This was an enjoyable second-chance romance.
I really liked that Leo and Christin had to actually rebuild their relationship instead of simply picking up where they left off. Christin knew her worth, and watching Leo work to earn back her trust made their reconciliation feel natural.
Christin was easily a highlight for me. She was smart, confident, and never faded into the background, while Leo’s backstory added a lot of depth to his character. I also loved the friendships and family dynamics, which brought some lighter moments between the more emotional parts.
The F1 setting was such a fun addition and gave the story something a little different without overwhelming the romance. Overall, this was an emotional and entertaining read with great chemistry, character growth, and a second chance that felt genuinely earned.
This was a great introduction to the series for me, and I’m curious to see where the other stories go.

🏎️💔 He Broke Her Heart, Now He Has to Earn It Back 💔🏎️

Break My Heart was such an enjoyable second-chance romance, and I really appreciated that Tracey Jerald didn't make Leo and Christin's reconciliation easy. Their relationship couldn't simply pick up where it left off because the hurt between them was real. Leo had to earn back Christin's trust, and Christin had to decide whether the man who broke her heart was capable of giving her something better the second time around.
Christin was easily one of the highlights for me. She's brilliant, confident, successful, and knows her worth. As one of the top software engineers in her field, she has worked hard to earn her place in an industry where women aren't always given the respect they deserve. So when she overhears Leo talking about her as though she's too ordinary to fit into his glamorous F1 world, especially after they had exchanged declarations of love that same morning, she doesn't stick around and accept being made to feel less than.
And I LOVED that about her.
Of course, fate has other plans when Christin's company is hired by Apex Orion Racing and she's assigned to work directly with the man whose heart she broke right back. 😂
What I enjoyed most about their second chance was watching them realize how little they had actually known about each other during their first relationship. They had fallen in love inside their own little bubble without really sharing the deeper parts of themselves. Leo had assumptions about Christin and her life that couldn't have been further from the truth, while Christin didn't fully understand everything Leo carried beneath his famous race-car-driver exterior.
Leo's backstory added so much depth to his character. The more we learn about his childhood and the emotional coldness he experienced from the people who should have loved him unconditionally, the easier it becomes to understand where some of his fears and self-sabotaging behavior came from. It doesn't excuse what he said to Christin, but it does explain why this man who loves her could say something so completely at odds with how he actually feels.
I especially appreciated that Leo's redemption wasn't just one big apology followed by instant forgiveness. He regrets what he did, but more importantly, he starts doing the emotional work. He opens up, lets Christin see the parts of himself he'd hidden, confronts his past, and consistently shows her that he wants another chance.
Christin doesn't make him grovel endlessly, but she doesn't hand him her heart again simply because he asks for it either. Their forgiveness feels like a process, and that's what made their second chance work for me.
The F1 setting was also so much fun! 🏎️ I loved seeing Christin step into Leo's professional world because of her own expertise. She's not there because she's dating a famous driver. She's there because she's incredibly good at what she does. Watching her work alongside the racing team while she and Leo navigated all that unresolved chemistry gave the story something a little different without allowing the sports aspect to overwhelm the romance.
I also loved the friendships and family relationships throughout the book. Christin's friends brought some much-needed humor when things became emotional, and her relationship with her father was one of my favorite parts because it challenged some of Leo's assumptions about her. Then Leo's family storyline absolutely broke my heart. 💔 Those later confrontations added another emotional layer to his journey, and I really liked the way that part of the story was ultimately resolved.
And that bonus chapter?! 🥹 Such a sweet, adorable way to leave Leo and Christin.
This was my first visit to the Games of Love series, and I had no problem jumping in with book three. Break My Heart gave me a smart and capable heroine, an emotionally complicated hero, great chemistry, humor, angst, an exciting F1 backdrop, and most importantly, a second chance that actually felt earned.
Because forgiveness isn't a reset button. Leo and Christin couldn't erase what happened, but they could learn from it, finally communicate, and build something stronger from the pieces. ❤️

