When I Accidentally Summoned A Demon
Emily Shore
5 Stars

Format: eBook
Genre: Dark Monster RomCom

Vesper Larson is a single mum, Crystal shop owner, and former seminary student who accidentally binds herself to a demon. But there are worse things than a seven-foot, horned Prince of Thieves who gets her hotter than hellfire. At first, Valefar seems like a problem. Then he starts reading bedtime stories to Bethie, her toddler. Watching cartoons with her. Letting her paint his horns while proudly claiming his tail as her personal toy. While Vesper expected a monster from Hell, she finds herself falling dangerously hard for the big guy. Unfortunately, Lucifer wants his demon back. And soon Vesper and Valefar are fighting shadow demons in her kitchen, grave robbing in underground crypts, and doing whatever it takes to stay together.

This was a cute, cozy, and funny story. Lots of spice. Lots of cute moments. Lots of Pop Culture references. If you love monster romance, give this one a try. The period scene was not for me though lol.

This was a lot of fun to read!

Vesper is a single mom, divorced and raising her daughter, Bethie, and a little tired of dealing with her manipulative ex for supervised custody visits and his failure to pay child support. While out in the woods playing around with a spell that will hopefully take care of the ex problem, she ends up summoning a demon named Valefar.

This had some very funny moments and some great banter. I always love the whole fish-out-of-water shtick, and watching Valefar learning how to operate in the living/human world was enjoyable. I cracked up every time he offers/asks Vesper if he can torture/destroy people that annoy her. Valefar may be 7 feet of ripped muscle with glowing eyes and terrifying claws but he has it down bad for Vesper and her daughter and it’s oh so sweet.

Vale and Vesper are a cute couple. The way Vale melts for Bethie is adorable. This book is one I would re-read.

4.5/5⭐
3-3.5/5🌶

There is blood & gore, explicit sexual scenes, religious aspects/trauma, mentions of domestic violence, mention of forced sodomy (mentioned once by FMC), emotional & mental abuse from a parent, mentions of cheating(not by the MMC), alcohol abuse, & gambling addiction.

The dedication is everything!! "To the Seminary to the Smut Pipeline. Who knew religious trauma would lead to demon dick, tail play, a crystal used for something other than its intended purpose, and one hell of a book boyfriend?" He is definitely a great book boyfriend (like normal, I'm jealous).

Vesper (FMC) is a single mother (her daughter is the freakin bee's knees!) who has turned from the church and has embraced her witchy/wiccan tendencies (as a pagan/witch, I love this so much). She was trying to essentially banish her ex husband (he's a POS) from her life but instead summoned a 7ft tall golden retriever of a demon. He is so precious and must be protected at all costs!! He reminded me of a man off of Tiktok so much (@carloandsarah , iykyk) & I immediately swooned. He calls her beastie😭 & calls Vesper's daughter, Bethie, little beastie😭. He is everything she didn't know she needed. She is dealing with an overbearing & controlling mother on top of dealing with her abusive, narcissistic ex husband. Her daughter, Bethie, is the greatest toddler, ever (allegedly, but I would have to concur).

Valefar/Vale (MMC) is a 7ft demon who has never felt normal emotions/feelings or been in the human realm. He thought he was dying when he became aroused!😂 He said (thought actually) 'I don't know if I should be terrified of this pretty beastie or bewitched. But something is happening.' He's so adorable. Something else he said, which I highlighted it on my Kindle, 'She moves like a monstrous poem-all sensual curves and a fluid, dangerous grace.' I loved that so much! The things he said, did, thought, had me kicking my feet & giggling. Most of his dialog had me cracking up!

Everything about this book was great. The plot was good & I really liked the absence of the 'insta-love', the timeline was very well laid out & flowed so well. The spice is spicin & pretty tasteful (some of the best spice I've read recently). READ IT!! YOU WON'T REGRET IT!!

😈 single mom FMC
😈 high spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
😈 small town cozy vibes
😈 dark paranormal romcom
😈 green flag romance
😈 obsessed devoted MMC
😈 no angst, low stakes

This was such a cute and fun ride, with so much hot spice my kindle almost went up in flames 🔥

Vesper (31) single mom with a witchy store and a cozy cottage on the edge of the woods accidentally summons Valefar, demon from hell, saving him from an execution and unwittingly beginning the sweetest romance.

