Shyla Colt is the sassy USA Today Bestselling author of the popular series Kings of Chaos and Dueling Devils M.C. This genre-hoppers stories feature three of her favorite things: strong females, pop culture, and alternate routes to happy ever after. Listening to her Romani soul, she pens from the heart, allowing the dynamic characters, eccentric interests, and travels as a former flight attendant to take her down untraveled roads.
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, this mid-west girl is proud of her roots. She used her hometown and the surrounding areas as a backdrop for a number of books. So, if you're a Buckeye, keep an eye out for familiar places.

As a full-time writer, stay at home mother, and wife, there's never a dull moment in her household.
She weaves her tales in spare moments and the evenings with a cup of coffee or tea at her side and the characters in her head for company.

This doesn't really have anything to do with the story itself, but the moment I started the book, I was greeted by a beautifully illustrated town map. Each chapter also opens with a delicate illustration that immediately creates a dreamy atmosphere. The subtle magical touch makes it feel even more special.

The story itself kept that wonderful feeling alive throughout. It's incredibly funny written and the author has a fantastic sense of humor. The cozy small-town vibe is always present, which I just loved. I also adored the quirky townspeople because each of them had their own distinct personality.

The story is told from both Phil's and Korren's perspectives and they couldn't be more different. Phil has no desire to return to Chance Falls, but when her father falls ill (and as an only child), she has no choice but to come back. Korren, on the other hand, deliberately chose to leave everything behind and escape to a small town. Both of them have deep, compelling backstories that unfold throughout the novel.

I always looked forward to their interactions. Phil is quite grumpy at first and honestly, I couldn't blame her. She has her reasons, but her personality is a huge part of what makes this book so charming. As for Korren, all I can say is that he's an absolute sweetheart.

I finished this book within 24 hours because it had so much to offer. As a reader, I honestly can't think of a bigger compliment than that. I wholeheartedly recommend reading it!

After fighting to escape her hometown, Phil finds herself back after a family emergency to take care of the family business. She encounters Korren, who is running to the small town in an effort to start fresh. While one is trying to run away from Chance Falls, the other is looking to plant roots.

I enjoyed reading this book. It was light-hearted and cute short read. While it is a little predictable, who doesn't enjoy a good love story?

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher, but all opinions are my own and this review is voluntary. Thank you to Booksirens and Shyla Colt.

This book was cute. That being said, it was predictable and the subject manner common. Im sure people will read it, but probably not rave over it. I hate to say this, but it's like the other thousands of predictable romance series. It definitely needed a little more content and plot to keep the reader's interest.

ARC received from BookSirens. 3 🌟 This was cute, a little bit insta-lovey and kinda predictable. It’s not a favourite of mine but if you like small town, sprinkled with little hints of magical realism and a dash of spice this might be for you.
