daughter, Bella, had gotten attached to them is hard to deal with. He hopes that this one has staying power. Christina needs this live-in nanny position to work out because she has nowhere else to live and she’s used all her savings in the last year just trying to survive. She could no longer afford her rent after it almost doubled. She knows that she’s in trouble the second he opens the door. She obviously affects him, too because he just stares at her for a couple minutes speechless. After a month of dancing around the flying sparks between them they agree to take things slowly. Everything is going so well that Troy introduces her as his girlfriend to his crew. Christina lets something slip as she’s talking to Bella when they pick her up from camp and Troy asks her about it. Tensions rise as he learns that she excluded some information from her resume’.

Finally Opening his Heart to Love and Happiness -
Christina and Troy’s relationship was meant to be a hands off professional relationship, but the sparks between them was ignited from the moment they met and led to stolen kisses, innocent touches and ultimately a mind blowing steamy encounter. Unfortunately, Christina and Troy’s budding romance was nearly derailed because of a misunderstanding and they insecurities, but they were able to resolve the issue and finally acknowledge they wanted to build a life together.

This was heartwarming insta-love, small-town romance with a gorgeous curvy girl and a swoonworthy firefighter, single dad, that had me totally immersed from the beginning and kept me engrossed all the way until I read the final word. If you are looking for a feel-good page turner with a precocious little girl, that will keep you entertained for a few hours, then look no further than this book.

This is book two in Lily’s ‘Red Oak Mountain Firefighters’ series where we meet single Dad Troy who’s struggling to find someone permanent to look after his daughter whilst he’s working. Christina has years of professional childcare experience although when they meet on Christina’s first day as Bella’s live-in nanny, neither are having very professional thoughts. Their attraction is instant but both know they shouldn’t cross that line because Bella is the priority. As Christina settles in and they become far too comfortable with each other, they start to rethink that line as the spark that caught on day one is building into an inferno of need and desire. When his turnout coat finally hits the floor, Troy’s spicy side comes alive and Christina is more than happy to fan their flames. This story is a perfect mix of cute fun with Bella and lingering and pulsing chemistry between Troy and Christina – a fire hazard of short read to escape into.

Burning For The Single Dad Firefighter by Lily Birch is a fun, quick romance! I loved the combination of a protective single dad firefighter and the nanny who brings a little warmth and excitement into his life. The small-town setting gives the story a cozy feel, while the chemistry between the main characters keeps things hot. The relationship develops with plenty of attraction, tender moments, and that irresistible “can’t stay away from each other” feeling. I especially enjoyed seeing the softer side of the hero as a dad, which added an extra layer to his character. This is a great choice if you enjoy firefighter heroes, single-dad romances, nanny tropes, insta-attraction, and steamy small-town love stories. Overall, Burning For The Single Dad Firefighter was a sweet and enjoyable read with plenty of chemistry and a satisfying romance!

A steamy addition to the Red Oak Mountain Firefighters series. This time is Troy and Christina's love story,

Troy is a divorced firefighter who needs a nanny to take care of his Bella, after babysitters are not enough to deal with his schedule demands. Christina is hired to be a live in nanny after losing her job at a private school due to a conflict with authority,

When they meet there is a mutual attraction between the adults, but it is Bella who is the one harder to reach at the start. The close proximity and her bubbly personality start to break into Troy's defenses, especially when he sees that she is good for her kid and she is warmin up to her new nanny. They passion is hot, steamy and consuming and leads them to form a relationship even when he finds out the details of her previous employment
A great read!.

Christina took the job as a nanny to Troy's snail obsessed six-year-old daughter Bella, after her last job ended on sour terms. Christina has been in child care for many years so she immediately understands Bella’s cold, reserved demeanor from the beginning. Troy is raising his daughter alone after his ex left. Between babysitters, friends and nannies, Troy is at the end of his rope. All he wants is someone to care for his daughter during his shifts. When Christina arrives she single handedly begins to knock down every single wall he’s built around his heart without even trying. This is only book two of the Red Oak Mountain Firefighters series by Lily Birch and I already can’t get enough. I can’t wait to read Drew’s story next in Burning for the Silver Fox Firefighter. Fingers crossed it’ll be hotter than books one and two.

Christina came to Red Oak Mountain looking for a job and a place to stay. Luckily for her, she became a nanny to a wonderful child who was, at first, leery of her since all the other nannies left. But Christina not only won Bella’s heart but also Troy’s. When they first met, it was instalove but Troy didn’t want to cross that line of employer and employee. As he watched Christina win Bella’s heart, he knew she was meant to be in that family. Join them as they work together to become a loving family. This was a heart-warming story tugging at your heart hoping all would work out. The characters were outstanding and the storyline will not disappoint! Highly recommend.

Holy Hotness! The Red Oak Mountain Firefighters series is quickly becoming a must read favorite. It's hot, sexy, and filled with the most loveable characters.

Burning For the Single Dad Firefighter was a fantastic insta-love romance between Troy and Christina. We met Troy briefly in the previous novella. He's struggling with finding a nanny for his adorable daughter. Christina answers his newest ad and it's sparks at first sight. I loved them together. Both characters are strong in their own right. What I loved most about them was the corny one-liners coming from Troy. They had me groaning and giggling the whole time. So good!!

I hope this is a very long series because I cannot get enough.

