Caige O’Donnell vows never to fall in love again after tragically losing Ciara Hudson, the love of his life . One night – that’s all they’ll ever get from him anymore. With his heart empty, he focuses all his energy on being the best firefighter he can be. Work is all he knows and cares about. No woman will ever compare to Ciara, so there’s no sense in trying. Until he meets Amanda. He then starts to question everything he has promised himself since Ciara’s death.
Amanda Stone was never one of the popular girls. Guys never noticed her and she was okay with that. She was too busy focusing on her career and making a name for herself. When she meets Caige, she knows she needs to stay far away from him – a manwhore is the last man she needs to get involved with. No matter how hard she tries to keep her feelings at bay for him, she can’t help but be drawn to him. She knows he has demons and wishes nothing more than to break through them and show him that he’s worth it.
Can Amanda’s love heal Caige’s wounds from his past? Will they overcome the obstacles thrown at them when the past rears its ugly head?
Steffy Rogers is a self-professed bookaholic who is fluent in English, German and Sarcasm. When she isn't working or going to school she spends her free time writing.
She makes a home in a college town in Georgia with her dog Karma and her cat Olaf. However, her heart belongs in Germany, where she lived for 20 years before returning to the USA.
Though her memories of Germany are blurry due to the delicious beer, she knows one day she will return home for good.
This is the third book in a series and can be read as a standalone, which is what I have done as I’m new to this author.
The novel deals with tough subject matters and really gets to the heart of the pain, confusion and despair.
“I never intended to fall for someone again and then you came along. You cast a spell on me the night I met you.”
Ten years earlier, Caige O’Donnell suffered a most horrific and traumatic loss. As a consequence, he has his heart locked up, preferring a transient sex life. He is plagued by guilt and hurt, no matter how much his best friends want him to move on with his life. What they don’t know is that he’s been harbouring feelings for one of their own circle for a good two years, but feels so unworthy of being loved that he fights his attraction. However, a shocking blast from the past shakes up his emotions, making him question his life and his future.
“Before Caige, I just existed, now I’m living. I never realized how lonely I was before him.”
On the night that Amanda Stone met Caige, he was a complete ass to her. But over time, she could see that he just puts up a front and that underneath his womanising ways is a good man with a good heart, who would do anything for the people he loves. Having been burnt by a previous relationship, Amanda has self-image issues, and when Caige starts to show a more blatant romantic interest in her, she can’t quite believe it and struggles with her feelings of self-worth.
“Thinking I’m not worthy of her is one thing. Knowing I’m not worthy is a different story completely.”
As the two grow closer, Amanda knows that Caige has something from his past to share with her, but that he’s struggling to do so. She’s patient and understanding and willing to wait him out. Caige battles constantly with his fear of losing her with the truth, as his feelings of guilt and blame gnaws away at him.
“Life has a way of throwing curveballs when you least expect it, but with the right person by your side, you can pretty much face anything.”
This was quite a hard-hitting story. The horror of what Caige has been through is offset by the sweetness and depth of Caige and Amanda’s love story. Caige appears almost single-minded in his persistence to blame himself for the tragedy in his life, in spite of evidence to the contrary. However, he is a real man of worth when it comes to his close family and friends. Amanda is a capable young woman, well-loved by her family, but carries around a core of vulnerability. She is a good and genuine person and, once Caige shows that he wants to take things further with her, she’s willing to wait for him to overcome his issues. Added to all that, she shows strength in the face of adversity when life throws the unexpected in their path.
Where to start, as with the other two books in the series, you are taken on a Roller Coaster, emotional ride.
Love, Love, Love Caige what a sweetheart, and once you are in his inner circle, his love is unconditional, he has a possessiveness to top all possessive alpha men, but still holds onto his very masculine sensitive side.
He had me awe-ing and ahh-ing throughout his back story. As with the previous books in this series, the Hero and Heroine have brief and fleeting meetings some time before and they spend the next however long not thinking much about anything or anyone else.
I loved Amanda, she is a very sweet, good , honest lady with a tremendous strength, you can throw absolutely anything at her, and YEP, it knocks her on her ass, but she always bounces back, she thinks through the situation at hand before making any rash decisions.
When these two finally get it together, like Faith and Skye I was really pleased for them both. They had both been through the wringer, but both came out of it with an army or love and pride.
The group of friends that is Braden and Skye, Seth and Faith and Aunt Martha also grew in strength, they were family you get to choose.
Caige had a hard time relinquishing the guilt he had over Ciara's death, and I can't even begin to imagine how you would pick yourself up after finding a loved one that has taken their own life.
He kept this secret from Amanda, with horrible consequences but Amanda had the faith and trust to help them both through this hard time.
Awe, how cool was the Scavenger Hunt, so sweet and so very special.
