WOW, what a read - hot, hot, hot! Could not put this book down - read in less than twelve hours! Nearly every page sizzles with hot wanton sex or the thoughts or possibilities that could happen! The book is addictive - I did not want it to end! This book will capture you from start to finish and everything in between - cannot wait for the next book in the series!

He slams his mouth onto mine, his one hand cupping the back of my head, the other on my ass, keeping me glued to him. Hunter sucks on my tongue, making me moan. This book will charm “the pants off you” and leave you going back for more. It has fun, laughs, intrigue, twists that you do not expect, and physical attraction. You will fall in love with Hunter and Stephanie. A thoroughly enjoyable read from page to page, one chapter to the next - at times you are metaphorical “on the edge of your chair” wondering what will happen next. Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊

🔥🏒 Hunter and Stevie completely had me hooked from the start. Give me a possessive, morally grey hockey captain, a strong FMC, college romance, forced proximity and ALL the drama and I am absolutely going to eat it up!
Stevie 😭❤️ I loved her so much. After everything she goes through, she could have completely fallen apart, but she doesn’t. She keeps fighting, keeps pushing forward and finds her strength again. She is such a strong FMC and I absolutely loved watching her stand up for herself. She deserved someone who would protect her and make her feel safe, and Hunter was definitely THAT man.
And Hunter Cruise!!! 🥵 This man is ridiculously protective and possessive, but there is so much more underneath all of that. His past and everything he went through with his father really shaped him, especially his need to protect women who can’t protect themselves. The way he immediately sees Stevie as someone worth protecting and then slowly becomes completely wrapped up in her had me GONE.
I loved watching their relationship evolve from something that was supposed to be an arrangement into something neither of them could control. The chemistry between them was 🔥🔥🔥 and the emotional connection sneaking up on them made it even better.
And the DRAMA!!! Stevie’s former boss stalking her, Hunter’s father, the secrets, their arrangement getting exposed, the family issues… these two seriously could not catch a break. Every time I thought things were finally calming down, something else happened and I was sitting there like HERE WE GO AGAIN 😂
I especially loved seeing Stevie become part of Hunter’s world, going to his hockey games, wearing his jersey, meeting his family and slowly building a life around each other. It made their relationship feel like so much more than the original arrangement.
Hunter and Stevie were such a great combination. He’s intense, protective and completely obsessed with her, while Stevie has this strength and resilience that makes her the perfect match for him.
I devoured this book! The hockey, the possessiveness, the angst, the drama, the emotional baggage and that slow realization that these two had fallen so much harder than either of them expected. 🥹❤️

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and absolutely loved getting to know Stevie and Hunter. This is a dark college hockey romance, and while there are definitely some darker themes and triggers throughout, I feel like we’ve only just scratched the surface of what this world has to offer — which has made me even more excited to see where the rest of the series goes and what we discover about some of the other characters!
Stevie is sweet, a little naïve and incredibly easy to root for, whereas Hunter is very much the opposite. He knows what he likes, he knows what he wants, and there is a possessiveness to him that DEFINITELY comes through. 👀🔥 I really enjoyed their dynamic and watching their relationship develop.
There were a couple of areas where I felt things moved a little quickly and I would have loved some more background and detail. The new stepmother storyline in particular had me guessing — in all honesty, when she first appeared, I genuinely thought she was going to go after Hunter! 😂 It definitely went in a different direction, but as you learn more about the characters you can feel where the story is heading. I would have liked that part to have been explored a little deeper, but it still fitted into the overall story really well.
One of my favourite things about Hot as ICE was that I was constantly trying to guess what was going to happen next. Every time I thought I had something figured out, I started questioning myself again, and I LOVE when a book keeps me on my toes!
I also think this would be a really good book for someone wanting to dip their toes into dark romance for the first time. It explores darker themes without becoming overwhelmingly dark — although definitely still check the trigger warnings before reading!
Overall, I had such a good time reading this. I loved Stevie and Hunter, I'm intrigued by the other characters we've met, and it feels like there is SO much more still to come from this world.

