Vintage Vol. One

Rate this book
Born the daughter of a rock star and his groupie, my life should have been full of glitz and glamour. But the excess and embarrassment of that life didn’t interest me. Instead, I killed time at Vintage, a record store where I stocked shelves and lacked ambition.

Everything changed the moment I pressed play. One simple lyric awakened me.

When I stopped denying my attraction to the man behind the music, I started questioning his intentions. We were meant to cross paths, but it wasn’t because of fate.

Someone was playing with our lives.

Burden. As humans we carry these things inside us that no one else can see. They can hold us down like anchors. Or they can drown us out at sea. So when our hearts reach that point, the feelings of numbness begins to take place. Hope, desire, love and second chances begins to be questioned. Can the heart learn to beat once more? Will that feeling of being alive spark something inside? Or will let our past, fears, and doubt dictate our happiness and future for a second chance at living?

#1vintage

Vintage by Lisa Suzanne is the first volume of a rocker suspense romance. This book chronicles the tale of a young woman who is the daughter of rocker legend. Her life consisted of one man who was practically her only friend and confidant, her father. Roxy kept her circle of friends very small since she knew that people only wanted to get to know her because of her father. What makes Roxy different is that she doesn't want anything to do with the limelight and fame. All she wants is to just blend in and live a normal life and the only place that she feels comfortable and in her own skin is at Vintage, an eclectic music coffee shop.

So when Roxy aka CC meets Parker, a guitarist and songwriter of an upcoming band that was doing a signing at Vintage, she immediately felt the pull and attraction to him. For so long her feelings were dormant, and suddenly with one touch and look from Parker, she felt alive. Sparks and that warm fuzzy feelings begins to ignite. Soon Parker and Roxy found themselves getting close and intimate. As Roxy slowly begins to let Parker into her life, she soon learns of the truth of his identity. When she thought meeting Parker was fate, it turns out it was planned. Feeling betrayed, Roxy begins to retreat back to her state of numbness. So when you add a certain of events taking place that threatens the safety of Roxy, an appearance of old an ex, and a gold-digger stepmother, questions and answers begins to linger. What are Parker's real motives? Why does Roxy need a bodyguard? Who is threatening her safety? Simply, what is the real truth?

Vintage does end in a cliffhanger but it was one of those ending that left a mixed feeling since you are curious as to what will happen between Roxy and Parker but at the same time you can sense something bad is going to happen. It's just matter of when will Ms. Suzanne drop the big bomb and reveal the truth. I will say Vintage was an entertaining and fast read since I was so curious as to what is the big secret. Ms. Suzanne was able to capture my attention in this sexy, sensual and yet suspenseful rocker romance. I definitely look forward and hope all my questions will be answered in the next installment. My only wish for the next book is hopefully we will get to read Parker's POV because I think he plays a huge part in order for readers to get the full background of the story. I think my rating of this book was just a 4 because I felt it was missing Parker's POV which I felt would have pushed my rating higher.

I received a finished copy in exchange for an honest review from the author. It does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Full Review on Brianna's Bookish Confessions.

Roxy (CC or Jimi) has a close, tight-knit group of friends and family. She is the daughter of a rock legend and because of her dad, this is why she has a small group of people. Most people she has tried to let into her life, has abused that relationship to get closer to her rock-star father. Even though she has a small group, the one person she can trust more than anything is her dad. However, Roxy doesn’t like living under her dad’s legend, she just wants a normal life. Roxy works at a music coffee shop called Vintage. There, she meets Parker who is in an upcoming band and she is immediately drawn to him. Having kept her emotions dormant for so long, after spending just a little time with Parker, those feelings are starting to resurface. Just when she thinks meeting Parker was fate, she finds out that it was planned.

I have always enjoyed music related romance stories! I wanted to at times, strangle the main character for being so frustrating, but I do understand why. This was a quick read and Lisa does a fantastic job at grabbing your attention. Not a moment passed where I felt I needed to take a break from reading. There was always something going on and it was impossible to put down because of it. The constant suspense of who’s doing what, what’s going to happen, and everything, it seriously was hard to put down.

