Fallout is probably one of the deepest game franchises out there in terms of story. I'm a fan so I'll admit I'm a little biased. Still, I can recommend this as an entertaining read.
Ms. Reid doesn't really go into detail on the events that led to the destruction of the planet, so some of the backstory might be lost on readers unfamiliar with the world of Fallout. However this isn't inherently a bad thing, since it could work as an introduction to the series. The lore is light, wasting no time and the action is very quick, almost paced like an actual video game would be.
Pick this up if you're a fan of the series (particularly Fallout 3) or are interested in a first glance that captures the spirit of the games.
