Michelle is still trying to wrap her head around the fact that her dorky high school boyfriend is now a billionaire business mogul. They had been in love at one point, but Michelle, determined to get out of Miami and away from her parent's own train wreck of a marriage, had let her disappointment with her parents interfere with the future Levi had wanted with her.
Now over a decade later, Levi was back in her life, as her boss. Determined to not admit the mistake she made all those years ago, she resists his attempts to start over. But Michelle finds that when you truly love someone, there is no starting over: Levi always had her heart, now she just needs to decide if she'll surrender to his love or let the bitterness of their past failed relationship stop her from finding her own happily ever after.
A former couple who were deeply in love 10 years ago run into each other again after a chance encounter. They obviously still have deep feelings for each other. It gradually becomes known that Michelle, the heroine, is the one who suddenly ended their romance. Levi, the hero, makes valiant attempts to rekindle their romance but Michelle keeps rebuffing him. But they do reach their HEA. This is a novella, and could have been a very touching love story, but it deserved a full length format to fully develop a plot and the characters. Plus, if you enjoy some sex scenes in your romances, there are none in this book. The too-short format is why I only gave the book 3 stars.