The reason why this is 4 stars is because I felt I didn’t get enough of Parker. With everything going on in this book, I think with adding Parker’s perspective (even if it was just a couple chapters here and there) I would have been able to follow him better. With an added perspective, I think this could have been a 4.5 or even a 5 star rating!

This does end on a cliffhanger, just so you are warned. I’m very curious to see how this will play out!

This is my opinion and why it did not work for me and I perceived the story.

I tried and tried and tried to like this, but I just couldn't connect. I don't know if it is the writing or the characters or both, but this was not working for me. The story felt all over the place. Roxie wants Parker and then she doesn't. She is a rich girl. Her father who is part of a popular band is very rich and supports her. She is a product of a one-night stand that her father and her mother had some 20 years ago. Roxie drives a Porche and lives in a 3 million dollar house in Beverly Hills that her father bought her. She works at a record store to keep it "real" or something. Who knows. She whines even when there is no reason to.
Parker is an okay hero. He is supposedly a man-whore, but is giving it up for Roxie. The heroine is quick to obsess about everything and why does she blame herself for her BFF's death???

Roxie obsessed over her ex-boyfriend and now she does not want to obsess about Parker, but she does obsess about Parker when he leaves for his tour. Rich girl problems. Roxie "Jimi" or "CC" or whatever she goes by...her father treats her like a princess. She admits her father is very good to her. That he is her best friend and that he is always there for her, but she claims to be alone and complains. I feel that Roxie makes up her own problems in her head. Like I said rich girl problems. Why does Parker want to be with her??? Oh yeah...I forgot...everyone claims she is beautiful. Parker, I have some news for you...beauty fades.

Overall I really enjoyed Vintage. It something a little bit different to the usual rock star meets girl and they fall in love romance.

The prologue was very well done and what draw me in to read more. How could someone leave a note like that; it explains so much without really giving anything away either. I wanted to know more about the character who leaves mystery notes like this.

How Roxy and Parker meet is something else all together. I really liked that scene in the music store. It takes a strong woman to speak her mind to a musician. But then again Roxy has been surrounded by musician all her life growing up the daughter to a music god.

The first half of the book was more about the developing relationship between Roxy and Parker, and while all is good I couldn't wait for the suspense to start. Then it was there and I couldn't put the book down. Lie were told, secrets were revealed and yet the danger is still there. I needed more. Maybe the next book will have more answers.

Oh and the ending... can't wait for the next part now.

In life there are things we can't control. Yes, it's the best feeling in the world but know this, it'll eventually end with a heartbreak. No matter how it happens, it's just how life is. We become selfless when we fall in love. The only choice we can control is how we approach it. We take the risk of getting hurt once you open yourself up to this feeling...LOVE. Even if it hurts most, when you miss someone, it's very painful to get over, but somehow a few of us manage to survive it.

Roxanna Cecelia Price, the princess of rock. Some have used her just to get to her dad. Being a daughter of a rock star, was something she truly hates. With that label she doesn't really know who to trust. If they really care about her or the fame that comes with being her father's daughter. Her life came in a silver platter... condo, car and her expenses, all paid by her dad. She wants to make her own money, so she works at Vintage. It's where she finds her peace. She loves music and she enjoys working at a little music store.

 photo VintageTeaser2nd_zpseud7vhbh.jpg

As for Parker James, things doesn't happen for no reason. There's no such thing as coincidence. He came into Roxanna's life with a huge anvil he didn't know existed until he got to know her. He's a guitarist for an upcoming band called Flashing Lights. He loves to write all the lyrics to their songs. He meets Roxy under a circumstance that I wish was different than how it was. But then if it was, there wouldn't be a lot of gripping and suspense, in their journey. He has a secret he can't reveal. He's tried his hardest to come clean. He knew that he comes with a very important secret that could very well ruin what this thing he has no idea of what to call it in the beginning, with his "Jimi"(his nickname for Roxanna).

