3 Screw Prince Charming you are my Lancelot stars
Make a wish and for one day you get to have a Cinderella body

This book may be about the War of Roses but I think my lower rating will cause a War of the Rating. This book is very quirky and sweet. We meet our characters Cami and Lance both have PhD’s and very young
I go back and forth with liking the story because it is a short romance novel without insta love
Cami wasn’t a morning person. She wondered if her blood type was coffee. She didn’t have a problem with caffeine; she had a problem without it.

Both characters are painted as gorgeous and young and smart but there just isn’t enough of a story to relate to them. The other books/novelettes will focus around her other 3 friends. I think if these were longer it would have rated higher for me.

Cinderella comes alive in a magical new romance. During a shared evening of friendship, four (4) girlfriends listen to a story that was related to one of the girls during a visit with her grandmother about a beautiful and possibly miraculous locket. As the grandmother gave her granddaughter the precious locket during the visit, the retelling of the story elicits imagination and possibilities for each of the girls. Is the locket magical? Could it bring a wish come true?

The story has all the captivating elements of the timeless Cinderella story from a hard-working young woman named Camille (Cami) Carlina who works in a small office/storage room on the basement floor of a television station to a handsome ‘prince’ more commonly known as college professor Lance Rainey from Boston with a Ph.D. in Early Modern European history to the enchanting ball which in this case is a fundraiser at The Lightfield Museum in Portland. Each of the characters instantly found their way to my heart.

I also loved the dialogue between the characters and the shared thoughts of Cami. The dialogue is always at the right “tempo” for the story from fun to sweet to sexy to meaningful without being preachy. It doesn’t miss a beat! Here are two (2) of my favorites:

“Cami wasn’t a morning person. She wondered if her blood type was coffee. She didn’t have a problem with caffeine, she had a problem without it.”

“She wanted a second glass of champagne, but thought better of it since she hadn’t had time for dinner. Instead, she nibbled on a few cream cheese and herb-stuffed finger sandwiches and washed them down with a cup of sparkling lemon water.”

I wish I could gift this story to all adults who are searching for self-acceptance and self-confidence. I’d also like to gift this story to every public library, family member or friend that is searching for a special story to give to a reader who may have healed physically from a car accident or sports injury but has yet to pick up the shattered pieces of his/her heart and mind that is in constant worry and fear of others reactions to his/her scars. I am not so naïve to think that all those searching for self-acceptance and self-confidence will have the same experience as Cami and Lance but perhaps the story can be the catalyst and inspiration to initiate a conversation that leads to a new beginning.

I am looking forward to the next title in the series with delightful anticipation!

WAR OF THE ROSES
What a fun start to a new series of books by various authors for The Cinderella Body Club. When Cami gets a locket from her Grandmother Camille, she shares with her girl friends, it is supposedly magically, but only for 24 hours, and they each make a wish upon the locket. What a shock to wake up and look in the mirror and see the woman she had envisioned for herself, and each of her friends saw the magic for themselves too. Believing herself beautiful, Cami has a boost of self confidence. This story is entertaining with delightful characters, witty dialogue and a heartwarming message. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and dreams can come true with your own special Prince Charming

Cinderella Had it Easy is book one in The Cinderella Body Club series. A series where four girlfriends make a wish on a locket, wishing they were beautiful, and looked like the girls they've always wanted to be. But of coarse there was a catch, the magic only lasted 24 hours, midnight to midnight.
Waking up and seeing the locket really worked gave Cami a confidence she never really had. Cami's job made it easy for her to stay out of sight, even her office was hidden away in the TV stations basement.
Lance the new host for the TV station was taken by Cami's knowledge of history and asked her to the fundraiser.
Will this be her one and only Cinderella moment. When the magic wears off what will he think of her? How will she see herself when the 24 hours is up?

What a wonderful story!

What would you wish if you had 24 magical hours (midnight-to-midnight)? Camille "Cami" Carlina inherited a magical cameo locket which granted her a temporary transformation, a Cinderella body makeover. She was a modern day Cinderella and looked beautiful in the mirror. Did the wish work for her or was it wishful thinking? Most individuals get a frog and no Prince Charming to show for. Now, a Prince Charming would make her life complete. Where are you Prince Charming?