Hunter and Stevie had me hooked from the start.
Looking to read about a rich, hot, obsessed/possessive hockey captain, a sex contract relationship (spicy af scenes), no one else can have her, mess family drama and more, than this book is for you!
Stevie is an FMC I liked from the start, trying hard to work for her money by waitressing, making her own jewelry and going to college to better her life (relatable to me on many levels). I was so happy to read on her growth and find her confidence and strength, after experiencing a difficult moment with her disgusting shitty boss. Thankfully she had Hunter's protection from the start. I love when a man knows what he wants from the start and gets it, even if it comes with being overly protective and equally possessive.
The chemistry was from the start was off the charts, he tried to play it off like head just some hot jockey (I mean he was) but I knew my girl couldn’t resist Hunter 😂 the spice definitely spicy, at times I was like damn okay 🫣 😂
Hunter, I truly liked from the beginning as well. We got a lot of back story on his upbringing, and the trauma he experienced at a very young age. I’m heart immediately broke for him.
There was a lot happening throughout the plot, but I enjoyed it more as I read along. Love the other characters and wished I got more out of them! I want to know what’s up with Becca and Jamie, and definitely more on Ryder and what he has to do for his dad !! Book 2 on these characters please and thank you! And poor Celeste, I’m so happy Stevie and Hunter helped her out! She was so sweet.
Over all I’m very pleased with Stevie and Hunter, how much they grew individually and together!

This book had alot going on when it came to tropes. I really do love hockey, dark romance, and contract relationships together.
The MMC Hunter has the instant desire for the FMC Stevie. Does he go about it the right way to help and have her? Not really. 😂 However, where he struggled most was opening up. He was excellent in wanting to take care of her. He has a toxic father and honestly i still hated how much his other family failed him even by the end.
Stevie had to quit job because of her boss being a creep and overall terrible human being. My main problem with everything involving him she just stayed silent instead of telling anyone. Especially when Hunter had already saved her once. She didn't communicate much even when I thought she would.
I was annoyed with her behavior following the fiasco. I really thought when she thought about it after talking to Becca she would have some sense. She gets told to talk to him and immediately screams and doesn't let him talk. Then everything she does after just irritated me. I felt for hunter and when it comes out how it got out I was like okay.....
The end felt a bit rushed because of different problems being fixed right at the end. I think i wished Stevie would have been more rational at times. The other thing that was weird was the dad's new wife's friends saying she is a step mom and he could still need mothering. There is a 9 year gap... he is 21 and she is 30...
I am happy to have received an ARC and honestly Ryder getting a book seems very exciting!

This book was good. It has a Fifty shades of Grey vibe, with the sex contract, Family trauma, full of money and a guy who wanted vengeance.
Stevie is a strong woman with some innocence in her. She is broke and finds herself in a difficult situation with her boss and she was saved by Hunter. From that moment she felt safe with him and had an attraction to him.
Hunter the hot sexy hockey captain and control freak felt an instant attraction in Stevie and didn’t understand it. That’s why he thought it was safer to have a sex contract with Stevie so he would be able to backtrack and avoid the pain.
To be able to survive Stevie felt that she needed to agree to this sex contract with Hunter to be able to pay for her rent and everyday expenses. But also because she really has a thing for him.
But the story didn’t go as planned and they fell for each other.
Both characters were really nicely described and we can feel both of their pain and drama.
The spice was hot, even though I didn’t quite feel the way Hunter is describing himself as wanting rough sex and that other women don’t like his way. I was expecting more roughness from him.
Can’t wait to see if others books in the series will be about Becca and Jamie or the story about Ryder.

Stevie is a bit down on her luck and trying to make it. Hunter is the star hockey player and you can tell he is use to getting what he wants. These two cross paths one day and the connection is immediate. An event happens and it throws the two together and they make an unconventional arrangement. This book had me giggle like a school girl. I love the conversations these two have. Hunter is very bossy and Stevie she likes it especially in the bedroom. This man tells her how he’s going to give it to her and she’s going to take and Stevie is like yes daddy! They be going at it like rabbits. The moment Hunter got his taste of Stevie it was a wrap. Throughout their sexcapades they do develop a bond. They both tried to fight it(one more than the other) but we all know how that goes lol. The pet names, their classics and I love them. They are both protective over each other. Hunter is definitely possessive, Stevie is his and no one better touch her. They have great friend group around them. This book was a mix of plot and spice and I love it! Stevie started out as shy and a bit timid but over the course of the book she came out her shell. There was one particular scene where she had to let big boy Hunter know who’s boss and I was like “yaaasssss girl”! I truly enjoyed this book and the authors writing. I was engaged the entire time, I couldn’t put it down. There are some side characters and I hope we get to read their stories🤞🏾. Hot As Ice was just that hot!! Five stars!!