They both may have realized that the feelings they have for each other was worth saving and fighting for, but it doesn't mean it'll be an easy ride. Together they have to survive to stay alive. There are people out there who isn't happy with Roxanna's father, so her life came with a huge baggage, but somehow Parker was there to stay right beside her, no matter what his reasons are, he's here to stay.

 photo VintageTeaser1st_zpsmrjpunbk.jpg

He tried to stay away, but he somehow always ends up coming back. It was a constant battle with reality when it came to what they both feel for each other. But the question is...Will they both be strong enough to hold on to this what they might as well call "LOVE"? How long will they both be pulled in so many directions before they're both safe to live the life they both want? Will this huge burden Parker has kept from his "Jimi", ruin their relationship they both claimed, exclusive, when the truth comes out?

This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Loved how this was a unique suspenseful love story. Cherished every page I turned. Succumbed to temptation, I couldn't get out of. Once you get started with Vintage, all you want to do is to get to the bottom of the pandemonium happening right before your eyes. I'm looking forward to reading book 2, which will release in June. Thanks so much for giving me this chance to read this engrossing romance like no other, Ms. Suzanne.

First, let me say this cover is EVERYTHING *twerks* Secondly, if this cover doesn't make you one click like a $2 whore on a Friday night then this one line in the blurb will...
"We were meant to cross paths, but it wasn't because of fate."

Ummm *clears throat* EXCUSE ME?!!

Lisa Suzanne takes you on a road of self discovery, hidden truths, and exposed secrets as she throws us head first into a conundrum of reality. This novel is a mystery, a brain teaser that will leave you in a state of puzzlement. But the worst part... the worst part is you will not care!!! Even when you hit the last page and realize it's over for now. Nothing will matter, because the only thing you will be able to care about is when does Vintage Vol 2 release and when will we get our eyes on that cover!!!

Our leading lady has quite a few monikers, but one sticks out to me the most. Jimi. That name alone, holds a big significance that doesn't go unnoticed. I loved the meaning behind the nickname and how it came about. I loved the moments the main characters shared throughout this novel. The moments when they could be surrounded by people but only see each other. The moments that were truly theirs. Those moments made my heart palpitate and my stomach flutter.

"He was a stranger. A complete, total fucking stranger. And I was pretty sure a piece of my me had fallen in love with him in that moment that was only ours."

Jimi is existing, not living at all having suffered the loss of two people. She's completely void of emotion and closed off. That is until she hits PLAY and listens to the music of the band who will be signing at Vintage, the record store where she works. She sees past the leading vocals, and hears the backup sounds, but not only that. For the first time in one year, she feels. She feels the words of the song. The words of the song that none other than Parker has written.

"Parker was emotion. Bright, light, white emotion."

Parker. Parker. Parker. He is where the mystery comes from. No matter what he does or says you always wonder in the back of your head who he really is because he too, is closed off. You fall for him, right along with Jimi and get wrapped up in the suspense of who he is.

"I saw everything he was trying to hide, like he'd stripped naked in front of me for only me to see. And when he was naked, exposed, vulnerable, my heart latched a little tighter onto him."

I kinda, sorta, like love this man a lot!!! He has a dominant side that will definitely do something to your insides. He is also very persistent, unrelenting, tenacious, and does not give up on his dreams or on life. Once he meets Jimi he doesn't give up on her or what they could be together either. That alone completely captivated me.

"Maybe you don't see it yet, but this is right. And I'll wait around like a fucking chump until the day you accept that."

This was a fast paced, quick read for me. I was absorbed within the pages, enthralled with the story line and engrossed with these two characters!!! Lisa Suzanne, what a way to welcome readers into your new series!!! I'm absolutely sold on the Vintage Series and more than excited for Vol 2. So... *bats eyelashes* gimmeeeee the precious!!!

A definite 5 star read. I always love a good rock romance and this was definitely a book to love. When an author can get your attention from the first pages and then keep you wanting for more throughout the whole book, you know that this is a special book.