I give 5 stars to Cinderella Had it Easy (The Cinderella Body Club Series, Book 1) by Jennifer Conner.

Speaking for myself and most every woman I know, at times we've all wished to change something about our bodies. We've wished for bluer eyes, blonde hair, longer legs, or to be better endowed. In Cinderella Had it Easy, those wished come true for four friends. But, like in the fairy tale, the magic is only for one day and ends at midnight.

In this charming story, Cami (a modern Cinderella) wastes no time is taking advantage of her "new found" beauty and manages to spend one glorious evening with Lance, a college professor she is smitten with. Not only does the night hold the promise of romance, it is a night of discovery as she learns how Lance sees her, and has always seen her.

Cinderella Had It Easy is not just the average rehash of the classic tale. Nope, in fact, it is a smart, juicy take on the story, and a grown up story for the dreamer in all of us. A touch of magic combined with some tantalizing Middle Age—England—history (verified), makes for a great love story. Jennifer Conner has created another fun read for the romantic (and historical) reader.

Cinderella Had It Easy was a sweet remake of an old enchantment. It had a modern day twist that was both fun to read and left a smile on my face. The author did a wonderful job pulling me in and making me love Cami and Lance. It left me wanting more. I will be looking for the rest of The Cinderella Body Club.

Cami’s grandmother had given her a magical locket. The story goes that when wished upon, the locket will grant the wish for a 24 hour period, midnight to midnight. Just be careful what you wish, you might just get it.

Since this is such a short story (it really is) I’m not going to rehash what the synopsis has already given you. What I’d like you to take away from this story is that belief in magic can add to what is already in existence.

Cami really believes that she is nothing special. That her scars detract from the beautiful woman she wishes she was. She’s a geek, and proud of it to some extent, but guys are attracted to beauty not to brains, in her opinion. So she clings to the geek and hides the beauty that she cannot see.

I loved Cinderella Had It Easy for several reasons. And my wish is that you would head over to your favorite book retailer and pick this novel up right now because the facts behind the story are just as important as the enjoyment of the magical fairy tale. I have a couple friends that I am going to gift this story to, because they need to see their own beauty too.

What is that saying? … Oh, yes. “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” Life would be so much easier if we, and I’m including myself big time in this statement, simply believed in that saying. No magic. No hocus pocu. Just believed in us enough to know when someone is seeing the real person we always were. The magical 24 hours for Cami came from seeing herself differently, so she acted differently. That confidence in the magic of the locket allowed her to project to everyone around her just how beautiful, brainy and unique she truly was.

Please, give yourself the gift of this story and learn the hidden magical lesson well. Why? Because you deserve it.

Highly recommended for anyone and everyone who needs some love in their lives.

This is a very quick and fun read.

There is a locket. Cami was told by her Grandmother that if you make a wish on this locket, for 24 hours you will become a beautiful woman. Cami convinces her three friends that each of them should make a wish and see what happens.

The next morning each of them have become the woman they each envisioned for themselves.

Cami's is the first story. She works for a TV station as an historical fact checker. Since she was 5 and survived a terrible auto accident, she has had a scar which marred one side of her face.

She has believed that her scar has made her virtually undateable. Then, she meets Lance.

Lance, is a history professor who has been hired to host an 8 week show about the War of the Roses. He is from out of town and feels out of his element. Especially when he is asked to represent the station at a museum gala. Lance is knowledgeable about history, but he is concerned about making a good impression. When he has the chance to have Cami accompany him, he becomes more comfortable about the evening.

This is a cute play on a fairy tale. Since this book includes only Cami's story, I am not sure how the other women's stories go, but I imagine each of them find a new outlook on life and love.

I received this book from the author through Net Galley in the hope that I would provide a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

Camille "Cami" Carlina has never felt like the girl that can turn heads, with a couple of scars from a vehicle accident in her youth, she feels drab. When her grandma Cami gives her a locket that is supposed to have magical powers that turn the wisher into the ideal version of themselves; you know perfect hair, flawless skin, no muffin top. Well, Cami and her friends jokingly make the wish and the next day wham, they're their ideal selfs (you can read about her friends in the next books).