Valefar was amazing. Earnest, dark (in that “I’m from hell” way) but so incredibly innocent as well. He’s instantly devoted to Vesper and Bethie, Vesper’s toddler. I absolutely loved seeing him learn about the mortal world, things like Friends and Children’s books and toasters. This was definitely romcom in the antics, Valefar was hilarious in his suspicion of mundane things, and I cackled watching him acclimate to life here.

He was also incredibly romantic and it read super authentic. He can’t lie, but he also isn’t manipulative or coercive. He is earnest, honest, and says what he’s feeling. It was refreshing for an MMC. His devotion to Vesper was perfect, but it was his interactions and relationship with Bethie that stole the show for me honestly. The two of them were dynamite, and I teared up multiple times reading their bond.

Vesper was a sweet FMC, strong and resilient and hilarious. A good mom. She took everything in stride and instead of freaking out about the 7’ demon now occupying her house, she embraced the crazy and made him a part of their lives. Their romance was so sweet and fun and their chemistry was explosive.

The spice was high and hot. Almost dare I say too much? Ok, let’s not get carried away 😏 BUT… a few scenes felt a tad over the top… like my girl would need a hot soak a two ibuprofen (and maybe a few days rest) before she could go again. Make it hot but make it real lol. I was sore for her and found myself cringing in empathetic pain for her a couple times lol.

This was well written, well edited, and easy to read. At times it felt a tad repetitive or wordy, like maybe the page count could have been trimmed a bit for a tighter, more concise read, but that’s my only real complaint. I’ll definitely be checking out more of the author’s work.

Thank you to Emily Shore for the ARC. I'm leaving this review voluntarily.

I went into this one expecting a dark monster romcom, and while there are definitely some darker themes, this is much more fun and spicy than dark. Definitely check the trigger warnings before jumping in, but if you're looking for something a little ridiculous, a lot spicy, and surprisingly sweet, this one delivers.

Vesper accidentally summoning a seven-foot demon prince is already a pretty great setup, but Valefar was what really sold this book for me. This giant, terrifying demon basically turns into the biggest softie once he meets Vesper and her daughter. Watching him bond with Bethie was honestly adorable, and I loved how quickly this became a story about the three of them figuring out what family looks like.

I also really liked Vesper. She doesn't judge Valefar based on what he's supposed to be; she pays attention to who he actually is. There are some really good moments throughout the book about choosing your own family, standing up for yourself, and recognizing that the people society tells you are "good" aren't always the good guys.

And then there's the spice. 🥵 Let's just say Valefar is a demon for a reason. The spice gets HOT, and the book definitely earns that 🌶️ rating.

This was a really fun read for me. It has supernatural chaos, a demon who falls hard, a cute kid who basically adopts him, some genuinely darker moments, humor, and plenty of steam. It isn't the darkest monster romance I've read, but I don't think it's trying to be.

Overall, 4 stars for a spicy, weird, surprisingly heartfelt demon romcom. Sometimes you just need a seven-foot demon to show up and completely derail everyone's life. 😂

👹 Tropes:
🖤 Monster/demon romance
🔥 He falls first
👩‍👧 Single mom
🏡 Found family
😈 Dark themes
😂 Paranormal romcom
🌶️ High heat

• Received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review •

I went into this book expecting a cute, cozy, spicy read - much like book one of this series. Boy, oh boy was I pleasantly surprised. While containing its fair share of cute, cozy and no lack of spice 🔥🌶️ this book has a some very meaningful moments.

Seeing a demon from hell soften for a toddler has me in an ovary-tingling, heart melting stupor. Valefar’s pure desire for Vesper is addicting and his need to protect her and her daughter is admirable. The realization that your chosen family is above all else adds the perfect amount of conflict to the story.

Some moments that stood out to me:
“I will spend the rest of my existence, proving myself worthy of it. I will protect her. I will worship her. And give her every beautiful thing this cruel world denied her. Even if I have to drag heaven itself to her feet.”
“But when you’ve spent years forging yourself into a blade just to survive, and someone comes along who doesn’t try to dull you—he simply becomes the shield—you fight like hell to keep that shield.”
“Real monsters… Don’t have claws, glowing eyes, or a tail. Real monsters are human beings who hurt others while convincing themselves they’re morally superior for doing it. Real monsters go to church on Sunday, then spend the rest of the week weaponizing fear and cruelty while calling in love.”
“But you don’t respect me. And you don’t respect my boundaries. As long as those things are true, you cannot fully love me—because love without respect is just ownership with better intentions.”
“”He’s mine,” I define. “And I love him.” It’s not a brave statement. Truth doesn’t need courage to exist. It just needs to be expressed.”