You would think being a rock god’s daughter would be the best thing in the world but for Roxy (C.C.) Price aka Jimi it was anything but. She always had her guard up with people because she learned the hard way how people would use her to get to her dad. Many people were users and would do whatever they could to get to Gideon Price, rock star extraordinaire. Roxy had only a couple of people in her life besides her dad that she could trust, or so she thought. There was her best friend Katie, who was also a daughter of one of the guys in Black Shadow. Katie was the only person who truly understood what it was like to live a life when you have a famous father and Katie had found out the hard way that there are people who would do anything to get to your dad and his money when she was murdered by her boyfriend.

Roxy had opened up to her boyfriend Damien and thought that life was bearable without her best friend in her life anymore until the day that Damien left a note telling her that he had to leave and that he would never see her again. Abandoned, she learned to put walls up around her heart so that it couldn’t be broken again.

Nothing could be better when one day your knight in shining armor comes to your aid. The only thing is that someone was a musician in a hot up and coming band. Jimi was leery of any musician because she knew that very likely they were using her to get to her dad so they could further their career in music. Who would have thought that there were other motives in play for Parker to come to Jimi’s rescue? Parker finds out that he has totally fallen for this beautiful girl and he has secrets that he can’t tell her. But like any secret they are always found out.

Can Jimi see past all of the lies to find her way back to Parker? He has so many things that she has needed in her life like an understanding of the music world, a totally hot body, that Jimi finds out he really knows how to use, and a person who can love her for who she is and not for who she is related to. Oh, and did I mention a totally hot body that he knows how to use.

This is a great read if you like rock romance especially when you throw in some mystery & suspense, and again, some pretty hot scenes with Parker & Jimi. I can’t wait to begin Vol 2 and am hoping there will be more to follow after that as well.

This book was provided to me as an ARC for an honest review.

4.5 Stars

Vintage: volume one is book #1 in the Vintage Series and the first book I have read by this author, I was gifted a copy of this book to read for Gemma Reads Too Much,

This book is really cool!!!

It’s packed full of intrigue and mystery and if you’re anything like me you will get completely absorbed into solving the mystery of what the hell is going on!!!

The main plot of this book is the romance between Roxy and Parker; I enjoyed their connection especially because it has a weird intensity that makes complete sense whilst also being a bit odd.

Roxy aka CC aka Jimi (she has lots of nicknames lol) is a strange fish, she’s insular and bordering on depressed. This should be a major downer but actually its works for this character, she’s interesting and I felt a draw to understand her more.

Parker aka PJ (again with the nicknames) is a true enigma, I have soooooooo many questions about him that this book simply didn’t answer. I actually found his aloofness sort of sexy, he has a real split personality one minute he’s a cocky rock star, then he’s a dominant sex deviant and then he’s an adoring sensitive soul. I honestly have no idea which side is truly him; they all worked for me lol.

The subplot is the mystery element and I honestly have no idea how this series is going to play out. But do you know what??? I love that I’m stumped by the plot!!! I love that I haven’t guessed what’s going to happen or who the bad guy/girl is!!!

I’m really enjoying trying to figure it out!!!

I was brought up on whodunits and this has that kind of a feel to it.

I spent the whole book dreading it ending on a massive cliff-hanger, which thankfully it doesn’t. It does however really embrace the saying “The Plot Thickens” because with every new revelation I was more intrigued and more desperate to find out who’s behind it all!!!

I have some serious suspicions of my own, but I will let you form your own opinions.

The sex in this book is a mixed bag of sweet making love and dirty, filthy rough fucking!!! Whichever flavour you prefer it’s all delivered with a serious case of passion and intensity.

This book just worked for me, I thought it was great and I can’t wait for the next book to come out so I can try and figure out the mystery.

Vintage gets 4.5 Stars from me.