If a college hockey romance and a dark romance had a baby it would be this book. Be sure to check the trigger warnings before reading as some come up with in the first few chapters. Stevie is working when a trio of hot hockey players sit at her table. While she doesn't initially think much of it, this moment will change her life significantly. Later when she is in a spot of danger, one of the hockey players comes back and rescues her. Hunter Cruise has seen some things in his life time, people he couldn't protect. With Stevie, he can protect her. They enter an agreement together. They both enjoy their time together, but both are wary. When their indecent agreement comes out, will that be the end?
I enjoyed this book more then I thought I would have as I am not always a fan of dark romances. It was steamy. Stevie is very strong even though she does not always feel that way about herself. A possessive hockey captain, contract relationship, forced proximity, and plenty of drama? Yes, please. This had so many elements I enjoy, and I loved how quickly their dynamic pulled me in.
Stevie was such an easy FMC to root for. I really enjoyed watching her grow into herself and find her confidence, while Hunter’s protective, possessive nature had me completely invested. Beneath all that intensity, there was a lot of vulnerability and emotional baggage, and I liked seeing those softer layers come through as their arrangement slowly became something much more. Their chemistry was 🔥, and the spice definitely delivered.
There was a lot happening throughout the story, but it kept me entertained and constantly curious about what would happen next. Hunter and Stevie had me hooked from the beginning.
A possessive hockey captain, contract relationship, forced proximity, and plenty of drama? Yes, please. This had so many elements I enjoy, and I loved how quickly their dynamic pulled me in.
Stevie was such an easy FMC to root for. I really enjoyed watching her grow into herself and find her confidence, while Hunter’s protective, possessive nature had me completely invested. Beneath all that intensity, there was a lot of vulnerability and emotional baggage, and I liked seeing those softer layers come through as their arrangement slowly became something much more. Their chemistry was 🔥, and the spice definitely delivered.
There was a lot happening throughout the story, but it kept me entertained and constantly curious about what would happen next. The hockey, family drama, secrets, darker themes, and emotional moments all worked together really well, and I especially enjoyed getting glimpses of the other characters along the way.

I happily received and read my ARC of this book today, and am already looking forward to the series continuing! This book is labeled a dark romance by the author, and though it does have dark themes and triggers (some we only touch the surface of but I'm sure we will learn more in the future- what is Ryder up to??), I personally would consider this a very palatable and sweet version of "dark" between Hunter and Stevie (our MMC and FMC). There are more sinister things that happen outside the relationship (of course see trigger warnings), but affection (and then love) is there pretty clearly (to the reader) between the main characters from early on.
There was a lot going on in the book, and sometimes that can make a book feel rushed or cramped to me, but the author provided enough detail that each new element seemed deliberate, or at least interesting. I also appreciated that the author didn't make any relationship issues last too long - that's a personal preference 🤣
Overall, the story was entertaining and left a lot of room for future exploration, the main characters were likeable, and the dirty talk and spice was 🔥💕 so to me, this was a great read!

Hunter is the ultimate dark, broody MMC. The moment he sets his eyes on Stevie, it’s game over—even if he’d rather die than admit it to her face. His intense, possessive energy carries the story.
Stevie is such a lovable, resilient FMC. Watching her struggle to make ends meet makes you instantly root for her, and her dynamic with Hunter is absolute gold. First of all, thank you so much Rita Hyra for this ARC! I thoroughly enjoyed every minute reading about Stevie and Hunter!
The spice?! Holy smokes. I had to take a couple breaks to regulate my breathing. They are insanely hot. I LOVEEE a virgin FMC and with Stevie I really loved that she was obviously nervous but not afraid to follow Hunter’s direction. To me that makes it even hotter.
I also loved the storyline with Stevie’s sleazy ex boss, Joe. Without giving any spoilers the final outcome had me jumping up and down and squealing I was so excited. And honestly idk what that says about me 😅😂
Hunter’s dad made me want to punch a wall. I will say that the ending of that storyline felt a bit rushed to me and I wish we would’ve gotten a little more. Or at least more from Celeste.
Overall though I really really enjoyed this read! Now I am on the edge of my seat crossing all my fingers and toes and praying to any deity that will listen that we will one day have Ryder’s story?!? I needddddddd it!!