I received this book as an advance reader copy, and this is my honest review.

Let me tell y'all something, this book definitely blew me away! I thought this was just going to be a cute little smutty read (which it most definitely was) but I was NOT prepared for the way she got me in my feels during certain parts of this book. 😭 Valefar is certifiably a consent king and green flag book boyfriend. 💚

This whole book is quotable but my two favorites are:

" Your name means Evening Star. For centuries, I belonged to the Morning Star and believed nothing in creation could eclipse him. Then you summoned me and ruined all other lights for me. My Mistress. My Beastie. My Star. Call for me in any language, in any lifetime, and I will come."

and

"I am immortal; my existence is measured in geological epochs. Vesper is a brilliant, warm mortal spark who will eventually gutter and fade. A thousand lifetimes would still not be enough to satisfy my devotion, yet I will gladly spend this one beside her as long as she desires."

The way this man can speak such beautiful poetry and dirty filth from the same mouth makes him so sinfully delicious. I couldn't help but fall more in love with his adorable naivety of human customs and his willingness to embrace his found family with Vesper and Bethie without hesitation. The yearning and devotion he showed to Vesper is the kind of love I hope will find me one day. 🥹🫶🏽

I want to thank Emily for the advanced copy of this title to review in my own words.

The main female character, Vesper, is a single mother to Bethie, a crystal shop owner and a former seminary student who is in an ugly custody battle with her ex who’s a gambling drunk.

She begins spell work and accidentally summons a demon, Valefar who is as softer than they come. He was to be executed by Lucifer, but her spell took him away from that. He’s definitely head over heels for Vesper and her daughter. He starts off as seeming like a problem for Vesper, but she soon learns he’s just a soft hearted demon and she begins falling for him hard. Watching him interact with Bethie, watching her favorite cartoons, painting his demon horns, and even allowing her to claim his tail as her own little toy.

Vesper and Valefar do everything imaginable to stay together, while Lucifer is trying to bring him back to hell. From grave robbing in crypts to fighting off demons in her kitchen, this story gives us everything from spice to humor and I lived for it.

It took me a bit longer to read than what I wanted, but I’m human and have crazy children who wanted my attention everytime I got into it. But I’m very grateful for the read and enjoyed every page of it.

There were some scenes that may catch people off guard, so I highly recommend reading your triggers and enjoy it like the cute monster romcom it is!

When I Accidentally Summoned a Demon (Accidentally Yours Book 2)
Emily Shore

‼️ CHECK TRIGGER WARNINGS ‼️
⚠️⚠️⚠️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️🌶️

😈I know, with absolute clarity, both horrifying and beautiful: I have found a new religion. Vesper Larson has done the unthinkable, the impossible for a condemned creature of hell. She has made me see God. 😈~Valefar

😈He’s mine. I feel it in my bones—a shocking, soul-deep ownership that’s only gotten stronger since we…well, since last night. As long as he continues to be a good big boy, I’m keeping him.😈~Vesper

Vesper, Vale, and the “little beastie” completely stole my heart. Who would’ve guessed that accidentally summoning a demon Duke from hell could turn out to be the best thing ever? And honestly, who knew a demon could be so poetically romantic? Valefar will have you swooning. His connection with Vesper is instant, electric, and scorching hot.

Then Bethie: our adorable little beastie—enters the picture, and its pure cuteness overload. Together, they become the most "pwecious" little family.

If you’re craving a dark rom‑com packed with sharp banter, a sexy demon who watches Friends and treats his woman like absolute royalty, this book is a must‑read. I couldn’t recommend it more, and I know you’ll love it just as much as I did.

I received the book as an arc from the author!
I am rating this book 5 stars. This is my god tier 5 star book!!!
Favorite characters: All of the little family
Favorite quotes: All of it! The entire book!!! I will give just one though as this is an arc read.
“A great rule exists in this dwelling. An almighty commandment. Thou shalt not wake the offspring.”
Summary:
This book is about a woman named Vesper who is trying out spells in a book, one of the spells accidentally summons a demon who changes their lives and becomes a nonnegotiable figure in her and her daughters life.

Review:
This book was objectively perfect! I didn’t want to put it down. Every chance I got, I picked it up. The writing style was amazing. It flowed so smoothly and was so easy to read. The characters were glorious. The chemistry between everyone was amazing. The spice was spicy and not too much. The end was beautiful and brought me to tears. I will indeed need to buy a physical copy when this comes out so I can give it to everyone and ask them to read it. Consider all books by this author added to my TBR. This book was breathtaking!!! It was the perfect little romcom with a super super lovable cinnamon roll demon.