I LOVE when a book grabs me in just the prologue and holy crap did this one ever do that! I have read every book by Lisa Suzanne, loved every word she has written and this book out-shined all the others!
We first meet Roxy and she's just going through the motions and not really living her life. This kind of upset me, she's an amazing woman just needs someone to help her realize it. But for that to happen she needs to let someone in, and after what happened to her and most importantly who she is, that's not an easy feat. Roxy loves her job at Vintage, not so much the bands that come there to sign. But one night changes her entire life, but is it for good or does it make her life worse?
There's more to meet the eye with Parker, band member from Flashing Lights. He's sexy and mysterious and for some reason he's perfect. But not really, he's off limits because Roxy doesn't like Rockstars! So what happens when she hears his words, words that awaken something in her that have been dead for almost a year? Can she fight her way to him and does he want her for her?
I loved all the suspense, the build up, and not knowing who to trust! There is definitely an element of surprise in this book and the story flows flawlessly from one page to the next.It kept my attention and I did not want the book to end, I love when a story pulls me in and I feel like I'm actually watching it take place. Only an amazing author knows how to write with so much heart that you feel like you're part of the story!
There are many different people we meet throughout the book and I was not confused once about who they were and they all played important roles to Roxy's life. She just doesn't realize it, always feeling alone. I can't wait to read more and get all my questions answered! Great job Lisa Suzanne! I wouldn't have expected anything less from you!

I loved reading this book. I was looking forward to it as soon as I read the blurb. Daughter of a rockstar that wants nothing to do with all of the glitz and glamor that come along with that kind of stardom. Instead she'd rather hang out at a record store sticking shelves. She also isn't a social butterfly, knowing that people want to get close to her just because of who her father is. She's definitely no Liv Tyler (though I love Liv) Then one day she meets Parker and she is instantly attracted to him, she feels a lure from the sound of his voice alone. There is definitely chemistry, but is Parker seeking her out because of who she is, or is he more interested in who her father is? Now this drama wouldn't make up a story on it's own, and it isn't, it's just the tip of the iceberg. This story is fraught with drama, and the threat of danger, betrayal and lies. Once I was drawn into the story I couldn't put it down, I was turning pages until the very end. There is so much yet to know, to find out! I need the next book! This book is so well written, you can't help but to get caught up in it, and the characters. I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book of Lisa Suzanne's that I've read and after not being able to put it down, I can truly state that she has a new fan in me. I loved the chemistry and attraction portrayed in her writing between Parker & "Jimi" aka CC aka Roxy. The secrets and lies by omission hold CC back from truly letting herself go; truly allowing herself to feel again after Damien. Parker's past has yet to be revealed - there's so much that CC doesn't know about him. What is Roxy's step-mommy dearest up to? Is she truly just a step-monster or is there more lying beneath that surface that we haven't discovered yet? What is Roxy's father hiding about Randy and Damien & how does it and will it directly affect her? Can Parker prove to her that she's more than just a job? So many questions are yet to be answered so I for one can't wait til the release of book 2 in the Vintage series!

Parker is a dominate alpha male that know how to take charge. CC is an independent woman who's afraid to feel again for fear of getting hurt, yet she excels when she submits to Parker both in the bedroom (or living room or balcony - I'm sure you get what I mean). But U must say that first time ... #ohthebelt .. enough said! ♥

This was an unexpected delight for me. I enjoy the rocker romance stories, but this one had a bit more going for it, that made it enjoyable to me.

Roxy is the daughter of a rock legend, yet she wants absolutely nothing to do with any kind of spotlight; she prefers anonymity. She's also been going through the motions of living for the last couple of years by refusing to feel anything beyond apathy or indifference. She doesn't let people get close simply because she really can't tell if they like her for who she is versus who her father is. I wouldn't even say she is content with her life, but it's how she wants to live. All of that changes for her when she hears the music of a band that's sure to be the next big thing. And that is how she meets Parker.

Parker is pretty much a mystery, but I enjoyed watching his interactions with Roxy; he would alternate between sweet and caring to almost like a Dominant, but in a sexy kind of way. The first half of the book is pretty much the beginning of Roxy's and Parker's relationship, and somewhere along the way is when the suspense kicks in and I didn't want to put the book down till I finished, but there are laws against distracted driving for a reason!

Vintage is a gripping story and full of suspense. I loved the way Roxanne and Parker met, it was sweet and full of heat. Their was so much sexual tension every time they were around each other. I couldn’t help but get pulled into their fast pace romance.

 photo Vintage-Teaser.jpg

This book is full of twist and turns, that I enjoyed every page of it. Of course I enjoyed the heck out of Parker, who was as sweet as pie, without losing his tough persona. Who wouldn’t want a rock star boyfriend, who is protective, who was all alpha male, but sweet at the same time and that’s how Parker was. Even with all the drama, the book ended on a good note and I cannot wait for book 2 to see where this story takes us.