Without thinking, F1 driver Leo Hawthorne breaks the heart of the woman he loves, Christin Porter, when she overhears a few careless words he says to a friend. He never intended to be cruel; he was trying to protect her from the pressures of his world but instead, Christin assumes he thinks she isn’t good enough for his glamorous lifestyle and ends their relationship, breaking Leo’s heart in return. What Leo doesn’t realise is that Christin may be more at home in his world than he is. And when problems arise with his car, his team brings in her company, where she is one of their top software programmers and throwing them back together when Christin is assigned to work on his car
As introductions to authors go, Break My Heart is a strong one with the F1 setting adding an interesting backdrop without overshadowing the central story. This second-chance, workplace romance worked particularly well for me because the focus wasn’t just on getting Leo and Christin back together. They actually had to deal with the reasons they fell apart in the first place and Leo, determined to salvage their relationship, must first open up about the pain and emotional coldness of his upbringing, confronting the issues he had spent years avoiding, leading to some genuinely emotional moments. I liked that Christin didn’t simply fall back into Leo’s arms, but neither did she make him jump through endless hoops to earn her forgiveness. Perhaps she recognised that she had also contributed to their breakup as, although they had declared their love, a lack of communication - particularly about their lives and pasts - had allowed a misunderstanding to drive them apart. Leo obviously knew nothing about Christin, while she pretended not to know much about F1 racing. They had been living in their own private bubble without truly getting to know each other and it didn’t take much to burst it. Leo’s upbringing is another important part of the story, and I liked seeing him gradually confront the things that had shaped him rather than simply brushing them aside as they began to get to know each other. His and Christin’s romance was beautifully written and emotional as they gradually reconnect, learn to communicate and confront the issues that kept them apart. But when ghosts from Leo’s past resurface, he must decide whether he is strong enough to face them.
If you’re a fan of second-chance workplace and sports romances with plenty of emotion, I highly recommend Break My Heart. It’s been a fantastic introduction to Tracey Jerald, and I’ll definitely be exploring her back catalogue.

King Of My Heart Review 📈🏒
This book broke my heart right from the prologue, so it was a little hard for me to forgive Brennan, but I did hahaha.
Here we have Amy, a girl from a small town who is inspiring in so many ways. She had a private picture taken of her without her knowledge, and not only did her boyfriend refuse to believe that she hadn’t posted it herself, but she also became the butt of the joke at her college. The only people who believed her and stood by her were her four loyal friends.
She was left heartbroken and almost lost her future opportunities because of what happened, if not for the evidence she had against the person who posted her picture.
Brennan was a promising hockey player. He had everything: an amazing girlfriend, a promising career, and a bright future. But after believing the rumors, he put his reputation above everything else and lost the best thing in his life.
Now, eight years later, he is forced to retire from the career that meant everything to him, and he realizes that all those years, he never stopped missing Amy or regretting what he did to her.
Amy has built a life for herself as a math teacher in her hometown. She is respected, loved, and happy with the life she created. Everything is going well until a former hockey player decides to move to her town.
The attraction between these two never truly faded, and maybe fate was saving something bigger and better for them. After apologies, dates, kisses, and a lot of emotional conversations, they find their way back to one another, stronger than ever.
Amy was definitely the best part of this book for me. I loved everything she built for herself despite having to go through something so horrible. She was resilient, strong, and determined, and I really admired her.
And Brennan? He finally took his head out of his ass and did the right thing by her. I absolutely love a good grovel, especially when the man knows he has a lot to make up for! This book definitely deserves a 5 ⭐️ from me! 📈🏒

During a break between races, Leo stays with her at Christin’s mother’s summer villa. After a morning of lovemaking and declarations of love, in a moment of thoughtlessness, Leo spews to his friend about Christin, suggesting she would disappear within the professional racing circuit and implying she’s unimportant to him. Unfortunately, Christin overhears him and is immediately crushed by his portrayal of her as insignificant in their relationship. In the fallout, Leo is kicked out, and stifling remorse immediately settles on him like an unwanted wet blanket. As Leo resumes racing, his team at Apex Orion identifies inconsistencies in the software that enables the driver to compete on extremely challenging tracks at very high speeds. They enlist the leading software firm, where Christin, the top programmer, is available to resolve these problems. Because Christin needs to work closely with Leo, their former relationship strains their professional collaboration. However, Christin is hopeful he can salvage their love and earn a second chance. Their love story reignites as Leo’s toxic past resurfaces, prompting him to have a reckoning with the motives behind the reckless words he tossed out about Christin, which had more to do with him than with her. Oh, I really enjoyed this one! 4.5 ⭐️
It starts with a little devastation, with Christin overhearing something that completely breaks her heart… But I immediately liked that she knew her worth. She didn't just accept what happened, and I loved watching her pick herself up and keep moving forward.
Then come her friends… 😂
And honestly, they brought exactly the humour this story needed. I loved the friendship dynamic and the way they supported her without letting her wallow for too long.
One of my favourite things was Christin’s relationship with her father. I really loved seeing that side of her, especially because it completely challenged Leo’s assumptions about her. He had this idea of who she was and where she came from, and watching that perception change was so satisfying.
The romance develops fairly slowly, which worked for me. It wasn't really a traditional grovel, but it was very easy to see how much Leo regretted what he'd done and how much he wanted to make things right. I appreciated that the story didn't just have him say sorry and expect everything to magically be fixed.
So, Leo's backstory was heartbreaking, and then the later interactions with his so-called “family” were honestly devastating. That whole part gave so much more depth to his character and helped explain some of his behaviour without excusing it.
I also really liked the way the family drama was resolved. I genuinely wasn't expecting it to go the way it did, but it was a very welcome resolution.
And that bonus chapter?! Loved it!