Cami is her ideal self, so she embarks to make the most of her day and then she meets Prince Charming, I mean Lance Rainey. After a hilarious meeting and a date at the museum they go back to Lance's hotel room.

Having just moved into town for a new job Lance is smitten when he meets Cami and they argue over history. When she flees, the sets out to find his Cinderella. What Cami doesn't realize is that the whole time she thought the magic made her "ideal", she was just herself and that's what got Lance's attention. The locket just gave her the confidence she needed to be outgoing.

The story was really sweet and the characters were enjoyable, even when they are arguing about history. I would have readily given this story a 5 had we gotten a little more detail on Cami's grandma's use of the locket; hey, maybe Cami Sr. will get her own book.

I received a free e-book from the Netgalley for an honest review.

I have always loved fairy tale re-tellings and Cinderella remains close to my heart. I can empathize with her situation. So when I got a look at this book, I knew that I had to read it. The book's name drew me in and the blurb hooked me with the intriguing plot-line.

The book is very short and to the point. But the author has given the necessary details to get invested in the protagonists. Cami is actually a survivor but the world has made me afraid to get attached and Lance is a handsome guy who can see beyond the outer beauty. I loved Lance because of his realistic view and Cami because I can totally relate to her.

The plot of the heroine getting a magical makeover for a day and the events leading to finding her Prince Charming is both entertaining and heart touching. The dialogue is engaging and we have a very fast read in our hands. I loved the author's writing style and the twist at the end had me smiling in delight and realization. The author sure knows how to deliver an engaging read with a few lessons strewn in.

I am looking for to reading the other friends' stories too!

My rating : 5/5

"3 out of 5 stars. Camille (Cami) is a fact checker for a history TV station who deals with old scars inside and out. On her usual girls night she tells her friends about her Grandmother's "magical" locket that for 24 hours it'll turn the wisher into the person they most wanted to be. Therefore, all four girls wish on the locket .... and their wishes come true. During Cami's 24 hours she meets the new host of the show she is working on, Lance. They have a magical night together, but once the 24 hours are over will Lance still like Cami for who she is with scars and all?

This was a very sweet slightly erotic quick read. I really liked it. I just wish the characters relationship could have been embellished a bit more so I could have enjoyed it better."

This is the 3rd book that I have read in the Cinderella series. Cami & her three friends make a wish on her grandma's locket one night. The locket is meant to have special powers. When Cami wakes she knows that her wish has come true. She is stunning and her scars are gone. She meets with her friends and they all look good so they take a pic to remember the moment.

Lance is new to the station where Cami works and he is a history buff as well. He needs a date to a new opening and he is interested in Cami and she agrees to go with him. They have a magical night but Cami knows that the dream is over. She is back to herself and knows that Lance won't want to see her again.
Can Lance convince her that she still looks the same as the day before or will never get a chance to know her better.
We all want a Cinderella moment we just don't realise that we all do have them all the time. A great easy read that makes you want more.

Cami and her friends know that life will be perfect if only they have thin, beautiful Cinderella bodies -- so when a wish on a magical mirror makes their wishes come true for just 24 hours, Cami knows that she must use her new body to lure in a handsome man. After all, who could really fall for her in her everyday unremarkable body?

I found this little book to be oddly confusing and misplaced. For one, I expected from the cover for this to be either a fairy tale retelling or a contemporary romance in a magical world where wishes really do come true. In the end, I just didn't get either of these -- which left me with a short, sappy, unrealistic read which really never grabbed my attention nor left me interested in going any further with the series.

If you need a super fast and fluffy little book to bump up your reading goals, CINDERELLA HAD IT EASY may be worth your Ivery short) while, especially if you're a sucker for insta-love or happily ever afters.

Fairy Godmother In A Locket?!

This series is written by different authors but would probably be best red in order. This is the first book.