A good read but so many genres mixed together

This book is a solid 3.5 - 4.0 stars for me as it is well written, just not my taste in books. I was close to a DNF because I couldn't get vested in the characters. I couldn't find anything relatable about Roxy and while I liked Parker the romance between them was leaving me cold.

For CC , growing up as the daughter of a Rock Star Icon and a Groupie should have been fun but for her she is sick and tired of the "fakeness" that she has to put up with -having the label of daughter. In order to remove herself from the world of fame and fortune, she has her safe haven - her job as a cashier at Vintage - an old records, vintage music shop. When a new band arrives to do a signing , CC can't help but be turned off as she has no desire to A) get back into relationship , B) definitely not date a musician as she does not want to follow in her mother's footsteps and C) she doesn't want anyone getting close to her as all they do is leave - one way or another. When the new band Flashing Lights appear , CC finds herself not drawn to the lead vocalist but to the lyrics and the bass guitarist - it is his voice that calls and sings out to her. If you can have a love at first voice hearing, then CC has found her match as there is something soothing and yearning about Parker's voice. The next thing that Parker does that draws CC in , is that he stands up for her when Vinnie - the other bandmate just wants to get in her pants. Over the course of the novel which spans the next few days , we read as Parker and CC get close and closer. Then danger starts to strike with threats on CC"s life and blasts from her past in the form of Damian. CC's father then steps up to the plate with his new wife and takes CC on tour with him , what will happen though when CC discovers that the opening band is Flashing Lights aka Parker's band and she discovers that Parker and her Dad go way back. Was Parker really just using CC for connections or did he really care ? Can she get past the betrayal and hurt or will it be too late for Parker to have a second chance with CC ?
If you are wanting a Rock Star Story with a well-written and suspenseful New Adult Storyline then Vintage (Volume One) is the book for you and what's even cooler - is that it is has an amazing cover to compliment the book.

ARC kindly provided by NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for a review. Thank you!

How is this the end? That was abrupt...

There are a couple of reasons why I wasn't overly fond of this book. First, because of the ending. There is a difference between a cliff hanger and an unfinished story. The book revolves around CCs protection against something she knows nothing about. Throughout the novel, we see that CC has considerable doubt about her new step-mother. For me, the main focus if the book was not CC and Parker's so called romance, but the unnamed danger in the main character's life. This issue is present throughout the book, yet never developed and resolved. I would have much rather gotten a development in the security/danger/unknown evil issue and have Parker and CC makeup in the second instalment. I feel like the priorities in this novels were a little off, however this may be due to point number two. Another plot issue I have, is that, although there is some action in this book, it seeks to be concentrated at the beginning and at the very end. The middle of the book is drawn out and long for no gain to the book.

Point number two: I quite like CC/Roxanna/Jimi, but I am not a fan of Parker. As soon as he is introduced in the novel, I get this *off* feeling about him; something doesn't seem quite right about him, and I don't trust him. Maybe it is because of how rough he is, or how his emotions are all over the place, but he doesn't seem like a good match for our main character. They seem to be addicted to each other, and to their physical attraction rather than on an emotional level, hence the fact that they only begin to try to get to know each other at the very end of the book. Yes, I am aware that CC has trust issues and so on, but the kind of relationship she has with Parker, is not doing her any good either.

Although this book didn't meet my expectations, it did spark some intrigue in me in regards to CC's step-mother. I may read the second book just to please my mind.

First off, I LOVE the cover which was what drew me to it, so kudos to the creative team behind it.

Now to the review. This book was easy for me to get into and it held my attention...until Roxanna started having too much internal dialogue, but we'll get to that later. After that, Parker alone kept me going until Roxanna finally got her head on straight and got back in my good graces.