I officially want a demon boyfriend of my own now!

The absolute love I have for this story is almost too much to put into words. I was so honored to receive this as an advanced copy, and it is the best one I have read to date. The story that the author gives us of Ves and Vale is absolutely messily perfect. From the unique way they meet, to Vale's introduction to daily life, and of course, we can't forget baby Bethie (who I instantly loved, as my daughter shares the same nickname), making her star performance also. I felt like I was able to so easily connect with the characters, and this was one of those books that left me waking up the next morning already thinking about it and wanting to finish it!

The character list was tight and allowed for easy reading without needing a list of who was who. To add, each character fulfilled the perfect amount in the story. There was enough tension outside of their relationship to keep me interested and wanting to keep reading. I don't like to give spoilers, but the spice was SPICING in this book too, and I loved that. Five chili peppers across the board.

The author hit it completely out of the park on this one, and I cannot WAIT to read more of her books now!

This is absolutely one of those books you won't put down once you've picked it up. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Vespar is going through a custody battle with ex and which leads her to excessive spell work. One particular spell accidentally summons a demon, which in turn changes her life. This is where Valefar comes in, and you will absolutely love him. Although there will be the tiny issue of that summoning keeping him from his execution in hell. You get to read a bond forming between the two, while darkness lurks in the corner. There is no fluff in these pages. The spice was spicing. Laughs were had. Battles were fought. This read is absolutely worth the time it'll take you to devour it.

“I understand and agree to your command, pretty beastie.”

“You taste like sin dressed up in something holy,”

"...whatever world you carry me into— I am already the one who follows.

“You taste like a goddess powerful enough to make a demon pray.”

"...love without respect is just ownership with better intentions.”

"If my life began in darkness but ends preserving your light, my Evening Star, then I was never born in vain."

WOW!!! What a book!! I LOVED it!! 💜

This book had story 📖… it had plot … it had spice 🌶️ … it had me laughing 🤣 out loud! It was heartwarming and strong with a fierce FMC and a Demon who was soft as putty!!

Vesper had some rough times with their ex, but she didn’t let that define who she was!! she got back up fought 🥊 for herself - put up strong barriers and devoted 🥰 herself to her daughter … She is an amazing character with a strength from resilience that shines ✨ through!!

Valfar is a Demon 😈 He has fought many battles and delivered many punishments!! his big and bold, strong and mighty but most of all his fiercely protective, especially when he finds 🖤 love!!

Their chemistry 💋 together is instant … he falls hard and fast for both Vesper and Bethie!! there is nothing he will not do for them!! he learns the way of the modern world through children’s books & Netflix … not forgetting the Smut 🌶️ he reads that makes their chemistry explode!! 💥

I thoroughly recommend reading this book!! 📕 you will not be disappointed!!

Thank you so much for the arc opportunity!

!! Always check the trigger warnings, before reading!!

Quote: “Pwecious”

I didn’t exactly thought of a demon in this way.

I expected a dark and evil creature but we got a sweet and heartbreaking “big guy”. The story is very well written and easy to get lost in. I read this book in a couple of hours spread over 2 days because life is also there.

I mostly read dark romance and even darker but this dark demon romcom was really nice to read
between books. It is a great and beautiful love story for the both of them.

Vesper is a single mom with a daughter Bethie. She has her own shop and a drinking and gambling ex. She is hard working.

Valefar is a demon from hell. He is a very big guy who was about to be excuted by Lucifer but was summoned by accident by Vesper. He is really sweet and learns very fast.

I really enjoyed and sometimes had to laugh about Valefar. There is nothing dark and dangerous about him. He just gives very sweet and loving vibes. I truly liked the ending of this great story. There is very much spice in this book.

I definitely need more sweet demons like Valefar in my life🥺💕
So not only is this a deliciously steamy romance, no you also had to make me melt with those precious moments with Bethie, Vesper‘s tiny twin.😭 It‘s so easy to fall for those two and the little one!
When you summon an inexperienced demon and guide him through his ache, realizing he‘s a fast learner and now you are both equally addicted to each other ugh. I also need to point out how they are a consent king and queen and it makes this whole relationship even more beautiful!! There really is nothing better than an MMC who is kind, curious and eager to learn and please!

When I Accidentally Summoned a Demon had me equally excited and kicking my feet. My heart really felt content and warm.