It wasn't really a traditional grovel, but it was very easy to see how much Leo regretted what he'd done and how much he wanted to make things right. I appreciated that the story didn't just have him say sorry and expect everything to magically be fixed.
So, Leo's backstory was heartbreaking, and then the later interactions with his so-called “family” were honestly devastating. That whole part gave so much more depth to his character and helped explain some of his behaviour without excusing it.
I also really liked the way the family drama was resolved. I genuinely wasn't expecting it to go the way it did, but it was a very welcome resolution.
And that bonus chapter?! Loved it!

Overall, this was a fun, emotional romance with a great heroine, plenty of humour, some angst, and a hero who definitely had to work for his second chance.

Second‑chance romance is a tricky trope for me. The first breakup always happens for a reason, and that reason matters. It can be forgiven, but it can’t be forgotten, and too many second‑chance stories pretend otherwise... that with a few smiles, well placed words, an overly simple apology, or relying on underlying assumption that they must be soul mates that all can be forgiven, but if it was that easy, it could (should) have been resolved before it became a second chance situation. In too many cases the reader is expected to buy into a “we were perfect once” shortcut instead of building chemistry on the page. Break My Heart doesn’t do that.
Christin and Leo’s history isn’t glossed over or softened. Christin’s hurt is real, textured, and fully acknowledged. I appreciated that she doesn’t make it easy for Leo. She shouldn’t...Leo has to fight for his redemption, and watching him do that, consistently and intentionally, is what makes their second chance believable.
Christin’s vulnerability, her boundaries, and her refusal to accept anything less than genuine change is the heart of this syory. She’s not just protecting her heart; she’s honoring the truth of what happened. That honesty gives the story its backbone.

They were both withholding information in their relationship, and the book reflects this through the whole narration.
As they work on themselves, we then get to know more about them too.
I really liked how smart Christin is, she holds her own in any situation and never shrinks away. She knows her worth, and is not scared of demanding respect.
Leo is a lot more “complex”. He was really the main character in my eyes, and his emotional growth was amazing. I felt “sorry” for him in more than one occasion, not out of pity, but more out of anger on his behalf
You don’t need to be a super fan of F1 to like this book, while having some interest in the sport does help as all the characters are related to the circuit in different ways.

For lovers of protracted grovel
I like my grovel to be meaningful. It doesnt have to take 50% of a book, and certainly not 99% of a story to make an impact. Quality over quantity my friends.
The basis of this story just didnt work for me. The FMC ends the relationship over a single overheard line that she and I disagree on the level of offensiveness.
She overhears the MMC telling his best friend that he's doesnt think she'll be able to handle being part of his lifestyle because people who are need to command the room. He immediately qualifies this saying he loves her.
To me this sounds like a private conversation between two best friends where the other best friends role is to be a sounding board.
I should also mention the FMC comes from a famous, loving father who has no trauma and no triggers to what she overhears.
It just didnt make sense to me because it didnt affect my emotions. And the emotional gut punch is the whole point.
On top of that the meaning behind what the MMC said is twisted into something that everyone seems to understand to mean the same thing which is ridiculous.
The level of grovel should match the level of betrayal and this was overcompensating.

1. I was confused by this book from the very first chapter.
a. After Christin overheard the conversation between Leo and Dario, she first spoke to Dario saying, “Thanks for being a decent guy, Dario. I wish we could have met.” Um, what? He’s in your home and you’re serving him tea and having a conversation with him. I’d say you already met.
b. The book said, “Leo’s jaw clenches at my words. Then he snaps out to Dario, ‘I’ve got to go.’ He reaches over and presses the red X without another word, leaving us in the room staring at one another silently.” So, the way this was written, Leo left the room leaving Christin with Dario. But, it was actually Dario who left the room leaving her with Leo.
c. What the heck was the red X? And who actually pressed it? What did it do?
This kind of ambiguity is *not* a good start for a book.
2. Leo didn’t even try to get Christin back even though Dario spent multiple chapters trying to talk him into it. They only reason they met again was because she was hired to work on his car. This isn’t very “romantic” to me.

I liked the second half way more than the first. I actually think they were a good fit as a couple and I liked both MC’s.
The problem for me was this whole book is based around an overheard conversation. Now maybe it’s because I’m not from America so don’t quite get the nuance but his remark had a different context for me. The way I would have taken it is that “Christin disappearing in his world” meant that he didn’t know if she would fit into the lifestyle of it, especially when we hear how logical and analytical she is. Ok, that’s what literally gets her hired for the team, I know, but I wasn’t aware so much goes into the high performance cars. Not only that if you really love someone, or more importantly think they love you, shouldn’t there be at least a discussion, an argument, just something to prove it matters, not just a definitive “we’re over”. I don’t know, maybe the problem is me but I found the remark pretty tame compared to the vitriol it caused.

