Como pode esse livro ter sido AINDA MELHOR na releitura? Eu genuinamente acho que nunca vou ser capaz de superar essa história e todas as camadas nela, amo o amor deles e toda a jornada até o final, coloquei 5 estrelas de nota aqui, mas com certeza é um livro que eu definiria como infinitas estrelas, leiam, leiam, leiam!!! 🥀🪦❤️🩹✨

I don't know what I expected with this book. But it was not this. I had heard that it was dark, but as times it was very heavy and romanticized rape and torture. I do not understand how there are so many high ratings for this book.
What I was extremely disappointed about was how repetitive the book was. Of course books often have repeated elements, however this was whole scenes for 1000 pages which was excruciating. I thought it would get better as I progressed through the parts but then the same scenes were just repeated. In Part One it was a scene and then I thought it was done when Part Two had a different scene but then that scene was repeated and the same happened for Part Three.
My experience reading this book is similar to how I felt reading the agonizing dialogue in the powerless series after reading books for AP Lit which I described as having sophistication. Books like Pride and Prejudice cannot be compared to stories like this. I cannot give this anything other than 2 stars.
I've rated this book with 1 star because it is clearly based upon something else. I won't lie that I was drawn to this because it was based on a Harry Potter fanfiction. I did not read that fanfiction and now I definitely do not want to. I was very disappointed, especially because this story relied on information that did not have a chance to be gathered through seven books. That lack of world building was very present throughout the story.
And 1000 pages? Seriously, that's at least the length of two books. There wasn't even a good climax that you would expect to see from a long story like this.
Regardless, this story was very disappointing and my least favorite story for a long time (and I read The Scarlet Letter and a government textbook that was less repetitive and more interesting last year).

Esse livro acabou com a minha vida.
Já faz um mês que terminei essa leitura e ainda não tinha feito uma resenha pq a sensação é de que não existem palavras pra explicar o que essa história é. Todos os dias, em algum momento, eu penso nesse livro e tenho uma emoção diferente.
Só não dei 5 estrelas pq o início dele, até realmente conseguir entender o que diabos tava acontecendo, foi muito maçante. O livro é enorme e dividido em três partes, poderia facilmente ter sido uma trilogia.
A primeira parte do livro narra um mundo pós guerra, e temos Helena Marino, uma alquimista, como protagonista. O problema é que ela perdeu a memória e não lembra de nada que aconteceu durante a guerra – só sabe que agora é uma prisioneira e tudo o que um dia ela conheceu já não existe mais. A história é extremamente intensa, muito pesada e, em alguns momentos, desesperadora. É um livro que precisa de persistência pq o começo é realmente angustiante e confuso.
A narrativa se passa em terceira pessoa, e pessoalmente não gosto muito disso, mas a autora conseguiu fazer fluir tão bem que não me incomodou em nenhum momento.
E o romance é slow – BEM SLOW – burn, e te faz querer rir, chorar, socar a parede, gritar. É devastador.
De fato, queria poder esquecer a história pra ler ele inteiro de novo pela primeira vez.
