This isn't even an "at least it was free" read. This is a "can't believe I wasted my time on that garbage" read.
Zane is a selfish, self-absorbed slut. I feel safe writing that, because he tells the reader that no less than forty-eleven times. He's sooooo successful as a producer (?) of a drama (?) called "Frat House" (which, if you're like me, you'll assume is an MTV-style reality tv show, but it was really unclear what, exactly, the show was). He was raised by a terrible father and differently terrible mother, which apparently explains why he's soooooo damaged.
Julie is interesting, until the chapters switch to her POV. Then she just turns pathetic. Here's what I predict for the next book(s):
- Scarlet will cheat on Zane, or betrayed his trust in some way that won't seem all that obvious, but will be The End for him.
- Julie will find some milquetoast dude to date, and Zane will get crazy-jealous, which will make them both realize they have FEELINGS for each other.
- I will not read them, because I hate all the characters in this book, can't stand the number of typos (really, changing the spelling of a character's name several chapters after the character was first introduced?!), and hated the info-dump, pseudo-backstory provided that didn't show me anything about the characters, so much as it assured that I would NOT be buying the other stories.