Leo Hawthrone said some careless words and broke the heart of the woman he loves. He was trying to protect her but Christin Porter feels like she isn’t good enough to be in his world. She ends their relationship, because she knows her worth. When Leo starts having issues with his F1 race car, Leo realizes that she may be more at home in his world than he thought, when her company is brought in to help.

But that’s the beauty of Tracey’s writing. The dynamic between them is so electric, raw, and intense that you can't look away.

This is the third book in this series, and this is Christin and Leo’s story.
Christin is a top software engineer, who has built her career proving her worth in a male dominated world. Leo is a F1 driver, and her boyfriend, until she overhears him telling someone she is too ordinary for his life, breaking her heart in the process. Now Christin has been assigned to work directly with Leo.
This is a well written action packed, easy to read story, with found family, friendships, emotions, tension, heartbreak, determination, workplace romance, second chances, miscommunication, trust, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, twisted, and unpredictable addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

I loved Break My Heart. This whole series has been great and book 3 was no different. The chemistry and connection was there from the start with Christin and Leo. I was really impressed with how Christin held Leo accountable for his actions- she didn’t want platitudes, she wanted genuine change and unless she saw that she wasn’t going to open her heart to him again. Leo showed with his actions what Christin meant to him and really made the effort to change how he thought about things and opened up. His past had obviously left deep scars and we saw him work through them with the help of his found family. The girl gang vibes in this series is always so good and I love how supportive the group is of one another.

Spending time with someone, you learn a lot and Leo is realizing just how wrong he may be and Christin may be just what the winning prize is supposed to be.

This ARC was a fun quick read with my new favorite Formula 1 genre. It is a dual POV with a British MMC and a smart stem FMC. They go from lovers to enemies to lovers over the course of the story. It starts with her overhearing him making a flippant comment about her and she kicks him to the curb. But he soon realizes that her love is the only finish line he wants to cross. But what's a guy to do when she is hired as a consultant for his racing team? Will the forced proximity cause a crash or can he drive the course to finding a way to emotionally heal and move forward with her.
I loved the use of racing terms as the chapter titles. I hope Tracey writes more like this one!

I loved this story with Christin and Leo. After hearing words from her boyfriend that hurt her, she decided toy with hard and move on. She’s assigned another job. But this one will out her working directly with Leo. Leo has some baggage that is getting in the way of him and Christin. Yes, these two fell for one another. ❤️ and I loved that he did whatever he needed to do to sort through that baggage so him and Christin could have a fair chance of a great relationship. It was so sweet seeing these two come together, and that he loved her enough to work through his past. This was a really great red, and I enjoyed it immensely.

This is only the second book I have read of Tracey Jerald and she is definitely still holding my interest. I really enjoy the characters, the plot and the emotion that are in the book. I did feel like the book started out strong, slowed a bit in the middle but then really ended with an emotional bang. Literal tears at the end after seeing what Leo has to deal with. Loved how Christin initially didn't forgive Leo for hurting her but once he proved himself, gave him a second chance. And with that second chance, she really stood by him when his world fell apart. Really loved seeing them work through their issues. Plus the fun atmosphere of F1 racing.

I really want to read more about this group because it was easybto connect with all of them. Even the ones who weren't major players still left me wanting to know more and see them get their happy ever after.

Leo and Christin's book is full of heat, angst, banter, and redemption (on Leo's part). Leo was the typical cocky Formula One driver with a short fuse, but his growth throughout the book (after he ate crow) finally earned his spot next to Christin. I love a strong FMC like Christin. She stood her ground until Leo proved himself worthy. I would have preferred more groveling from Leo, but oh well.

What can I say I read this book so fast! I couldnt stop.
Amy is strong smart and has ambitions that I really appreciated. She didn't need him.

When you carry your past like armor you say and do stupid things. But the groveling! The angst. I loved that there was no magic fix or instant acceptance or rush back into it.

Absolutely incredible story. Second chance romance but it went so much deeper than just two people trying again…they had to face their pasts, heal wounds from both each other and their childhoods, and truly choose each other over and over. Absolutely loved that the heroine was strong, incredibly smart, and successful in her own right. This one hit!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it wasn't so well written and the main characters showed such emotional maturity to grow and give their relationship a second chance and build trust.
After reading this book I have been on a Tracey Jerald spree and read about another 10 of her books!

I loveddd this! From start to finish I was gone! Keeping secrets and not everything is as it seems. And when he puts in the work to fix what is broken. Absolutely amazing!!! This is one that you can easily have it as a re read!