And just because this moment had me gasping, these quotes from Valefar:
« Is it time for…worship? »
« May I worship first this time? »

The tenderness and respect they show each other and the teasing, yes a hundred times yes!

I can really recommend this story to my demon lovers who enjoy the first time trope and who just want to feel all that soft love!

Thank you so much Emily Shore for this beautiful story and ARC.🥹💕

Wow. How am I only just finding Emily Shore and her works?!

I had the extreme pleasure of receiving When I Accidentally Summoned a Demon as an advanced read copy and couldn't be more pleased! I will say, for anyone who has issue with witches, Hell, demons, etc, don't pick up this book. (The title alone should be your warning!!) I have seen so many books get bad reviews when a reader acts like they didn't know what the book was about... Those crappy reviews should go burn somewhere...
Anywho... Valefar & Vesper are so adorable. Vesper tried to rid herself of a nuisance ex with a banishing spell. Instead, she summoned Valefar (aka Vale). Their connection was immediate. His heart for her and her daughter, Bethie, would make an ice-cold heart melt!
They end up needing to contend with the ex, Vesper's mother, and Lucifer over the course of the pages. Throw in some steamy chapters of Vale absolutely worshipping Ves and you've got a complete book front to back.

Plot: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

I had received this arc, but was in the middle of a dark series. So when I finished i needed something a bit different and this is the perfect book it was both a dark but also lighthearted. I loved the characters it was so well written as most Emily shore books are I like this series that she's currently doing, both her dark books and these books with dark themes but also a romcom. Vesper is a character who judges people by there actions and not what society dictates, she was brought up in the church but studies demons in her spare time and grew to become a pagan, when she accidentally summons a duke from hell she doesn't judge him she helps him and falls in love with him she protects him and trusts him with her daughter. When vale is summoned by vesper he doesn't understand but he feels a feather to her he calls her his beastie and worships her he falls in love with both vesper and her daughter his little beastie. It's a lovely story about found family and I loved it

Valefar was such a hilarious and heartwarming character-him trying to understand how mortals behave and what simple objects were brought a lightheartedness and so much fun to the story. (The Friends and Beauty and the Beast comments made me actually laugh out loud, like literally.)

His love for Mistress, i.e. Vesper and Little Beastie, i.e. Bethie was too pure for words- especially since he was a Duke of Hell! Seeing a massive demon interacting so delicately was too precious (pun intended lol)

I really appreciate Vesper's take-no-shit anymore mentality, it was refreshing from the previous MFC's I read this month. She's a badass mom but still exists in her own right!

And the spice was soooo there! Had to give that it's flowers because the crypt scene was too delicious!

So grateful to have received an ARC even thought I couldn't finish it before it released. I will always read whatever Emily decides to publish- she slays both RomCom and Pitch Black equally!

Emily has knocked this out of the park..also going to need to know how i can get my own Valefar because he is yummy!! Vespers shop is my dream

Vesper is a single mum, a store owner and also a witch.
when a small leather-bound book comes in to Vespers Vessel she knew she needs to give it ago on a late june evening but she didn't expect the tall hood and tailed demon to turn up

Valefar Duke of Hell, living in the 4th circle of hell, until he's not now he must learn the way of humans until he can go back if he goes back

And then there is Bethie, Vespers toddler who likes to paint horns and read.

This book is spicy and funny in all the right places.
Emily's writing style brings you right into the story and keeps you captivated leading to late night reading and the spicy scenes are HOT!!!

3.5 stars.

When i accidentally summoned a demon is the second book in the accidentally yours series by Emily shore.

This was my first monster x human romance and i loved reading this one. It was funny, lighthearted, and adventurous.

Emily writes romance that makes you swoon, and laugh out loud.

This was lighthearted for me and i liked vale more than i thought.
Valefar is innocent and soft hearted, but also quite protective and possessive and so is vesper, she’s fiercely protective and possessive of her demon, this book is a quick read, even though it is 30 chapters, the single mom element makes it even better. Moms don’t tolerate bullshit and this book conveys that.

I liked this book, and this was my introduction to Emily shore as a new to me author and also monster romnaces, I am glad this book was my first. Gonna read more romances in this genre.

When I started When I Accidentally Summoned a Demon, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. It felt like it could get pretty dark, but I knew it was supposed to be a romcom, so I was curious how those two things were going to work together.

Emily Shore did such a good job balancing the lighter, funnier moments with the darker elements of the story. And yes, it was STEAMY. It definitely did not disappoint on the spice scale.