As a debut novel, this was really, really good!
Stevie is definitely going through the struggles of being a broke, 19-year-old college student. She's just trying to make ends meet in any way that she can and she's written in a way that is so damn relatable. I love Stevie. She's cool as hell. Hunter is kind of a douche at the beginning, but that's typical of the captain of the hockey team narrative. He eventually softens up and becomes another well rounded, well written character. He is definitely a jealous, possessive, and OTT kind of guy but he is also fiercely protective of the people he cares about.
I want Jamie and Becca's story immediately. They've got to have something going on in future books. I want Ryder to have a story too. He's a true ride-or-die friend and he has to have one hell of a back story.
I will definitely keep an eye out for future books from this author.

I loved this book!! College hockey, shy & reserved FMC, morally grey MMC, touch her and die romance - everything you need if a dark romance of your thing! If you’re not sure about it, but are curious this is a great one to start with. The dark romance piece is a little on the tamer side in my opinion, but that makes it great for a reader who wants to dabble in it!
I loved how Hunter was able to show the side of himself with Stevie that he hasn’t been able to show with anyone else. He made her feel completely safe and comfortable while taking her out of her comfort zone. She was able to trust him completely from his actions and brought her grow into herself to become the confident woman she is.

If you love a dark hockey romance I recommend giving this one a chance.
One unfortunate situation leads to a heated deal with Stevie and Hunter. Stevie is a timid struggling college student and she never ever see the appeal of a hockey player. But the problem is that she has a depth to pay and Hunter has something in his mind to make it interesting for him. Hunter is a rough around edges, possessive and truly committed to their arrangement.
This story has a good plot with the pace that allows you to fully indulge in the story. I loved the side characters as much I loved Stevie and Hunter. There is good portion of characters development for main characters and you see it every page till the end. The chemistry was well written from the start.
I hope I’ll see Jamie and Ryder in the future.

Stevie an innocent girl who has never such as drank one alcoholic drink all her life meets a hard as nails hockey playing captain, with a rich family and a dark past. He becomes infatuated with her saving her from her god awful boss. The grow closer and Stevie is shocked at how much she enjoys being around hunter and his bedroom antics. As time passes they find themselves coming up with a contract, but what that leads to is even better. Loved this book, easy read had me gripped from the off. Loved both Stevie and hunter and loved the dual POV. It was a perfect mix of a college and dark romance mixed together. There is even a few other characters I hope create a few more books to make this a series.

In Hot As Ice (a dark college/hockey romance) we are introduced to Stevie and Hunter. The most accurate way to describe Hunter is FERAL. He knows what he wants and that is Stevie.
While the story starts as a contract of convenience, these two end up so gone for each other. The contract didn’t stand a chance. Hunter was meant to be her knight in shining armor and Stevie was meant to be his princess.
Hunter introduces Stevie to his wild and depraved preferences in the bedroom. Stevie, sweet and innocent, learns she likes things just as depraved as Hunter.
There are a few side characters that I hope we get to follow as well with them getting their own stories!

I love an obsessed man! I love the fact that Hunter saved Stevie from a possible moment that could have been way worse from Joe the sleeze-bag! Not just on one occasion but 2!
The length of the book was the perfect length for the story that was written, if it was any shorter it have been too fast paced and if it was much longer it would have been too dragged out so I think the length it was, was perfect!

Holy cow!!! That was freaking amazing. I definitely in my hockey romance era and this book took the icing on the cake. It was intense, spicy, emotional, and just absolutely beautiful. I was absolutely drawn in from the start and could not put it down. I have not had a one more chapter kind of night in months, and I definitely ended up staying awake until 2am reading this book because I could not get enough. I am ready for book two. This was such a beautiful and emotional read. The story explores difficult and meaningful topics like alcoholism and abuse with care and sensitivity, adding so much depth to the characters and their journey. Watching the bond between Hunter & Stevie slowly grow was one of my favorite parts of the book. It never felt rushed. It was built on trust, healing, and learning to let someone in again. Seeing them overcome their past, learn to trust again, and discover that they were worthy of love made this story incredibly touching.