Cami's grandmother gave her a magic locket that grants the user 24hrs of the beauty(and the confidence that goes along with it) they envision for themselves from midnight to midnight after the power is invoked. On a lark at their girls' night they all sit in a circle and wish on the locket... Will they get the bodies of their dreams? Will Cami find her Prince Charming? Or is the locket just a fake?

This was a fun and easy read perfect for beach reading. Or curling up with in your favorite reading nook :) I would definitely read more by this author and I can't wait to read the next book Spellbound Cinderella (The Cinderella Body Club Book 2)!

***This series is suitable for adult readers who enjoy quick reads with humorous heroines and a touch of magic :)

This is the first book in a really cute twist on Cinderella.
Cami gets a locket from her grandmother that tells her a story and how the locket has magic. If wished on it will bring the wish true for 24 hours. So Cami and her 3 friends make a wish to be how they want to see themselves.
Cami is a history geek and works in the basement of a tv station. She has a scar on her face from when she was in a car accident when she was five and doesn't see herslef as pretty.
Lance is the new guy in town who just happens to be working on the new tv show. He is nervous about being the host of Spend an Hour with the Roses.
Lance and Cami hit it off and it is a sweet and new twist on the guy getting the girl.
I look forward to reading more in this series.

I received this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I thought I was going to really enjoy this, I was expecting a retelling of Cinderella. What I got was an extremely short, very rushed book about four grown women acting like teenagers. Now, don't get me wrong, women (and men) of all ages can feel the pressure of societies body standards, but honestly it felt extremely childish.

Despite the length, I would have enjoyed it a heck of a lot more if there was more of an explanation, IE the 'magic locket' took away their insecurities and gave them self confidence. I also found the relationship between Cami and Lance overly rushed in some aspects, but then I enjoyed their History connection.

This was a very good quick read. Very light hearted and tender. I thought that the book had a great plot and characters that were easy to relate to. This is the first of the Cinderella Body Series and lays the foundation of a story about a group of friends who get together for a girls night. Each friend is ready for love but finds themselves lacking in one or more ways. I love how the story has bits of the Cinderella theme woven in to the story about the character. I am looking forward to reading the next book as well as other works by this author.

This is a super sweet, fun short story that I would recommend to anyone that needs a little light-hearted romance that you can read quickly.

Cinderella Had it Easy is not sugary-rot-your-teeth-sweet. For as short as it is, it actually has quite a bit of depth and a lovely message. We've all had times where we feel less that desirable, and the notion of an entire day of being sexy is hard to pass up.

There are four friends that feel the effects of the spell, and I absolutely want to know what happened on the other three's 24 hour glam-o-rama.

I liked Cinderella Had It Easy. . I liked the story premise and theme. I guess we all have those things we dislike and hold us back that others really don't notice as much as we think. It was clever how the transformation happened. My favorite thing about the book was the way the author, through the ladies seeing themselves differently, helped each act differently. (I understand the others will have their own story. Great message.

I was given an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. So... Here goes. I realize that this is a short story and due to that things need to move along pretty quickly. However, this was so fast I felt like I had just completed the final leg of the Tour de France! Slow the story down just a bit and for the love of all that's sweet and wonderful, don't jump in the bed after you have just met in a cafeteria. Ew!

From Magnolia Reviews: One Petal

This story is what would have happened had Cinderella's evil stepsisters been the ones with a fairy godmother. I do not recommend this book. It was poorly written, the characters are vapid, and the plot full of blatant holes. I will not be reading the rest of the series.

I didn't enjoy it. This isn't 'Cinderella' because she never thought she was ugly. She thought she was poor and needed some rich girl clothes, this girl wants a complete beauty makeover because she thinks she's ugly from scarring and leaves at midnight because she feels hideous. First, who has sex with someone they think thinks they look different? I wasn't a fan of a lot of lines, while the writing was OK, this book wasn't for me at all.

Cami and her friends have a locket from her grandmother that her grandmother swears works like Cinderella’s fairy godmother. So the girls try it to see if it will work. The very next day, Cami meets Lance and her life makes a big turn.
This was a pretty quick read with a moral buried in it. Cute story. I’d recommend it to anyone that likes short and sweet.