But that ending? So well deserved. Everything wrapped up so perfectly that it felt like one of those rare endings where every question is answered and everything is tied up in a bow. No loose ends, no “wait, but what about…” Just a very satisfying full-circle ending.

I really enjoyed this one.

This was a 3.5-star read for me, and honestly, it was just a fun read.

A demon becoming completely mesmerized by a mortal? I'm listening. Add in the rom-com elements, the spice, and all the fun paranormal romance vibes, and this was an entertaining read from start to finish.

The pacing was another plus for me. It's fast-paced, easy to get into, and doesn't drag, so I flew through it pretty quickly.

If you're into paranormal rom-coms with demons, spice, humor, and a little chaos, I think this will be right up your alley. This is definitely the kind of book where, if the genre is your thing, you'll be hooked from start to finish.

★★★½☆ — Fun, spicy, fast-paced, and exactly the kind of paranormal rom-com you pick up when you want a good time.

This was such a fun book! I could relate to Vesper as a single mom waiting to meet the love of her life. Luckily for me, I didn't have to summon a demon to find mine... but that could have been a fun adventure! 😈

The way Vale was wrapped around Bethie's finger, and how he would do anything for that little girl was so swoonworthy! I loved reading about their interactions.

The heat between Vesper and Vale was terrific! 🔥🔥 Ves found her someone that gave her the love and attention that she deserved. Even if she didn't mean to summon him! They had great chemistry. I loved how Ves teased him and taught him life as a human.

It was such a sweet, heartwarming story, with a perfect amount of spice!

ARC Review ✨
4.25⭐️

This was a very well thought out book. While this book does start off with early in we still get that slow burn feel because we go on the journey of the MCs falling in love. This book is definitely spicy but there is a beautiful story with it. I absolutely love how the author showed how the MMC was able to go from being a Prince of Hell into a being that would sacrifice everything for the woman he loved. The FMC was a protector through and through and didn’t let any one harm those she loved. “Little beastie” IYKYK is definitely one of my favorite side characters and brings the chaos and love only a small child can to any story.

Thank you so much to Emily for the copy of this book! All thoughts and opinions are my own💜💜

A wonderful spicy demon and single Mom romance.

A fierce woman who would do anything for her child.

Just one problem, a loser for an ex. So she tries to summon help. She gets a demon.

She teaches him plenty things about se*.

His first reaction about her child cries, is exactly how it seems, torture.

But then her child has him wrapped around her little finger. He reads to her, is protective her, lets her paint him and plays with his tail.

Soon they are both falling for each other and willing to fight anything to keep this family.

Hilarious what she does to Lucifer.

I cried when the demon was taken. I hardly cry.

I was given an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving a review.

I want to read more books from this author

I read When I Accidentally Summoned a Demon in a day. Fell in love with a big, horned, grade A demon, and a smart, strong, loving mom, and while I did that, they fell in love with each other.
And OMG it is sweet sweet hot Thai chili! I love Vale and his demonic innocence, and Vas and her Pagen single-mom energy.
All this and "good boy" and "mistress"? And it's hilarious? My romance catnip!
The writing is hilarious, with Legos, Friends, and The Runaway Bunny becoming vessels of great philosophical and cultural reference. And the villain is Lucifer Morningstar? Yes, please!
Highly recommend to those looking for Paranormal Romcoms, tips on boundary setting, Halloween adjacent stories and a huge Demon who finds his way.

This book was extremely well written. The writing I thoroughly enjoyed. The use of description and vocabulary was perfection. The banter and just devotion of the MMC was chef's kiss
The book is paced in a way that things move relatively quickly but not in a bad way. This helped so as to not get bored and just no mid point slow spells. The overall witchyness was truly sweet and sprinkled in very delicately. The resolution was also something unexpected and how they got there which I highly appreciate in an author and book. Hands down recommend especially for the "Mistress" calling and tail play alone. My all time favorite quote was "Funny how life strips the lace off your collar." As a previous conservative Christian the witchyness and slight church trauma was Chef's kiss.

I just got this book from the author yesterday and let me just say binge worthy. I loved that he was completely smitten with her and her little girl bethie and the fact that bethie can see things that her mom couldn’t just gave us a hint of her abilities at a young age. I am hoping for a book of bethie all grown up. But let me just say i wish i had my own prince of thieves with a tail like that. I also loved the main character vesper she was spicy with humor and protective bone. Cannot believe she did what she did to at the end to get her man. Didn’t want to spoil the scene for others but hands job to the author for a great spicy reader.