When three(and Slimy🐌) make a family

Sweet with steam along with a realistic take on how to blend someone new into your life. Divorced firefighter Troy desperately needs a nanny and Christina needs a new position. It takes some time and understanding (along with pancakes 🥞) to get his daughter Bella on board and I loved how the relationship isn’t sugar coated and Bella acts her age instead of a mini adult like in some single Dad books. Not to mention the hallway where if my kindle had real pages - well there would be a fire risk🥰.

Christina takes the job of being a nanny for Troy's little girl. There is something special about this little girl that has had nanny's non - stop leave. She has a hard time getting attached to new people now. There was instant chemistry between Troy and Christina and made for a really good read. Throw in a super cute little girl who is adorable with her favourite stuffy snail. This is a fast easy read, and you can't help laughing and enjoying your way through the read!!! This is a must read!!! Lily has definitely hit it out of the park with this new series. They keep getting better and better.

Burning For The Single Dad Firefighter was such an engaging read from start to finish. I loved the connection and love between the father (Troy) and his daughter (Bella). Their charming relationship and personalities just jumped off the page for this reader. I also really enjoyed Christina(nanny). She brought a completion to Troy and Bella. The patience and care she provided, even though she was doubted by Bella, really made the sweet journey a learning curve for each of them. Burning For The Single Dad Firefighter is part of the Red Oak Mountain Firefighters series by Lily Birch and highly recommended.

This is a slow(ish) burn romance between the single dad and his nanny. Taboo in the moral sense, but oh so right for this couple. Bella, the little girl who needs the nanny, is just too adorable. I love that she didn't instantly fall for Christina but made her work to earn her trust. I also loved that the daughter was kept as a main focal point to the story as too often in single dad it's just a mention that there are kids and they aren't seen on page. Bella plays a very important role in this story, just as she did in the first book too. Looking forward to hopefully seeing her in future stories as well.

Troy is a firefighter that has had several babysitters that have not worked out because of the hours that firefighter must work. He put in an ad for a nanny to try and get some kind of normalcy for his daughter Bella. The minute they meet Troy is drawn to her but he is trying not to get close because he has built his walls thick from a relationship for any woman. The more time Bella and Christina spend together Bella opens up and becomes the happy little girl she once was. While this is going on with Bella, we see Troy falls falling down. Can these three for a house full of love and joy? The flames just fan higher with every page.

Christina moved to Red Oak mountain for a nanny position. Troy had been through a lot of nannies and needed something stable for Bella. It didn’t take long for their attraction to develop into something more. They had some wrinkles along the way but this proved to be a lot more than a fling with the nanny. This was a fantastic read and great follow up to the first book in this series. Can’t wait to see what happens in the fire station next.

Troy is desperate for a nanny for his small daughter. There have been nine nannies who didn't work, and now Christina is there for the job. She didn't expect such an attractive man when the door to the house opened. I guess you could say she was struck dumb. Troy was just as surprised as she was. And while caring for his little girl, Christina begins to fall in love with Troy, and he with her. I love this story! The steam is great, and it is low drama with the perfect happy ending.

New start. With no job and not enough money to keep affording rent, taking a job as a live-in nanny seemed like the perfect solution. As a divorced firefighter, with a six year old and a revolving door for childcare the hope that a live-in nanny would work. A sweet story about a new start for a whole family and learning to live together for the benefit of all. Pretty predictable but the title kind of gave it all away. Sometimes predictable is the best way to get to the HEA.

Christina is going to be Troy's daughter's nanny, Bella is six. Trouble is when Christina sees Troy she's immediately assailed with deep feelings for him, but he's her boss and she needs this job, she hasn't been completely honest, she's hiding a secret.
Troy also has feelings for her but is wary after his divorce and the amount of nannies that he has had for Bella.

I was so excited for Troy to get his HEA! I had been hoping his story was next, especially since his daughter was trying to marry him off to his best friends fiancee. I won't say anymore about that, you need to read to find out more. The chemistry between Troy and Christina is so obvious and she is perfect for him and his daughter. I loved, loved their HEA!.

Troy and Christina are a great match in this loving novella. Sweet little 6 yr old Bella adds the perfect touch to their family dynamic. As sweet as this story is - it’s the stuffed snail “Slimy” that really stood out for me. He’s the center of everything and truly brings the story full circle. Great concept.

This was a great book! They felt an instant connection but both felt that there couldn't be anything between them because she is his daughter's nanny. However, over time the connection became too strong to resist. Will they live HEA or will his daughter lose another nanny when things don't work out?.

As a fan of the Single Dad Trope-i was amazed. The way Troy is written as this dad, that would do anything for his daughter is just heartwarming.

Christina is fitting 100% into the Dad-Daughter Duo. The connection she builds with Bella is just well written, but also shows that sometimes just being there is enough.

Enjoyable read. The FMC is hired to be a firefighters nanny. She quit her last job for professional differences and her former boss bad mouthed her. The MMC is the firefighter needing a nanny. There’s instant attraction that they both fight because he’s her employer. The spice is good and the HEA is great.

Sizzle and crackle

Burning For The Single Dad Firefighter is the second book in the Red Oak Mountain Firefighters series by Lily Birch. This is a sizzling hot, single-dad/nanny romance between Christina and Troy. The story is fast-paced but still complete. This was a very enjoyable read and a great way to spend a couple of hours.