Hidden, mental illness is such a tough one to work out with a cherished friend or family member, and I really think that you did Caige and Amanda a truly beautiful heart wrenching lovely story. I can see why this was a tough subject to write about and you did a great job.
A must read, if only to get closure of the series, but it does complete all their stories.
This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone although as with most series you may want to read the first two to get a better understanding for this one.
This book does deal with alot and makes your emotions bubble all over the place. Straight from the start of this book your on the edge of your seat. An emotional jam pact story full of drama and angst with a sweet side of romance added in to.
Great characters and a great story my only negative was the cover wasn't eyecatching enough for me to pick it out of the hundreds of books I read if I had to.
I absolutely loved this story. Caige has gave up on love, he just can't go there again , the heart ache from is too much til he meets Amanda and she has him wanting more, maybe trying again. Amanda has made a name for herself with her career she doesn't have time for play boys just looking for a good time, but Caige sparks somthing in her. Can two broken souls bring a positive and light to thier lives?
Finding Peace by Steffy Rogers is part of the Military Love Series but can definitely be read as a standalone. This story deals with some heavy issues of PTSD and suicide. Cauge and Amanda's story will take the reader through a plethora of emotions while reading their story, but every emotion is worth it once you come to the epilogue.
Caige has resigned himself to the fact that he will Never fall in love after being unable to save his girlfriend from suicide ten years ago. Despite the pull he has to Amanda, he refuses to attempt a relationship with her.
Amanda has wanted Caige for two years but knows that he prefers skinny, beautiful girls. Little does Manda know that Caige wants her just as much but refuses to let go of his past to move on to the future.
When these two finally get together will it be forever? Read to find out.
Caige O'Donnell has never been the same since he lost the love of his life, Ciara Hudson. So he vows to never fall in love again, now he just hooks up with random women, as one night is all any of them will get. Instead, he just puts all his energy into being the best firefighter he can be. What he didn't count on was meeting Amanda. Amanda Stone has been called fat for as long as she can remember, so she has no self esteem left. She feels an instant attraction to Caige, but the first night she meets him, he's a total douche to her. Two years later, they have become friends, but she still carries a torch for him, although she believes that he would never look twice at her. However, she will be there for him whenever he needs a friend. Can her love ever heal his wounds, and quiet his demons? Finding Peace was a gut wrenchingly emotional story that I enjoyed a lot. All of my dramatic emotions were out in spades while I read it, and I felt all of Caige and Amanda's pain like it was my own. Steffy Rogers has a talented writing style that shone with her heart and soul. In between all of the angst, there was some well placed humor that had me laughing hard. Plus, there's a huge twist that came out of left field, which found me dropping many loud f-bombs, as I was shocked. The thing that kept me from giving this amazing story a perfect rating, that there were times that things seemed a bit rushed. All in all, I cannot wait to read more by this author, and HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
This is an emotional one. I loved that Steffy was able to take us through the thoughts of these two people. They both have went through terrible pasts. At times I was sobbing with the emotion that poured through the pages.
Caige has given up on love. He figures, why? Why love? When that person can let you down. He has been left and let down and doesnt know how to get up. After 2 years of flirting around Amanda, he takes a chance. These two move fast and they just work with their feelings.
What a wonderful book, so full of emotions. Caige lost the love of his life 10 years ago to suicide due to PTSD. Amanda has emotional scars from an ex-boyfriend. From the day they met 2 years ago they fight their feelings for one another. He doesn't think he deserves happiness, she feels she's not good enough for him!
Caige receivers diaries from Clara his ex 10 years later. He's afraid to tell Amanda about his ex, in case she leaves him. An accident happens to Caige at work and they face even more obstacles along the way along with a few surprises.
This is a very emotional book, ups and downs, highs and lows. Read this amazing story to find out if true love can over come all of their demons.

This was the perfect ending to the series! There was the right amount of tears shed as well as laughter . I was so excited about learning more about caige and cierra and was definitely not disappointed in my reading. I have already read this story twice! I truly hope everyone enjoys their story as much as I did.
Finding Peace by Steffy Rogers is the third installment in the Military Love Series. I recommend for better understanding to read Rediscovering Peace (Military Love Vol. 1) and Uncovering Peace (Military Love Vol. 2) first.
Meet Caige O´Donnell, a fire fighter, who vowed to never love again. 10 years ago he lost the love of his life Ciara. And there is Amanda Stone, 24 years old, a bit shy with low self-esteem. She works at a marketing company. They´re friends and only friends. But both have this crazy chemistry. Finding Peace is a sweet love story with a well deserved HEA for the characters. I liked the characters and I liked Steffy Rogers´ writing. 4 Stars and Thank you Steffy Rogers.