Parker was absolutely fantastic. He is imperfectly perfect - if that makes any sense. I loved that he was willing to lay his heart on the line, which melts my butter every single time (picture Dolly Parton from "Steel Magnolias" saying that here). He is a rockstar, he is a god, he is handsome, he makes mistakes but makes up for them. I LOVED his character and his compassion and obvious affection for Roxanna. The only thing I didn't like about him were his tattoos - or more specifically one of his tattoos - and that's just 'cos I can't stand the picture of what he put on his body. Besides that, he was golden.

Now Roxanna *sigh*. She is strong, but albeit, sometimes immature. However, given her age, her immaturity is understood. I suppose the gap between our ages could account for why, after the big reveal of the "secret", she started getting on my nerves. I just wanted to shake her and say "Move on Missy! Let it go! (and no I wasn't singing the 'Frozen" song until I started writing this review)". Eventually she "wisened" up and listened to good advice and got back on my good side.

All in all, this was a great read for me and I am looking forward to Vol 2, which I'm about to start...right now :)

I was hooked in a way just from reading the Prologue. More then anything I was shocked at it. Why you might ask, well It drew me, seemed like a dear john letter of sorts and made me want to get to the truth behind it why is someone saying Goody-Bye to Roxy? That's what I wanted to know by the time I was done reading this so yes it made me want to turn the page over and over again. I was drawn out on how fast I wanted to read this story. The flow was amazing and the details was even better It had a great pace to it. The only thing that I really felt the need to do was smack Roxy a few times to make her see since lol other then that they were amazing and totally worth getting to know. The characters are all wonderful and amazing you can tell that each one brings something to this story in their own way. I'd give it 8 stars if I could It kept my interest the entire time I read the story from cover to cover and loved it. I honestly couldn't get enough of it and wanted more and more with each chapter in which I was dreading reaching the end. The ending came to quick and with that I wanted to run and scream that it was over hell I'm craving more and wanting more. Everything really blending well together and nothing seemed out of place. I wouldn't change a thing. It's a nail biting, hair pulling kind of story once your down but it's so worth every word every line, and every page turn. It's so worth the read MUST READ!!!

Vintage by Lisa Suzanne is a love story with a twist. The writing flows smoothly, the story is completely engaging, and the characters are unique.

Roxy is daughter of a rock superstar and has always had to live with the spotlight never far away. She works at Vintage, a record store that has branched out to sell vintage band apparel and other like-type items. They occasionally have signing events at the store and the first one we, as readers, get to see is for a band called Flashing Light. This is where Parker comes into the picture for us. parker is the lead guitarist that Roxy has been listening to in the store all day. It's his voice and lyrics she is drawn to not the lead singers and despite the walls she has built up around herself over the past year she is starting to feel again because of his music.

Parker is the hunky lead guitarist of Flashing Light and he is hot for Roxy. He defends her against the skeevy advances of his fellow band member and drummer and doesn't realize she's overheard him defending her. But Parker has secrets and those secrets have the potential to push away the one thing he wants to hold close... Roxy.

I cannot wait for the next book to find out what happens because I think things are about to get very real, very fast!

5 HUGE STARS!
Where do I even begin?!
So at the beginning of Vintage, we meet Roxanna Cecelia Price, daughter of Gideon Price, frontman for the world-famous band Black Shadow. Roxanna is a bit of a loner, and very jaded, because she’s gotten used to people using her for her connection to her father. After her ex left mysteriously in the middle of the night a year previously, she has not let anyone get close, to spare herself any more hurt. While setting up for a band appearance in the record store she works at, she decides to play the band’s cd. For the first time in a year, she feels. But it’s not the lead singer whose voice speaks to her very soul—It was guitarist and backup-vocalist Parker James.
They meet, and sparks fly. But she holds back, because she doesn’t want to get hurt again. Their chemistry is undeniable, however, and it was as if they were fated to meet. Then comes the question: was it fate, or were they being pushed together by something else altogether?
THIS BOOK……OMG THIS BOOK…..Amazing. My heart broke for Roxanna, and I fell in love with Parker. I loved the connection between Roxanna and her father—it plays a big part in this story. This book does end on a cliffhanger, but I LOVED it. I think my jaw hit the floor when I read the last few sentences of this story. I will definitely be anxiously awaiting the next part of Roxanna and Parker’s story.