Wow! This book, I almost have no words, or maybe it is an overload of words. This book put me so far in my feels. Mental illness is a real thing. I live with it every day in my home. Watching Ciara lose her battle, it shredded me. Too many times, we don't think of the ones left behind except to extend them condolences and move on. The story of Caige and Amanda is priceless. At about the halfway point of the book, I had tears rolling down my face. When he sets her up at Cowboys, more tears. Hospital, the mostest tears. This story is riveting!
This is the third book in this series. It can be read as a standalone. This is my first book by this author. I absolutely loved it! I was emotionally all over the place while reading. It hooked me from the beginning and didn't let go. This book had so much heart and feeling and I can't wait to start from the beginning of this series now!
**received an advanced copy for an honest opinion**
Steffy Rogers is an author who guts you, rips your heart then heals your emotions. This is a must read series, and I think this is my favorite book in the series. Caige is my new book boyfriend, and I am sad that the author spelled my name wrong, it is not Amanda but Jaime.....lol. Caige has a past that no one but Faith knows about and we get a glimpse into in the beginning. WARNING....must have tissues handy.
The beginning starts with a bang, and you are on the edge of your seat.
I made the mistake starting the book at 11 p.m. and staying up until 5 a.m. to finish it. The words just flowed, and I was sucked into the world of Caige and Amanda.
Amanda is a curvy woman who doesn't think that Caige would want her, but Amanda is all Caige has on his mind. There are ups and downs in this book. This book has it all...love, friendship, learning to trust, let go and moving on. Survivor's Guilt is something that is so real, and I love reading books that give me hope of learning to move on and love again.
What do you mean you'll be here? Are you saying you'll wait for me?.................. Until the end of time!!
Firstly what a fantastic way to end a series. All the Military Love books can be read as standalones but together they are just beautiful. You get to see where the others have got to there journeys and the love they have for all of them.
Finding Peace is a heartbreaking story but so very worth the red puffy eyes. Steffy takes you on a wonderful journey with all her books but this one is out of this world!
Caige and Amanda's story is my favourite the love, hate, hurt, happiness, heartache the journey they have both been on to get to where they are is hard, painful, powerful but most of all beautiful the true love. The love that is a hero and will with stand everything!
Go be with your girl. I'll see you again when it's your time! .
I love this series and Finding Peace was no different. The love and friendship between these characters is so powerful it pulls you in as if you're a part of the family.
Amanda and Caige are amazing. I enjoyed their story and the development of their journey.
Through struggles, tears and laughter...there may indeed be a light at the end of the tunnel. Though their differences gave them a lot to consider, it also brought out a truth that anything is possible if you want if bad enough.
Steffy nailed this one out of the park she has ended this series perfectly. She takes you on a journey that pulls at your heart. The characters have such long journeys and to go through it with them is amazing.
Caige has a hard life, being in the military he finds his true first love Ciara, but after their last deployment things happen. After time Caige feels he will never fall in love again. One night stands is all he will ever commit too. Until Amanda, she has given up on relationships as well as men. She meets Caige and is very disappointed in the way he treats her and women but she is attracted to him but knows she is not his type. Will they finally follow their hearts or be miserable for the rest of their lives.
This is the third book in this series, and the first time I have read any of this authors work. Well, I can guarantee that this will not be the last time, I will be 1-clicking the other books ASAP. This is Caige and Amanda’s story. These two have mutual friends, and have an intense chemistry between them. Caige is a sexy, possessive alpha, who is a fire-fighter, and Amanda is a shy, sweet, strong, and works in marketing, No spoilers from me, you need to read this series for yourself. This author has a new fan, and I recommend her work for all romance lovers.
This is the third book in this series, and the first time I have read any of this authors work. Well, I can guarantee that this will not be the last time, I will be 1-clicking the other books ASAP.
Caige has not been the same since losing the love of his life Ciara 10 years ago. Because of this is vows never to fall in love again and instead hooks up with random women for only one night and then moves onto the next woman. Caige is also a dedicated firefighter and puts most of his energy into his job but he didn't count on meeting Amanda 2 years ago and the intense pull he has to her that he's been fighting since the beginning and to still have this pull 2 long years later. Amanda has no self esteem after being called fat for as long as she can remember. She too feels the instant pull towards Caige but because he doesn't get close to anyone he is a complete douche to her. Skip forward two years and they are now friends and she too is still attracted to Caige but believes that Caige doesn't feel anything for her except friendship. Can she been there for him though when he needs a friend and can her love help heal his wounds and silence his daemons forever? Finding Peace was a story that had so many emotions in and I really enjoyed it and I felt like Caige and Amanda's pain was also my own pain. In between all the grief, and emotion there were some some funny parts that made me laugh and was refreshing that through all the pain and angst there can still be times for humour. I just can't wait to go back and read the rest of the books in the series now and read more by this author!