Hot Rocker!!!

I could not wait to dive into this book, I love Rocker books and the fact that Lisa wrote it
made me want to read it more.

Roxanna the daughter of a rock god who refuses to date musicians, well until she meets
Parker, she's weary of his intentions, does he want her for her or to get ahead because
of who her farther is. their chance meeting had me thinking the same thing but Parker proves to
be one of the good guys.

She is scared because Damien her ex left her in the middle of the night without so much
as an explanation, then things start to unravel and she realizes she is in danger, So were
does Parker fit into this? you will have to read to find out.

I was at the edge of my seat reading this wondering what was going to happen next.
and the way the story was written I didn't see Parker's role in the story being what it was,
to say i was surprised is an understatement.

I loved this book, I can't wait for volume two, I'm dying to find out what happens.
oh btw did i mention Parker is HOT? thanks Lisa for another great read.

This book was four stars for me.

I really enjoyed the story, the characters were relatable and the plot interesting and with a couple of twists.

There's a lot of mystery between Roxy and Parker since the beginning, and even though they had the whole "meet and fall for each other in a second" going on, it was justified by the weird attraction they had.

She listened to his song and felt again, that is probably the reason that makes her cling so much to him.

He on the other hand, is a total mystery to her and to us, we don't know what motivates his obsession with her and in the beginning its just too good to be true.

The main issue they have to confront is the untruthfulness , I was totally rutting for her, anything is better than lying, but I found it annoying that she kept toying with him, good thing she finally made a choice.

This first book has a lot of potential based on the fact that there's so much going on, and it leaves us wanting to find out more !

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have read almost all of Lisa Suzanne's previously published books, and I can say that this book is different. This book is darker than her typical sweet romances, although I still wouldn't call it dark read because it isn't that twisted. The sex scenes were smoking hot, and the characters were well developed, as were their relationships to each other.

My personal problem with this book is that a large portion of the conflict involves doing something that I just hate seeing in books to begin with (and I'm not saying what it is because I feel like it would be a huge spoiler for the book) but it's something that affects my enjoyment of stories.

I would definitely recommend this book to people that enjoy a little mystery and suspense with their romance.

I upped my rating to 2 stars only because I liked the plot of the story. While the writing was fine, it was what was written that completely lost me in this book. CC/Jimi was an absolute head case. While we were supposed to believe her to be this desperately hurt individual, I didn't feel it one bit. She was a drama queen and it was almost too painful to bear. In real life, I don't know if Parker would have stayed around. I felt like the book was filled with so much filler about why they couldn't be together, why they shouldn't be together....I think almost every page mentioned it. I almost stopped reading the story several times because of it. But I continued to read it because I liked Parker and I really was hoping for things to get better, as I said, the premise was one that really grabbed me. Unfortunately, this was just a slightly ok read for me.

I love this author so was very excited that there was a new book coming out. This is the story of rock star's daughter who is lost after tragedy. She is just numb, spending her time in a record store named Vintage. It is when there is a signing for a new band that she hears the voice that breaks through. When she meets the man attached to the voice there is an immediate attraction that she plans on fighting because she doesn't date musicians. He persists and they start dating and fall in love but there is danger in the air. Can he protect her from the threat? Do they have a chance at happily-ever after?

I recommend this story to anyone who enjoys a good rocker romance and suspense that keeps you guessing. You never know who you can trust.

I received a copy via netgalley.
To start off I might have to reread this one... I don't know if I was just Ina complete over the holidays mood and it in turn transferred over to my reading. Or was this really just badish. I recently read another of this authors work and loved it so I automatically put in for this one since well rocker romance count me in. But it felt haphazardly written and the plot a bit wonky. I didn't care for the romance aspect if it can even be called that. Since it was more of a obsessive thing. A deeper plot was woven in the background but it lagged until the end when pieces finally started coming together for it and it just to me made it all a bore. Mildly steamy scenes, obsessive relationship, crazy plotting just made it to bleh for me.
